  • ASMR VTubers concerned for YouTube future after “puritanical” policy change – Dexerto

ASMR VTubers concerned for YouTube future after “puritanical” policy change YouTube: Secret Subject / YouTube: MiilkywayzYouTube’s latest policy change regarding ASMR content on the platform has left a number of VTubers concerned. Creators claim the “puritanical” update could force them to abandon their artform and find another niche on the platform to survive. ASMR has been a capstone of YouTube content for the better half of a decade. Hidden away in its own corner of the website, users can look up a number of videos of hushed whispers or discrete sounds, all bottled up into various different scenarios. Viewers of ASMR content swear by the feelings of relaxation it invokes. While there are more “triggers” for the response than just whispering, the soft spoken voice is the best conveyed in video content, and creators have built entire careers on the practice. One such creator is Secret Subject, who has 80,000 subscribers on YouTube for her ASMR and hypnosis content. She was originally doing just hypnosis before jumping into ASMR in 2020. She then added VTubing into the mix in 2021 because “it looked fun” and it allowed her faceless content to thrive. “I joined [the ASMR community] because at the time I wanted to pivot my channel into faceless content and it seemed like a cool and creative space to be in which was very successful for my channel and is now what I am more known for,” she recounted to Dexerto. “It is a sleep aid, it is a comfort, it is a way to experience something you couldn’t or wouldn’t in real life. I use it to educate people on topics and situations and to have a fun time. I think for those who like it, it’s a really great way to unwind and relax.” However many only see the other, smaller side of ASMR — the sexual tie-in — and that’s the line YouTube is trying to cut. While practically all ASMR content on the Google-owned platform is non-sexual in nature, there have been subtle attempts to silence it. Earlier in 2022, NIJISANJI VTuber Mashiro was banned on the platform for an undisclosed reason, having to start his account from scratch. On the same day, a number of the agency’s other talents deleted their ASMR content in the aftermath due to a policy change. A YouTube spokesperson at the time said there was no update recently, and the platform “has a long standing policy that disallows content that involves sexualization of minors,” but made no comment on ASMR itself. However, a September 7 update to YouTube’s policy on nudity and sexual content is pushing ASMR artists towards leaving the platform. A Community Manager said “with this policy update, more content from TV shows, movies, and other fictional settings will be allowed on the platform as long as it has the proper context and doesn’t cross the line of sexually gratifying content.” But there was a specific restriction placed on ASMR creators: “We’ve strengthened our policies to better identify and action ASMR content that is sexually gratifying. ASMR videos with audio sexual sounds may be age-restricted or removed from the platform.” It’s a broad brush, and creators are already feeling the effects. Videos that include “touching, hugging, massage, and especially kissing” are in the platform’s sights according to Secret Subject. What those noises actually are, and the subjective way of policing them, have ASMR VTubers fearing the policy change could lead to the downfall of the artform. There’s a big emphasis in the ASMR space on roleplaying and navigating through specific stories and scenarios. For YouTube content, many creators do their best to ensure it’s not sexual. While there are some topics that toe the line, there is a distinct difference between erotic role play and just teasing. “The reason it’s very popular is not because people listen to it for achieving some kind of sexual gradification,” fellow VTuber Miilkywayz, who has made ASMR content for 18 months, told Dexerto. Milky described the policy change as “extremely disheartening”. The VTuber had plans to move her streams from Twitch to YouTube after “seeing the potential” in the platform, but policy changes like these are making her second guess that decision. “I may be concerned about uploading ASMR content on my main YouTube channel from now on,” she continued. “For VTubers that stream on YouTube mainly, I can see it definitely affecting their choices of creating ASMR content. They may even seek out to take that type of content to another streaming platform. “Truth be told, no one wants to wake up to having their entire channel demonetized or terminated over an ASMR video they recently uploaded or streamed.” The line has shifted so many times though for creators, it’s practically impossible to know what situations are acceptable for the platform until YouTube deems it inappropriate and demonetizes it — or puts a strike on the creator’s account. “In the last year alone I’ve had about 30 of my videos age restricted,” Secret Subject explained. “Because I dabble in dominant characters, I assumed it was that making this happen however now some of my most SFW content is the one being blocked. “For example I have a cat girl hugging and nuzzling hypnosis RP that was age restricted, and when I appealed it was denied in under a minute. This new policy is just adding to the list of things we can’t do. Already so much is put down to context, but apparently even within the context of an audio play, that’s not good enough for YouTube to consider before letting our content take a hit, especially monetarily. “While it’s not about the money for me, as I love giving people free content, some of my videos have over 100,000 views and I’m making no money from them.” The constant crackdown on ASMR content while other sexually suggestive content makes waves on the platform has content creators feeling specifically targeted by YouTube. There’s a knowledge gap between those within the space and those outside who hold the moderation powers. “It makes complete sense YouTube would find ASMR content easier than other problematic content that often can be hard to find with search terms,” Milky said. “ASMR will always be under ASMR.” Milky’s anecdote isn’t an isolated one — the bad wap ASMR gets means creators are looking for a new home. Some already have Patreon accounts where they can do both SFW and adult content. Twitch is also more accepting of the practice, as long as the visual aspect doesn’t break the Terms of Service. Regardless of whether there’s a reversal of the policy or not, ASMR content creators still feel unfairly treated “when it comes to decisions on restrictions, demonetization and strikes,” Secret Subject admitted. If these ASMR artists want a future on YouTube, they believe they’ll have to abandon their roots entirely. “If they were open with where the lines were drawn it would be better, but also I think the puritanical control will be their downfall here,” Secret Subject said. “Creators are not happy. We talk to each other and share in the issues we see and face and the limits are being so tightly placed now that most scenarios are off limits.” “I’ve been [doing] YouTube full time since 2019 and it really makes me question if I made the right choice. It’s been tiring talking to Google employees who can’t tell me directly what to fix to sort my issues and realistically if any of us want longevity on the platform we might need to look into another niche entirely.” At the end of the day though, these ASMR content creators just want to be understood like any other star on YouTube. Their content serves a big enough audience to make a living, but they feel like the walls are coming in on what is a misunderstanding of the space, and it’s threatening their livelihoods. “I wish people understood that ASMR is not creepy, weird, or always sexual,” Secret concluded. “While some of us do NSFW work on the side, we understand the line and limiting ourselves more and more creatively strips our autonomy to create work.”

  • Asmongold’s dad brutally roasts his son’s messy house & “hoarder” lifestyle – Dexerto

Asmongold’s dad brutally roasts his son’s messy house & “hoarder” lifestyle Twitch: AsmongoldAsmongold’s dad brutally roasted his son’s messy house and “hoarder” lifestyle with a living room seemingly so cluttered he could barely even walk in it. When it comes to Asmongold’s hygiene, he’s not exactly known as one of the cleanest streamers in the business, with a picture of his dirty streaming setup once becoming a meme. And fans even got a further look into Asmon’s house in a Steak and Eggs podcast video in which they explore his place of living, much to the horror of fans. Now it seems even Asmon’s dad is joining in on the roasts of his son’s house, describing a living room filled with so much stuff he simply couldn’t walk to the bathroom. “I stayed over at Zach’s house, his buddy Zach, and they got a nice clean house, big TV, they put me up on a good couch,” Asmon’s dad said, comparing his place to another. “It was great, I stayed there for three days.” Asmon’s dad then described the contrast of the houses, “He got back from LA and comes over and picks me up and brings me over here, I couldn’t even walk through his living room to get to the s***ter.” And I said, ‘I tell ya if I’m going through here at night and anything gets in my way, I’m throwing this s*** out of here.” And much of the reaction from fans was a combination of horror and genuine concern for the streamer. “Like watching an episode of Hoarders,” a user said of Asmon’s house on the LivestreamFail subreddit. Another viewer said, “God bless his soul. This man needs an intervention, and you’re sure as s*** his streamer friends won’t give him any.” Another viewer said of his dad’s roasts, “It’s nice seeing his dad expose the f*** out of him. He’s right, wish he’d listen to him more.”

  • Asmongold worries Activision Blizzard won’t fix internal issues following lawsuit scandal – Dexerto

Asmongold worries Activision Blizzard won’t fix internal issues following lawsuit scandal Twitch/AsmongoldAsmongold has expressed his concerns that Activision Blizzard may find it hard to improve their work conditions, after the company was hit by a lawsuit by the State of California over “pervasive frat boy culture.” Speaking with Dexerto, the streamer explained why it will be hard to foster a good working environment moving forward, but argued that the lawsuit may actually be a good thing for World of Warcraft if it results in a change. He also told us what he thinks of former President J. Allen Brack. Asmongold: How Activision Blizzard working conditions could impact WoW This isn’t the first time that Asmongold has spoken out on the Activision Blizzard scandal. On July 22, he condemned Activision Blizzard’s “shameful” behavior and lackluster attempts at atonement. Then, on August 1, he tweeted: “For what it’s worth, I think in the long run this controversy and low point in WoW will be good for the game.” For what it’s worth, I think in the long run this controversy and low point in WoW will be good for the game. I’m not joking or memeing, I really mean it For too long have we accepted complacency and mediocrity, it’s good for that to change — Zack (@Asmongold) August 1, 2021 As well as expanding upon his previous comments, Asmongold told Dexerto that he believes it will be hard it will be for Activision Blizzard to fix the problems. “It might sound weird, right? But I do think this reckoning will be good for the game. Imagine, how could you possibly do your job if you’re constantly looking over your shoulder making sure your boss isn’t touching it? “Like you’re just constantly stressed out, imagine trying to work in that environment. A person like that goes into work, and they’re already stressed out driving to work. They’re not thinking about how to make the game good, they’re not thinking about how they want to change and innovate on a system, they’re thinking some interpersonal thing because their boss can’t keep their hands to themselves, or they’re making inappropriate comments, or they’re being treated badly. “I think that’s a big element of it. I hear a lot of people, and the most salacious and the worst stuff is the sexual harassment, obviously, it’s really bad, but there’s also the huge thing that affects everybody, and that’s just a bad workplace environment. I worry that Blizzard aren’t going to fix that as much as they’ll be able to fix the sexual harassment stuff. I think they’re going to be able to clamp down on that mostly because it’s an easier problem to solve and, most importantly, it doesn’t cost them money. He added: “It costs money to treat employees well and not treat them like rats in a little skinner box.” Asmongold believes Blizzard President “inherited” problems In the wake of the controversy, several Activision Blizzard officials have stepped down from their post, including former President J. Allen Brack. While the company’s current and former high-level management have been widely condemned, Asmongold has expressed some sympathy for Brack. “I don’t think that J. Allen Brack was a bad guy,” he stated. “This is primarily me guessing, as well as things that I’ve heard, but I’ve never met a 40+-year-old man with long hair that is a huge corporate a**hole. I feel like he’s probably just a nerdy guy that got put in a position where he inherited a lot of the problems that the company had. “He was in a leadership role beforehand, but it really wasn’t him doing all that stuff. It was Mike Morhaime and the other leadership that held accountability over the previous people, because the lawsuit had started about the same time that he got his position as being President. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that during those two years as President that his hair turned all grey. “The guy just got put in a bad position. I’m not saying he did nothing wrong – he probably did f**k up a lot of stuff – but I don’t think he’s a terrible person. At worst he’s incompetent, and at best he’s a weak leader. And neither one of those are a terrible thing. Not everyone can be the leader of a company, especially in a situation like that.” Asmongold: Activision Blizzard Co-Leaders bring “new ideas” After Blizzard fans largely praised the appointment of Mike Ybarra and Jen Oneal as Blizzard’s Co-Leaders, Asmongold told us that they’re the breath of fresh air that the company has been sorely lacking. “They play the game, and what I think is more important than that is that they are new,” he notes. “I feel like Blizzard has been a little bit incestuous, constantly keeping it in the family. Get some new people in here, get some new ideas, I think that’s what the company needs more than anything. “We’ve been having old ideas for years and where has that gotten us?” he asked. “Nowhere.”

  • Asmongold willing to boycott Streamlabs and “lose money” if OBS drama isn’t resolved – Dexerto

Asmongold willing to boycott Streamlabs and “lose money” if OBS drama isn’t resolved Asmongold/StreamlabsTwitch star Asmongold said that he is willing to “lose money” and stop using Streamlabs for his broadcasts on his main channel, and explained why he would AQend his partnership with the software company. On November 18, Twitch star Imane ‘Pokiemane’ Anys publicly criticized Streamlabs for allegedly using the name of OBS Studio, an open-source and free program, against their wishes, as well as allegedly copying their competitor’s work. The next day, the streamer cut ties with the company after claiming the company was using images of her without her permission. Now, Asmongold has chimed in about the situation and offered his perspective on the allegations against the company. Asmongold on Streamlabs Asmon was streaming on his secondary Twitch channel, zachrawrr, when he touched on his feelings about Streamlabs. The streamer said, “The fact is that Streamlabs certainly is not a clown show, it seems to be the whole circus. There’s more and more bad things coming out about stream labs, people are mad that Pokimane and Hasan are criticizing it while simultaneously using it. I’ll tell you why, it’s probably because they have a partnership with the website.” He carried on, “How do I know” That’s because I have one too. Probably not for very long after this goes on YouTube if it ever does.” Asmongold then delved into if he would continue to use the service on Twitch. He said, “Whenever I come back on my main channel if I don’t feel like the company has done what I want them to do, which is unlikely, I’m just gonna stop using them. That’s all there is to it. It is what it is. We’ll see what happens, but there it is. I’ll lose money by doing it, but it’s whatever.” He ended by saying that he makes more money from sponsored streams than his partnership with the company, so it’s a loss he’d be willing to take if needed.

  • Asmongold explains why people are “naive” to think streamers are anything like them – Dexerto

Asmongold explains why people are “naive” to think streamers are anything like them Twitch: asmongoldPopular WoW streamer Asmongold told viewers that it’s “naive” to think any big streamer out there leads a life similar to theirs, especially with all of the money being made these days. One of the biggest draws of streaming is the relationship viewers feel they develop with their favorite creator, but it might not be wise to start thinking big-name streamers are anything like the rest of us. There was definitely time in the early days of streaming when it could be said the big streamers were similar to your average gamer, but no more. In the year 2021 there’s so much money going around, influencers on Twitch and YouTube are in a whole other tax bracket than most, according to Asmongold. While playing some WoW Shadowlands on a secondary channel, Asmon went on a soliloquy about why it was “naive” to believe that your favorite famous streamer is just like you, or even comparable. “To some degree, ‘relatability’ is important, sure,” Asmon remarked. “But, I really think that people are very naive, when they think that many streamers are ‘oh he’s just like me.’” The simple fact is, according to Asmongold and our own sources, the biggest streamers easily pull in hundreds of thousands of dollars a year from just broadcasting, and them some outside of their streams as well. “This person’s nothing like you, they’re making $50,000 a month playing video games, they have people paying them $10,000 to make tweets,” he explained. “They’re buying brand-new cars all the time, like, it’s just a complete facade.” Thinking your favorite influencer is just like you isn’t something that’s unique to streaming fans. You see it all the time in celebrity and musician fandoms, and the same arguments against that kind of idolization as Asmongold was talking about. In the end, there’s nothing stopping streamers from appearing ‘relatable,’ in fact it’s what makes most of them entertaining to watch. But it does help to remember that, even though they might be playing the same games you are, the life they lead is vastly different.

  • Asmongold warns next Twitch break could be his last: “I will probably quit forever” – Dexerto

Asmongold warns next Twitch break could be his last: “I will probably quit forever” Twitch: AsmongoldAsmongold warned fans his next Twitch break could be his last, claiming he’d probably just quit streaming forever instead since his career would be “clearly unhealthy” at that point. Asmon has taken several long breaks throughout his streaming career for his health and wellbeing. Between 2019 and 2020, he remained offline for a stretch of more than 100 days. Shortly after, he took a mini-break followed by a longer one at the beginning of 2021. Later in 2021, he took another handful for personal reasons, to look after his late mother, and to mourn her passing. On April 18, 2022, he warned fans that he’ll probably just quit outright if he ever has to take another extended break. “I’m not taking a break,” said Asmon in response to a fan. “I think the next break I take, I’ll quit. The next break will probably be quitting. If I have to take a break again, I will probably quit forever. That is my plan. “If I take a break again, unless it’s like some kind of crazy health thing or whatever, I’ll quit,” he added. “Because obviously, at that point, it would have happened like four or five times, and it’s clearly unhealthy for me.” “I’ve tried different ways to handle things and deal with them. So, if it continues to be that stressful, it’s something that I’d have to move on from and do something different with my life. Because I would be, at that point, ruining my life.” Of course, Asmon didn’t say he would take a break anytime soon. Quite the opposite, in fact. Instead, he explained that if he ever feels the need to take another one, it’ll be a sign his career is taking a toll on him, and he’ll probably decide to call it quits. Read More: Asmongold explains why VTubing is a “hack” – If that does happen, he’ll be sorely missed by his fans and the broader streaming community at large. He started from humble beginnings and always stayed true to himself, even after becoming a powerhouse streamer.

  • Asmongold wants CrazySlick to “die” and threatens to cut ties with Mizkif over allegations – Dexerto

Asmongold wants CrazySlick to “die” and threatens to cut ties with Mizkif over allegations Twitch: Asmongold/CrazySlickAsmongold has said he wants CrazySlick to “die”, following allegations of sexual assault levied against the Twitch streamer, following drama that erupted between fellow streamers Mizkif and Trainwreck. Asmongold, one of the biggest OTK streamers, was reacting to the drama on his own stream, which has embroiled his OTK co-owner Mizkif in allegations of a cover-up, regarding allegations dating back to 2021. Streamer AdrianahLee has claimed that she was assaulted by CrazySlick, and also alleged that Mizkif and then-girlfriend Maya worked to keep “crucial” information out of her original statement. Asmongold to CrazySlick: “I hope you f***ing die” While streaming, Asmongold voiced his disdain for CrazySlick following the allegations. In a now-deleted Twitch clip, Asmongold said, “I f***ing hate you, I hope you die. I hope you f***ing die.” Asmongold doubled down on this statement and clarified his stance in the clip as well. “In a video game? No, in real life”, concluding with, “No, I’m not kidding, he’s a piece of s***.” Asmon threatens to cut ties with Mizkif The OTK streamer also spoke about cutting ties with Mizkif. In the same stream, now unavailable on his channel, Asmongold vowed to cut ties with Mizkif if he himself doesn’t cut ties with CrazySlick. Mizkif is also facing his own allegations, most notably IcePoseidon leaking DMs that appear to show Mizkif using both racist and homophobic slurs. However, Asmongold’s going to give Mizkif time to sort through everything being thrown his way. Asmongold also vowed to cut ties with anyone else still associating with CrazySlick. Since posting a now-deleted tweet denying the allegations, and comparing it to the Johnny Depp vs Amber Heard trial, CrazySlick has apparently gone missing. Asmongold also lambasted Slick’s Twitter response. Mizkif went into his offline chat to ask for help: “None of us know where Slick is. Slick messaged some of us some farewells but he has yet to message us. If any of you have a contact or know anything about slick please let me know.” Asmongold’s comments, hoping that CrazySlick “dies”, could risk breaching Twitch’s community guidelines, under the ‘violence and threats’ rules. Twitch has not taken any moderation action against his channel at the time of writing.

  • Asmongold vows to be “less of an asshole” on Twitch after his mother’s passing – Dexerto

Asmongold vows to be “less of an asshole” on Twitch after his mother’s passing YouTube: AsmongoldAsmongold has broken his silence following the death of his mother, returning to YouTube on November 4 to talk about his streaming future. The Twitch star isn’t going anywhere — but he is changing tact, vowing to be “less of an asshole”. Asmongold has been taking a break from Twitch, YouTube, and social media since October 29 when he announced the passing of his mother. The tributes to the affectionately-known “Asmom” have rolled in over the last week, with Asmongold’s community rallying behind him. The star has spoken out on camera for the first time on November 4 in a 32-minute YouTube video talking about her final moments, and the support he’s received. “I don’t really know if my life will ever be the same,” Asmongold admitted. “I was such a good boy, and we just would sit here in this house and play video games and hang out and she’d make us cupcakes. It was so f**king good man.” Earlier this week, my mom passed away. I’m honestly still in shock, it’s hard to imagine that it’s even real. I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to come to terms with it. She was my best friend and the light of my life. I’ll love you, always and forever. pic.twitter.com/bn4X2pVc2P — Zack (@Asmongold) October 29, 2021 Asmongold did brush on his immediate future on Twitch — the star “doesn’t know” when he’ll be back to streaming on his main channel. However, he plans on uploading content on his secondary ‘Zachrawrr’ Twitch and YouTube channels. “I would like to come on my alt stream and just kind of give my opinion about things and talk about stuff that I’m reading online,” he said. “It’s either I talk to the camera or I sit in front of a mirror and I almost have the conversation with myself so I just have to get that out there.” When he does return though, he wants to show off a “genuine and pure-hearted” personality — the glowing terms he used to describe his mom — and be “less of an asshole”. “The truth is that this is what happens to everybody and now I guess it’s my turn to give that to somebody else. That’s the most that I can really say,” he said. “She was the most genuine and pure-hearted and kind person that I’ve ever known and I think that from now on I’m going to try to be a little bit less of an asshole. I really am, just try to be a little bit more relaxed.” Related quotes from video begin at 28:45. For now, Asmongold is taking more time away from Twitch to sort out the funeral, among other obligations. However, he acknowledged all the love sent by his fans across the world — and that he will be sharing more of it once he makes his full return. “I want to say to everybody — and not just you know my close friends and family — I really appreciate everything that you all have done,” he said. “I know how much many of you all loved my mom and thought she was great. I got so many good comments about her and people were so nice “It made me feel so humble and so small to realize I had that many people around me who care and I really appreciate every single one of you.”

  • Asmongold vows to never “sell out” and get paid to gamble on Twitch – Dexerto

Asmongold vows to never “sell out” and get paid to gamble on Twitch Twitch: AsmongoldAsmongold has been outspoken about his issue with sponsored gambling streams on Twitch, and he doubled down on his stance by vowing to never “sell out” and get paid to do it. Twitch’s acceptable of streamers to host sponsored gambling streams on their platform has been the hottest topic for some time now. It returned to the spotlight once again after xQc hosted one for the first time in a year. Not everyone is against them, especially those like Adin Ross who get paid lucrative amounts of money to do them. However, a chorus of streamers have spoken against it, including Pokimane, Sykkuno, and Asmongold. Asmon has been particularly outspoken about it. However, rather than blaming individual streamers like xQc, he believes the solution is to tackle the root of the problem by making sponsored gambling streams illegal. During a stream on May 18, he also vowed to never “sell out” by hosting a sponsored gambling stream himself, explaining he has no reason to do it because he has plenty of money and it would ruin his reputation. “The reason why I’m not going to take a gambling sponsorship, or I really wouldn’t want to, is that I have no plans on doing that,” he said.“If [a gambling sponsor] offered me $20 million a month, I wouldn’t do it.” Asmon explained that he has “no reason” to do it: “I already have a lot of money, and the real reason why, here’s the truth, and it’s kind of an ego reason, is because I plan to make content for the rest of my life. “I’m not planning on retiring next year. I’m planning on continuing with my company (OTK) and being successful with this for the rest of my life, so why would I sell out [to gambling sponsors] and damage my reputation?” Asmon doesn’t subscribe to the idea that gambling streams are bad content because they’re boring. “Gambling is not bad content. If it were bad content, it wouldn’t be some people’s most popular streams,” he said. However, he does believe that if Twitch continues to let them run rampant on the platform, it will inevitably “hurt” the website and have a negative effect on revenue, support, funding, and in turn, popularity.

