Asmongold freaks out over video of “John Oliver” roasting his hairline Asmongold/John OliverTwitch star Asmongold reacted to a fan edit of John Oliver roasting him for losing his hair and let’s just say, it went about as well as some viewers hoped. Asmongold has been the subject of balding memes for quite some time. Although it’s painful for him to enjoy, he’s joined in on the fun, even naming his own Final Fantasy XIV character “Asmongold Bald”. A fan-edited clip of late-night talk show host John Oliver has made the rounds online, and Asmongold finally reacted to it in shock. Fake John Oliver clip In the clip, John Oliver talks and points to edited-in pictures of Asmongold saying, “Wait a minute, you’re telling me this guy is bald? THIS guy? This man right here. You’re telling me this guy is bald. BALD you say? You might actually be right.” As Asmongold reacts with laughter, John says, “It looks like he kind of grew his left sideburn into a rat tail and..” That’s where Asmon cuts off the fun shouting, “Okay I’m f**king done! F**k you John Oliver! I’m not watching the rest. The ending was too personal.” Although the clip might’ve been a bit personal, Asmongold seemed to take the jabs at his hair in jest, laughing along the entire time. The clip was made by Reddit user efeus, and posted to the Asmongold subreddit. Asmongold is, and forever will be, the king of “malding.”

Asmongold freaked out by shockingly accurate AI stream of himself: “I don’t know what to say” – Dexerto
Asmongold freaked out by shockingly accurate AI stream of himself: “I don’t know what to say” YouTube: AsmongoldTVPopular World of Warcraft streamer Asmongold was left dumbfounded by an incredibly accurate AI version of himself, one that he even claimed was “100%” authentic. Artificial Intelligence or AI has been making waves over the internet in recent history. Chatbots like ChatGPT have been amazing on the internet with their ability to write out complex stories, and articles and even hold a full-blown conversation with a person. AI has become so popular it’s even begun invading Twitch, with channels such as nothingforever becoming massively viral for its satirical AI take on Seinfeld. However, it appears that AI has gone much further now, with programs being built for specific streamers, copying their phrasing, mannerisms, and delivery to a near-flawless degree. Most recently, Asmongold came into focus with an AI that has replicated him with “100% accuracy,” he said during a Twitch broadcast. The World of Warcraft streamer has been depicted rather authentically and is really causing quite a stir as a result. Asmongold even reacted to the AI version of himself on stream, which was attempting to make up a story that seemed as genuine as possible. Needless to say, Asmon was absolutely blown away by the AI’s ability to replicate himself. “Oh my god, that’s so good, what the f***, it’s so accurate yeah. I don’t know what to say.” Alongside this, streamer Athene was able to create another Asmongold AI, which he invited to a stream and had a conversation with, allowing chat to have a go at asking questions in the process. “What do you think about Starforge PCs?” the streamer asked at one point. Questioning the Asmon AI on real Asmon’s own PC building company. “Starforge PCs?” The AI responded. “Dude, why would I spend ridiculous amounts of money on a gaming computer when I can spend the same money on Dr Pepper? I’m just not into that whole expensive gaming gear thing. But honestly, if you like it, and you have the means, more power to you.” These videos have come in the wake of Asmongold quite literally tweeting that he “hopes that AI will advance to the point where I can program it to react to videos for me” only last year in December.

Asmongold finally reveals when he’s returning from Twitch hiatus – Dexerto
Asmongold finally reveals when he’s returning from Twitch hiatus YouTube: AsmongoldPopular World of Warcraft streamer Asmongold has finally revealed when he’ll be making his long-awaited Twitch return, after an extended hiatus from streaming has seen him not go live in more than 100 days. In the last days of December, Asmongold went live three days in a row. Across December 10 to 12, he streamed for over 23 hours combined. He missed his December 13-15 broadcasts, before announcing he would be “taking a break.” At the time, the streamer offered a time frame for his break: “probably a week.” Nobody was shocked. He and Pink Sparkles had just ended their eighteen-month relationship, and he was dealing with that. He’d be back soon, his fans said. That was more than 100 days ago. Zack was still active on social media, and even hosted the Allcraft podcast revival, but he simply wasn’t streaming. That is, until now. On March 26, the Twitch star announced a return date: April 2. “One week… streams will resume one week from today. April 2nd. Imagine if I’d said April 1. I don’t think anybody would have expected streams to ever come back. So, that’s the plan right now guys,” the streaming star revealed. He added he was “so very thankful” for all his Twitch fans who had waited patiently over the last few months. “Those of you that have not, I understand too, it’s been quite a while. I do apologize for that, but I think it’s about time.” I’ll be back to streaming April 2nd. 9-10am (ish) pic.twitter.com/NUKC84j68f — Zack (@Asmongold) March 26, 2020 According to the World of Warcraft personality, he was sitting in his car “talking to himself” when he decided to return. If he was going to talk about anything and everything just like he would with Twitch chat, why not just go back? “Usually those conversations I have are in the exact same tone as I have with my stream, so I figured might as well do that on camera once again. April 2nd, 9 or 10am, though I might be a bit late. Streams will resume [from then],” he said. He did add an exception. If WoW’s Shadowlands Alpha goes live, he will “go live the second the alpha goes live.” On top of that, he said that would be the majority of his early streams. “I plan to climb Shadowlands’ highest mountains,” he added. While many streamers treat their return streams as “big events,” Asmongold said he wants to just do “the usual stuff” during his April 2 broadcast. He’s never been one for big theatrics in his Twitch streams, and this seems no different. He made that clear in his parting message too: “I don’t plan on making this some big event, anything like that. It’s another get-together with the boys. Come watch, come chill. Thank you for sticking with me through all of this, and I’ll see you soon.”