  • Asmongold viewers stunned after he uses machete to unbox new Starforge PC – Dexerto

Asmongold viewers stunned after he uses machete to unbox new Starforge PC Twitch: AsmongoldTwitch streamer Asmongold had everyone’s hearts in their mouth when he decided to use a very sharp machete to open his new Starforge Systems gaming PC. Popular streaming organization OTK surprised fans back in August 2022 when it announced it was teaming up with Moistcr1TiKaL to create PC Gaming building company Starforge Systems. Although, there have been some bumps in the road, as the company received heavy backlash over the cost of its products causing the team to quickly work on reducing its prices. So it’s no surprise that when OTK co-founder Asmongold brought out a machete to unbox his new and expensive Starforge PC, fans were worried. Of course, do not try this at home. Asmongold pulls out machete during livestream Asmongold was opening up his new Starforge Systems PC during his livestream on August 1. After having trouble using scissors, he decided to use his machete instead. Although it actually worked well, many viewers were terrified as he cut through the box using the large knife and even nearly cut through his desk chair. As the clip made its way to Twitter, Starforge Systems thanked Asmongold “for showing everyone how not to open their new Starforge Systems computer!” Viewers were understandably shocked by the move wondering if this what always happens when fans buy a Starforge PC. As one fan claimed: “If you buy the most expensive one, Asmon should arrive to open it with the most impractical and dangerous tool he can find in your home.” Although, another fan wasn’t surprised to see Asmongold weilding such a weapon given his MMORPG background: “You would think with all the time spent playing a warrior he would be able to wield a blade much better than that.” Asmongold did manage to successfully unbox the PC using the bizarre method. However, viewers are still urged not to try this at home.

  • Asmongold & Valkyrae blame ads for “killing Twitch” as platform denies 70/30 sub split – Dexerto

Asmongold & Valkyrae blame ads for “killing Twitch” as platform denies 70/30 sub split Twitch/Asmongold/Valkyrae/PixabayStreaming sensations Asmongold and Valkyrae are blaming Twitch’s ads for being a major issue contributor to the platform’s issues amid denying a request for a better subscription split for streamers. The drama at Twitch just refuses to stop. One day after the Amazon-owned platform banned select gambling websites after community backlash, the platform announced that it would not be implemented a long-requested 70/30 revenue split. Instead, beginning in June 2023, larger streamers that did have a 70/30 split will only receive $100,000 of sub-revenue, with anything after this at the regular 50/50 split. Twitch cited the “high cost” of running the site as the reason for not making a 70/30 split the norm for all streamers and this isn’t sitting well with some of the biggest names the streaming world has to offer. Asmongold and Valkyrae destroy Twitch over “excessive” ads Taking to Twitter following the announcement, Asmongold rallied his troops, demanding Twitch “cut the bullsh*t” in regards to a revenue split. “Excessive ads are killing Twitch,” he remarked. “You go to a stream and it says 1/6 ads played, you go to another tab then come back and the video player has crashed.” The World of Warcraft streamer went on to present a call to action for his followers, asking them to “like” the tweet if they’ve ever clicked off a stream because of too many ads. Interestingly, this type of post is what Pokimane made when she began campaigning against Twitch’s gambling streams, and ultimately it ended up working out, albeit not to everyone’s liking. 100 Thieves co-owned Valkyrae also blasted Twitch’s ads, with the YouTuber accusing the platform of being ‘greedy.’ “Killing your viewer base with more ads and hurting the backbone of your company, the creators,” she commented. “We want to see success from both platforms since competition is good but Twitch is throwing.” As the streamer wars continued to heat up and YouTube gains momentum, it will be interesting to see if Twitch backtracks or doubles down on some of its more controversial decisions as of late.

  • Asmongold urges fans to leave Blizzard employees and creators alone amid lawsuit – Dexerto

Asmongold urges fans to leave Blizzard employees and creators alone amid lawsuit AsmongoldTwitch star Asmongold is urging fans of Blizzard to stop harassing the companies employees and content creators after a bombshell lawsuit came out alleging workplace harassment. On July 21, news broke a lawsuit was filed from the state of California against Activision Blizzard over a “pervasive frat-boy culture.” The lawsuit alleges that women at the company were subject to multiple different forms of harassment. The next day, Asmongold reacted to the story while live on Twitch, calling the allegations “shameful” among other things. After his following stream on July 23, he released a video on Twitter urging Blizzard fans to leave their employees and content creators alone for now. Re: Holding Blizzard Employees and Content Creators “accountable” pic.twitter.com/9tcA7N4I5M — Zack (@Asmongold) July 23, 2021 “Obviously, there’s been some disgusting, despicable, sad, disappointing s**t that’s happened today at Blizzard and many people in the most disappointing way have used this information as a means to have a weapon to harass current Blizzard employees and people that are content creators at Blizzard,” the WoW streamer started. “There are people who are saying you should quit your job, you should stop streaming World of Warcraft and I’ll be honest, I feel like these opinions and these things they’re saying and the fact that they use this as a rationalization to harass these individuals is the pinnacle of the word that I hate to use, it’s the pinnacle of privilege.” Asmongold went on, adding: “People relocated sometimes their whole family across the country to go work at Blizzard Entertainment, they might have had a single f***king thing to do with the stuff in this court case, and you expect them to quit their job? Especially some of these women, who are the victims of this expecting them to quit their job because of this situation, abso-f**kin-lutely not.” The OTK member also urged viewers to let the two-year investigation into this “deliver justice” rather than Twitter. He finished the video by highlighting his main point: “If you want to boycott, do it personally, and don’t force that onto other people.” Asmongold has recently taken a step back from streaming World of Warcraft and has been branching out into streaming other MMO’s like Final Fantasy XIV and New World’s beta. Streaming Final Fantasy XIV has brought a huge new wave of fans to both his channel and the game.

  • Asmongold under fire for “changing” stance on Blizzard controversy – Dexerto

Asmongold under fire for “changing” stance on Blizzard controversy Twitch / BlizzardThe popular World of Warcraft streamer got some unwanted attention from the community when he responded on stream to a request from Blizzard to change one of his character’s names. It’s all good until someone messes with the character name. But people on Reddit and YouTube are quick to point out the discrepancy with the replacement. On his October 11 stream, Asmongold quickly pointed out that his Warlock character of 13 years named ‘Krakmonkey’ had its name flagged, and would require a change. Out of protest, he named it something topical to spite Blizzard. With ‘Krakmonkey’ flagged, he renamed his character Freehõngkõng. “Blizzard, if you want to play this game, I’ll play all f*****g day. You want to start this s**t with me? You want to report my Warlock’s name and say that now it’s a problem? Well, you know what else is a problem? Hong Kong.” Asmongold said he would “negotiate” with Blizzard, and said if he could have the Krakmonkey name back then “we can call it even.” Until then, he says while laughing, “I’m a revolutionary.” But viewers on Reddit and YouTube have jumped to point out that Asmongold isn’t actually trying to stand up for Hong Kong, having just days prior to his October 11 stream, defended the decision Blizzard made regarding the blitzchung controversy. In recent days during streams and on Twitter, Asmongold has said that Blizzard were in the right regarding their decision, saying that blitzchung willingly broke what was stated in the contract and thus should be punished. To be very clear, Asmongold is in no way siding with China or disagreeing with the message that blitzchung is communicating, but is siding with Blizzard’s choice on the matter because the Hearthstone player willingly broke the contracted rules, and because he believes Blizzard is willing to take some bad press and boycotts in America rather than risk losing their entire Chinese market. Because of this, his decision to name his character Freehõngkõng as a form of “protest” has not gone over well with people on the internet, who are upset that he has now only changed his tune when one of his character’s names was flagged. On Reddit, several users criticized him for the new character name. User realshottgg wrote “Fakemangold cashing in on tragedy for attention.” Other users mocked him for trying to “stick to Blizzard” while still streaming their game to thousands of people. On various Asmongold highlights YouTube channels, such as Daily Dose of Asmongold and Asmongold Moments, the videos where the streamer discusses his views on the Blizzard controversy are some of the most downvoted, with several comments referring to him as a “shill.” The controversy regarding Blizzard, blitzchung, China, and Hong Kong is likely to come up again in some form at BlizzCon on November 2. Stay tuned to Dexerto for all news up to and including the event.

  • Asmongold claims Twitch star Nadia should be “permanently banned” over doxxing drama – Dexerto

Asmongold claims Twitch star Nadia should be “permanently banned” over doxxing drama Twitch: Asmongold / YouTube: NadiaAfter Twitch star Nadia ‘Nadia’ Amine was temporarily banned on the Amazon-owned platform for “sharing personal information”, fellow streamer ‘Asmongold’ expressed his brutally honest opinions, stating Nadia should have been permanently banned. Nadia was temporarily banned on Twitch on December 14 — with many early fingers pointing towards the countless Call of Duty cheating accusations she’s faced online. However according to her Twitter post, she was banned for 14 days for “sharing personal information”. Nadia was swiftly unbanned after just 6 hours, not even serving a full day of her sentence. The exact reason she was banned was for revealing a donator’s full name on stream, which many labeled as doxxing. By providing the full name of a donator, they’re left vulnerable to very real threats from viewers. In the video, she states “usually people will donate a dollar to me and hate. Daddyslayer, I know you use your name as Daddyslayer, and you said ‘enjoy using cheats,’ but what you don’t know is that when you donate money to me on PayPal, it actually gives me your full name.” She then reveals his full name on Twitch multiple times, concluding by saying, “whatever reason, you find time to actually do something in your f**king life. Because now you look like a f**king idiot.” The ban has divided Twitch’s top stars though. Asmongold believes the streamer should have been permanently banned for her actions: “I watched the clip, she intentionally doxxed him,” he stated. “Should be a permaban without even a question, Amazing that Twitch is struggling with this.” Many agreed with Asmongold’s sentiment. But he took it one step further, calling on his Twitch community to report Nadia’s channel to get her banned again: “I think everyone should report her channel, and she should get banned perma, for sure. At least for a few months.” Twitch has an policy on doxxing in their official guidelines, which states: “Doxxing of any kind is prohibited by Twitch’s Community Guidelines — even if the perpetrators only expose information available via the public record. “If your personally identifiable information (PII) is released on Twitch without your consent, you can file a report and we will investigate and enforce against the doxxer if appropriate.”

  • Tfue and Shroud knocked off the top of Twitch viewership by Asmongold – Dexerto

Tfue and Shroud knocked off the top of Twitch viewership by Asmongold L: Asmongold, R: TwitchPopular World of Warcraft streamer Asmongold dominated the Twitch charts in August off the back of WoW Classic’s immensely popular launch. Twitch has recently seen a major shake-up with the launch of WoW Classic, which offers players the chance to relive Blizzard’s immensely popular MMO as it was in its original, pre-expansion state. As well as the game seeing a massive response from players – so much so that Blizzard have been forced to take several measures to address the incredibly long log-in queues that some have been experiencing – that interest has also spilled over to Twitch, with the World of Warcraft category hitting over 1 million viewers on launch day. At the forefront of WoW Classic streaming has been Asmongold, a long-time World of Warcraft streamer who has been at the top of the category any time he’s live, peaking at over 300,000 at the game’s release. Despite only having launched on August 27, however, the incredibly high interest in the game meant that Asmongold – incredibly popular in his own right, but not usually topping the charts – was the most-viewed streamer of the entire month by hours watched, as revealed by StreamElements and SullyGnome. Beneath Asmongold, the other most-watched names will likely be familiar to frequent Twitch viewers. In the absence of Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins, Fortnite pro Turney ‘Tfue’ Tenney reigns supreme as the undisputed king of Epic Games’ enormously popular battle royale on Twitch. Beneath him, there’s a fairly steep drop off to the rest of the pack, led by former Overwatch pro Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel and followed closely by Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek – who has also dived into WoW Classic since its launch, a decision that might have hurt his viewer and subscriber figures. Brazilian former CS:GO pro Alexandre ‘Gaules’ Borba rounds out the top five, making him the most-watched non-English speaker on the platform, joined only by German streamer MontanaBlack88 in the top 10. Though Asmongold rode WoW Classic’s success to top the individual charts, as a category World of Warcraft didn’t quite beat out established Twitch leaders Fortnite and League of Legends, while Dota 2’s The International, which also took place in August, helped it to third place. With WoW Classic showing no signs of diminishing just yet, however – remaining at or near the top of Twitch almost every day since its launch – it would be no great surprise to see the game claiming the top spot for September.

  • Asmongold thinks Dr Disrespect is making a “huge mistake” with “scam” NFTs in his game – Dexerto

Asmongold thinks Dr Disrespect is making a “huge mistake” with “scam” NFTs in his game Asmongold, Dr DisrespectTwitch star Asmongold explained why he believes YouTube star Dr Disrespect having NFT integration in his upcoming game is a “huge mistake” by claiming the choice could “hurt people’s perception” of him. Asmongold has not held back when pointing out how much he dislikes NFTs, or Non-fungible tokens. In the past, he’s called them “ridiculous” and “worse than astrology,” and has been skeptical of cryptocurrency in general. Naturally, after Dr Disrespect’s game studio Midnight Society revealed they’d have NFT integration, Asmongold shared his thoughts about the announcement on stream. Asmongold warns Dr Disrespect about NFTs The 30-year-old Twitch streamer was live on March 16 when he dug into the news of the day, highlighted by Dr Disrespect’s new game. Asmongold reiterated his belief that NFTs are a “scam” and said they are “Beanie Babies for the 2020s.” While he isn’t a fan of the new technology, he didn’t pin Midnight Society’s NFT integration all on The Doc. “I think there’s a good chance that Doc might not be the biggest fan of NFTs either. Just his marketing, or production, or development thinks this is a really good idea. And so, he’s the face of the product, he has to kind of defend it. It sucks to be in that position, and that’s just what happens when you’re in a big organization.” Asmon went on to say he believes the move could hurt Dr Disrespect’s public image, as he’s grown to build trust with his audience over the years. “What are the virtues that Doc has that make people excited about his content? He is a big content creator, and to a certain degree authentic about who he is, even though who he is is a joke. If you remove and change that authenticity into doing something like NFTs or whatever, that really hurts people’s perception. Because it is fundamental to the image that he’s created.” Asmongold finished calling the implementation of NFTs into Midnight Society’s game a “huge mistake.” Dr Disrespect has defended the game’s use of NFTs by saying “you don’t have to have NFTs to play the game.” Despite how Midnight Society has decided to incorporate NFTs, Asmongold doesn’t think it’s worth it as the public’s perception of the technology has already soured.

Asmongold thanks Twitch fans for support during “worst months” of his life YouTube: ZackRawrrTwitch streamer Asmongold has praised his fans for the overwhelming support they’ve given him during one of the “worst months” of his life. Over the years, Asmongold has become one of the most recognizable faces on Twitch, garnering a loyal and dedicated community who tune into every single one of his streams. This means when he takes a break or doesn’t stream on his usual schedule, they immediately become concerned something is wrong. Well, after taking a break for personal reasons and his mum getting ill later in the month, Asmon described September as one of the “worst months” of his life. However, he took the time to thank his community for all the support they’ve given him during this tough period. Asmongold praises Twitch fans for their support Although Asmon had revealed his mum was feeling unwell, it was only on September 18 that he shared that he’d had to take her to the hospital. At the time, he still wasn’t sure what was wrong and notified his followers that he’d update them on her condition when he knew more. This post received an outpouring of support from his community, with countless messages wishing Asmon and his mum well. Had to take my mom to the hospital last night, she’s still there. Not sure what’s wrong yet but it’s not Covid Will update when I know more — Zack (@Asmongold) September 18, 2021 On September 21, Asmon updated his community with the amazing news that his mum was home from the hospital. Although her condition hadn’t changed much, she’d improved slightly and a follow appointment had been set up this week. He then took the time to explain that this likely wouldn’t be the last health scare she’d suffer and that this had been one of the worst months of his life. However, despite the challenges he and his mum are facing, he took the time to thank his community for the overwhelming support they’d shown recently. “This has been one of the worst months of my life (so far) and I wanted to thank all of you for being so supportive.” I also want to say that this is definitely not the end of this saga, unfortunately. I’m doing my best to help her and will also probably hire other help as well This has been one of the worst months of my life (so far) and I wanted to thank all of you for being so supportive — Zack (@Asmongold) September 21, 2021 After years of getting to know Asmon and enjoying his content, it’s obvious his community care a lot about him and his family. Hundreds of comments on the thread have been left by fans, wishing him well and reminding him to take another break if he needs it. • Asmongold taking “break” from Twitch just days after suddenly ending Diablo 4 stream – Dexerto

Asmongold taking “break” from Twitch just days after suddenly ending Diablo 4 stream Blizzard/Twitch/AsmongoldLegendary Twitch streamer Asmongold has announced he is taking another break from broadcasting mere days after leaving fans concerned by suddenly ending his Diablo 4 broadcast. Asmongold finally returned to his main Twitch channel for the first time since December 2022 to celebrate the launch of Diablo 4, but it seems like the account will be dormant once again. The Twitch streamer has been very open about dealing with anxiety and other mental health issues recently, even revealing that he had to delay a broadcast on his alternate account due to a panic attack. Now, according to the OTK co-owner, he’s going to be taking another break from streaming and explained why he suddenly ended his Diablo 4 stream. Asmongold reveals why he randomly stopped streaming Diablo 4 In a post on Asmongold’s Reddit, the streamer explained that anxiety and stress made him want to stop streaming the game – and he feels absolutely awful about it. “If you’re one of the people who feels like this is stupid, embarrassing, or pathetic, you’re in good company, because I feel the exact same way. It’s astonishing to me that this is even a problem in my life, and I hate myself for indulging in it,” he said. Asmongold further added that he hadn’t even hopped on D4 for more than two hours since ending the broadcast early, despite being very excited to finally play it. The Twitch icon also delved into his attempts to deal with the streaming issues to no avail, saying that everything he tried – from taking medication to talking about it with peers – had a minimal effect. However, despite plans to stop streaming on his main account until he is mentally ready, Asmongold says he will stream the OTK Games Expo on the 10th and return to his alternate channel Zackrawrr when he’s back home. Asmongold returns and assures fans he’s “totally fine” On the following day from his Reddit post, Asmongold took himself to an emergency room. As it turns out, his written post didn’t quite paint the full picture. On top of the mental health struggle, he revealed in a June 5 Twitter video that specific pain in his leg forced him off of Twitch. “I woke up and I had some pain in my leg. I was stressed out, I was worried. You sit down for a long time, you’ve got pain in your leg, that could be a blood clot. That scared the f*** out of me.” However, after visiting the emergency room and getting thoroughly tested, Asmon is now confident all is okay. Moving forward, he’ll be looking to lead a somewhat healthier lifestyle. You can catch up on Asmon’s full return to social media here.

  • Asmongold taking Twitch break after saving his mom from “terrifying” fire – Dexerto

Asmongold taking Twitch break after saving his mom from “terrifying” fire Twitch: AsmongoldAsmongold reveals he’s taking another break from Twitch streaming after saving his mother from a “terrifying” fire caused by her oxygen tank igniting, admitting he has no idea when he may return following the scare. The star Twitch streamer revealed on October 7 that he would be taking an indefinite break from his broadcasting schedule — just a week after ending his last hiatus — following a “terrifying” scare where his mother’s oxygen tank caught fire and nearly exploded while he was resting. Asmongold had just had a frustrating stream, he said, and went to lay down. While he was resting, the Twitch star heard “a really loud crash”. Several flashing lights followed soon after, and he rushed into his mother’s room. “Turns out,” he explained, “she had been smoking a little too close to her oxygen machine. There’s fire everywhere, on her, and I had to put all that out.” “The fire was on the little oxygen tube, it was going to the tank. It was like some kind of cartoon where the fire is going to the bomb… I immediately turned off the tank, I was able to stop it from exploding and all that. Then I put the fire out that was on the floor. It was everywhere. “I freaked out. I didn’t know if she was going to live. “It’s one of the scariest experiences I’ve had in my life. I don’t think I’ll ever forget it. I can’t even wrap my head around how the stars aligned for me to be there.” “What I keep coming back to,” he continued, “is that everything had to align for me to be there to save her. If I hadn’t streamed at that time, gone in that day, got stressed out on my stream, and laid down, she’d probably be dead. “I wouldn’t have heard any of it at all while I was upstairs. “It’s terrifying, and really weird how incredibly lucky it was I was there. I keep replaying the situation in my head, four times an hour. I can’t believe it happened.” Asmongold confirmed he will not be streaming for some time as he deals with the fallout of the incident, and comes to terms with the near-death scare. “I’ll be back when I’ll be back,” he said. “I wanted to make this video to tell everybody what happened in the most raw way possible. I can’t give you guys a timeframe, sorry. Sooner, rather than later, I would say, but when I know I’ll give you a date for when I’ll be coming back to my main streams. As soon as I know, you’ll know too. “There was a point where I didn’t even know whether she was still alive. It was just so scary. Thank you for the positive, uplifting messages. It means so much.”

  • Asmongold, SweetAnita, & more call out “disrespectful” Twitch ad incentive program – Dexerto

Asmongold, SweetAnita, & more call out “disrespectful” Twitch ad incentive program Twitch has rolled out its new ad incentive program to a large group of streamers, but some of the platform’s largest creators – including Asmongold and SweetAnita – aren’t happy with Twitch’s “disrespectful” incentives. As the title states, the Twitch ad incentive program incentivizes streamers to run more ads per hour by offering them large sums of money per month. That sum increases as streamers run more and more ads per hour. However, a large portion of the streaming community has expressed their discontent with Twitch’s expectations when it comes to the duration of ads. Others have shared they think the incentives for running ads are laughable. There are also streamers who are conflicted as Twitch is offering a considerable amount of money in exchange for 5-8 minutes of ad time per hour. Now, larger streamers like Asmongold, SweetAnita, and Distortion2 have weighed in on the latest platform news. Twitch streamers feel “disrespected” by new ad incentives The rumbling of further disappointment in Twitch’s revenue schemes began late on October 15 as streamers shared screenshots of the ad incentives offered to them. It quickly became a trend, with streamers comparing their ad revenue from months prior, what each incentive offered, and how enticing these deals seemed. SweetAnita was one streamer who showed how much she made from ad revenue in a month compared to her new ad incentive deal. Twitch’s new program offered her $1,096 a month to run 4 mins of ads each hour. However, she showed that a month prior she ran fewer ads and made $1,173. Distortion2 – a prominent streamer in the Soulsborne speedrunning space – showed two of the incentives he was being offered. Twitch was willing to pay him $2,581 to stream 1 minute of ads per hour, but if he streamed 3 mins of ads per hour they would pay him $2,591. When looking at his metrics, that’s an extra $10 of revenue in exchange for 294 minutes of ad time. Asmongold and BoomerNA were among those who felt the increased ad time incentives are lethal to the platform. “Twitch is effectively paying streamers to kill their channel and ultimately the website,” Asmon wrote. BoomerNA shared the incentives Twitch offered him stating, “The ad incentive now STARTS at 5 mins. Bro that was the MAX before.” He also questioned whether this new program was a way for Twitch to take itself down. However, there are streamers who are having a difficult time turning down Twitch’s incentives. Vtuber MeowMoonified shared their incentives showing that Twitch was offering a 300%+ increase in monthly revenue if the streamer chose to run 3 or 4 minutes of ads per hour. Meow wrote, “this is f***n painful to reject, at least the higher offer, but I refuse to make my peeps sit thru 4 minutes of ads every stream.” That being said, the replies from her community are mostly supportive and urge her to the higher ad incentive deal. These are just a few examples selected from the numerous streamers sharing their disappointment in the Twitch ad incentive program. With deals ranging from $14 per minute of ads to $2k+ per minute, the complaints also have a great deal of diversity. Regardless, it’s apparent that Twitch’s streamers don’t want to run ads to interrupt their viewer’s experiences. We will just have to wait and see how Twitch responds to the backlash this time.

  • Asmongold supports Doja Cat amid fan backlash: “What a bunch of entitled freaks” – Dexerto

Asmongold supports Doja Cat amid fan backlash: “What a bunch of entitled freaks” Instagram: dojacat / YouTube: Asmongold TV / Twitter: PopBaseFollowing the backlash Doja Cat received after telling fans she doesn’t love them, Asmongold has chimed in to support the singer and call out “entitled” fans. Doja Cat has been receiving mass backlash after stating she doesn’t love her fans and telling them to “get a job and help your parents with the house.” Although seemingly unbothered, the singer has lost more than 200,00 followers on Instagram over the ordeal. Now popular Twitch streamer and YouTuber ‘Asmongold’ has spoken up in her defense, calling her entitled fans “freaks.” Best known for his World of Warcraft gameplay, Asmongold briefly switched industries to discuss the scandal currently taking the music world by storm. “What a weird f***ing message, of course, she says ‘I don’t love you,’” Asmongold said, discussing a comment in which a fan account asked Doja Cat to express her love for her supporters. Putting himself in the singer’s shoes, Asmongold said, “Yeah, I would be like ‘b****, I don’t f***ing know you’, leave me alone. That s*** is weird… how is she in the wrong?” Asmongold went on to call Doja Cat’s fans a “bunch of entitled freaks,” criticizing fanbases for their obsession with celebrities, and calling the Say So singer “based as f***.” However, he did agree that Doja Cat should have avoided scolding fans for calling themselves “kitten” and “kittenz” as she had previously used the term to describe her fanbase. “Definitely stupid to say,” he said. Nonetheless, he stuck by the singer and stated the deleted fan accounts had probably helped fans go “outside,” believing Doja Cat was therefore “making the world a better place.” For all the latest entertainment news, be sure to check out our page here.

  • Asmongold suggests new Twitter “ratio” feature that could ban Dr Disrespect’s account – Dexerto

Asmongold suggests new Twitter “ratio” feature that could ban Dr Disrespect’s account Freepik/Asmongold/DrDisrespectTwitch streaming sensation Asmongold has pitched a new Twitter feature that could end up resulting in Dr Disrespect being banned from yet another platform. Dr Disrespect’s Twitch ban in the summer of 2020 remains one of the most bizarre streaming mysteries of all time with seemingly no one but Doc and the Amazon-owned platform knowing why he was banned. However, if Asmongold had his way with a new Twitter feature, Dr Disrespect would be banned from the platform and everyone would know exactly why: a failed ratio. On August 30, the award-winning MMORPG streamer explained that he’d like to see Twitter implement a feature where failed “ratios” would result in a banned account and the two-time took the bait hook line and sinker. Asmongold wants Twitter users banned for failed “ratios” On social media, a “ratio” occurs when a comment has more likes than the main post, seemingly, but not always, suggesting that more people agree with the comment than the original. Some people take ratios a bit too seriously, but for many, it’s just a typical part of bantering on social media sites such as Twitter. Still, for Asmongold, the whole thing seems to have run its course. In a post on Twitter, Asmongold suggested that the site implement a new feature where a failed result would result in their account being automatically banned. The post started getting traction and even got the attention of Dr Disrespect who tried to ratio the World of Warcraft streamer himself writing: “out played, out ratioed by the 2x.” Unfortunately for Doc, his ratio was a failed one, which, by Asmongold’s own rules, would mean that the 6’8 freak of nature, he would be barred from tweeting and sent back to the arena without a Twitter account. Even One True King got in on the action and suggested the two-time deactivate his account following the failed attempt. Of course, it’s unlikely that Twitter decides to implement Asmongold’s idea, but if the company ever ends up changing hands to someone such as Elon Musk, you never know what could happen.

  • Asmongold suggests Adin Ross set up “fake” swatting on Twitch – Dexerto

Asmongold suggests Adin Ross set up “fake” swatting on Twitch Instagram: adinross / Twitch: AsmongoldTwitch streamer Adin Ross was “scared sh*tless” after a fan reportedly called a SWAT team on him during an IRL stream, but OTK’s Asmongold believes the whole affair was faked. Adin Ross has exploded onto the Twitch scene in 2021, but with popularity has come controversy. After ‘beef’ with streamers including Ludwig Ahgren, QTCinderella, and Chance ‘sodapoppin’ Morris, he was banned on July 8 for using his phone while driving. He was unbanned just two days later, after Jake ‘JakeNBakelive’ Abramson, who had been banned for a week for similar offences, had called Twitch out for double standards. The IRL streamer was in the firing line once more after he was swatted by police live on his July 10 Twitch stream. But Asmongold is skeptical of Ross’ allegations that a fan organized the swatting, and believes the entire situation to be “fake”. “Honestly huge shoutout for setting up the entire fake arrest thing, genuinely,” he tweeted, sarcastically. “Takes a ton of effort to organize and plan, not to mention pull off. Most streamers can’t even manage to go live on time” https://twitter.com/Asmongold/status/1414046393606545409 Asmon isn’t the first person to accuse Ross of faking the situation, as Ross himself has already pleaded with fans that he would never set up a fake swatting himself. “I was scared shitless,” he said. “One of you guys called fake cops to come and fake arrest me… But for real though, someone called a real SWAT team during the actual rooftop meetup and whoever did that is a real piece of sh*t.” Bro 😂 that arrest was fake I was scared shitless. Bruh, one of u guys called fake cops to come and fake arrest me .. y’all weird asf. But fr tho Someone called a real swat team during the actual rooftop meetup and whoever did that is a real piece of 💩 — adin (@adinross) July 11, 2021 This affair is also not the first time Ross has faced accusations of faking incidents for attention. Amid the FaZe Clan cryptocurrency scam, where influencers were accused of “pumping and dumping” the Save the Children crypto coin, “beef” between Ross and FaZe associate Bryan ‘Ricegum’ Quang Le arose. Streamers such as Hasan Piker then accused Ross and Ricegum of “faking” the beef to distract from the crypto controversy, but these accusations were denied by FaZe co-founder Richard ‘Banks’ Benson. As we will likely never know for sure whether Ross is telling the truth about the swatting, it’s unlikely that the accusations of faking the situation will simply disappear.

Asmongold stuns fans after cleaning room for “the first time in years” Twitch/ Twitter: AsmongoldTwitch streamer Asmongold decided to give his room a well-needed clean and fans couldn’t believe the difference when he shared the results on Twitter. Being a streamer can sometimes mean spending long days in front of the camera with very little time to do anything else, including cleaning. Twitch star Asmongold has found himself under fire in the past from his chat who have joked about the state of his room, seen hiding behind him during his livestreams. So, he set to work to do something about it. After giving his room a bit of a sprucing, Asmongold shared his incredible results with his surprised fans. Asmongold shares room transformation following deep clean On July 27, Asmongold took to Twitter to share the before and after pictures of his setup following on from his deep clean. The streamer also claimed that it was the first time he’d made the change “in years.” The ‘before’ picture showed a huge pile of items gathered up in the corner of his room. This included everything from clothes, to headphones, to empty drink boxes. In comparison, his ‘after’ picture revealed that a coffee table was hidden underneath the mound of items. With the rubbish all gone, Asmongold now has a useable and relaxing lounge area complete with a few signature OTK crowns. Asmongold’s fans praised him for the change and his hard work as the tweet picked up 48.4k likes as of writing. His friend and Vtubing star Ironmouse also sent her support: “Space is looking good! Great work and I’m so happy for you! I know sh*t is hard sometimes. You got this!” Asmongold may have had some difficult times after struggling with his sleeping pattern. However, many fans are seeing his setup transformation as well as his dedication to WoW Dragonflight as a sign that things are on the up for him again.

  • Asmongold left stunned after Sodapoppin pulls off epic WoW Classic gank – Dexerto

Asmongold left stunned after Sodapoppin pulls off epic WoW Classic gank World of Warcraft streamers around at the moment, it’s always hilarious when Asmongold and Sodapoppin come together at the same time on-stream, whether its to work together, or to lock horns. This latest meeting outside the halls of Blackrock Mountain was no different, after Soda’s raid group stumbled across Asmongold as he was preparing to wrap up his broadcast. At first, the WoW star didn’t realize he was about to get piled on by the arriving players, and was speaking about how many current gamers will soon quit the game as the grind continues on. He soon changed his attention as he was attacked. “That’s right, three at a time…” Asmon said as the first members of the guild rolled down the hill and started attacking him. His annoyance soon turned to shock as Soda and the rest of his group arrived, swarming and killing Asmon. “What the f*ck? Hey, hey! What the…?” Needless to say, the WoW star was shocked. Soda and his guild continued on almost without a second thought as they left Asmon dead at the entrance to Molten Core, with only one member, ‘Fredx,’ even taking a second look at the Twitch streamer’s corpse. After releasing his spirit, the ganked streamer let lose on Soda and his raid group, suggesting they needed every single one of the two-dozen characters to make sure he was dead in the surprise attack. Read more: HAchubby breaks down after Twitch doxxing – “They needed a full raid to beat me,” he said. “Even the four-vs-one wasn’t enough, they had to bring in the whole raid. Disgusting. Absolutely f*cking disgusting.” The brutal surprise attack isn’t the only time since the release of WoW Classic that Sodapoppin has pulled off a sneaky gank on Asmongold either — Soda took full advantage of Asmon AFKing by killing his character and humping his corpse. Considering he’s come off second best a few times now at the hands of his fellow Twitch star, Asmongold may be considering revenge sometime soon. Either way, both WoW streamers should probably get used to watching their backs — who knows which one could attack next.

Despite being the World of Warcraft king on Twitch, Asmongold hopped on Final Fantasy XIV in July 2021 and was immediately blown away by how good it is and how many viewers were tuning in to watch his new adventures. He’s had a blast ever since, and the community has loved every minute of it. So, when he finally reached the content in the game’s first expansion, Heavensward, they wanted to surprise him with a huge welcoming party – and it blew him away! “Oh my god. This is incredible! This is absolutely incredible!” he said as he panned the camera in awe.“Look at them all! You can’t even see them all. There are so many people here! And [the settings] are turned up to the max as well.” He thanked fans for the fantastic effort and struggled to find the words to describe what he was seeing. But eventually, he was able to string some together and said, “This is unbelievable! I’ve never seen anything like this before.” It’s not the first time Final Fantasy XIV players have done something like this. They assembled a huge crowd to welcome Jaryd ‘Summit1g’ Lazar to the game, as well. But according to one fan, Asmongold’s was the biggest. “This time, it was so massive,” he said. “There was the crowd noise, the line went almost all the way to the city, and there was a huge line in the city too. Really amazing, and I’m proud that Asmongold reached Heavensward!” Moments like this are what make MMORPG games so unique. With so many interesting players and characters who have an entire world at their disposal, the opportunities to create memorable moments are limitless.

Asmongold speaks out on “shameful” Activision Blizzard allegations Twitch sensation Asmongold is known for his complex relationship with World of Warcraft developers, Activision Blizzard, and has spoken out regarding the ongoing lawsuit against the company. It has been revealed that gaming behemoth Activision Blizzard is being sued by the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (CDFH) for fostering a “pervasive frat boy culture.” Uncovering that many female employees have been subject to sexual harassment and lower paychecks, the CDFH report reveals that one employee took her own life during a work trip due to a sexual relationship with her male supervisor. Twitch streamer and longtime World of Warcraft player, Asmongold, who has had a very publicly tense relationship with AB, has given his thoughts. Asmongold calls Activision Blizzard “shameful” In a tweet from July 21 just after the news broke, Asmongold has called out the company for their “shameful” behavior. “Shameful to hear about what’s been reportedly going on at Blizzard,” he writes. “As a 20+ year fan it really hurts to see how things have devolved in such an awful way.” Concluding that it “just makes me sad,” the tweet may be short, but the message behind it is incredibly powerful. Shameful to hear about what’s been reportedly going on at Blizzard As a 20+ year fan it really hurts to see how things have devolved in such an awful way Just makes me sad. — Zack (@Asmongold) July 22, 2021 Streamers rally against Activision Blizzard Asmongold isn’t the only content creator to have spoken out about the ongoing investigation, however. Streamers who focus on both Activision and Blizzard titles have also had their say. OpTic’s CoD focused creator Davis ‘Hitch’ Edwards writes that the situation “makes him sick,” and asks “how f**king hard is it not to treat people like s**t?” that activision shit makes me sick. how fkn hard is it to not treat people like shit? be better — OpTic Hitch (@hitchariide) July 22, 2021 YouTuber OrdinaryGamers has encouraged players to “uninstall Warzone and start playing a game from their competitors,” otherwise the company “ain’t gonna do f**kall.” Also WoW as well but everyone’s already switching to ff14 anyways. — Mutahar (@OrdinaryGamers) July 22, 2021 Finally, Twitch streamer Katie ‘Pikachulita’ Robinson writes “welcome to our reality,” noting “unfortunately, for women- especially us black women- the lawsuit against Activision Blizzard isn’t even remotely surprising.” https://twitter.com/PikaChulita/status/1418043491901399040 It’ll be interesting to see whether or not Asmongold addresses this situation on stream. He’s actively addressed one of Blizzard’s devs calling him an “a**hole,” and isn’t one to shy away from controversial topics. In a statement to IGN, Activision Blizzard has said “We value diversity and strive to foster a workplace that offers inclusivity for everyone. There is no place in our company or industry, or any industry, for sexual misconduct or harassment of any kind.” They also claim that “The DFEH includes distorted, and in many cases false, descriptions of Blizzard’s past.”

  • Asmongold slams “sh*tty” mobile games for editing him into ads – Dexerto

Asmongold slams “sh*tty” mobile games for editing him into ads Twitch/AsmongoldPopular Twitch streamer Asmongold is hitting out at mobile game companies for editing him into their ads without permission. The Twitch react meta has taken the internet by storm in recent weeks with lots of drama unfolding as a result. Numerous bans, controversies, and a plethora of DMCA-related questions have sprung up. Now, it would seem like the react meta has evolved in a sense as mobile games companies have started adding well-known streamers to their ads even if they never reacted to the games before. Asmongold, in particular, has become the latest victim and took to Twitter to showcase this. The Asmongold reaction meta so strong that companies edit me “”reacting”” to their advertisements to legitimize their shitty mobile games pic.twitter.com/vcDbdbchNP — Zack (@Asmongold) January 14, 2022 In a screenshot, the mobile game is showing off gameplay while Asmongold is in the left corner of the stream with a grin on his face. It’s unclear what stream the mobile game got the Asmongold reaction from, but according to the Twitch star, it’s not real. “The Asmongold reaction meta so strong that companies edit me ‘reacting’ to their advertisements to legitimize their sh*tty mobile games,” he said. In the comments, users pointed out that this has been happening to others as well. In one video, a company edited YouTuber Rogersbase’s reaction to a Smash Ultimate announcement into their ad. https://twitter.com/RogersBase/status/1480970523941036034 While Asmongold hasn’t said if he will take legal action against the game, it will be interesting to see if the company pulls the ad after he called them out on social media to his 600,000 followers. As the react meta continues to flourish, we could also end up seeing even more streamers having their reactions stolen and used to promote content without permission. We’ll just have to see how it goes as 2022 continues to roll on.

  • Asmongold slams “ridiculous” people who spend thousands on NFTs – Dexerto

Asmongold slams “ridiculous” people who spend thousands on NFTs Twitch: Asmongold / PixabayTwitch star Asmongold isn’t afraid to voice his opinions on topical matters, and now, the rise of NFTs has moved into his crosshair. However, his views on blockchain technology aren’t sitting well with everyone. The exponential rise of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology has become a daily topic of conversation the internet, with views about them being split across the board. Many influencers have gotten involved with Bitcoin, Altcoins, and NFTs – with the latter being a major source of controversy for some, especially as they creep further into the gaming sphere. Non-fungible tokens are cryptographic tokens, normally depicting an image or moment. However, due to their “fungible” nature, they can’t be exchanged for other NFTs. Instead, they are traded for different blockchain. Asmongold slams “ridiculous” NFTs In the case of Asmongold, he sees “the value” in NFTs “as technology,” however he isn’t entirely convinced on them as a whole. “Am I the only one who finds people scrambling to spend thousands of dollars on a picture of a monkey ridiculous?” asked the content creator, addressing the functionality of NFTs to his audience. Furthermore, Asmongold added: “Am I out of touch, or have people lost their minds?” I see the value of blockchain and NFT’s as a technology BUT Am I the only one who finds people scrambling to spend thousands of dollars on a picture of a monkey ridiculous? Am I out of touch or have people lost their minds? — Zack (@Asmongold) November 28, 2021 One commenter, in particular, took issue with Asmongold’s statement: “Of course it sounds ridiculous when you phrase it like that. But you can say the same thing for WoW.” They didn’t stop taking shots there either, adding “Am I the only one who finds people scrambling to spend thousands of dollars on a game they already paid for, to keep playing it?” Another comment said: “Same could be said about people spending money to watch other people play video games.” Despite some backlash, most commenters have shown a collective agreement on Asmongold’s views: “The technology will evolve and be very valuable but yes, things like BAYC and profile pic NFTs are cringe. Agreed.” With NFTs continuing to rise in popularity, we’re sure Asmongold won’t be releasing his own soon.

  • Asmongold slams “PlayStation Fanboy” FTC after Microsoft-Activision injunction – Dexerto

Asmongold slams “PlayStation Fanboy” FTC after Microsoft-Activision injunction YouTube/Asmongold ClipsAsmongold flamed the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for blocking the Microsoft and Activision Blizzard merger, stating that they “turn a blind eye” to Google and Apple stores having “99% market share” in the app space, and asking “is the FTC full of PlayStation fanboys?” Activision-Blizzard acquisition by Microsoft was announced back in January of 2022, but the merger seems to run into problems at every turn. The newest obstacle in the way seems to be the report that the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) will file an injunction to block the Microsoft’sacquisition of Activision Blizzard. Asmongold, who has been following this project since its inception, was outraged by the FTC’s decision, as he thinks the FTC has let bigger monopolies form in the United States. His full Tweet reads: “How the f**k are these clowns doing this but somehow turn a blind eye when the Google play store and Apple play store have 99% market share on the monetization and distribution of smartphone apps? Something nearly every American uses. Is the FTC full of PlayStation fanboys?” Twitter reacts to Asmongold slamming the FTC’s decision Users of Twitter were split in their reaction to Asmongold’s opinion, with some siding with the Twitch streamer, bringing up examples of big company monopolies that formed within FTC’s reach. “Good question. It keeps going back and forth, and by the way things are going who knows? Disney got away with literally any purchase they make,” wrote one user. Some others disagreed with Asmongold, though, supporting the FTC in stopping the deal from going through. “Well, it’s a good time to stop these monopolies, with an injunction,” said one user, underlining that the FTC’s decision will stop a possible monopoly from forming and growing later down the line. The merger between Microsoft and Activision-Blizzard is going to take quite a while to complete it seems, and there is very little to do other than to wait and see how things will ultimately shake out.

  • Asmongold slams gaming microtransactions: “Lootboxes should be illegal” – Dexerto

Asmongold slams gaming microtransactions: “Lootboxes should be illegal” AsmongoldTwitch star Asmongold explained why he believes “lootboxes should be illegal,” and why the government should take more action against microtransactions because of people’s lack of “self-control.” Asmongold is not a fan of pay-to-win mechanics and microtransactions as a whole in MMOs. On March 20, he made a call to all MMO players to band together and stand against microtransactions, “I wish the player bases could get together and say they don’t like this and just kind of shut it down.” Now, he’s expanded on his thoughts on how harmful microtransactions are, and why there should be more laws against them. Asmongold hits out at lootboxes and microtransactions The 30-year old streamer was live on March 24 when he explained why more needs to be done to regulate microtransactions. “I think that it needs to be regulated by the government. Because, here’s why, I don’t believe people will ever be able to exhibit self-control. Gambling has been a way to lose your money for thousands of years, and people are doing it today. Even though there are thousands of years of cases of ‘Hey, this is bad’, people still do it.” He also said flat-out that, “Lootboxes should be illegal.” Time starts at 7:03 for mobile users Asmon also hit out at in-game currency, “I think there should be no currencies allowed in video games that can be converted to real money without actually having the dollar amount shown next to it.” He finished his thoughts by saying, “I find it to be incredibly disingenuous that companies create secondary currencies that are used to obfuscate and muddy the waters interpretation of how much money they’re spending in order to manipulate them to spend more money.” While the OTK streamer has been a huge fan of Lost Ark’s gameplay, he hasn’t loved some of the “pay-to-win” elements in the MMO, and is hopeful new laws can be set in place to protect gamers from “predatory” practices.

  • Asmongold slams fans after complaints about WoW Classic loot mechanics – Dexerto

Asmongold slams fans after complaints about WoW Classic loot mechanics Asmongold, Twitch / Activision-BlizzardAsmongold has unloaded on fans after repetitive complaints regarding a divisive loot mechanic in World of Warcraft Classic, and the Twitch star’s defence of its use, even going so far as to threaten permabans for members of his community. Since the release of Blizzard’s WoW Classic, Asmongold has been hard at work grinding the MMORPG, levelling up to the max cap and defeating Ragnaros in the level 60 raid. Although most of his time on and off-stream has been dedicated to the game, the WoW personality came under fire during the height of the title’s popularity due to the way that he skipped the grind by accepting gifts. Some even dubbed his return to Azeroth a “failure.” Now Asmongold has clearly had enough of his chat weighing in on how he and his friends should play the game, threatening to swing the banhammer during his October 1 stream. In particular, he appeared to have grown tired of his Twitch chat repeatedly bringing up his guild member Royson’s choice to use the much-maligned ‘ninja looting’ mechanic to collect rare and powerful pieces of equipment recently, after telling the rest of the party not to use it. “If you’re talking shit in chat, I’m literally just going to permaban you, you’re just going to get permabanned, and if I see your logs I’m going to re-permaban you. That’s it,” Asmongold said after his guild member’s looting choice was again raised in chat. “We like to have fun and chill out on the stream, people that get really mad … get upset and pissed off about all the slightest smallest things and make mountains out of molehills every day, I’m just going to permaban you. It’s really just that simple. It’s just that f*cking simple.” The ninja looting drama first flared up after Royson told his raiding party to choose the ‘greed’ loot choice, which indicates you want the item, but don’t necessarily need it. Royson then selected ‘need,’ which overrides greed, to collect the Bind on Equip purple weapon. The WoW community collected their pitchforks following the event, demanding Royson be banned by Blizzard. Asmongold defended his guild member’s choice, and eventually lead community accuser Quin69 and Royson had a duel, which saw the accused player defeated. For mobile users, the duel segment starts at 19:10. It may not have been an official punishment from the developers, but the much-spectated duel seemed to have at least partially served justice amongst the WoW community. Now Asmongold is just left dealing with the ongoing fallout in his streaming chat. Asmongold and Royson aren’t the only players to take advantage of ways to earn gold and equipment in-game either. Fellow Twitch star Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel recently tried his hand at using his streaming fame to farm gold, though it worked out rather poorly in the end.