Asmongold eyes Kick move after xQc signs $70 million deal – Dexerto
Asmongold eyes Kick move after xQc signs $70 million deal YouTube: Asmongold ClipsAsmongold dropped a couple of hints that he might be interested in “moving to another platform” in response to his fans asking if he will sign with Kick. Twitch had a firm grasp on the live-streaming world ever since it changed its name from JustinTV back in 2014. However, competitors that can contest Twitch’s iron grip on the space have finally popped up. YouTube was the first serious challenger to Twitch. They introduced their own broadcasting tools and improving them over time. As of June 2023, YouTube is still expanding its influence with an all-new streaming-focused Partner Program. And, while there are some livestreaming platforms that have fallen flat over the years like Mixer, there’s one competitor that’s putting some skin in the game: Kick. Kick has been growing exponentially over the last couple of months, leading up to them signing xQc to a non-exclusive, multi-million dollar contract. Asmongold has been following the growth of the platform ever since its inception, and while he was critical of the platform initially, Asmongold now says that new and up-and-coming streamers should “pick Kick”. Furthermore, the streamer dropped some tips that he is open to a non-exclusive contract with other platforms. Asmongold says “we’ll see what happens” to questions about Kick Following the huge xQc contract with Kick being announced, Asmongold Tweeted out a simple “hey @KickStreaming,” implying that he wants to get in contact. Trainwreck personally replied to the Tweet saying: “You already know bro, you’ve been a day 1.” Following this Asmongold addressed the issue on stream, as it can be seen in the clip made by his Asmongold Clips channel. “A lot of people ask me about if I’m gonna go to another platform,” said Zack in the clip. “We’ll have to see what happens.” The streamer then added that he “will not take an exclusive deal on another platform”, suggesting that a non-exclusive deal from Kick, YouTube, or Rumble is not off the table. We will have to wait and see who emerges victorious from this clash of streaming platforms. Asmongold explains why YouTube can’t “kill” Twitch despite signing big creators – Dexerto
Asmongold explains why YouTube can’t “kill” Twitch despite signing big creators AsmongoldPopular Twitch streamer Asmongold has weighed in on the Twitch vs YouTube debate, following the recent streamer signings. The Twitch vs YouTube Gaming debate continues to wage on, with more and more Twitch streamers seemingly jumping ship. With the recent signings of LilyPichu and Fuslie, YouTube continues to have its sights firmly set on Twitch’s biggest stars. While it’s certainly concerning for a streaming giant to lose so much of its talent pool, Asmongold believes that the recent poachings mean very little when it comes to “killing” Twitch. In fact, the popular content creator believes that the current Twitch vs YouTube debate is ridiculous. Asmongold on the YouTube vs Twitch debate During his recent stream, Asmongold gave his opinion on the YouTube killing Twitch debate. His opinion on the matter comes after 100 Thieves’ Fuslie quit Twitch for an exclusive YouTube Gaming deal. “There’s a lot of people moving over to YouTube. I mean YouTube is better. Well, if YouTube is so much better, then why is the only time people move over whenever they get paid,” said Asmongold. It’s certainly a strong incentive for many streamers, particularly when so much money is on the table. There’s also the freedom to produce content that isn’t always live – an area that many streamers often get burnt out over. However, Asmongold was keen to highlight that he doesn’t believe YouTube currently has what it takes to topple Twitch. “I’m sorry but I don’t really find it to be a compelling argument that YouTube is killing Twitch whenever the only time that people move to YouTube, is if they get banned from Twitch or paid a lot of money,” explained the streamer. “The moment that YouTube will actually be killing Twitch, is when people move over to YouTube on their own…The moment people make the switch without money being involved, that is when YouTube will really be killing Twitch.” So far, CouRage, Valkyrae, Ludwig, Sykkuno, LilyPichu, and more have made the jump to YouTube Gaming. While more Twitch streamers are likely to follow suit in the months to come, it’s clear Asmongold doesn’t buy into the streaming platform debate.

Asmongold explains why xQc or Ibai deserve Streamer of the Year instead of him – Dexerto
Asmongold explains why xQc or Ibai deserve Streamer of the Year instead of him Twitch: AsmongoldTwitch star Asmongold has explained why he feels like he doesn’t deserve Streamer of the Year nomination, telling his fans he thinks either Ibai or xQc should win the award. Asmongold is one of the most popular streamers on Twitch. His impressive 3.3M followers put him among the very top streamers on the Amazon-owned platform. However, while he’s one of the biggest streamers in the world, the 31-year-old Twitch star has explained why he doesn’t feel like he deserves to be nominated for Streamer of the Year. In a clip posted to YouTube on July 2, the OTK co-owner explained to his massive following why he feels like he shouldn’t be nominated for the award. “Yeah, I did get nominated for Streamer of the Year. But, if you want me to be honest I don’t think I deserve it,” said Asmongold. “The two people that deserve it are either Ibai or xQc. I think there’s no question that anyone else, maybe like one or two other people should be on that list. That’s about it. I didn’t even stream this entire year. I mean I didn’t even stream this whole year. Categorically, I shouldn’t be on the list,” Asmon argued. “Obviously I do pretty well, my stream does well, but am I really doing anything super innovative? I think you could say OTK is sure. But, on a personal level, I’m just pretty much just sitting here talking, giving my opinion and playing video games every once and a while.” Asmon further continued to explain what he thinks makes a streamer worthy of winning the award. He added that he believes creators who have innovated and pushed the streaming community forward are deserving of the prestigious award. However, it looks like xQc doesn’t fall under that criteria. Saying he “fell off”, xQc was completely left out of Streamer of the Year 2022 nominees.

Asmongold explains why VTubing is a “hack” for female streamers – Dexerto
Asmongold explains why VTubing is a “hack” for female streamers Asmongold, VeibaeTwitch star Asmongold explained why he’s actually a fan of VTubers despite the popular belief he doesn’t like them after he was asked about Veibae’s recent ban from the platform. Over the last few years, VTubers have exploded in popularity on video streaming sites like Twitch, YouTube, and more. Some of the more popular VTubers, like Gawr Gura and Veibae, have amassed huge followings online and have commanded a big presence on Twitch. Asmongold has spoken briefly in the past about his dislike of younger-looking VTubers, but now, has clarified he doesn’t dislike the genre of entertainers entirely. Asmongold praises VTubers after Veibae ban The 30-year-old streamer was live on April 17 when he reacted to Veibae’s Twitch ban. “I think the VTuber stuff, I think it’s funny. People got this idea that I hate VTubing. I don’t know where people got this idea, I have no idea. I do not hate VTubing. I think that it’s funny, I think that it’s clever, and I think that it’s a hack for female streamers.” Asmongold said. The OTK streamer continued, “Because, they get to go on, and everyone watches them thinking they are this hot girl, meanwhile the girl streamer never has to put on makeup, she’s probably sitting there with her hair up in a bun, hasn’t showered in three days, sitting there wearing sweatpants.” He finished his thoughts on VTubing and said, “Obviously this is kind of a hack, but nobody is complaining about it!” Asmon’s perceived dislike of VTubers could come from his comments back on March 15 when he said that VTubers who look too young are “gross.” Despite that, he clarified his appreciation for their craft and made it clear that he indeed is a fan.

Asmongold explains why Microsoft will still acquire Activision-Blizzard despite FTC challenge – Dexerto
Asmongold explains why Microsoft will still acquire Activision-Blizzard despite FTC challenge AsmongoldTwitch star Asmongold reacted to the news that the FTC will challenge Microsoft’s $69 billion acquisition of Activision-Blizzard and believes the deal will ultimately go through despite the legal pushback. Asmongold, along with the rest of the gaming and entertainment world, was shocked in January when Microsoft announced they’d be acquiring gaming-giant Activision-Blizzard for a whopping $69 billion. At the time of the announcement, Asmon shared the two biggest changes he wanted to see Microsoft execute for World of Warcraft once the company took over. However, the massive financial move has still yet to go through officially, and after some recent news, many believe the entire transaction could be in jeopardy. Asmongold believes Microsoft will still acquire Activision-Blizzard The 31-year-old streamer was live on November 23 when he reacted to the news that the Federal Trade Commission would likely be challenging Microsoft’s acquisition of Acti-Blizz via a lawsuit. Despite this news, Asmongold explained why he believes the deal will go through anyway despite a potential lawsuit. “I think that they’re probably going to let this go through. I don’t think there’s gonna be a lot of bullsh*t about it. There are many, many companies that provide services like what Microsoft and Apple provides.” He went on to say it’s “unlikely” the deal is halted and added, “In the times things were blocked in the past, there were only two or three major players in the space, and one of the biggest ones buys the second biggest one.” Asmongold believes there are enough competitors in the gaming space that this wouldn’t lead to a monopoly in gaming. However, he did praise the FTC for being cautious and reviewing enormous transactions like this in order to stop monopolies from growing. Although, ultimately, he doesn’t believe in this instance there are grounds for shutting it down. If you click on a product link on this page we may earn a small affiliate commission.