  • Asmongold slams “d*ckhead” FaZe Rain over Grace Van Dien drama – Dexerto

Asmongold slams “d*ckhead” FaZe Rain over Grace Van Dien drama Twitch: Asmongold/Grace Van DienAsmongold took a few swipes at FaZe Clan and FaZe Rain over the Grace Van Dien saga, claiming the organization is just using her to “clean up” and be “damage control” for all their “f*ck ups”. For a couple of weeks, long-standing FaZe Clan members have been frustrated with how the organization has been run, with a number of them publicly calling out the new owners and leaders. Despite that, the esports and gaming org has continued to add new members. That includes actress Grace Van Dien, who goes by bluefille on Twitch and Valorant, which has prompted more complaints from the ‘OG’ FaZe members. FaZe Rain has been the main one, firstly spoiling her announcement days before it happened, and then getting into a war of words with the Stranger Things actress. The pair looked to squash the beef as they met up for a video, however, that just led to Grace threatening to leave FaZe as she got rather emotional. Asmongold slams FaZe for using Grace Van Dein to clean up their “f*ck ups” Asmongold, who runs the OTK org, watched the confirmation during his May 31 stream, and he didn’t hold back when it came to ripping FaZe and FaZe Rain. “They hired her and gave her a bunch of f*cking money to act like a broom to clean up all these crackheads and their f*ck ups. FaZe Clan has had fuck ups for 10 years, and they hire her to play damage control for a bunch of f*cking crackheads,” he said on his ZackRawrr channel, making reference to Rain’s public troubles with drugs. “She made a mistake, she should have never f*cking been in there. She should have seen that, she should have gotten the f*ck out, and that’s a fact.” Asmon did add that he believes Grace should ultimately leave the gaming org, claiming it’s “full of a bunch of d*ckheads” and dispelling claims that she was “acting” with her emotional outburst. “This guy is a f*cking d*ckhead man,” he added, referring directly to rain. It is a situation that is going to run on a little while longer and it remains to be seen how things will ultimately shake out.

  • Asmongold slams Blizzard employees claiming he ruined WoW community: “It’s disgusting” – Dexerto

Asmongold slams Blizzard employees claiming he ruined WoW community: “It’s disgusting” Twitch: AsmongoldTwitch star Asmongold has hit back at Blizzard employees and haters alike after they claimed he is the reason for the WoW community’s decline. While Asmongold has quickly become the Twitch king of MMOs, his meteoric rise to FFXIV fame and temporary departure from WoW has placed a target on his back. One Blizzard employee actively called the streamer an “a**hole,”prompting mass backlash that eventually led to Asmon pleading with fans to stop sending death threats to the employee in question. It appears that Blizzard’s staff have been implicated in yet another round of Asmongold bashing, however, and he’s having absolutely none of it. Asmongold calls Blizzard commenters “disgusting” In an August 10 tweet, the streamer noted “recently more than ever I’ve been accused of harassment when I’ve had the audacity to defend myself and my community.” Concluding with “I don’t punch down, I don’t punch up, I punch back,” he’s gone on-stream to clarify why he made the tweet. Recently more than ever I’ve been accused of harassment when I’ve had the audacity to defend myself and my community The idea that I should allow myself to be attacked is driven by narcissism and entitlement. I don’t punch down, I don’t punch up, I punch back — Zack (@Asmongold) August 10, 2021 “I was reading a lot of comments about this on Twitter saying that it’s my fault the [WoW] community is trash,” he states. “I’m very upset about this, and the reason that I’m mad about it is because I’ve been hearing a lot of people, and this includes Blizzard employees, who have been making comments and giving their seal of approval to these negative comments about me. “How many people have we seen that have gotten doxxed, and swatted, and had people show up at their house, and weird stalkers and s**t like that. A lot, recently. Too many. And whenever a Blizzard employee gives their stamp of approval to a comment that vilifies me as a person, it enables that behaviour. “And it’s not your personal account when you are verified because you work at Blizzard. It is absolutely disgusting. And the entitlement, that people think they can say that negative s**t about me and I have to measure myself and just sit there and take it – suck a f**king d**k. “Enabling that behavior, people trying to bring this into my real life… I talk about the game, I talk about things I don’t like about the game. You make it personal. It’s disgusting, and I’m tired of it. It enables that kind of behavior, it makes those people feel righteous in the way they act when they take things over the line. I did nothing.” Concluding that “I never put anyones names or words in my mouth, they do that to me,” he notes “I’m probably more angry about this than I should be, but I am. I am extremely upset about this. And it’s not just people that work at Blizzard, it’s also people that work on WoWhead.” “I want to let anybody know: if you subtweet about me or you talk about me, or you make hate threads about me, and you’re a community member, I’m going to call your b**ch a** out. I don’t care. Don’t make a community talking s**t about me as a person… If you turn and you make it personal, I’ll make it twice as personal.” Importantly, at the beginning of the segment he highlights that he’s “no white knight,” but goes on to note that when he has done bad things “he takes accountability for them,” something that he clearly hopes Blizzard and his haters will do in the future.

  • Asmongold slams Blizzard over “upsetting” employee breast milk stealing allegations – Dexerto

Asmongold slams Blizzard over “upsetting” employee breast milk stealing allegations Activision Blizzard / Twitch: AsmongoldAsmongold slammed Activision Blizzard after reading reports from employees claiming their breast milk kept getting stolen, stating it was “upsetting” and “uncomfortable” to read. Asmongold has been vocal about all the allegations against Activision Blizzard since they first came to light in July 2021. He described the company’s culture and response as “shameful”, and supported the employee walkout that happened in November. But just when he thought he’d heard it all, he read reports from Activision Blizzard employees claiming their breast milk was being stolen. He talked about it in a YouTube video on December 12 and described it as “upsetting.” “I can’t even read this,” said Asmon in disbelief. “It’s so ridiculous. I don’t want to see this. This is so upsetting to me. There are some individuals that work at this company that make me feel uncomfortable.” He explained that making him feel uncomfortable is a hard thing to do because he’s developed a thick skin over the years. He claims that some people have tried to grab his genitals at conventions, and worse. “The fact is that this is a thousand times worse, and it’s not even happening to me,” he added. “Just saying it is so upsetting to me. It’s so upsetting.” The breastmilk theft allegations surfaced days after an Activision Blizzard employee claimed she was demoted after reporting an instance of sexual harassment. • Asmongold slams Activision Blizzard over controversial diversity tool – Dexerto

Asmongold slams Activision Blizzard over controversial diversity tool Twitch: AsmongoldAsmongold commented on the backlash surrounding Activision Blizzard’s controversial diversity tool and slammed the company for using it as a means to fix their “ruined” reputation. Activision Blizzard revealed the Diversity Space Tool on May 12, describing it as a “measurement device to help identify how diverse a set of character traits are and in turn how diverse that character and casts are when compared to the ‘norm.’” However, it didn’t sit well with fans who felt like it reduced a complex and vital issue like diversity to algorithmic data as a means for the company to make their games more appealing. Activision Blizzard apologized and clarified their intentions. Asmongold weighed in on the debacle and urged the company to stop making “political statements” to fix their reputation following the sexual harassment lawsuit and focus on making games instead until fans are ready to forgive them. “I feel like there are people at Activision Blizzard that just can’t stand going an entire week without patting themselves on the back for how much they care about minorities,” said Asmon. “They have to say something about it. “Stop talking about this. It’s a bad idea. You’ve had all this bad stuff happen. Your company’s reputation is ruined. Do you know how Activision Blizzard can actually repair their reputation? Shut the f**k up and make games! “Do that for three years, and maybe then we’ll be ready to hear another political statement. But until then, I don’t want to hear it. I don’t want to get moralized by somebody who couldn’t keep the breast milk safe at their own company.” Asmon has criticized the company in the past. He described the allegations that came to light in the lawsuit against them as “shameful” and supported the employee walkout that happened in November 2021. However, he thinks the best way to restore their reputation is to make positive diversity changes behind the scenes while focusing on games rather than repeatedly “patting themselves on the back” via political statements.

  • Asmongold shuts down viral video showing him “outside” – Dexerto

Asmongold shuts down viral video showing him “outside” AsmongoldTwitch star Asmongold shut down viewers who believed he appeared in a scary viral video that showed him outdoors at night. Creepy security cam footage often goes viral on the internet for catching unique and bizarre animals that only come out at night. While the blurry footage is often edited and not real, occasionally, the nocturnal beasts can look like actual people who’ve been deformed in some way. Now, Twitch streamer Asmongold has gone viral for reacting to security cam footage that viewers believed looked like him. Asmongold denies being monster from hilarious viral video The 31-year-old streamer shared a message to tons of fans who were tagging him in a bizarre viral video. In the clip, a glowing white slender monster with long hair can be seen walking around a snowy driveway in the middle of the night, set to the melodic tune of Rich The Kid’s ‘Plug Walk.’ Asmon denied it was him in the video and said, “This is not me. Please stop tagging me in this.” Asmongold, known as the “King of the Neckbeards,” isn’t exactly fond of the outdoors, making it difficult to believe this was actual footage of him. One of his followers responded to the clip with potential evidence it was in fact him, sharing a gif of the streamer walking in the same hunchback way the monster was in the black and white video. Another follower replied that the two clips had the “same energy.” Although Asmongold is denying the nocturnal monster was him, some of his fans aren’t buying it.

  • Asmongold shuts down claims OTK forced Jinny out of Esfand’s house – Dexerto

Asmongold shuts down claims OTK forced Jinny out of Esfand’s house Twitch: Asmongold / Instagram: yyj0728OTK founder ‘Asmongold’ has hit back at claims the organization forced Twitch star Jinny out of America. It comes after Jinny announced she was moving back to Korea suddenly on February 5. Popular Korean Twitch streamer Jinny has been at the centre of controversy in the last week. The 28-year-old has exploded in the last 12 months, garnering a following of over 500,000 on the platform. She moved in with Esfand in Texas, one of the founders of One True King (OTK) in March 2020, and has been creating content with the group since their formation. However, she announced on February 5 she’d be leaving the States to return home to Korea. While the streamer claimed she had to leave due to visa issues, other members were concerned about the global health crisis and quarantining. Jinny’s situation has caught the ire of some of Twitch’s biggest stars, like Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel, who claimed she was “irresponsible.” Some even claimed that the group was purposefully kicking Jinny out of Esfand’s house. However, Asmongold has shut down these critics, saying Jinny left on her own accord. While the streamer may not have described it as such, they reached a “generally amicable solution.” “Going into 2021 we had basically a come to Jesus talk about…quarantining and [setting] hard rules and expectations that we expected everyone to follow which also extended to people in the houses as well,” Asmon explained in a Twitlonger. “After Jinny saw that Esfand wasn’t able to go to events, she decided that she and Kevin (her brother) would leave as to not cause any more stress for him and also so that she could preserve her Visa time for when things were more open. “This was a generally amicable solution that everyone was okay with so Jinny went on stream and explained it in a way that I think gave a lot of people the impression that me or OTK effectively kicked her out. This is categorically untrue, and it was not only her decision to leave but it was also her idea.” Clarifications Regarding Jinny, OTK and Covid Read: https://t.co/hzBQ4wNRb5 — Zack (@Asmongold) February 9, 2021 Asmon added Jinny’s call to leave was a “smart idea.” However, he conceded the group could have avoided drama if they better communicated how they were going to approach her departure. “I think that a lot of us, primarily myself and Mizkif, approached it the usual way by memeing and joking about it but after talking with Jinny today I realized how much the situation devastated her at which point I apologized.” “Ultimately I think we learned a lot from this situation and while I think it’s been a negative for everyone involved, it’s shown how important communication is and how fast things can spiral out of control when you don’t do it properly. A cautionary tale no doubt.” Jinny plans to return in the summer, depending on the global situation. For now though, she will continue creating content in Korea.

  • Asmongold shoots down Andrew Tate’s theory YouTube is stifling content about him – Dexerto

Asmongold shoots down Andrew Tate’s theory YouTube is stifling content about him Twitch: Asmongold/ YouTube: StandOutTVInternet star Asmongold has shot down Andrew Tate’s theory that YouTube is automatically disabling comments on videos about him after his ban from the site. Back in 2022, Andrew Tate was hit with a ban on YouTube due to his controversial takes about women and various other topics. That hasn’t stopped other creators on the site from uploading videos, as Andrew Tate topics have continued to flood the platform. Andrew Tate claimed on June 28 that YouTube automatically disables comments on videos that mention him, but internet star Asmongold was quick to shoot that idea down. Asmongold hits back at Andrew Tate’s YouTube theory In a tweet, Andrew Tate claimed that YouTube came up with a “new plan in their battle against the truth.” The controversial influencer went on to explain that he brings the most views to the platform of any human and that YouTube instead automatically disables comments on videos that mention him. “They instead automatically disable comments on any video which mentions me. You have to manually turn comments back on,” he said. However, Asmongold was quick to shoot down that theory in a reply to Tate. “That’s not even true dude, I farmed you for a video less than a week ago and none of that happened,” he said. The Twitch star has shared his thoughts surrounding Andrew Tate quite often over the last year, including what he thinks about the controversial influencer’s ban from various platforms. “I think the stuff that he says regarding women is 100% wrong,” Asmongold clarified. “I think Andrew Tate is an a**hole […] but I think that the line for getting banned on those platforms should be breaking the law with those platforms.” Tate was banned from Twitter for several years as well until Elon Musk decided to bring him back onto the platform.

  • Asmongold shocks fans after claiming he’s never eaten an apple in his life – Dexerto

Asmongold shocks fans after claiming he’s never eaten an apple in his life Twitch: AsmongoldTwitch streamer Asmongold shocked fans during his appearance in Sodapoppin’s livestream when he claimed that he eats very little fruit and vegetables. In fact, he’s “never” eaten an apple or “a real orange.” As one of the community’s most popular MMORPG streamers, Asmongold is well-known for his long World of Warcraft or Final Fantasy streams. On average, the creator streams for an average of 8.5 hours a day. So, it’s no surprise that with such a hectic schedule Asmongold had to cancel his stream for a short time in order to catch up on his sleep. However, the streaming star is back to form. On July 22, he joined his fellow Twitch creator Sodapoppin to do a soda taste test together. Yet, it was the surprising amount of foods that Asmongold hasn’t tried before which really had viewers talking. Asmongold claims he’s “never” eaten fruit Asmongold and Sodapoppin were rating different soft drinks together when they came across an orange-flavoured soda. However, Asmon claimed he was “at a disadvantage” because he’s “never” had a “real orange before.” He explained that he has only ever had fruit-infused sweets and treats. Although, he has had very little “straight-up, real, raw” fruit and has “never” had an apple. “I actually don’t know if I’ve ever had a strawberry,” he added. “One time my Mom made strawberry shortcake and I just took all the strawberries off and ate the cake.” (Topic begins at 34:00 in the video) Arguing that he feels like “most people” don’t eat fruit, he claimed that his diet mainly consists of steak alongside a potato. As Soda looked on in shock, Asmon explained that the reason he hasn’t tried a lot of the healthy foods is because he can tell from “looking” at them whether or not he’ll like them. Asmongold’s confession came as a surprise to many. Yet, it also gave Soda the idea that the pair could do their very own fruit and vegetables tier list which fans are eager to see.

  • Asmongold shocked after discovering David Harbour watches his Twitch streams – Dexerto

Asmongold shocked after discovering David Harbour watches his Twitch streams Asmongold/David HarbourTwitch star Asmongold was shocked when he discovered Stranger Things star David Harbour is an avid viewer of his World of Warcraft broadcasts. David Harbour is mostly known for his role as James Hopper in the hit Netflix show Stranger Things, but behind the scenes, Harbour is an avid gamer. He recently signed on as one of the faces of World of Warcraft’s latest expansion Dragonflight, even streaming the game live along with WoW’s biggest broadcasters like Maximum and Naguura. While he was playing Dragonflight, he gave a shoutout to Twitch’s biggest WoW streamer, Asmongold, who was in complete shock when he found out. David Harbour shouts out Asmongold on Twitch stream Harbour was playing with fans on December 3 when a fellow WoW player asked him to rate his transmogrification outfit in-game. David was nervous and said, “Oh, wow. This is some Asmongold stuff right here.” He went on to completely roast the blue Shoulders the player was wearing, which Asmon also thought were quite an eye sore and didn’t match the rest of the outfit at all. Asmongold even typed in chat during the broadcast, “TELL DAVID I LOVE HIM” in an attempt to get his attention. The OTK streamer also said of Harbour’s acknowledgement, “Well, of course, right, I mean like, that’s bada**. The guy knows my stream. He’s like a massively famous actor. This is really cool for me.” One of Asmon’s viewers suggested David could join in on his famous transmog competitions, to which Asmongold said, “Yeah, we’ll see what happens.”

  • Asmongold shares funny reason for why Facebook streaming will never grow – Dexerto

Asmongold shares funny reason for why Facebook streaming will never grow Star Twitch streamer Asmongold gave a hilarous explanation when talking about why Facebook would never be able to grow as a streaming platform. Streaming platforms have been at the center of attention recently in the online game world as several top streamers have left Twitch to join other websites. Most recently, two of the biggest streamers on Twitch – Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek and Jack ‘CouRage’ Dunlop – joined to stream exclusively on Mixer and YouTube respectively. Before that, Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins started the wave with his shock move to Mixer in early August. One platform that has gone largely under the radar is Facebook Gaming, mainly because it considerably lacks the star-power that the other three platforms now boast. Read More: Shroud hints at more Twitch streamers moving – According to popular World of Warcraft Classic streamer Asmongold, the reason why they’re so low on the totem pole and won’t ever grow is because users are forced to use their real names on the platform. “The problem with Facebook is Facebook makes you use your real name,” he said. “Imagine if you’re William Williamson, and that’s your real name, and every single time you say ‘f*ck me in the ass, gachiBASS,’ it’s attached to your real f*cking name.” He then went on to explain how that can pose problems for people in the future, especially if they’re looking to get hired by a company that includes a search of their Facebook page as part of the background check. “The next job employer that you have, you apply for a job at Google or something like that, or more realistically Walmart,” he explained, tongue-in-cheek. “And your Walmart manager is like ‘yeah, so we saw this on our Facebook whenever we did a search on your profile.’ And you have to explain ‘Gachi’ to your Walmart boss. Does that sound like a good time? I would say it doesn’t.” For those that are not as well-versed on memes, the ‘Gachi’ that Asmongold mentioned is in reference to the two BetterTTV Twitch emotes ‘gachiGASM’ and ‘gachiBASS,’ which feature the face of muscle man Billy Herrington from the indie game Gachimuchi. The emotes are both usually used in Twitch chats to “indicate pleasure or satisfaction in a similar vein to the Kreygasm emote,” according to the ‘KnowYourMeme’ website. But all jokes aside, Asmongold presents a pretty valid point, in that most users on these streaming platforms want to have a clear divide between their life in the real world and their existence in the gaming sphere. Unless and until Facebook comes up with a way that allows people to chat and interact with streamers without having to use their actual profile name, it’s hard to see them attracting anyone prominent to stream on and use the platform.

  • Asmongold set to stay on main Twitch channel amid WoW Dragonflight launch – Dexerto

Asmongold set to stay on main Twitch channel amid WoW Dragonflight launch Twitch: AsmongoldAsmongold has announced his plans to go back to daily streaming on his main Twitch channel with the hope that the experience will be more “chill” than what it had previously been for the content creator. After stepping away from his main Twitch channel for over 4 months, Asmongold finally hopped back on during his November 29 World of Warcraft stream. This move was a surprise to viewers who have been watching Asmon on an alternate account since the streamer opened up about the mental struggles he has been facing. As a result, Asmon has been streaming on his alternative Twitch channel: Zackrawrr. And during his Lich King stream on September 26, he claimed he may never use his main channel again. “I put a tweet in my drafts that I was gonna tweet out that I was gonna go live on my main channel today. I woke up at like seven in the morning and I was just having like a panic attack, and I was freaking out about it”, with Asmon then adding that he “couldn’t go back to sleep at all.” Asmongold going back to daily streams on main channel However, it appears the content creator has had a change of heart, with Asmon revealing he is planning on changing up his streaming schedule as well as the type of content he produces while live and chatting with his viewers. In a follow-up tweet confirming the change, he wrote, “I’m going to try and stream daily again on main channel, but less stress more gaming, and more chill.” Adding afterward that he’s “not sure how long it’ll last since this has been a cycle for last 5 years, but going to try my best!” With the release of the new WoW Dragonflight expansion, it is likely that much of Asmongold’s content in the coming weeks will be focused on this new expansion.

  • Asmongold says up and coming streamers won’t get views if they’re “fat or ugly” – Dexerto

Asmongold says up and coming streamers won’t get views if they’re “fat or ugly” Twitch: zackrawrrTwitch superstar Asmongold made a controversial statement claiming that if smaller streamers are “fat or ugly” they won’t get many viewers. Streaming platform Twitch has the ability to skyrocket a streamer’s popularity, and thrust them into the limelight. However, with the sheer amount of streamers on the platform, it’s not exactly the easiest of times to get Twitch viewers to come to watch your content. Often times becoming a hit streamer on Twitch can take many years of hard work and maybe a touch of luck. One streamer that has achieved immense success on the platform is none other than MMO and World of Warcraft streamer Asmongold. Asmon has seen monumental success on Twitch, with his main channel at just over 3.4 million followers, and his secondary channel zackrawrr at a staggering 1.3 million followers. As such, Asmongold knows a fair amount about the ins and outs of Twitch, and decided to dish out a rather controversial statement on their stream. Whilst speaking about smaller streamers struggling to receive higher viewership on Twitch, Asmon had this to say. “Sometimes people might not like the answer… But I’ll give you an answer… I don’t want to do it cause it will make me look like an asshole, but if somebody asked me themselves why they weren’t getting more viewers then sure I would do it.” The streamer proceeded to proclaim what he believes is the “uncomfortable sh**ty truth”. “Well here’s the thing right, you wanna know a really really uncomfortable sh**ty truth? Is that if you’re ugly, people won’t like you. And this is even more true for girls. So if you’re really fat and really ugly, it doesn’t matter how funny you are, people just aren’t gonna like you. They don’t want to look at you. That’s it.” Despite Asmongold’s statement being rather controversial, the streamer has been on the platform for over 12 years, meaning it’s likely Asmon has a good understanding of the inner workings of Twitch viewers.

  • Asmongold says there’s “no excuses” for Starforge PCs after Linus Tech Tips review – Dexerto

Asmongold says there’s “no excuses” for Starforge PCs after Linus Tech Tips review Asmongold/Linus Tech TipsTwitch star Asmongold admitted his new custom gaming PC company StarForge Systems must do better after one of their custom-built PCs was reviewed by Linus Tech Tips with a mixed reception. StarForge Systems burst onto the custom gaming PC market funded by star streamers Asmongold, Mizkif, Rich Campbell, and many others associated with OTK. On October 1, YouTube star Linus Tech Tips finally released his review of a StarForge Systems custom PC he purchased from the new company. Asmongold pulled up the review on his own stream and both owned up to the company’s errors and admitted they need to do better moving forward. Asmongold promises StarForge changes after Linus Tech Tips review Linus didn’t hold back on his review of the Horizon Creator edition PC he obtained for a lofty $3,500 and said that he was “extremely skeptical” of the company’s business model moving forward. Although the YouTuber has plenty of negatives to levy against the purchase he did admit that compared to the market of custom gaming PCs StarForge was “as good an option as any other SI on the market.” Asmongold rolled with the punches sent at his company and responded to Linus’ concerns about the quality control at the company. He stated, “He’s right, there’s literally no excuse for it. It’s f*cked up. Obviously, in the grand scheme of things it could’ve been a lot worse, but also these things did not need to happen.” Upon launch, StarForge drew major backlash for its prices and instantly dropped them upon fan feedback. As the company moves forward and attempts to carve out a spot in the marketplace Asmongold has assured that they will continue to work on the quality control problems and begin delivering a better product with a better performance out the gate.