Asmongold explains why Kick streamer Johnny Somali should be spared jail time – Dexerto
Asmongold explains why Kick streamer Johnny Somali should be spared jail time Kick/Twitch/AsmongoldControversial Kick streamer Johnny Somali is facing criminal charges after being arrested in Japan, but Twitch star Asmongold doesn’t think the troublemaker should be getting any jail time. Johnny Somali became one of Kick’s biggest menaces during his trip to Japan after multiple instances where he upset locals, angered other streamers and instigated fights live on stream. After finally getting arrested for trespassing into a construction site in September and followed that up by another arrest for causing a disturbance in a beef bowl restaurant, Somali was officially charged. As the news that Somali could be facing jail time spread, Asmongold chimed in on the situation, explaining that it would make more sense to just deport him to save Japanese taxpayers money. Asmongold says Japan should just deport Johnny Somali During a recent Twitch stream, Asmongold was reading a Twitter/X thread about the situation and Johnny Somali potentially being banned from being able to reenter Japan – something he felt was the right decision. “I think [deportation] is what they should do,” the award-winning MMORPG streamer said. “As much as I would like to see him sit in jail, I would wanna see that from like a punishment perspective, because I think it would be funny. But this is wasting the Japanese people’s money.” (segment begins at 1:18) “Just get him the f**k out of the country and have him never come back,” he exclaimed. “Just get out, you’re done.” However, Asmongold reiterated that he wouldn’t mind seeing Somali behind bars still, because his actions were “willfully malicious.” “He went there to start trouble. He was trying to be obnoxious. He was trying to be a piece of sh*t and that’s bad.” So far, Somali is still being held in Japan and the outcome of the charges won’t be known until he either stands trial or pleads guilty. Until then, be sure to keep it locked to Dexerto for all the latest in streaming and entertainment news.

Asmongold explains why he’s taking a mini break ahead of WoW Classic AQ – Dexerto
Asmongold explains why he’s taking a mini break ahead of WoW Classic AQ Twitch: Asmongold/Blizzard EntAsmongold, immensely popular Twitch streamer and World of Warcraft veteran, has explained why he won’t be streaming ahead of the launch of the highly anticipated WoW Classic AQ launch, coming on Monday, August 10. World of Warcraft Classic, a server option from the immensely popular World of Warcraft, has enabled players to delve into a “faithful recreation” of the game’s state prior to The Burning Crusade expansion. Streamers, like Asmongold, have relished the opportunity to hop back into their favorite MMORPG. However, fans of the American will have to wait for his next stream, as he explained in a video uploaded to Twitter on August 7. In the video, Asmongold explained that he won’t be online on either Saturday or Sunday – the 8th and 9th of August respectively. The reasons for his absence were outlined, with the streamer describing the previous 24 hours as the “most painful” of his life. “My teeth, as you can see – I did not gain 100 pounds,” he said. “My jaw is swollen. I don’t know if it’s an infection or just swelling or what, but I just got back from the dentist a little bit ago, and seems like they can’t pull the teeth out until the swelling goes down.” Regarding streams this weekend and maybe the following week pic.twitter.com/8NM83SXegn — Zack (@Asmongold) August 7, 2020 “So I’m on antibiotics and some other sh*t,” he continued. “So I’m gonna have to deal with that for the next couple of days and I just need to take it easy and let this kind of settle.” He finished by explaining that he’ll be playing Minecraft in a week or so. He also said that he hopes to be able to do the World of Warcraft Classic AQ on Monday, August 10, but a lot will depend on how he fares over the weekend. However, he did caveat this with “no promises”, so it seems like it’s still up in the air whether he’ll be able to stream. Fans of the streamer will have their eyes firmly fixed on his Twitch channel ahead of Monday.

Asmongold explains why he’s “not surprised” Baldur’s Gate 3 is more popular than Starfield – Dexerto
Asmongold explains why he’s “not surprised” Baldur’s Gate 3 is more popular than Starfield Larian StudiosAsmongold explained on his stream why he isn’t surprised at Baldur’s Gate 3’s numbers compared to Starfield as the two titles battle for players post-release. Despite being released about a month apart, Baludur’s Gate 3 and Starfield have gone head-to-head in terms of player count and popularity recently. Both RPGs have struck a chord with the gaming community and are being played by some of the top creators on Twitch. Even though Starfield has not been praised as highly as Baldur’s Gate 3 critically, or by fans, it still is at the top of the download and active player charts on Steam. However, one game reigns supreme over the other and streamer Asmongold said he isn’t surprised by what the numbers show. Asmogold “not surprised” Baldur’s Gate 3 is more popular than Starfield While looking over the Steam sale numbers for both games on stream, Asmongold pointed out to his viewers the discrepancy between the two games as BG3 was ranked No. 3 and Starfield as No. 4. Baldur’s Gate 3 peaked that day with 396,702 active players while Starfield lagged behind with a little under 250,000. “I’m not surprised, I’m really not,” he said. “I think you’re probably going to see more of that because once the game gets more popular then more people are going to hear about it and then they are going to f***ing play it.” The comparison between games isn’t actually all that fair, however, as Starfield is available on Xbox Game Pass so the numbers are slightly off when looking at it from Steam’s perspective. BG3 could have made its way to the Xbox subscription service, but the developers decided it wasn’t worth the risk. Either way, Asmongold and the rest of the gaming community have put their stock into Baldur’s Gate 3 being the better game so far into their respective life cycles.