  • Asmongold says “real girls are over” as VTubers overtake female streamers – Dexerto

Asmongold says “real girls are over” as VTubers overtake female streamers Asmongold says that real girls are a thing of the past now that Vtubers are outranking other female streamers. Streaming has evolved continuously over the years, with different names and faces popping up on platforms as iconic personalities. VTubers, virtual streamers who generally take on anime-like characters as their personalities while streaming, have been on the rise as content creation has evolved. Asmongold, one of the most prominent streamers on Twitch and World of Warcraft figures, is perhaps one of the best examples of a non-VTuber internet celebrity. With millions of followers and multiple accounts on various platforms, his opinions are regularly popular points of discussion for fans. Asmongold recently responded to the rise of VTubing, specifically within the female streaming community. He shared his surprise with fans as he went over popular female streamers, noting that the majority of the names listed were VTubers. The rise of VTuber streamers on Twitch and YouTube Asmongold’s shocked reaction came after he discussed the ten most popular female streamers on Twitch and YouTube. Asmongold was clearly shocked when comparing VTubers numbers versus those of other female streamers. Pekora was the number one streamer with other VTubers following behind her. Amouranth, a well-known variety streamer, was also on the list in fourth place, behind Pekora and other VTuber Koyori. That’s particularly shocking, as Asmongold noted that Amouranth streams “more than f*cking any of the other ones.” In response, fans shared their appreciation for VTubers such as Pekora in the comments, saying that her uniqueness is what helped her stand out. Others took shots at non-VTuber female streamers, implying that their content was stale and uninspired whereas the increasingly popular virtual girls were delving into areas of content creation that had not yet been traversed. Asmongold on the future of streaming According to Asmongold, “Real girls are a thing of the past. I mean, the numbers don’t lie, gentlemen. It is what it is. Yep, VTubers took over.” He also insinuated that this is only going to become more common, as VTubers continue to be on the rise in terms of their popularity. Speaking on the matter, Asmongold said: “we will see probably more of this and the difference will become even larger.” It seems that this decade will be one for the VTubers, and streamers using their real names or faces are starting to really notice the trend.

  • Asmongold says he’d put TikToker Mizzy in jail after viral clip destroying convenience store – Dexerto

Asmongold says he’d put TikToker Mizzy in jail after viral clip destroying convenience store Asmongold / MizzyTwitch star Asmongold has claimed he’d put controversial TikToker Mizzy in jail following a viral clip of the teenager destroying a convenience store. TikTok prankster Bacari-Bronze O’Garro, better known as ‘Mizzy’ online, has become notorious for his antics. Controversially, the 18-year-old has been in the headlines several times for his over-the-top pranks in the past couple of months. Notably, the teenager went viral for an extreme prank, sparking outrage after walking into a stranger’s home in the middle of the day — leading to an eventual arrest, where he was charged with a criminal behavior order. More recently, the TikToker has sparked outrage once again after vandalizing a man’s convenience store in a clip that’s gone viral across the internet. Asmongold says he’d put Mizzy in jail In a recent live stream, Twitch streamer Asmongold reacted to the latest viral ‘prank’, where he claimed he’d put the TikToker straight in jail if it was up to him. “Bro this kid is an unironic menace,” the streamer said while reacting to the clip — which left him lost for words and his jaw dropped, to say the least. “Man, like at a certain point it’s just annoying.” “Speed racing to jail,” one fan wrote in chat, while another viewer noted how the TikToker has done much wilder things, such as previously ‘stealing’ a train. Asmon responded: “Yeah, honestly, like for that if I was like the government I would put him in jail for like a couple of months for that at least, right?” He added: “Just because that puts other people’s lives at risk, you know?” Despite being hit with several criminal charges, it seems like Mizzy has no intentions of stopping his ‘pranks’ anytime soon.

  • Asmongold says he “doesn’t care” after criticism for supporting Kick – Dexerto

Asmongold says he “doesn’t care” after criticism for supporting Kick Kick/Twitch: zackrawrrAsmongold has been a vocal supporter of Kick and its challenge against Twitch in the streaming space, and has stated that he simply “doesn’t care” about the criticism he has faced for it, despite what he calls the “blood cost” of Kick’s ties with gambling platform Stake. Asmongold, despite streaming exclusively on Twitch, has been a huge advocate for Kick and other streaming platforms looking to break the strong grip Twitch has on the space. This has rung especially true with Kick’s big-money offers to bring creators over from the Amazon-owned platform. He has advised new streamers starting out to try to grow on Kick instead of Twitch, admitting that he would do the same if he was starting over, commending their more favorable revenue split for broadcasters. That said, there has been a lot of criticism over Kick, particularly due to the fact it is connected to the crypto gambling site Stake. This is especially notable in the wake of Twitch’s divisive ban on some gambling content – which included Stake – content that Asmon previously spoke out very strongly against. Asmongold “doesn’t care” about Kick criticism During his January 26 stream, Asmongold responded to a comment in his chat about Kick deals being unethical, and Asmon was very clear in his response. “Guys, I really hate to tell you this, and there might be people that are unhappy about this, but I am not bound by these rules that you create,” he said. “I just do what I feel like doing, and I never make excuses for it. I’m not going to go ahead and argue with you. “Of course, there is a blood cost. Absolutely. You’re not going to get me to say something and then go back on it because I don’t want to say something in a bad way or say something that’s offensive. I don’t care. It doesn’t matter to me.” After one viewer compared it to child sweatshop labor, Asmon reiterated his point: “I don’t care — you can say it 50 times and it’ll be the same answer. I don’t need anybody’s approval to do what I want, so if people don’t like it … Okay, yeah. I just don’t care. Keep in mind, it’s not that I don’t care, it’s that I don’t care enough to have it change what I’m doing.” Another viewer said that he wouldn’t be critical of Kick in case it impacted his chances of getting a contract in the future, to which he very honestly said “yes, you’re absolutely correct.” Regardless of the Kick situation, and Asmongold’s previous thoughts on gambling on Twitch, it’s clear he has changed his mind on the situation after assessing it overall. Whether he ends up on Kick, however, remains to be seen.

  • Asmongold says everyone was “in the wrong” after Minx Oxy medication drama – Dexerto

Asmongold says everyone was “in the wrong” after Minx Oxy medication drama Twitch: Minx / MizkifAfter a bizarre drama erupted following a game at OTK’s ‘Friendsgiving’ livestream event, Asmongold has said that everyone involved was “in the wrong” in some capacity, including Esfand, Minx, and Malena. The OTK crew and a number of other top streamers came together on November 21 for the ‘Friendsgiving’ event, sponsored by Chipotle. During one of the games, Envy member Minx, who was dressed as the turkey, was offered alcohol by fellow streamer Malena, when Esfand jumped in and prevented it, exclaiming that Minx “can’t” drink alcohol due to medication she was taking. The clip went viral on Reddit, with fans defending Esfand’s calls to prevent a potential medical issue, but as the furor grew, Minx responded on Twitter, claiming that the whole thing was a joke. i literally told my chat i got off them because my mom said their addictive. Ive made it obvious me taking oxy is a bit — minx (@JustaMinx) November 22, 2021 Minx said that it had been a running joke that she was taking OxyCodone, a painkiller, and that Malena knew about the joke. “I’ve made it obvious me taking oxy is a bit,” Minx said on Twitter. However, given Esfand’s reaction, and the reaction of others at the party, it was clear that not everyone knew it was a joke, something Asmongold has confirmed. Speaking about the incident on his stream, Asmon said he had later asked Minx if it was real or not out of concern. He also argues that “everyone was in the wrong,” including Esfand, for getting involved. “I think [Esfand] was [in the wrong]. I think all three of them were in the wrong. I think Minx was in the wrong for trying to go with the joke, Malena was in the wrong for going along with it. Esfand was in the wrong for inserting himself into it, without really knowing what’s going on. I think that they were all in the wrong.” Asmongold continued, “The fact is, Minx is an adult, and she has the agency to make decisions for herself. And it’s not up to Esfand, it has nothing to do with him. “I understand that he thinks that he’s helping, but it’s not his decision. It’s not his choice, and he doesn’t get to make that decision for her.” Some fans have argued though, that as the party was in Esfand’s house, he considered it a duty of care to his guests, as he didn’t know Minx wasn’t actually on the medication. Esfand hasn’t responded to the drama yet at the time of writing.

  • Asmongold roasts “garbage” YouTube Gaming, claiming even Mixer was better – Dexerto

Asmongold roasts “garbage” YouTube Gaming, claiming even Mixer was better Wikimedia Commons / Twitch: AsmongoldAsmongold roasted YouTube Gaming, describing it as “garbage” and “absolute trash” compared to Twitch before claiming Microsoft’s now-defunct streaming platform, Mixer, was better. Asmon is one of the most open and candid streamers in the scene. He often has hot takes on games and game development, especially World of Warcraft, but he also chimes in on stream-related issues. It’s no surprise then that after watching a video of Ludwig criticizing YouTube Gaming’s discoverability system compared to Twitch, the MMO Streamer of the Year added his own two cents, and he didn’t hold back. “Twitch has a lot more to offer just in discoverability,” said Ludwig. “Even though it’s not the best discoverability platform, it’s still better than Youtube Gaming.” He explained that YouTube Gaming’s current discoverability system requires users to scroll down on the left-hand side of the page and click ‘live,’ which isn’t great. “This isn’t the greatest thing of all time, right?” Asmon followed it up with some scathing comments of his own: “Ludwig’s on contract non-disparagement clause. I’m not.” “It’s f**king garbage. It’s absolute trash. It is probably the worst thing I’ve ever seen.” He claimed Microsoft’s now-defunct streaming platform, Mixer, did a better job. “Mixer was better than this, and Mixer is in the toilet. If YouTube were built around live streaming, it would be in the dumpster. Despite his comments, YouTube Gaming has become a destination place for streamers. In addition to becoming DrDisrespect’s new home, they’ve signed some big names, including DrLupo, TimTheTatman, and Ludwig. On the other hand, Microsoft shut down Mixer in 2020 after signing Ninja and Shroud on multi-million dollar deals proved insufficient to make it a powerhouse platform. So, YouTube Gaming must be doing something right, even if it’s not to Asmon’s taste.

  • Asmongold roasts Square Enix pushing Metaverse and NFTs: “People don’t give a f**k” – Dexerto

Asmongold roasts Square Enix pushing Metaverse and NFTs: “People don’t give a f**k” Asmongold/Square EnixTwitch star Asmongold has hit out at Square Enix’s recent New Years’ statement, in which the company called 2021 “Metaverse and NFTs: Year One”, and praised the potential of the new technology. Asmongold is one of the big streamers on Twitch who is not afraid to hold back his opinion when he feels strongly about a topic. He’s hit out at Activision Blizzard and YouTube in the past, and more recently, has been open in his criticisms of NFTs, or Non-fungible Tokens, having called people who spend thousands on them “ridiculous.” After Square Enix declared 2021 as “Year One” for the surge of the Metaverse and NFTs , Asmon took to Twitch to share how he feels about the company’s messaging on the topic. Asmongold on the Metaverse and NFTs The streamer was live on his secondary channel that he’s been using, zackrawrr, when he read the Square Enix letter to his audience. He touched on his thoughts about the Metaverse and said, “People aren’t really talking a whole lot about the Metaverse, they’re not thinking about it. The main people that are pushing the idea of the Metaverse are the corporate overlords that are looking to sequester and segment away more autonomy of your personal life away from you, and into the realm that they can control, that is being called the Metaverse.” Asmongold then asked his viewership to “Do not fall victim to this language. Do not be taken advantage of. This is something that’s being pushed from the top-down, this is something many people don’t give a f**k about.” He also touched on his thoughts about NFTs, and said: “I think that the idea of it is interesting. However, what’s produced with it is not. It’s kind of like the idea of printer, it’s amazing, you don’t need a printing press anymore with a digital printer. But, whenever the digital printer prints out a picture of a banana, it’s not worth anything.” Asmon finished by hilariously mocking the tokens, “‘It was made by this incredible technology! Look at the capabilities! Oh My God! Wow!’ Like, yeah, that’s super cool, but all you have is a sheet of paper with a banana on it.” While he shared optimism about the potential of new technology in the gaming space, Asmongold doesn’t see the value in it just yet.

Asmongold roasts NFT enthusiasts: “It’s stupider than astrology” AsmongoldTwitch star Asmongold again hit out NFT promoters, this time labeling the new technology “horses**t” that is “stupider than astrology.” Asmongold has not held back his feelings when it comes to roasting NFTs, Non-fungible tokens, which skyrocketed in popularity in 2021. He’s called them “ridiculous” in the past, and when gaming giant Square Enix announced their NFT plans, he tore the company apart for it. Now, he’s come back with more insults for the tokens, this time with a much more elaborate metaphor for his disdain. Asmongold compares NFTs to astrology The 31-year-old streamer was live on his secondary Twitch account, zackrawrr, when he again hit out at NFTs. “What’s really f**king upsetting about this is a lot of people into cryptocurrency, it’s guys right, it’s mainly guys in the space. The one thing we had over women was that we could make fun of the astrology s**t. And we managed to come up with something even dumber than that.” He then called NFTs “horses**t”, calling the mostly-male enthusiasm for NFTs an “own goal.” His comments come after a February 1 tweet where he applauded the gaming community for coming out against developers and publishers pushing NFTs onto their audiences. “It’s great to see the gaming community come out so strongly against NFTs.” It’s great to see the gaming community come out so strongly against NFT’s Multiple gaming companies now have had to walk back an unwanted NFT push into their games after backlash Keep it up boys, we’re winning — Zack (@Asmongold) February 2, 2022 Asmongold continues to take a hard stance against NFTs, and will certainly continue to roast the technology and its fans on his Twitch broadcasts.

  • Asmongold reveals OTK might hire security after Mizkif gets harassed during IRL stream – Dexerto

Asmongold reveals OTK might hire security after Mizkif gets harassed during IRL stream Asmongold/MizkifAfter a random stream sniper managed to track Mizkif down and harass him during an IRL stream, Asmongold announced their OTK streaming organization might be hiring security to prevent it from happening in the future. Stream snipers have always seemed to be part of the IRL landscape, but after a recent incident occurred while Matthew ‘Mizkif’ Rinaudo was shopping for a new Porsche on Twitch with some fellow influencers, that could all be changing. While Miz was looking at a cherry-red prospect, his group suddenly came into contact with a random stranger who was apparently streaming himself as he walked right up to apparently try and confront them. After the sniper tried to engage with the group, Mizkif asked if he was also shopping for a Porsche. Out of nowhere the individual (who sort of resembled a scuffed Asmongold, funnily enough) got confrontational and brought up Miz’s history with infamous live streamer Ice Poseidon. “Brother man, you better stop pretending like you’re something you ain’t,” the sniper started saying. “IP2 always f*****g wins, let’s f*****g go.” “I don’t know, I thought that was kind of funny,” Mizkif said after they chased the stranger off. However, before leaving the parking garage, the sniper apparently started to yell a racial slur. Thanks to some expert stream handling by Esfand, who was working the camera, the broadcast thankfully stopped just before catching it. The next day Asmongold, who’s a part of the OTK streaming org with Esfand and Mizkif, said on his stream the group was considering hiring security for any future IRL streams, based on the events of the previous 24 hours. “Yeah it was really unfortunate, we’re gonna have to hire security probably in the future if we wanna do stuff like that,” Asmon revealed. “The stream sniper stuff can be funny to an extent, but the truth is that you never know who’s going to be sniping you, and it’s actually really weird and uncomfortable.” While he admitted stream sniping wasn’t technically an “invasion of privacy” since IRL streams typically take place in public, they can still be plenty freaky for the target streamer. “Imagine somebody watching you on a broadcast, and then triangulating your location, and then driving to your location, in person, to like, interact with you,” Asmongold continued. “That would make anybody I think uncomfortable; it’s funny as a viewer, but as a streamer it’s unnerving.” As Twitch stars and YouTubers become bigger and bigger celebrities in their own right, it’s likely that OTK’s choice to potentially hire security for IRL streams becomes a trend whenever streamers decide to head out into the real world.

  • Asmongold reveals much-anticipated return to streaming after extended hiatus – Dexerto

Asmongold reveals much-anticipated return to streaming after extended hiatus Twitch / AsmongoldAfter an extended break from broadcasting on his main Twitch channel, streaming superstar Asmongold has announced his official return to content creation will come alongside the launch of Amazon’s New World MMO. Despite being one of the biggest streamers on Twitch, Asmongold has dealt with plenty of adversity over his many years in online entertainment, both in his content creation career and personal life. The Twitch star has taken several breaks from streaming in recent months, both planned and unexpected. During this turbulent period, he also opened up about his on-going struggle to maintaining good mental health, and how those issues have been affecting him as well. Now, after sporadically streaming on his second channel during the latest hiatus, Asmongold has announced an official date for his full return, which happens to coincide with the launch of 2021’s highly anticipated New World MMO. On September 26, the Twitch streamer sent out a message to his followers on Twitter, providing an update on his current personal situation, along with a confirmation of his planned return to streaming. “[I’ll] be back to streaming for [the] New World release,” he shared with his fans. Barring any unexpected last-minute delays, Amazon’s entry in the MMO genre is due to go-live on Tuesday, September 28. Asmongold also shared an update on his mother’s health — one of the driving factors behind his current absence from Twitch. “My mom is doing okay,” he confirmed, without diving into the specifics. Will be back to streaming on Tuesday for New World release, Olympus server My mom is doing *okay* and I’ve missed you guys. Thanks for all the positive messages, I read a lot of them out to her and it improved her spirits quite a bit — Zack (@Asmongold) September 26, 2021 “I’ve missed you guys,” Asmongold shared in his heartfelt post, and closed out his update by expressing gratitude for the continued support of his community. “Thanks for all the positive messages,” he shared, “I read a lot of them out to [my mom] and it improved her spirits quite a bit.” While Asmon has been streaming on-and-off on his second channel, zackrawrr, his main account has remained largely dormant for the last month — quite the shift for a streamer who typically averages anywhere from 140 to 230 hours streamed per month. For now, Asmongold seems confident of his long-awaited return, which will likely draw in viewers by the tens, if not hundreds of thousands, as his long hiatus combined with the launch of New World are sure to draw in significant viewership when he goes live on September 28.

With over 3.4 million followers on Twitch and millions more across social media and YouTube, there’s no doubt that Asmongold is one of the most popular content creators on the internet. The star is also a co-owner of OTK Network, a group of content creators who collab together for major events like the OTK Games Expo and more. Asmongold reveals issues with panic attacks, assures he’s okay During his broadcast, Asmongold revealed the issues he’s been having with anxiety over the last few weeks that have impacted his stream schedule. “You know how my streams have been late, just getting later in the day?” he asked. “The reason why is that I’ve been having a lot of really bad f*ckin anxiety and stupid sh*t. In the process of that, I had convinced myself that there was something wrong with me.” “I actually woke up in time to stream the PlayStation Showcase and I put my hand on my neck and felt like there was something weird on my neck and had a panic attack. I actually went to the emergency room and [they said] it’s all in my head. I’m fine.” Asmongold went on to assure fans that he’s okay, and feeling a lot better after the visit to the hospital. Viewers in his chat made sure to show their love for the iconic streamer as well, with heart emojis and kind words flooding the page. • Asmongold reveals insane Twitch bounty value for just 10 minutes of work – Dexerto

Asmongold reveals insane Twitch bounty value for just 10 minutes of work Twitch: AsmongoldPopular content creator and streamer Asmongold revealed the insane amount of money he’s offered by Twitch’s Bounty Board for just 10 minutes of work. Twitch’s Bounty Board allows streamers to accept paid sponsorship opportunities directly from their dashboard which makes the whole process a lot more streamlined. Content creators can pick out certain bounties that take their interest and claim the money on offer as soon as they’ve completed the assigned task. As you would expect, the more viewers you can draw to your stream, the bigger the bounties. Well, these huge payouts certainly took Asmongold by surprise, who decided to share what he could earn with just 10 minutes of work. Asmongold reveals massive payout for 10-minute Twitch bounty During a recent stream, Asmongold decided to check out his Twitch bounty board and was shocked at some of the massive payouts on offer. One of the tasks only required him to stream a specific event or game for “10 minutes”, and the bounty was worth a total of $12,000. The popular streamer was surprised at how much the sponsors were willing to offer him, describing the monetary amounts as “crazy”. Unfortunately, Asmon didn’t share what the 10-minute bounty required him to do, as it would’ve been interesting to know which games were willing to fork out huge amounts of money. Either way, it just goes to show how influential Twitch streamers are on their viewers, and how much companies are willing to pay to get eyes on their events and games.

  • Asmongold reveals insane amount he was offered to stream game for 1 day – Dexerto

Asmongold reveals insane amount he was offered to stream game for 1 day Twitch: asmongoldWe all know that top streamers make a lot of money, but World of Warcraft personality Asmongold has revealed the true extent of it, telling viewers the insane amount he has been offered to stream a game for a single day. [jwplayer LyseOqpr] The biggest streamers across platforms such as Twitch and YouTube are no strangers to sponsored streams, with game developers offering them payment for playing their game, advertising it to fans and hoping to drive a bunch of engagement as a result. It’s been a failsafe way for devs to get eyes on their games, and we’ve seen some super-popular games benefit from partnered Twitch streams. That said, we don’t often know how much these streamers get paid, but Asmon has given us a little hint by revealing the ludicrous amounts he has been offered. Asmongold offered $300K for one stream Although he didn’t specify what the game was, Asmon was talking to his viewers about Twitch streams and ‘bounties’, which is where Twitch finds sponsorship opportunities for its partnered streamers to make some money. After saying that he’ll likely take on more bounties and do more sponsored streams in the future, he deliberated over whether to reveal how much he had been offered for one particular stream — and finally decided to do it. “I was offered — I’m not going to say what game it is — over $300,000 to play the game for one day.” When a viewer asked if Asmon had accepted it, he said that he “told them maybe,” and that he “might still do it” — suggesting he could be taking on this $300k one-day stream soon. This isn’t the first time Asmongold has been candid about the type of money he’s been offered for streams, revealing earlier in 2020 that he had also been offered over $200,000 for a sponsored stream. These two instances are among the very few that we actually know about, and fans can only imagine how many other big-money opportunities have been presented to Asmon as well as other top streamers such as Ninja, xQc, Dr Disrespect and more. Now, if we see Asmongold stepping out of his wheelhouse more often, we know exactly why.