Asmongold explains why he’s “excited” by Adin Ross moving to Kick – Dexerto
Asmongold explains why he’s “excited” by Adin Ross moving to Kick Twitch: Asmongold/Adin RossTwitch star Asmongold has weighed in on Adin Ross’ switch to streaming on Kick, calling it an “exciting” move as he’s eager to see how it plays out. Over the past few years, Twitch has cemented itself as the go-to platform for big streamers, but there have been a couple of challenges for the throne from the likes of YouTube, Facebook Gaming, and Mixer. Following Twitch’s ban on gambling content, streamer Trainwrecks revealed his intentions to launch his own platform in the form of Kick. The new platform, which has looser rules than Twitch, has been live since the end of November, and some big streamers have taken advantage of that looseness in the rules by broadcasting different content than they usually do on there. Kick finally captured their first massive streamer when Adin Ross confirmed he’d be going over there as he’s able to do different content than he does on Twitch. He kicked things off with over 70,000 viewers for Super Bowl 57. Asmongold responds to Adin Ross swapping Twitch for Kick After Adin outlined his intention to stream regularly on Kick, plenty of streamers have weighed in, including Asmongold as he’s excited by the potential of the move for the Just Chatting streamer. “Excited to see how this plays out,” the OTK co-owner tweeted shortly after Adin’s announcement. “Honestly hoping Kick does well, it’s better for both streamers and viewers for there to be more competition in the livestreaming space.” A number of fans urged Asmongold to follow Adin in making the switch, but that’s extremely unlikely to happen. While streamers do have issues with Twitch – mainly over an increase in advertisements and changes to sub payouts – it is still by far the biggest streaming platform out there. It remains to be seen if Kick will be around long-term and become a viable platform to stream on, but its going to at least have a moment right now.

Asmongold explains why he would take Mizkif’s controversial Saudi Arabia sponsorship – Dexerto
Asmongold explains why he would take Mizkif’s controversial Saudi Arabia sponsorship Twitch/Asmongold/PixabayPopular Twitch streamer Asmongold revealed he would have accepted Mizkif’s Saudi Arabian sponsorship deal. On June 29, Twitch star Mizkif backtracked on accepting a lucrative deal with Saudi Arabia that included a trip to the Middle Eastern country after learning about the country’s numerous human rights abuses. The deal, which was also sent to fellow Twitch stars Emiru and Tfue, would have the streamers fly out to Saudi Arabia for four days to play Fortnite. After news of the controversial sponsorship broke, Asmongold decided to give his two cents and revealed that, unlike Mizkif, he wouldn’t have had any issue accepting it. @hasanthehun explained the issues with taking a sponsorship from Saudi Arabia Starting with how Saudi Arabia is maintaining a war with Yemen and allowing a famine to continue within the countries borders which Mizkif was not aware of pic.twitter.com/qUg0dOv71m — Dexerto (@Dexerto) June 30, 2022 Asmongold says he would take Saudi Arabian sponsor… sort of During a June 30 broadcast, the World of Warcraft streamer addressed the controversy, noting how the United States has its fair share of problems as well. “So basically, the way I make all of my decisions is a very simple question: is this beneficial to me?” explained. “And if it’s beneficial to me, then I do it. That’s it. Everything else below that, is like, I would say it’s subtext, but to be honest, it’s not even on the page.” With this in mind, Asmongold revealed he would actually have taken the Saudi Arabian deal, but there was “no f**king way” he was going to travel. This revelation had some fans wondering if he would ever take a sponsorship from Russia – something Asmongold had to think a bit about. “It depends on what it is. Like, if Vladimir Putin sponsored me, I don’t know, probably not, I think that would be kind of weird,” he answered. “But that’s about it.” We’ll have to wait and see if Saudi Arabia ends up reaching out to Asmongold for a potential sponsorship, but it’s clear that he won’t have any qualms about accepting, unless, of course, he has to travel.

Asmongold explains why he will never do “sh*tty” tier lists rating streamers – Dexerto
Asmongold explains why he will never do “sh*tty” tier lists rating streamers AsmongoldTwitch star Asmongold said that he would never make a streamer tier list after the fallout from fellow streamer Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel’s tier list. On June 15, xQc put out his Twitch streamer tier list ranking tons of streaming talent like Tyler1, Mizkif, and Asmongold. The list wasn’t taken kindly by everyone who made an appearance. Hasan hit back at xQc after the streamer placed him in the B tier, citing not his performance as a streamer but his unwillingness to bring him onto his stream after restarting his gambling broadcasts. Now, Asmongold has chimed in on the drama and explained why tier lists aren’t a good idea. Asmongold hits out at streamer tier lists after xQc drama The 30-year-old streamer was live on June 16 when he gave his thoughts on sharing tier lists of his colleagues, specifically, ranking them based on their looks. Read More: JustaMinx explains her bloody injuries were caused by wild animal and falling into cactus – “Attractive lists, I never did this back two and a half years ago because I can only imagine if you’re a girl and you’ve have body issues just like every single other girl as had that spends any time on the internet nowadays, and you see a popular streamer like me, xQc, Hasan, Sodapoppin, Ludwig, and Mizkif, and everybody in the chat is like ‘Oh, she’s ugly, rate her a C or a D, I can guarantee you’re not gonna be able to take that on the chin,” he explained. Asmon continued, “That would probably make you feel like f**king garbage. And you know what, that’s because it should.” The OTK streamer finished his thoughts on tier lists, “It’s a sh*tty f**king thing to have happen, and that’s why I never did it.” After the debacle stemming from xQc’s tier list, it doesn’t seem like we’ll be getting one from Asmongold any time soon.