Shortly after, he explained that he didn’t wanna be the “black person that was going to take all the heat.” It also appears that he’s leaving on good terms, with many taking to the replies on Twitter to thank him for his time in the organization. Asmongold echoed the positive comments towards BruceDropEmOff and revealed his status with Starforged PCs, OTK’s custom PC building company, during a recent stream. Asmongold reveals Bruce is still part of Starforge PCs On his alternate Twitch account, Zackrawrr, Asmongold was reading through his subreddit when he came across a post showing Bruce’s tweet. “Bruce did leave OTK today. I wanna say obviously other people have their opinions about it. I want to let you know I have nothing but love for Bruce. I don’t know what the f*ck is going on between him and Mizkif, I woke up like three to four hours ago,” he said. “I’ve always liked him, I think he’s great and I hope Bruce does what’s best for Bruce. He’s still an owner of Starforge, still has equity in Starforge and we’ll continue to work with him.” Starforge launched in August 2022 with OTK and MoistCr1TiKal partnering together to provide fans with a place to buy custom PCs. Shortly after announcing his resignation from the org, Bruce called Mizkif “weird” on stream after the latter sent text messages while he was live. “That’s that weird sh*t, I don’t like that. F*ck you now. Now it’s f*ck you. You are weird as f*ck. There’s no drama it’s just weird energy because I left,” he said. Neither Mizkif nor Bruce have commented about the texts since the end of his stream, but we’ll be sure to update you if they do. • Asmongold reveals his biggest Lost Ark concern ahead of Korean MMORPG’s global release – Dexerto

Asmongold reveals his biggest Lost Ark concern ahead of Korean MMORPG’s global release Amazon Studios / Twitch: AsmongoldAsmongold is looking forward to giving the North American version of smash-hit MMORPG Lost Ark a fair go, but admitted his biggest concern ahead of its global release is the monetization structure. Lost Ark is an immensely popular Korean MMORPG with dungeon crawler elements that released back in 2018. However, after a controversy surrounding pay-to-win elements and loot boxes saw it get banned in Europe, it’s getting a global re-release in fall 2021. But while many players are looking forward to it, including Asmon, he revealed his biggest concern is how the company decides to change the game’s monetization structure and admitted if it’s as bad as the version that got banned, he will quit. “People feel like it’s going to be super pay-to-win because it’s a Korean game, and a lot of these games don’t have a very good track record for not being paid to win,” he said, as evidenced by the fact it got banned in Europe. For that reason, he’s “waiting to see what their monetization structure is going be on North American realms.” And if it ends up being no different from the version that got banned, then he admitted he’d “play it for a few days, realize that it’s pay to win, and probably just quit the game.” Read More: Asmongold unimpressed with WoW 9.1.5 patch – However, he’s willing to accept some pay-to-win elements within reason. “If the only pay-to-win element of the game is that you can play it for free, but if you pay a subscription, you can play more effectively and level up faster, I’m okay with that.” Asmon has shown time and time again that he’s a man of his word. He hopes the developers won’t “sabotage their own game” by leaning too heavily on the same pay-to-win elements that got the game banned in the past. But if they do, he’ll be the first person to pull the plug on his adventures in Lost Ark and move on without batting an eye.

  • Asmongold returns to Twitch with unexpected stream on second channel – Dexerto

Asmongold returns to Twitch with unexpected stream on second channel Twitch: AsmongoldWorld of Warcraft streamer Asmongold has been on a mini-hiatus due to personal matters but finally returned to Twitch with an unannounced stream on his second channel. When it comes to World of Warcraft and MMO’s on Twitch, Asmongold is up there as perhaps the biggest streamer around. However, it isn’t uncommon for the streamer to take multiple breaks, as a means to deal with personal matters. Asmongold has spoken multiple times on the subject of mental health, offering an intimate chance to engage with the creator. As of September 16, he had been on another small break from Twitch, citing family health issues. Though, he finally made his return using his backup channel. On September 18, the Twitch streamer explained that he had to take his mother to the hospital with an unspecified health condition. As a result, Asmon was off Twitter and his streams continued to be put on the shelf, but he went live on September 20 for less than 30 seconds on his main channel with Valheim. It seemed to be a slight slip-up as his second channel – zackrawrr – went live not long after as he got his teeth into a few hours of Valheim, stating he was “trying to take my mind off things,” and also playing Final Fantasy. The streamer has yet to provide an update on his mother’s condition at the time of writing, nor has he said when his usual streams will return. In the meantime, you can keep updated with everything Asmongold here.

  • Asmongold reveals serious health scare he had after playing Diablo 4 for 13 hours straight – Dexerto

Asmongold reveals serious health scare he had after playing Diablo 4 for 13 hours straight Twitter: AsmongoldAsmongold has returned to social media shortly after a health scare saw him abruptly ending his latest Diablo 4 Twitch stream, leaving fans concerned. After a quick visit to the emergency room, the MMO star has assured he’s “totally fine.” To celebrate the highly anticipated launch of Diablo 4, Asmongold returned to his main Twitch channel for the first time in seven months. Primarily streaming on his alt account of ‘Zackrawrr,’ whenever his main goes live, it’s a big deal. However, not all went according to plan with this epic release and equally epic return. Asmon abruptly ended his big Diablo 4 broadcast, following up hours later with a Reddit post seemingly explaining his sudden conclusion. At the time, he focused the blame on anxiety and stress caused by the situation. “If you’re one of the people who feels like this is stupid, embarrassing, or pathetic, you’re in good company, because I feel the exact same way,” he said. Though now, through a near six-minute video on Twitter, more details have come to light as Asmon revealed that Reddit post wasn’t sharing the full story. In fact, his recent absence from Twitch came in light of peculiar leg pain, he explained, a pain that led him to the emergency room. Admittedly, his main channel return and the Diablo 4 hype was “super stressful,” but that wasn’t all that caused him to stop streaming. At first, Asmongold “didn’t even tell [his] dad” about the full picture, as he “didn’t want to get people worried. “After I streamed Diablo 4 I went directly to bed,” he continued in his June 5 video. “I woke up and I had some pain in my leg. I was stressed out, I was worried. You sit down for a long time, you’ve got pain in your leg, that could be a blood clot. That scared the f*** out of me.” Initially, he didn’t share the symptoms with anyone else. He hid the situation, exercised, and tried to sleep through it. However, when the pain continued through to the next morning, he decided further action was necessary. “I thought enough of the bulls***, I’m gonna go to the emergency room.” After a brief yet costly visit to his local hospital, he returned to social media to assure fans that everything was okay in the end. “I just got back,” he said. “Basically, they did some tests. It cost me $420. It’s the best $420 I’ve ever spent. I’m totally fine. There’s no blood clot, nothing wrong with me. Just whenever something like that happens, it really gets your mind working. It got me thinking, it got me asking myself an obvious question, if not now, then when? “I’m almost 33, that’s some f***ing bulls***. As I get older, I’m paranoid whenever I have even the slightest discomfort.” Admittedly, Asmon’s current lifestyle isn’t exactly the healthiest. From his own perspective, he claims he lives at a “10/10 in terms of degeneracy.” But that’s something he’s now looking to change after the recent scare. “I think we might dial this down to a 7/10. I think I’m gonna try eat a little healthier and live just a little healthier. It’s not that we’re not gonna be eating any gummy lifesavers, it’s just that we might not have them for breakfast every day.” So with health now more of a priority following his “particularly eventful day,” fans can expect to see Asmon back on Twitch and playing Diablo 4 again in no time. But if we see shorter streams with longer breaks throughout, rest assured it’s just Asmon looking after himself.

  • Asmongold retains Twitch viewership crown despite WoW Classic decline – Dexerto

Asmongold retains Twitch viewership crown despite WoW Classic decline Popular streamer Asmongold has kept his place as Twitch’s most-watched broadcaster for October despite seeing World of Warcraft tumble down the rankings. Twitch has seen a major shake-up in recent weeks with Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins, Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek, and Jack ‘Courage’ Dunlop packing up and helping for new pastures in both Mixer and YouTube. In their absence, some streamers have captured those viewers who don’t want to make the move away from Twitch themselves but it’s Fortnite superstar Turner ‘Counter-Strike: Global Offensive broadcaster Alexandre ‘gAuLeS’ Borba. For the month of October, Asmongold was the only streamer able to break the astounding milestone of having been watched for over 6,000,000 million hours. Tfue could only manage a tick over 5,950,000 hours – a highly commendable feat in itself – while gAuLeS eclipsed 5,000,000 hours. Asmongold’s success may come as a slight shock considering his game of choice, World of Warcraft, has seen a significant decrease in interest over the last thirty days. According to further stats, the game has seen a 60% decline in hours watched. It’s been surpassed by games like League of Legends and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Both of the games’ rise is explainable considering LoL has been holding it’s Worlds event – which concludes on Sunday, November 10 as G2 Esports take on FunPlus Phoneix. On the other hand, Modern Warfare was released on October 25 and streamers have flocked to the game. While their interest may have subsided following the release week, professional teams are also getting to grips with the title so there will be a constant stream of content. With a number of big game releases on the horizon, it remains to be seen if interest in Asmongold will keep on chugging or if Twitch viewers will head elsewhere. However, he has been able to withstand a substantial decline in WoW already, so his loyal fans likely won’t be betting against him to retain his title for the third month.

  • Asmongold responds to FaZe Rain leaking their DMs over Grace Van Dien drama – Dexerto

Asmongold responds to FaZe Rain leaking their DMs over Grace Van Dien drama Twitch: zackrawrrAsmongold has responded to FaZe Rain leaking their DM’s over the Grace Van Dien drama, stating that he wanted to “correct the record” on backing the FaZe Clan member. Over the last few months, FaZe Clan has been embroiled in a bit of a civil war between original members and those who have joined the gaming organization more recently. The long-standing members have been frustrated with the leadership of FaZe and the additions of celebrity members. That came to a head at the end of May when actress Grace Van Dien got the call to join as FaZe Bluefille. While she has a gaming background and regularly streams Valorant, some members weren’t too pleased about it. Her addition to FaZe has resulted in a pretty public spat with FaZe Rain, who initially leaked Grace’s signing. It got to the point where the actress even threatened to quit after they tried to make a video together about the situation. Asmongold addresses FaZe Rain revealing DMs over Grace Van Dien drama Rain has recently leaked some messages between the pair, but Asmongold also got caught up in that. After Rain revealed some of the exchanges he had with the OTK star, Asmon decided to “correct the record” a bit.” The Twitch streamer addressed the leaked DMs by stating he wasn’t completely on Rain’s side and added more “context” with additional messages from their exchange. “I’m not mad at FaZe Rain for that. Only an idiot would have had DMs with this guy and think he wouldn’t have leaked them,” Asmongold said. “Like, of course he was going to leak the DMs. I just wanted to provide a little bit of context in the conversation.” He also added that Rain’s behavior was what sparked him to weigh in on things, noting that plenty would be “uncomfortable” with how he approached things over Grace joining. Timestamp of 1:00 “I just want to correct the record. I don’t want to open this drama up and talk about it a lot more. I’m just making sure people know what I said and why I said it. I will reiterate that I do agree that it was a bad idea to pick her up for the org and it was a bad idea for her to join the org and the only real criticism I have is how he approached the situation,” Asmon concluded. As it stands, the actress has removed FaZe from her social media profiles but it doesn’t appear that she has officially left the org.

Asmongold responds to Artesian Builds drama after OTK cut ties YouTube: AsmongoldTV/OTKNetworkOTK Co-founder Asmongold has responded to the recent Artesian Builds drama, following the org releasing a statement announcing their departure from the pc-building company. On March 1, 2022, prebuilt-pc company Artesian Builds became under fire after the CEO, Noah Katz, allegedly changed the rules of a PC giveaway and belittled multiple Twitch streamers for being “too small” after drawing their name. While OTK isn’t the first creator or organization to part ways with the company, they certainly have an impact on the company as Mizkif and Asmongold are among the top-watched creators on the platform.

  • Asmongold responds after Ted Cruz offers to discuss loot boxes in games with him – Dexerto

Asmongold responds after Ted Cruz offers to discuss loot boxes in games with him Twitch: Asmongold/ YouTube: Verdict with Ted CruzTwitch streamer Asmongold shared his thoughts after US Senator Ted Cruz agreed with him that more needs to be done to regulate loot boxes and pay-to-win games, especially regarding younger audiences. The morality of pay-to-win games has been a controversial topic in the streaming community. In particular, over the argument that it could encourage addictions among young players. Streamer Asmongold has openly criticized games such as Lost Ark and Diablo Immortal for their loot box structures. Now, Republican politician Ted Cruz has announced he would be up to discuss the matter with the streamer, much to his delight. Asmongold “excited” about talks with Ted Cruz On June 21, Asmongold responded to a clip from Cruz’s Verdict podcast with Michael Knowles in which the two discussed pay-to-win games and loot boxes. Asmongold said: “Never in my life did I imagine a US senator would engage in a conversation with me regarding P2W and loot boxes in video games […] Very excited!” It comes after the streamer approached Cruz who he believed would be on board with the idea of restricting microtransactions and loot boxes in games with the belief it indoctrinates “kids into gambling.” The Twitch streamer has called on fellow MMO players to band together to put a stop to pay-to-win microtransactions in the past. Never in my life did I imagine a US senator would engage in a conversation with me regarding P2W and lootboxes in video games LOL Very excited! https://t.co/2g8H5i76p5 — Zack (@Asmongold) June 21, 2022 Cruz subsequently agreed and said he would be “happy to engage in a conversation” with Asmongold. Saying he believes video games are “designed to be addictive,” he admitted to having fallen down the pay-to-win rabbit hole and spent money in-game to progress. However, he added he was approaching the issue with “a pretty strong libertarian stance” and claimed the US government might not have a “role” in preventing in-game microtransactions. It’s not certain how far the streamer and Cruz’s discussion over pay-to-win games will go on for. However, Asmongold clearly isn’t going to give up the fight any time soon.

  • Asmongold responds after criticism for canceling stream over “lack of sleep” – Dexerto

Asmongold responds after criticism for canceling stream over “lack of sleep” YouTube: AsmongoldTwitch streamer Asmongold revealed that he was canceling one of his streams to “fix” his sleeping pattern. However, he soon found himself under fire for his “unhealthy habits.” Content creators can spend gruelling hours streaming for their viewers. Some big name Twitch stars, such as xQc, are well-known for spending an average of 12 hours a day in front of the camera. Understandably, various creators take some time away from streaming for their well-being including Asmongold who has previously shared his worries over the toll streaming has had on his health. Having opened up about struggling with his sleeping pattern, Asmongold announced he was finally going to take “a couple days” off from streaming to get some much-needed rest. However, one of his fans called him out for his “duality” over his “unhealthy” habits. Asmongold criticized for streaming habits On July 17, Asmongold announced that he was going to take a very short break away from streaming after having had problems with getting sleep. It comes after the streamer canceled a number of livestreams due to “food poisoning” issues. He further apologized for being “so inconsistent” in his schedule, but added: “Most days I only sleep 4 hours and wake up sick then stream anyway. It’s no one’s fault but my own.” However, one fan fired out at the streamer for his contrasting messages over his lifestyle, claiming he boasts about his “great” lifestyle before canceling streams multiple times a week “due to lack of sleep.” The duality of Asmongold: When asked about his unhealthy habits: “I live the way I want and I’m never sick. I always feel great.” Also: cancels stream at least once or twice a week cause he feels awful due to lack of sleep. — Cailech (@cailech29) July 17, 2022 Asmongold quickly responded claiming that he “always” makes sure to emphasize how little sleep he gets due to his way of life. ? I’ve always prefaced that by saying the exception is not getting enough sleep — Zack (@Asmongold) July 17, 2022 Asmongold wasn’t left to defend himself as his fans also quickly rushed to help him out against the criticism. “Bruh he doesn’t do this ‘once or twice a week,’ it’s only been the past couple of days,” wrote one supportive fan. “Plus the previous week he got food poisoning, let the man take a few days off.” Asmongold may have a number of long breaks in the past for personal reasons. However, this short break will hopefully not last long as he claimed he would be back streaming again by July 19 or 20.

The conflict started when Sssniperwolf asked her followers on Instagram if she should visit Jackfilm’s home. Shortly after the story was posted, Sssniperwolf continued to post another picture, this time in front of Jackfilm’s house. This image has since been deleted. “Sssniperwolf situation is unacceptable,” said Asmongold. “Anyone who uses their platform to doxx and put a person’s family in physical danger deserves to be deplatformed. This is an unironic line in the sand and one that should never be crossed” Asmongold is not the only one asking for Sssniperwolf to be removed from YouTube. Jackfilms also took to Twitter shortly after the incident to call on YouTube directly to deal with the situation. “Sssniperwolf just doxxed me on her IG,” said Jackfilms. “Creepy, gross, violating. What you do is disgusting. You steal content AND stalk YouTubers. @YouTube demonetize this dangerous “creator” or just get her off your platform. She posted an IG story right outside our home and deleted it.” Sssniperwolf has not made any public statement on Twitter but has made follow-up Instagram stories attempting to justify her actions. At this time, YouTube has also not made any official statement regarding Sssniperwolf’s behavior.

  • Asmongold puts Riot Games on blast after company-wide layoffs – Dexerto

Asmongold puts Riot Games on blast after company-wide layoffs Asmongold/TwitchTwitch star Asmongold has spoken out against Riot Games, following company-wide layoffs resulting in roughly 11% of the developer’s total workforce being let go. Riot Games, the developers notably known for being the masterminds behind League of Legends and Valorant, announced mass layoffs in a blog post on January 22. The company explained they are taking steps to focus on areas that players are invested in, while reducing commitment to areas that don’t have as much of an impact. Subsequently, the developers shut down Riot Forge, and let go of approximately 530 employees globally, roughly 11% of the company’s total workforce. Asmongold lashes out at Riot following mass layoffs During the beginning of his January 23 livestream, Asmongold discussed the layoffs at Riot, where he made an example out of ‘The Mageseeker’ an action RPG indie game that was published under Riot Forge — explaining that simply nobody played the title. Furthermore, he noted how six other games published under Forge similarly all performed poorly. However, the Twitch star didn’t blame the developers. “Why did these games not perform well? They didn’t perform well because they were not priced according to their value,” he claimed. “They were priced according to their IP. Mageseeker was a $15 game that was in the League of Legends universe, so it was $40. It’s too much.” Admitting the game was good, Asmongold hit out at the marketing and finance teams within Riot, explaining he believes they should be the ones the company gets “rid of.” “The marketing department at Riot? Like, those are the people that they should get rid of. The people who decided the financials for those games should not work in the company anymore,” he said. “It was such a bad idea to go to market and sell a game at an omega premium, to an audience of people who are used to consuming games for free.” While the company claims they’re committed as ever to their other IPs such as Valorant, League of Legends, and Teamfight Tactics, it’s unclear if the recent layoffs at Riot will impact development.

  • Asmongold opens up on mental health struggles in candid Twitch stream – Dexerto

Asmongold opens up on mental health struggles in candid Twitch stream Twitch: asmongoldDuring a stream on September 11, Asmongold shared a candid moment with viewers where he discussed his struggles with mental health and suicidal thoughts. Asmongold is one of the most popular MMO steamers on Twitch, but recently opened up to fans about the struggles he’s had with mental health as a result. When a user donated and asked if he’d ever “felt like Reckful (who took his own life in 2020) unironically.” Asmon gave an honest answer that initially concerned fans before the streamer provided reassurance. Trigger warning: This article contains details regarding self harm, depression, and suicidal thoughts. Reader discretion is advised. “‘Do you ever feel how Reckful felt unironically?’ I probably shouldn’t say this, I’ve wanted to kill myself many times, yeah, absolutely,” Asmon revealed during the stream. If you check out the chat while Asmon was saying this, there is an outpouring of love and support for the streamer, but at the same time worry for the concerning comments from viewers. “What a f***ing segway,” Asmon added. “Yeah, many many times, I’m just too much of a p****y to do it, don’t worry about it I’ll be fine, I’m not going anywhere.” His chat was, as we said, more than supportive after the streamer made these comments, but they still caused plenty of concern among fans. However, he said it was something he’d been wanting to talk about for awhile, and would be making changes to his stream in the future. “I’d like to take down some of the super high energy stuff I do, and just try to have a little bit more of, just me,” Asmon said. “Not a bunch of crazy bulls***t, not a bunch of weird showmanship, just me. Just me streaming us having fun together, and relaxing.” Mental health has become a huge issue not just on Twitch, but with internet personalities and creators as a whole. Asmon certainly isn’t alone in his struggles, either, so if you happen to tune into him in the near future, be sure to show the WoW OG some love. If you are experiencing suicidal thoughts, or know anyone that is, and you would like to talk to someone, please reach out and call the Suicide Prevention Helpline 1-800-273-8255 (USA), the Samaritans 116-123 (UK), or Lifeline 13-11-14 (AUS).

  • Asmongold mocks drama surrounding Lilypichu and OfflineTV – Dexerto

Asmongold mocks drama surrounding Lilypichu and OfflineTV Twitch star “Asmongold” is normally known for his popular World of Warcraft streams – but the broadcaster interrupted his usual programming to weigh in on massive drama surrounding two major faces on the platform. OfflineTV member and Twitch streamer Lily “LilyPichu” Ki shocked fans with a Twitlonger post on November 10, where she admitted that she and boyfriend Albert “SleightlyMusical” Chang had parted ways. Claiming that she “felt forced to make a statement,” Pichu apologized for subtweets published by her friends, claiming that she was “heartbroken” over her split with Chang and still loved him “very much.” Following the release of Pichu’s statement, fans flocked online, speculating that Chang had cheated on Pichu (although none of these theories have been proven true). With the scandal garnering ample buzz in the online world, it makes sense that one of Twitch’s top broadcasters would speak out on the matter: but Asmongold did more than offer a mere two cents on the subject. “What kind of loser fucking idiot fucking gives a f*** about this?” the streamer laughed. “What kind of pathetic f***ing loser spends any moment of any second of their life worrying about if one person cheated on somebody else? Get a f***ing life.” That’s not all – Asmongold went on to give over-enthusiastic fans some brutal “advice,” reminding them that they likely don’t know any of the involved streamers personally and to focus their attention to their own relationships. While Lily has yet to speak further on the matter, fellow streamers Imane “Pokimane” Anys and Federico “Fedmyster” Gaytan have apologized for Tweeting about the drama, with Fedmyster claiming that going to social media “wasn’t the right move.” I’d like to add on & say I completely agree, at the time I did not think my actions would signal to others that it’s okay to talk about this publicly, because it’s not, and I’m sorry for that. I’ve apologized to Lily privately, because I want her feelings to be our priority♥️ — pokimane (@pokimanelol) November 10, 2019 For now, fans and critics alike are left to speculate as Pichu’s deeply personal matters get strung out online.

  • Asmongold, Mizkif, Esfand announce new ‘OTK’ streaming org – Dexerto

Asmongold, Mizkif, Esfand announce new ‘OTK’ streaming org OTKAsmongold, Mizkif, and Esfand have joined forces to start a new organization aimed at bringing like-minded content creators together, which they have dubbed ‘OTK’ – or, more formally, ‘One True King.’ The trio are all well-known Twitch personalities in their own right, and are some of the biggest names in World of Warcraft on the site, as well. Joining them as co-founders are fellow streamer Tipsout and former esports host Rich Campbell. All five of them have worked extensively together during their online careers, which served as both the foundation for their friendship and the new OTK org. “We came up with this idea of making an org, and building the org around our friends – building the org around friendship in general,” Asmon said in the announcement video below. “We talked about it, we talked about it, we talked about it, that’s all we did.” WoW will certainly be heavily featured, but the founders made it clear it won’t be the main focus, and that they’re open to all kinds of streamers and content creators getting on board. OTK has even already recruited a full esports team in an unspecified game, which will be announced on Mizkif’s Twitch channel during a late-night Oct 11 stream. As we mentioned though, OTK won’t be simply an esports org by itself. At several times, Asmon and other founding members referred to it as a “network” of streamers and content creators who all want to collaborate together, which makes sense, since its full name is actually the “OTK Network.” Yup, it’s true! We’re starting an Org with @Asmongold @REALMizkif @RichWCampbell and @TipsOutBaby !! We have a lot of stuff planned today, I’ll be streaming late tonight after Mizkif’s stream! Welcome to OTK! @OTKnetwork pic.twitter.com/HaX4IHCEuJ — Esfand (@EsfandTV) October 11, 2020 More recruits and signings are sure to be announced by OTK and the founders themselves in the weeks to come, so it’s probably wise to keep an eye on their socials and Twitch streams to keep up to date on the latest news. As for what esport the org could be dipping its toes in to start with, WoW is the obvious choice, but there are plenty of potential games and even more teams that would be happy for a shot with OTK. For now, all fans can do is watch and wait while this newest entertainment powerhouse lifts off.