Asmongold explains why he thinks Ninja streaming “everywhere” is a bad idea – Dexerto
Asmongold explains why he thinks Ninja streaming “everywhere” is a bad idea Ninja/AsmongoldFollowing the news that Ninja isn’t leaving Twitch, Asmongold has given his opinion on the iconic content creator’s plan to stream everywhere. Streaming superstar Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins shocked fans this week when he announced he would be taking a break from streaming. The content creator left fans completely baffled on September 1 with a cryptic tweet stating he’ll be taking a break and doesn’t know when he’ll be back or where. This news obviously shocked both his community and fellow content creators, who believed the announcement was part of a surprise YouTube Gaming deal. However, Ninja has shed light on the situation and revealed that he will now be streaming everywhere. It’s certainly a bold move and one that could drastically increase his following even further, but Asmongold believes it doesn’t come without some major caveats. Asmongold on Ninja streaming everywhere On September 8, Ninja announced that he no longer has an exclusive streaming contract and will instead stream his content everywhere. This includes Twitch, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook. The sheer amount of reach Ninja could secure from such a move could be incredible, however, Asmongold was keen to highlight the flaws behind this plan, saying, “I don’t really think this is a good idea.” He explained: “Let’s say you have a livestream on seven platforms and each platform has like 1k viewers, is it better to have seven livestreams that have 1k viewers or one livestream that has 7k viewers? I would probably argue that it’s better overall to have one livestream that has 7k.” Timestamp of 2:32 The main reason Asmongold believes this, is that it’s ultimately easier for audience interaction. He notes that having multiple streams across various platforms ultimately makes the audience experience worse. “It’s easier to communicate with your audience, it’s easier to talk to people, it’s easier to manage, it’s just easier in general,” explained Asmongold. “One thing it does kind of mean indirectly, is that the amount of audience interaction is going to go down tremendously because how is [Ninja] going to read seven chats at the same time?” While there are certain tools that will no doubt help alleviate a number of these issues, it’s something Ninja will have to think about when he takes on his latest venture. For now, though, we’ll have to see how well his streams hold up in the days to come.

Asmongold explains why he respects Logan and Jake Paul – Dexerto
Asmongold explains why he respects Logan and Jake Paul Twitch/Asmongold/Instagram/JakepaulPopular Twitch streamer Asmongold gave his thoughts on the influencer boxing brothers Jake and Logan Paul, explaining why he respects the duo. Jake and his older brother Logan have taken the boxing world by storm. With a 5-0 record, Jake has become a major player in the boxing scene, but Logan is no slouch either, notably going the distance against fight icon Floyd Mayweather. While the two have a relatively controversial history, this hasn’t stopped Asmongold’s opinion of them from changing over the years and as it turns out, they have earned his respect. During a March 31 Twitch broadcast, the World of Warcraft and award-winning MMO streamer explained just why he went from thinking they were “a**holes” to even liking them. Asmongold praises Jake Paul’s boxing journey Speaking to his viewers, Asmongold addressed Jake’s rise as a boxer and commended him for getting into the ring to begin with. “He literally got right into the arena. He got ready to get his ass beat, right? He got punched in the face for this sh*t,” the streamer said. “There’s actually something that’s entertaining about him.” At first Asmongold wasn’t sure about Jake’s fighting ability, but once Twitch chat reminded him about KOing former UFC champion Tyron Woodley, he agreed. “That’s the best part about it!” he beamed. Asmongold supports Logan Paul’s WoW opinion Asmongold went on to discuss how Logan turned his career around and even discussed the YouTuber’s views on World of Warcraft. “By the way, Logan Paul said the best game ever was Burning Crusade. He played a gnome mage,” he added. “So, I used to think Logan Paul was an a**hole, and he did do that NFT thing where he scammed people out of millions of dollars, but he liked Burning Crusade, so I think it’s kinda a wash,” the streamer joked. Seeing as how the WoW superstar supports the brothers, it will be fun to see if either of them react to his thoughts at some point in the future.

Asmongold explains why he quit playing Black Desert Online – Dexerto
Asmongold explains why he quit playing Black Desert Online Asmongold/Pearl AbyssTwitch star Asmongold told his viewership why he stopped playing Black Desert Online after joining a very intense guild that wanted more of his time and energy. Asmongold has played many MMO’s in his day. While he’s the king of World of Warcraft on Twitch, he’s also flexed his muscles in other games like Final Fantasy XIV and New World. He also played the lesser mentioned Black Deserto Online, or BDO. The sandbox MMO, developed and published by Korean studio Pearl Abyss, was brought over to America in 2016, which was when Asmon first built up a penchant for it. Now, the Twitch icon has given a closer look into his time with the game and his decision to not play it any longer. Asmongold on leaving Black Desert Online The streamer was live on his secondary account zackrawrr when he went into detail about his fondness for BDO, and why he eventually called it quits. Asmon said that he was in a “super sweaty, big d**k” guild called Gravity, which took the game quite seriously. “A friend got me into the guild, and it was really, really fun. But they wanted me to be on for siege practice, they wanted me to be on for sieges, and I had to do a bunch of different playing the game, and it was just exhausting.” He continued, “To do that and to also stream and play WoW, I felt like I had too many obligations. Instead of taking a step back and not taking BDO as seriously, I just quit the game. If I’m not ready to go big d**k, I don’t wanna go d**k at all.” For Asmongold, if he cannot fully commit to a game, he doesn’t see much of a reason to put it on the back burner.

Asmongold explains why he no longer makes money from Twitch – Dexerto
Asmongold explains why he no longer makes money from Twitch YouTube: AsmongoldTwitch star and MMO sensation, Asmongold, has revealed why he doesn’t make any money from streaming on his second channel. Despite his successes as a streamer, with Asmongold, there’s very little flashing off wealth. While other Twitch stars such as Felix ‘xQc’ Lengel reveal $300k cars on-stream, the Texan-based MMO player lives in the quaint house of his late mother, and has spoken about his desire to lead a simple life. For many fans, this lack of interest in material goods humanizes him. Despite this, he still says he is a “multi-millionaire” due to the revenue that his Twitch career provides. In a December 16 YouTube video, Asmongold explained that he actually now earns very little from streaming – especially on his second channel, zackrawrr. Asmongold reveals he makes no money on Twitch At the moment, the zackrawrr channel has become Asmongold’s home. In the wake of his mother’s passing, the streamer hasn’t returned to his main channel at all, and instead is mainly creating content for YouTube and his second channel. When asked whether or not he plans to monetize zackrawrr, he states “I don’t want to monetize the channel. I don’t want to do anything like that.” “The truth is, I don’t like talking about money,” he continues. “I’m a multi-millionaire, I’ve made so much money off of streaming, and I will continue to make more money off of streaming. I own a company, I also now, unfortunately, own a house. So, I’m good guys, I don’t need your money. I appreciate the subs whenever I come back to my main channel, but I’m not hurting for cash. “I could run some sponsored streams on this channel if I wanted to, just to try out some new games that I was already going to play that I don’t think are that good for main channel. I could make plenty of money guys, but I just don’t need to,” he concludes. (Related segment begins at 0:51) While he mentions that he would do sponsored streams “in case I have kids or something like that,” he notes that “for myself, personally, you guys know I lead a very simplistic life, and I prefer that. “I do not like to have strings attached to me, I find that physical objects are like a rope tying me down, and as few of those that I can have as possible is going to be my ideal situation.” So while Asmon may be one of the platform’s biggest names, he has no real interest in the fame and fortune that’s associated with it – even if he does splash the cash on the odd Chocobo plushie.

Asmongold explains why he “hates” Twitch culture and prefers YouTube – Dexerto
Asmongold explains why he “hates” Twitch culture and prefers YouTube YouTube: Asmongold TVPopular streamer Asmongold explained why he isn’t a fan of Twitch’s chat culture and revealed that he’d prefer to broadcast on YouTube if he had to pick between the two platforms. Asmongold is one of the most prominent streamers on Twitch, where he boasts a whopping 3.4 million followers. Asmon has been streaming on the purple platform since 2014 and has been an active World of Warcraft player since 1997 — but despite his prominence on Twitch as an OG gamer, he’s actually not a huge fan of the site’s overall culture. The OTK co-founder discussed the topic during the very first episode of the Steak and Eggs podcast on February 17, where he admitted that, if he had to pick between YouTube and Twitch, he’d switch to YouTube. Asmongold picks YouTube over Twitch as favored platform “If I had to pick one I had to do for the rest of my life, always, I would do YouTube,” he admitted. When the group got to discussing the pros and cons of the two platforms, Asmon admitted that there were facets of each website that he liked and disliked, but claimed that he genuinely “hates” the culture of Twitch chat. “To be honest, I hate Twitch culture,” he continued.” I think it sucks. ‘Oh, wow. This is a cool new joke. Let’s type it 400 times.’ And then, ‘Oh man, let’s [play] Marco Polo. You say this word, I say this emote. How clever and funny.’” (Topic begins at 56:06) He went on to agree that the predictability of Twitch chat has its benefits, but ultimately feels the platform has too many “weird” users. “There is a certain value on it. Like, have you ever had a cat, and you raise your arm up and the cat looks up at your arm? And you’re like, ‘I control you, b*tch.’ I can kinda feel that way whenever I’m doing my streams. Yeah, sure, but in general? I don’t know, man. There are so many weird things that people do on Twitch. It’s so weird.” “I think a lot more weirdos come from Twitch than YouTube, too,” Emiru added, to which Asmongold agreed. Asmongold streams on Twitch and also uploads content to YouTube, where he has over 1.7 million subscribers. It seems like he’s got the best — and worst — of both worlds… but with OTK announcing a slew of new content in the future, it looks like he’ll have a lot to look forward to outside of his regular broadcasts (and that all-too-predictable Twitch chat).