  • Asmongold lost for words over FFXIV Dark Knight quest line – Dexerto

Asmongold lost for words over FFXIV Dark Knight quest line Twitch, Asmongold / Square EnixVideo games can throw a curveball any minute when playing them for the first time. This case of Asmongold playing Final Fantasy XIV Online definitely took a turn he did not expect. Twitch streamer Asmongold is known for primarily playing World Of Warcraft, but recently has decided to take some time away from the Blizzard-owned MMO. With the time away, he has taken interest in another MMO – Square Enix’s own Final Fantasy XIV Online. In the streamer’s August 12 broadcast, he can be seen progressing through the Dark Night quest line, in which the player has to speak to the Ishgardian Citizen in The Pillars to obtain the quest Our End. Doing so, Asmongold stumbles upon a section of the quest that doesn’t seem to fit the design of the characters story. Asmongold reaches a shocking point While Asmongold progresses through the Dark Knight quest line, he stumbles upon a group of singing fairy-like creatures called Moogle. After initiating the conversation with the group and reading off a few lines of the cutscene, it hits him: “I cannot believe this is the Dark Knight quest line. This is the Dark Knight quest line… are you kidding me?!” After a quick scowl of confusion, he continues to read off the text in the cutscene – acting like nothing even happened despite showing his shocked expression. Continuing on with the game, Asmongold seems to be fairly unamused by the inclusion of the Moogle is such a dark storyline. Whether or not the streamer has played so many MMO’s that he’s entirely unbothered by the unexpected inclusion is a question for another day. All we know right now is that he definitely was not expecting it.

  • Asmongold loses it after wiping to Final Fantasy XIV boss at 0.1% hp – Dexerto

Asmongold loses it after wiping to Final Fantasy XIV boss at 0.1% hp AsmongoldAsmongold’s Final Fantasy XIV dungeon party wiped to the boss Kalyia who had just 0.1% HP left, leading Asmongold into a fit of rage on stream. Asmongold began streaming his journey in Final Fantasy XIV on July 3, bringing along tons of viewers for the journey. The game’s popularity skyrocketed on Twitch, in large part due to the attention he brought along with his large fanbase. He recently hit level 50 and finished the “A Realm Reborn” campaign, which opened up some new content – including dungeons. Asmongold’s group did a run-through of The Final Coil of Bahamut, and, on the boss Kalyia, his party wiped with the boss’s HP bar hitting 0.1%. “Airym, get away if you need to,” he shouted to the last remaining party member. Asmongold absolutely lost his mind when the boss didn’t die, surviving with just a sliver of health remaining. “Are you f**king kidding me!” Asmongold screamed as he exploded into a fit of rage. Anybody who has played an MMO understands his pain, as wiping a dungeon by a mile or by an inch has the same result: having to start all over again. In the full video uploaded to his YouTube channel, you can see that the group was eventually able to finish the dungeon. Time starts at 45:29 As Asmongold continues to dig deeper into the epic fights Final Fantasy XIV has to offer, there will surely be more hilarious moments like this one. He has a long journey ahead of him, too, with expansions like Heavensward, Stormblood, and Shadowbringers.

  • Asmongold left stunned as Joe Rogan discovers Twitch’s hot tub meta – Dexerto

Asmongold left stunned as Joe Rogan discovers Twitch’s hot tub meta Asmongold/Joe RoganTwitch star Asmongold was left in hysterics while watching Joe Rogan discover who Amouranth is and Twitch’s hot tub meta that emerged on the platform back in 2021. Asmongold has built a massive following on Twitch through both his World of Warcraft streams, as well as his countless hours dedicated to reaction content. The 31-year-old broadcaster often reacts to loads of different kinds of content, ranging outside his gaming sphere to the realms of mainstream entertainment, politics, and other topics. In a recent Twitch stream, he watched a clip from the massively popular podcast The Joe Rogan Experience and was left completely stunned when Joe made a shocking revelation. Joe Rogan discovers Twitch’s hot tub meta The UFC commentator had fighter and streamer Demetrious Johnson on his show, who explained to him a bit about the history of Twitch and why he ended up leaving the platform for YouTube. Johnson brought up that Twitch’s hot tub meta exploded in popularity in mid-2021 and defined the platform for a while. Joe was puzzled by this. “Hot-tub streams?” Joe asked. Asmongold instantly paused the video and said, “Oh boy. Oh boy. How does Joe not know about this? How the fu*k does he not know?! He’s gotta be fu*king pretending.” One user in the chat claimed that Joe could’ve just been high and not remembered, but Asmongold countered, “There’s plenty of people high every day and watch Amouranth. There’s nothing special about that.” The pair then pulled up a hot tub stream, and although they didn’t show whose channel it was, Asmon surmised it was likely Amouranth. and Joe in fact did not know of its existence or how quickly it gained popularity and plainly said, “I didn’t know that existed. Jesus Christ.” Asmongold shouted, “This is so f*kin’ funny. Wow.” Although Joe didn’t know who Amouranth was before this episode of his podcast, she might’ve quickly turned him into a fan.

  • Asmongold lashes out at “hall monitor” Twitch culture – Dexerto

Asmongold lashes out at “hall monitor” Twitch culture YouTube: Asmongold TVTwitch star ‘Asmongold’ is lashing out at the site’s “hall monitor meta,” claiming he’s being overrun with comments asking him to expose and “deplatform” certain creators. As the Twitch vs Kick wars rage on, there’s been a major beef brewing between a few of the scene’s top creators like xQc, Hasan, and Pokimane. Popular MMO steamer Asmongold has also commented on the drama here and there as some of Twitch’s top talent moves to Kick, while Twitch itself comes under fire for controversial changes to its terms of service and subscription splits. Asmon himself said he’d move to Kick if Twitch’s proposed branded content guidelines had actually gone through earlier this month — and now, he’s taking umbrage with another issue on both Twitch and other sites. Asmongold hits out at “hall monitor meta” on Twitch and other streaming sites Although Asmongold has made no bones about his feelings toward the big changes happening to Twitch, he’s also got an issue with the overall culture of the website right now. According to the World of Warcraft star, he’s been experiencing an influx of commenters asking him to “deplatform” and “tell on” other creators on the site — and he’s tired of it. “Exhausted with this hall monitor Twitch meta (it’s outside of Twitch, too),” he wrote in a tweet on June 21. “Seems like every day there’s some new crusade to get someone deplatformed, canceled, or just sh*t on. So sick of pu***** coming into my stream to ‘tell’ on a streamer to get them in trouble.” Asmon says that this isn’t just a Twitch problem, but something he’s been seeing across other websites, as well. Although it’s unclear if Asmon is referencing a specific scenario or not, it’s clear that he’s had enough of viewers asking him to expose other streamers. Asmon’s latest post comes on the heels of the streamer showing his support for Hasan amid his ongoing feud with Dr Disrespect — just another chapter in the ongoing drama surrounding Twitch and Kick this June.

  • Asmongold labels Twitch a “disgrace” for not banning Sliker amid scam accusations – Dexerto

Asmongold labels Twitch a “disgrace” for not banning Sliker amid scam accusations YouTube: AsmongoldAsmongold has labeled Twitch a “disgrace” for not banning Sliker from the platform amid accusations that he stole hundreds of thousands of dollars from fans. Over the last few days, Sliker — a partnered Twitch streamer — has been accused of ‘scamming’ fans and other streamers out of money, with totals rising into six digits. The accusations have led to viewers and streamers demanding that Twitch ban gambling from the platform entirely. Asmongold has joined the list of streamers speaking out about Sliker’s accusations with a tweet calling out Twitch. Asmongold labels Twitch a “disgrace” After allegations began to surface, Sliker went live on his channel and admitted to the scam. On September 19, Asmongold called out Twitch for not banning Sliker from the platform. He said: “How in the f**k is Sliker not banned on Twitch? The guy literally uses the platform to defraud dozens of people, streamers, and viewers alike AND ADMITS IT. “JiDion is still sitting a perma while Sliker gets to go live and laugh about actual crime. It’s an absolute disgrace Twitch.” In the tweet, Asmongold mentioned JiDion’s permanent ban from the platform that he received after orchestrating a ‘hate raid’ toward Twitch star Pokimane. Although JiDion and Pokimane met up IRL and revealed they were cool with each other, Twitch still refuses to allow JiDion back onto the platform. It’s unknown what will happen with Slicker in the coming days, so we’ll have to wait to see. In the meantime, head over here for more entertainment news.

  • Asmongold labels Bobby Kotick the “perfect villain” amid Microsoft acquisition – Dexerto

Asmongold labels Bobby Kotick the “perfect villain” amid Microsoft acquisition Bobby Kotick/AsmongoldTwitch star Asmongold hit out at Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick, calling him an “a**hole” after announcing the company was going to be sold to Microsoft. Asmongold isn’t one to hold back his feelings on anything Activision Blizzard-related. He’s publicly condemned the company multiple times throughout their workplace harassment saga, as well as explicitly saying: “F**k Bobby Kotick” after Activision Blizzard employees staged a walkout. Now, he’s taken the time to explain exactly how “evil” the CEO is. Asmongold on why Bobby Kotick “makes a good villain” The streamer was live on Twitch when he reacted to an interview where Kotick was discussing the selling of the company. “In a way, it’s like Bobby is the perfect villain. There’s never a point where enough is enough. There’s never a point of humility, there’s never a pint of, ‘I’ve made enough money now.’ It’s just pure evil.” Asmongold then read a viewer’s message aloud: “‘He’s such an a**hole it makes me kind of like him.’ Yeah, it’s like Dio from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, pure f**king evil, down to the very core. There’s never a point where there’s a redeeming quality. Just evil, the worst guy. And it makes a good villain. Because it’s just so f**king black and white.” Time starts at 0:47 for mobile users The WoW streamer explained that there are actually some people who like Kotick, “Because he’s such a piece of s**t.” Asmon then said that, even though Bobby “seems like a d**khead,” he’d grab the opportunity to interview him one day if given the opportunity. Although it’s possible that Kotick will leave the company once the sale is official in 2023, he’ll be in line for a massive payday.

  • Asmongold is racing to hit max level in New World in the worst possible way – Dexerto

Asmongold is racing to hit max level in New World in the worst possible way Amazon Games / Twitch: AsmongoldAmazon Games’ foray into the MMO arena, New World, has gotten plenty of love from gamers already and while Asmongold is determined to max out his character as soon as possible, it’s not so he can claim some badge of honor. Originally slated to drop in May 2020, New World has finally arrived to carve out a slice of the MMO market. Between the best gear available and billionaire Jeff Bezos putting his full support into the game, there is a hell of a lot to uncover in Amazon Games’ fantastical world. Naturally, with Asmongold being Twitch’s king of MMO’s, he’s dove right in and started to put some heavy focus on the new game on his streams. While many players are rushing to hit max level so they can say they’ve already achieved the mark, he’s got a different plan. Asmongold ready to call New World “boring” Maxxing out a character level in an MMO is always a badge of honor for players, especially if you can do it when not many others have. Though, for Asmongold, it’s not about that. Speaking on his enjoyment of the game so far, Asmongold went on to say that boredom is only “three and a half levels away.” His friends, confused by the streamer’s race to level up, asked him why he was in such a rush: “why are you trying to get to 60?” Asmongold’s answer might not be what most would expect, as he said it was “so I can complain that there is no content.” While most might want to level up fast to gain enticing gear, Asmongold has “been farming the same 5 quests” for a few days. “I’m ready to finish the game, so I can complain that it sucks,” the creator added. Like other MMO’s, New World will most likely have plenty of DLC for players to explore, but it’s only been a short while, so any add-ons are a fair way off. Asmongold might change his point of view as time goes on but, ultimately, who knows how the game will evolve. Looking to become the best of the best in New World? Make sure to take note of our tips and tricks.

  • Asmongold claims Ibai deserved to win Streamer of the Year award over Ludwig – Dexerto

Asmongold claims Ibai deserved to win Streamer of the Year award over Ludwig Twitch: Ibai / AsmongoldAsmongold believes Ibai deserved to win the Streamer of the Year award along with Ludwig at The Streamer Awards and lamented over the fact he wasn’t even nominated at all. Ludwig won the most prestigious award at The Streamer Awards, the Streamer of the Year. It marked his achievement as the best overall streamer based on success, elevation of his brand, and the impact he had on viewers. Asmon believes Ludwig deserved it because he “puts a lot of work” into his content. “He generally has more of a plan than most of us,” he said. “That’s something to be admired. That’s something to aspire to.” He also thinks the fact Ludwig pulled off a “groundbreaking” subathon and engrained it into Twitch culture played a part. “Now everyone’s doing the subathon. He started a trend that’s been going on for an entire year.” However, Asmon believes two other candidates deserved to win. The first is xQc. “xQc streams all the time. He streams all kinds of games, and he gets viewership. He’s the number one streamer right now, and he’s earned it.” “Being able to play any game and make it entertaining for the audience – that’s a talent. The fact he can make WWE2K22 funny to watch is impressive. On top of that, he can play an FPS or whatever else. Few streamers can do that.” The other candidate, which he was the most passionate about since he wasn’t nominated for the award, was Ibai. “The other third person that nobody seems to talk about because he’s Spanish is Ibai,” said Asmon. “In my opinion, Ibai has had more growth than Ludwig and xQc, but nobody sees this because it’s in another culture,” he explained. “That guy is so f**king massive.” Then, he listed some of his achievements. “He collaborated with Messi, he’s putting on TV-quality shows regularly on Twitch, his production quality is next level, and he was able to create a network of content creators for the Spanish-speaking audience.” Ibai accomplished a lot throughout the year. Asmon believes it was enough to warrant a nomination for Streamer of the Year, let alone win it. However, it was something ultimately decided by fans, and he missed out. Still, he didn’t want to take anything away from Ludwig’s win. Asmon also claimed two awards for himself, Best MMORPG Streamer and Best Content Organization, the latter of which he shared with other OTK members.

  • Asmongold hopes Ice Poseidon drama makes people “wake the f**k up” about crypto – Dexerto

Asmongold hopes Ice Poseidon drama makes people “wake the f**k up” about crypto AsmongoldTwitch star Asmongold has explained why he hopes the recent controversy surrounding Ice Poseidon leads to more people being cautious when investing in cryptocurrency. On February 1, streamer Ice Poseidon came under fire for announcing he’d be keeping the $500,000 he accumulated through an abandoned cryptocurrency project called CXCoin. A video from popular investigative YouTuber Coffeezilla unearthed the potential scam, and Poseidon has since denied the claims he stole money from investors. Asmongold watched Coffeezilla’s video on his own Twitch stream and offered a positive take on the situation. Asmongold preaches skepticism on crypto investing The streamer was live on his secondary Twitch channel, zackrawrr, when he said he was actually grateful about what Ice Poseidon had done so it could be a learning lesson. “Here’s the thing, I’m gonna hit people with a little bit of a reality check: You need people like Ice Poseidon. It’s like a Nigerian Prince scheme, who the f**k is investing in CXCoin except for morons?” Asmon continued: “Regular, average people are now seeing this and they think, ‘Wait a minute, maybe MilfCoin isn’t gonna go to the moon.’ You’ve got to have these bad situations happen in order for people to wake the f**k up. You’ve got every dumbf**k under the age 35 doing cryptocurrency investment.” He explained more on crypto, “People have never really thought about, ‘Wait a second, what if this one is bulls**t? Is this a legitimate thing?’” (Time starts at 6:06 for mobile users) Asmongold went on to describe how tons of people are going “gung ho” in crypto investment, without a second thought. He also hopes the general population “smartens up” and stops “being blinded the idea that they can get rich.”

  • Asmongold hits out at viewers who use him as the “gold standard” for gaming opinions – Dexerto

Asmongold hits out at viewers who use him as the “gold standard” for gaming opinions AsmongoldTwitch star Asmongold called out viewers who use him as the “gold standard” for all video game opinions after being accused of supporting pay-to-win features in games. Asmongold has become one of the most popular streamers on Twitch after branching out from purely being a World of Warcraft streamer. Since then, he’s broadcasted more modern MMO titles like Final Fantasy XVI, Lost Ark, and New World. According to stat tracking site Twitch Tracker, Asmon averages over 78,000 concurrent viewers for every stream so far in 2022, one of the highest on the entire platform. The 30-year-old streamer explained that branching out into new gaming communities has also brought tons of criticism his way. Asmongold “exhausted” for being used as a “gold standard” across the internet The OTK streamer was live on March 26 when he hit out at a viewer claiming he was supporting “pay-to-win” features in Lost Ark by promoting the game. “It’s exhausting for people to use me as a messenger, or some sort of standard-bearer for what their ideologies are. I think this has happened a lot. Especially more as I’ve covered different games, where people are craving me to approach a game in a certain why, or to say certain things about a certain game because I represent some sort of greater idea that they’ve invented in their head.” He continued, “They want me to live up to the expectation they’ve created head-canon for, I do not want to do this. I want to do whatever I feel like doing, and that’s about it. I don’t care about the message it sends, and I don’t care about the ideologies are, and monetary practices. I think everybody knows they are bad.” Topic starts at 12:27 for mobile viewers Asmongold has long stood against pay-to-win features in games and has gone as far to say that he wants loot boxes banned entirely. He concluded, “I’m sick of people using me as some sort of gold standard that they base the way they look at video games off of. It’s exhausting to be treated that way by people all over the internet.” Despite his years of disapproving of microtransactions, nothing has changed in the space, and he still receives hate for his vocal opposition to it.

  • Asmongold hits out at Twitch following second channel suspension – Dexerto

Asmongold hits out at Twitch following second channel suspension YT: AsmongoldPopular content creator Asmongold has hit out at the 24-hour Twitch ban acquired on his second channel, detailing the reasons in a June 10 YouTube video. The Twitch community was shocked on June 10 when it was announced that veteran streamer Asmongold had received a ban on his second channel, known as ZackRawrr. Details surrounding the ban were not initially clear, but Asmongold has now confirmed it will be a 24-hour suspension, incurred for “hateful and unmoderated conduct”. However, the streamer is unimpressed with the Amazon-owned platform for their reasoning, a position he articulated late on June 10 in a series of tweets and a response video. First, he confirmed he will be unable to stream until Sunday, June 12, even on his unbanned main channel: “For those that were wondering, I won’t be live tomorrow because my second channel is suspended and it would technically be “ban evasion”.” Also–this was done less than 10 minutes after those messages occurred in chat Keep that in mind next time there’s literal porn or scam Elon Musk streams up for hours with no response — Zack (@Asmongold) June 11, 2022 In the attached YouTube video, Asmon explained that he was streaming Diablo Immortal and a player using in-game chat (not Twitch chat), posted a racial slur. They did so using full stops and spaces to workaround Asmon’s explicit language filter. When realizing that the slur was displayed on his stream, Asmon played it down so as to avoid giving the troll attention. However, Twitch interpreted this as Asmon “not adequately addressing the situation”. “So Twitch suspended my account with apparently no grounds to even appeal and remove the suspension,” he said. “I clearly did not support any of this [racist language] and also it’s the implication that by the suspension being there that I am somehow complicit or okay or approve of racism being on my stream. Which I find to be completely f**king disgusting.” Asmon outlined his past history with combatting racism on Twitch, banning emotes that were associated with negative stereotypes, and enforcing strict rules in his Twitch chat. Some of the emotes Asmon has chosen to distance himself from are still available on the platform. He continued: “I find it incredibly ridiculous that trying to not draw attention to something and not allow somebody to weaponize and therefore provide a reward structure around using a word like this is seen as a bad thing… as soon as somebody gets suspended for something like this, what that really tells everybody else in the community is that if you want to get a streamer you don’t like suspended, go into their game and start spamming the n-word… what does that really do? It creates more racism, it creates more negativity.” He also said that, from now on, he will ensure game chat is fully blocked at all times. Asmon’s second channel will be unbanned late on June 11, meaning he is free to stream on either of his channels from that point.

  • Asmongold hits out at Pokimane’s apology over “broke” fans comment – Dexerto

Asmongold hits out at Pokimane’s apology over “broke” fans comment Asmongold / PokimaneTwitch star Asmongold has hit out at fellow streamer Pokimane’s apology after she was put on blast for calling her fans who criticized the price of her cookies “broke.” On November 13, Pokimane announced her healthy snack brand, starting with ‘Midnight Mini Cookies’. Almost instantly, the Twitch star faced backlash as a similar product was found with similar nutritional values and ingredients, at a cheaper price, in Costco. While Pokimane claimed the product was her own, and took two years to create, the streamer faced further criticism over the price of the cookies, which cost $7 per bag and can only be purchased in a 4-pack, 8-pack, or 12-pack. Pokimane hit back at critics, suggesting they are simply “broke” if the cookie price was too steep for them. The Twitch star soon apologized for the comment, explaining it was a joke. However, fellow Twitch streamer Asmongold believes she didn’t mean for it to be a joke. Asmongold slams Pokimane over “broke” fans joke In a live stream, Asmongold spoke on the Pokimane controversy, where he said he doesn’t believe Pokimane intended for the “broke” comment to be a joke. “I don’t think it was a joke. I don’t think she meant it as a joke,” he said. “I don’t, I think she meant it for real, just by like what she said before and after. And you can even see that. “It doesn’t logically make sense that you would tell a joke, and then justify it. Because if you knew it was a joke, you wouldn’t justify the joke right?” He added: “I don’t know why she can’t just say ‘yeah I was being an asshole and sorry’, that’s it.” One chatter in Asmon’s chat claimed that it was “toxic” and “condensing” of Pokimane to make the comment, to which the streamer agreed. “It is, it absolutely is. 100%.” Checkout Dexerto’s review on Pokimane’s ‘Midnight Mini Cookies’ here.

  • Asmongold hits out at “exhausting” content creators amid SunnyV2 backlash – Dexerto

Asmongold hits out at “exhausting” content creators amid SunnyV2 backlash Twitch: zackrawrrTwitch star Asmongold expressed his exhaustion after YouTuber SunnyV2 posted a video about Chris Tyson’s recent HRT reveal. On April 6, 2023, YouTuber Chris Tyson responded to speculation about his gender in a series of tweets that revealed he began hormone replacement therapy two months prior. Reactions to the news have been split, with YouTuber SunnyV2 posting a video that prompted MrBeast to lash out at the comments. Twitch star Asmongold chimed in, hitting out at the “exhausting” content creators with “nothing better to do than mald” about others. Asmongold hits out after SunnyV2 Chris Tyson video Posted on April 14, 2023, Asmongold shared a screenshot of SunnyV2’s video about believing Chris Tyson will be a “nightmare” for MrBeast’s brand. “How is it that people have nothing better to do than micromanage and mald about the lifestyles of content creators,” he said. “It’s exhausting how opinionated internet users are about the personal lives of people they’ll never meet. Holy f*ck.” He’s not the first Twitch streamer to hit back at the negativity surrounding Chris’ decision, as many have taken to their platforms to support the YouTuber. Twitch streamer F1NN5TER recently stitched a TikTok video calling out creators using jokes and fake screenshots of texts to ‘fuel hate’ towards MrBeast, Chris, and his family. “Chris doesn’t need me to defend him, but can you not tell that these are jokes?” he said. MrBeast has made his thoughts around Chris’ transition clear, saying that “[a]ll this transphobia is starting to piss me off.” He can now count Asmongold as another member of the pissed off creators around this topic.

Asmongold hits out at Activision Blizzard after employee walkout: “F**k Bobby Kotick” Wikimedia Commons, Twitch: AsmongoldTwitch streamer Asmongold has kept a keen eye on the lawsuit against Activision Blizzard, and has weighed in on the newly emerged accusations about CEO Bobby Kotick. On November 16, it was reported that Activision Blizzard CEO, Bobby Kotick, was supposedly aware of issues of harassment within the company, but did nothing about it – an accusation he quickly denied. The allegations emerge amid the ongoing lawsuit against the company for fostering a “pervasive frat-boy culture” in the workplace. F**k Bobby Kotick. “This guy has caused so much f**king trouble,” he continues. “He has created so much f**king drama for this company. Everything that you hear outside of Bobby Kotick’s own words are negative about him – this person just makes the entire company look bad. • Asmongold hits back at Pink Sparkles critics after her furious outburst at housemate Mitch Jones – Dexerto

Asmongold hits back at Pink Sparkles critics after her furious outburst at housemate Mitch Jones Twitch: Asmongold / Pink_SparklesPopular World of Warcraft streamer Asmongold has lept to the defence of girlfriend Pink Sparkles after she faced criticism for her angry reaction to Mitch Jones being too loud while broadcasting late at night. Pink Sparkles has moved into a content house with fellow streamers such as Mitch Jones and Kbubblez, but after Jones came home from a bar with a challenge set by Mizkif and a mystery donator, Sparkles became furious with her housemates, and Jones specifically. The streamer has faced backlash for her outburst, prompting boyfriend Asmongold to defend her during his own broadcast. Asmongold has defended his partner Pink Sparkles following online criticism. Pink Sparklez screams at Mitch Jones According to viewers who claim to have watched the now-removed livestream, Jones received a challenge from fellow Twitch broadcaster Mizkif, who claimed he had a donator lined up who would give him $100,000 if he could persuade a girl to sleep with him. The group had spent the night out at a number of bars, and began loudly discussing the challenge with housemate Kbubblez on the return to their home. The group had clearly been too loud for the sleeping Pink Sparkles though. who could be heard yelling down the stairs at the group, screaming “shut the f*ck up” repeatedly. “Shut the f*ck up,” roared a clearly unhappy Pink Sparkles. “Shut the f*ck up or get out of the house. It’s 4am. Shut the f*ck up!” Jones immediately apologised on camera, saying: “Yeah, I should probably be quiet. I apologize.” Pink Sparkles responds to incident The clip quickly circulated on /r/LivestreamFail, with some calling her behaviour “bitchy” and “trashy,” with many asking what she expected when she moved into a house full of streamers. In a Twitlonger posted by Pink Sparkles, she addressed that her housemates “have gone out several times during the week to drink and have come home very late at night,” and that she doesn’t mind if they go out and party. Stating that she had a hard time falling and remaining asleep, Sparkles wrote that this wasn’t the first time she had been woken up by loud roommates, and that the house had a meeting to address it, coming to a mutual agreement that there would be a curfew from 2am to 10am in which time people could not be loud. “I admit that I was very frustrated at Mitch,” concluded Pink Sparkles. “Other people were just as much to blame for what happened, and I agree that the situation could have, and should have, been handled better by me. Pink Sparkles used TwitLonger to share her side of the story. Asmongold defends Pink Sparkles While many continued to criticize Pink Sparkles’ behaviour, Asmongold has come out in defence of his partner, stating that he finds the ridicule she is facing ridiculous. “It’s just good manners,” Asmongold told his viewers during his May 12 stream. “I’m amazed that this is even a controversy. It’s geniuinely disturbing to me that someone responding negatively to being woken up at [4am] by yelling is in the wrong.” “Even when it was previously agreed upon that this wouldn’t happen. I worry about the livestreaming community because this feels insane. Is it reasonable to be bothered? Yeah, I think so.” Mitch Jones, who was the aim of Pink Sparkles ire, has yet to comment on how he felt about the incident with Pink Sparkles, but tweeted that the broadcast was “one of [his] best streams in years.”

  • Asmongold hits back after Blizzard dev calls him an a**hole: “I don’t care” – Dexerto

Asmongold hits back after Blizzard dev calls him an a**hole: “I don’t care” Blizzard / Twitch: AsmongoldAsmongold hit back at a Blizzard employee who called him an “a**hole,” claiming that he “doesn’t care” and “talks sh*t about them all the time,” so it’s an eye for an eye. Asmongold is one of the most prominent and dedicated World of Warcraft streamers on Twitch. However, he’s been critical about the game for a long time now and has even tried to highlight Blizzard’s incompetence live on-stream. But it’s not the only MMORPG that’s copped his wrath. He also slammed Amazon’s upcoming MMORPG, New World, for their decision to implement purchasable XP. So, to mix things up, he recently decided to give Final Fantasy XIV a crack. He said it was “one of the most incredible streams he’s ever had,” and he plans on coming back again. However, a small streamer who plays the game said his “kind of hatred and rudeness is not welcome” in their community. It’s unclear what she’s referring to, but she urged others to “overwhelmingly report every single incident” he does. A Blizzard developer named Adam Holisky responded to her comments and said Asmongold is an “a**hole.” The tweet has since been deleted. However, it blew up on social media regardless, and it was eventually brought to Asmongold’s attention. But he didn’t seem to mind and urged his fans to stop harassing the people involved. “People keep linking pictures of Blizzard employees talking sh*t about me,” he said. “I don’t care. I talk sh*t about them all the time. I’m a big boy. I can handle it. I don’t need people harassing them to defend my honor.” People keep linking pics of Blizz employees talking shit about me I don’t care, I talk shit about them all the time lol I’m a big boy, I can handle it, I don’t need people harassing them to defend my honor — Zack (@ZackRawrr) July 4, 2021 It seems like all the complaining he’s done about World of Warcraft and Blizzard titles in general over the years has taken a toll on how the devs perceive him, and he more or less expected it. He still remains one of the biggest — if not the biggest — WoW creators out there, and comments like these aren’t going to stop him from playing any time soon.

  • Asmongold hits back at viewers claiming he’s happier playing FFXIV over WoW – Dexerto

Asmongold hits back at viewers claiming he’s happier playing FFXIV over WoW Twitch: asmongoldTwitch star Asmongold has hit back at viewers and denied claims that he’s happier playing FFXIV over World of Warcraft after switching up his MMO of choice. Asmongold is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars on Twitch, and when it comes to MMO’s, there isn’t really anyone close to his standing. The Twitch star made his name on World of Warcraft but has, in recent months, switched things up as he has dove into Final Fantasy XIV, New World, and now Lost Ark. However, fans of the MMO star seem to believe he’s happier playing one game over another, but he’s not so sure about those claims. In his February 18 YouTube video, the Twitch star explained why the endgame of FFXIV is better than WoW. Towards the end of the nearly 49-minute long video, Asmon responded to the claims that he’s happier playing FFXIV than WoW. “People constantly tell me I seem in a much better mood and I seem happier whenever I’m playing FFXIV,” Asmon claimed. “They kind of project their emotions of being happy that I’m doing it onto me and I really don’t like that.” While the popular streamer admitted he’s enjoyed playing Final Fantasy in the past few months, he explained he enjoys WoW just as much. “The truth is I love Final Fantasy, but I love sitting down and playing World of Warcraft – I love it,” he added. (Timestamp at 46:49) The MMO content creator continued by shutting down claims that FFXIV is better for his health: “FFXIV did not end up being better for my health. In a way it did, but not for the reason people might think. If it was any other game, it would have done the same thing. “The fact that so many people would support me and wanted to watch me play another game, that’s why it really made me feel good. That’s why I was really happy about it. It was because of that.” For now, Asmongold will likely continue to stream neither of the games. With the streamer playing the recently released Lost Ark, he continues to break viewership records and is averaging over 100,000 viewers per broadcast.

  • Asmongold hits back at critics who accuse him of “faking” mental health issues – Dexerto

Asmongold hits back at critics who accuse him of “faking” mental health issues Twitch: zackrawrrStreamer and OTK owner Asmongold came under fire on his subreddit from fans awaiting a particular piece of content. On a recent stream, Asmon discovered the backlash but was quick to fire back at select viewers accusing him of “faking” mental health issues. In March 2022 Asmongold and fellow OTK streamers raised $500,000 in support of Ukraine through a series of charity streams. As a tiered reward, Asmongold promised to make another entry in a popular series of streams where he regales viewers with tales of his original runs through major WoW expansions. In his latest stream, Asmongold was browsing his own subreddit when he came across a post counting the 466 days since he promised the content which is still unposted. “You guys are right on this one I do need to do it,” he said when he discovered the post. Things took a turn, however, when he read some comments on the thread that accused him of embellishing some health issues that plagued him recently. One comment suggesting he would “fake a panic attack” prompted him to ask “What’s this weird s**t?” “I just want people to understand, the reason I had that panic attack, it was because I had just spent like 13 hours playing a game,” Asmongold said. “I thought I had a blood clot. I went to the emergency room and got an ultrasound on my leg because I was really scared. That’s why I had a panic attack.” He continued reading the comments, some of which suggested that if they kept harassing him in the thread, he would take another break. A claim Asmongold also refuted. “It wasn’t because of comments or s**t like that. It had nothing to do with my stream,” he said. “It did in a way but like, not in that way.” The streamer said that he was fine with people calling him out on the fact he hadn’t uploaded the WoW stream yet. “Y’all can talk about this s**t (the Cataclysm video) all you want. That’s fine but don’t say I’m gonna have a f**king panic attack over it,” he said. “I just don’t want people to think I was using some mental or emotional s**t to have to avoid doing a stream.” Asmongold did explain the real reason he hadn’t yet streamed the Cataclysm part of his WoW series yet. “The reason why it’s harder for me to do the Cataclysm one is because I have to black out so many f**king things,” he said. “I’m probably just gonna have to put a default black box on the chat, just so nobody can read what’s in there.” The Reddit post that originally called this out has since been deleted and Asmongold hasn’t given a timeframe for when the stream will drop. He did say he understands that he owes it to the people who donated. “I know I need to do it.”

  • Asmongold hits back at critics claiming he wouldn’t give Final Fantasy XIV a chance – Dexerto

Asmongold hits back at critics claiming he wouldn’t give Final Fantasy XIV a chance Twitch: Asmongold, Square EnixWhile Twitch streamer Asmongold is best known for his World of Warcraft endeavors, his recent journey into the world of Final Fantasy XIV has critics eating their words. If there’s one thing that Twitch sensation Asmongold is known for, it’s the fact that if he’s got an issue, he says it. From slamming Blizzard’s outlook on WoW to Amazon’s new MMORPG, New World, his undiluted opinions mean that people either love him or hate him. In the case of a recent incident with one of Blizzard’s employees, the dev in question clearly isn’t a big fan of his soaring rants. Calling him out for being an a**hole, the king of MMOs addressed the situation on Twitch with a nonchalant “I don’t care.” As he strays further and further from the plains of Azeroth, though, fans have been wondering whether or not Final Fantasy XIV, his new game of choice, will come under the same scrutiny that WoW has. Asmongold hits back at Final Fantasy XIV haters As his relationship with Blizzard grows ever more complicated, the streamer has been playing a lot more of Square Enix’s iconic title, Final Fantasy XIV: Online. The community, however, immediately assumed that he would formulate a negative opinion of the title. Hitting back at a Reddit thread dedicated to this, he notes “this is what I was saying before. Everybody just thought I was going to completely s**t on the game.” “Why would I do that? There’s no reason for me to do that,” he concludes. From here, the Reddit thread praises him for taking a balanced approach to the game. Noting that “I do what I can man,” he goes on to address fears that the Final Fantasy community will hit back at him in-game. “I’m not worried about that kind of stuff,” he confesses. “The community in Final Fantasy have s**t on me before whenever I’ve said other things critical about the game. It doesn’t really matter.” So whether players like it or not, Asmongold won’t be leaving Final Fantasy in the dust anytime soon. It’ll be interesting to see how the community reacts to his choice to keep playing.

Asmongold hits back at criticism over his Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard streams YouTube: Law&Crime Network/ AsmongoldTwitch streamer Asmongold has come under fire from fans for watching the Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard during his livestreams. However, he responded by simply trolling back at his haters. The Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard trial continues to dominate Twitch as it enters its sixth and final week. With popular streamers such as xQc and Pokimane watching the events unfold during their livestreams, the trial has become a whole new meta all of its own. However, given the nature of the trial with allegations of physical abuse from both parties, the meta has been seen as controversial among viewers. One such streamer who has been including the trial a great deal in his content is Asmongold who fired back at fans who criticized him for playing into the meta. Asmongold fires back at fan criticism On May 24, Asmongold responded to fans who called him out for indulging in the Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard Twitch meta. The debate was prompted after he posted on Twitter: “One of my favorite parts of the day is cozying up in bed under the blankets and reading hate threads about myself.” The tweet sparked a comment from one of the streamer’s fans who called it “weird” that he was “hating on Amber as content.” Can I just say it IS weird that you are using the trial and hating on amber as content? — Foxfire (@dragon_aspect_) May 24, 2022 However, Asmongold quickly responded to the Twitter user saying that if his content about the trial “upset” them then they should “wait to see” what he has “planned next.” Yet, his comment only fuelled further debate as the fan responded: “Using it to create entertainment is inappropriate… Johnny is not some innocent angel and people are too blindly devoted to him just because he is a charismatic man and had iconic roles that people are nostalgic over. Not that I love amber, she’s crazy too.” Amber Heard and Johnny Depp’s civil court case is due to come to an end on May 27. Although, the judge’s decision will likely continue to be a hot topic of conversation among the streaming community.

  • Asmongold hits back at criticism over his comments on “fat, ugly” small streamers – Dexerto

Asmongold hits back at criticism over his comments on “fat, ugly” small streamers YouTube: Asmongold TVTwitch streamer Asmongold is hitting back at the outrage he received after claiming that it’s harder for smaller streamers to get views if they’re “fat” or “ugly.” Asmongold shook up the internet after giving his viewers an “uncomfortable, sh**ty truth” during a live stream on May 10. During his broadcast, Asmongold claimed that it’s harder for up-and-coming streamers to gain an audience if they aren’t fit or good-looking, claiming that lookism (discrimination against people deemed unattractive) plays a big role in someone’s popularity. “If you’re ugly, people won’t like you,” he said. “And this is even more true for girls. So if you’re really fat and really ugly, it doesn’t matter how funny you are, people just aren’t gonna like you. They don’t want to look at you. That’s it.” Asmongold’s comments sparked a big conversation online. While quite a few netizens agreed with Asmon, saying that attractive streamers are more likely to get attention, others hit out at the streamer for being hypocritical and accused him of fatphobia. However, Asmon is sticking to his hypothetical guns in this particular situation. In a response to Dexerto’s Tweet about his remarks, he said: “900+ comments. I can’t wait to read all of these in bed tonight.” Asmongold addresses outrage over “fat, ugly” streamer remarks He went on to react to the outrage during a subsequent broadcast and continued to argue his point, specifically making mention of comments that lashed out at his appearance. “I think that it’s a benchmark,” Asmon explained. “So, for example, if there’s something wrong with your face, then it’s a big issue. People don’t wanna look at somebody who has something wrong with their f*ckin’ face.” “But I would say, in general, if you look at the majority of people that are popular streamers, they are at least average to above-average attractiveness. I’m not talking about myself, okay? I’m saying the other people, the average. That’s just how it is.” “There are a lot of people out there who don’t understand statistics,” he continued. “It’s sad, but let’s be real — the reason people take a comment like this and then turn it around and personally insult me is because they took that comment personally. So don’t get mad at me, get mad at a mirror.” Asmon’s latest comments follow remarks made by Mizkif similarly addressing small streamers, notably telling them to “do better” and stop blaming low viewership on Twitch.

  • Asmongold has perfect solution to people “leeching” from his streams – Dexerto

Asmongold has perfect solution to people “leeching” from his streams World of Warcraft content creator Asmongold found an interesting solution to combat people who were re-uploading his content onto YouTube. Asmongold is the biggest World of Warcraft content creator out there, boasting an impressive 326,000 subscribers on YouTube and over 1.2 million Twitch followers. With such a large following, it’s no surprise that people all around the world are interested in his content. However, not everyone is able to watch his stream, so some fans opt for highlights instead. Many YouTubers chose to capitalize on this and created channels solely for Asmongold highlights, and have generated millions of views thanks to his content. On December 10 the WoW star announced his genius plan – he hired the people who used his content for their own channels to instead work on his official channel, creating a situation where everybody wins. “YouTube changed monetization, and some of the channels that most often uploaded my reactions were demonetized. So they reached out to me… and we came to an agreement to create an official channel for me together” explained Asmongold. He then showed off the new channel and, much to his surprise, it already had a highlight from his current stream. “Is this the end of leeches? No. Of course I’m going to help them out with this… the amount of people that watch these highlights and then watch my stream is huge” added the American, clarifying that these highlight videos have helped him, so he has a reason to help the people who are making them. After just two days this new channel has already reached 32,000 subscribers and is raking in tens of thousands of views, much to the benefit of everyone involved. Some of the other highlight channels were reaching millions of views, so it may not be long until this one explodes in popularity.

Asmongold has an interesting reaction to helping a fan get through cancer Twitter / BlizzardPopular World of Warcraft streamer and YouTuber Zack ‘Asmongold’ received a touching message from a subscriber during one of his streams of WoW: Legion. Asmond read the message aloud to his audience, which revealed that he’d helped the fan get through their cancer treatment. “Hey Asmond, I just want to say thanks for being you,” the message read. “You got me through a hard time. I got cancer, but you got me through it. • Asmongold gutted after being killed by a goat in Elden Ring – Dexerto

Asmongold gutted after being killed by a goat in Elden Ring Twitch: Asmongold/ FromSoftware Inc.Twitch streamer Asmongold was left devastated after he met an unfortunate end at the hands of a goat while playing Elden Ring co-op. As with FromSoftware’s previous Souls-like games, Elden Ring quickly became renowned for its high difficulty level and near-indestructible bosses following its release. One of the streamers who has enjoyed an enormous viewer increase thanks to his livestreams of the fantasy RPG is Asmongold. However, much like the rest of us, Elden Ring hasn’t always been easy for him. The Lands Between can be a perilous landscape. Even the most harmless creature can become a deadly foe as Asmongold, unfortunately, learned firsthand during his livestream. Elden Ring goat defeats Asmongold Asmongold was playing an Elden Ring co-op with his friend McConnell on May 21 when the two came up against a powerful fellow player. After the stranger killed McConnell, it was up to Asmongold to defeat them. However, his health bar was looking scarily low. Facing his doom, Asmongold said: “Guys, I feel like I’m going to lose this one.” Yet, it wasn’t the stranger who he needed to be wary of. At that moment a goat suddenly appeared in the game and landed the final blow against his character, killing him instantly. Understandably gutted by the move, Asmongold threw his face into his hands and was left speechless by his character’s unimpressive death. However, isn’t the first time that the Twitch star’s had a tough time against the Lands Between’s wildlife. He was previously left red-faced after he ran away to avoid a fight with a dragonfly. It wasn’t long until Asmongold was back on his feet again following his dramatic end against the ram. Although, he won’t be taking home the title of Elden Ring’s answer to David Attenborough any time soon.

  • Asmongold gives honest verdict on Andrew Tate’s ban from TikTok, Instagram, & YouTube – Dexerto

Asmongold gives honest verdict on Andrew Tate’s ban from TikTok, Instagram, & YouTube Twitch: Asmongold/ YouTube: StandOutTVTwitch streamer Asmongold is the latest internet star to share his take on Andrew Tate’s platform-wide bans, claiming that controversial figures should only be deplatformed for breaking the law. Andrew Tate has dominated the internet in recent months. It seemed as though every day the former kickboxing champion had sparked yet another heated dispute on social media due to his controversial comments, particularly over women. With the internet divided and concerns over the influence he could be having on impressionable young fans, social media platforms decided to do something about it. Adding to his indefinite Twitter suspension, Tate was subsequently banned from Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. However, according to popular MMORPG streamer Asmongold, deplatforming should be saved for individuals who use social media to “break the law” rather than having “stupid” opinions. Asmongold questions Andrew Tate social media ban When asked about his view surrounding Tate’s ban from Facebook and Instagram, Asmongold claimed that platforms should reserve such drastic action for law-breaking individuals as “freedom of speech must be protected.” “Should having really stupid opinions be something that you be deplatformed for?” the streamer asked. “In my opinion, it should be based off the law.” He admitted that he wasn’t entirely sure whether “it was the right decision to ban” Tate as he hadn’t fully looked into his content, but added that he generally believes “it’s a bad idea for people to be banned off social media entirely whenever they did not break the law.” Tate is currently under investigation reportedly following human trafficking and rape accusations in Romania which led to his home being raided by police, according to Daily Beast. He denies any wrongdoing. “I think the stuff that he says regarding women is 100% wrong,” Asmongold clarified. “I think Andrew Tate is an a**hole […] but I think that the line for getting banned on those platforms should be breaking the law with those platforms.” It’s harder for Tate to reach out to his dedicated fanbase due to his various bans. However, with numerous influencers including him in their content, Tate continues to dominate the internet for now.

Asmongold gives advice on how to handle online harassment YouTube: Asmongold TVPopular Twitch streamer ‘Asmongold’ released a lengthy YouTube video talking about his experience with online harassment and offered advice on effective ways to deal with it. Anyone who has spent a good amount of time on the internet or social media has likely experienced some unpleasant interactions with strangers online. Thanks to online anonymity and the internet’s ease of access, it’s become easier than ever for people to receive harassment online. Arguably, content creators and influencers often suffer the brunt of online harassment the most. As such, it can be a profession where creators need to have thick skin and effective ways to combat online trolls and bullies. Recently, popular Twitch streamer and content creator Asmongold made a lengthy video to talk about his experience with online harassment over the years as well as give advice to those who may experience similar situations in the future. Asmongold weighs in on online harassment On February 17, 2023, Asmongold released a 25-minute video titled “How I Deal With Harassment on the Internet.” The streamer opened up the video by saying that it’s “no secret that a lot of people have been harassed online recently,” and wanted to offer advice based on his own experience. Though not directly stated, Asmongold was likely referring to the recent Hogwarts Legacy controversy that has engulfed Twitch following the game’s release, which the content creator recently spoke out about. He opened his video by acknowledging the “unfortunate paradox” or “Catch-22” of creating online content, in that people should not pursue making content online if they are not prepared to deal with harassment, but harassment is something that should not happen online to begin with. The first piece of advice Asmongold gives is to properly categorize people’s feedback online. The WoW veteran noted that “people not thinking the same thing you do is not them harassing you,” but affirmed that hurtful comments about physical appearance or troll comments are examples of feedback that should be disregarded. Another piece of advice that Asmongold gives is to recognize that there is a difference between who you are online versus the person offline. “Whenever you take criticism [online] I think it’s important to kind of create an effigy of who you are online… People attack the person you are online—not necessarily you.” Asmongold’s full video takes a much deeper dive into this complicated online reality and it’s clearly a subject he’s passionate about. Those interested in content creation or the online social space should give the video a watch for some thoughtful advice.