Asmongold explains why he doesn’t play Genshin Impact – Dexerto
Asmongold explains why he doesn’t play Genshin Impact AsmongoldTwitch star Asmongold gave his opinion on why he doesn’t play Genshin Impact while viewing Gamescom’s opening night with his fans. Asmongold has shifted gears as of late, switching from being a dedicated World of Warcraft streamer to a variety-MMO streamer. He’s ventured into the worlds of FFXIV Online, as well as the New World beta, and his viewer count has skyrocketed, making him one of the most popular streamers on Twitch right now. While streaming his live view of Gamescom, he had some choice words for Genshin Impact, admitting the game looks fun but sharing one main reason why he doesn’t play or stream it. Asmongold on Genshin Impact As a symphony orchestra played the Genshin Impact theme at Gamecom, Asmongold said, “I would play Genshin Impact if it didn’t have all that bulls**t in it. I would, it looks like a good game.” When a logo for an upcoming concert for the game popped up, showing the game’s characters playing various instruments, Asmon said, “I like how they superimposed a bunch of anime girls on there, ya know?” The “bulls**t” Asmon refers to is likely the game’s microtransaction system that allows players to spend incredible amounts of money in-game. Asmon has been heavily critical of games that offer visual upgrades for cash, and to him, Genshin is the absolute biggest offender. Asmon likely saw the orchestra as just one big ad for the game during Gamescom. These microtransactions are what have turned him off of playing and streaming what he otherwise calls a “good game.” Twitch streamer LilyPichu recently joined Genshin as the English voice actor of the character Sayu, debuting in the game on August 10.

Asmongold explains why DrLupo & TimTheTatman’s YouTube switch is “a real shakeup” – Dexerto
Asmongold explains why DrLupo & TimTheTatman’s YouTube switch is “a real shakeup” YouTube: AsmongoldIn the wake of Timothy ‘TimTheTatman’ Betar and Benjamin ‘DrLupo’ Lupo making the switch to YouTube Gaming, Asmongold has discussed what this means for Twitch. In the midst of the ‘A Day Off Twitch‘ boycott, streaming star TimTheTatman announced that he would be departing the streaming behemoth for the greener pastures of YouTube Gaming, Twitch’s biggest competitor. This follows the announcement that DrLupo would also be switching over to YouTube‘s streaming platform. Providing a home to some of the biggest streamers out there, including Valkyrae and DrDisrespect, YouTube Gaming is quickly picking up steam and piling pressure on Twitch. Fellow Twitch star Asmongold has voiced his opinion on the YouTube phenomenon, musing that it may be the revolution that the streaming universe needs. Asmongold on DrLupo & TimTheTatman YouTube move Tweeting out shortly after the September 1 announcement, the self-professed professional neckbeard predicts that major names switching platforms will be a “real shakeup” for streaming. “With the newest wave of big creators like Tim and Lupo moving to YouTube I think we could start to see a real shakeup in streaming overall,” he writes. “Now, we’re beginning to see entire viewership ecosystems moving rather than individual streamers. YouTube is making the right decisions.” With the newest wave of big creators like Tim and Lupo moving to YouTube I think we could start to see a real shakeup in streaming overall Now, we’re beginning to see entire viewership ecosystems moving rather than individual streamers YouTube is making the right decisions — Zack (@Asmongold) September 1, 2021 When asked whether or not he would consider a move to YouTube, Asmon revealed that “if I thought my streams would get more viewers there I’d stream on YouTube.” Joking that “I don’t really care about the money, but a contract with a 20 million signing bonus would help too,” it seems like the MMO king definitely hasn’t ruled out a YouTube switch. Most months I have 2x more views monthly on YouTube than I do on Twitch, if I thought my streams would get more viewers there I’d stream on YouTube I don’t really care about the money, but a contract with a 20 mil signing bonus would help too 🙂 — Zack (@Asmongold) September 1, 2021 Asmongold boasts 2.4 million followers on Twitch, a number that continues to skyrocket in tandem with the popularity of his Final Fantasy XIV Online streams. Losing Asmon would be quite the blow for the iconic streaming platform, but we’ll have to see where the road takes him.

Asmongold explains why childlike VTubers “shouldn’t exist” – Dexerto
Asmongold explains why childlike VTubers “shouldn’t exist” Twitch/Asmongold/IronmousePopular Twitch star Asmongold weighed in on the recent VTuber craze taking over streaming platforms and explained his big issue with those using childlike avatars. The rise of VTubers on Twitch and YouTube has been quite interesting to watch with the likes of Ironmouse even becoming the most subbed to female on the platform. Her own popularity hasn’t come without some criticism, however. Notably, on March 15, she was subjected to an influx of hate comments on Twitch after fellow streamer Quin69 took issue with her pretending to be 13-years-old and talking in a “stupid fake voice.” The controversy has now led to award-winning MMORPG streamer Asmongold to give his take on VTubers and whether or not they should be allowed on Twitch. Asmongold says certain VTubers make him “uncomfortable” During a Twitch stream, Asmongold actually echoed some points made by Quin69, claiming that VTubing was like “cheating” for female streamers. “Girls gotta put on make-up and look cute for the stream. They gotta do all this stuff. And now, they don’t have to do that anymore. And it’s not even a normal girl; it’s better than that, it’s a catgirl!” he exclaimed. “So every guy is like, ‘how do I compete with this? It’s impossible.’” Despite Asmongold feeling like VTubing is a “hack” for girl streams because they don’t have to look cute, he still believes it’s great to see as the scene involves. However, the MMORPG star went on to say that he takes an issue with VTubers appearing to be below the age of consent, saying it’s not something he’s comfortable with. Asmongold blasts “gross” young VTuber characters “I don’t care if she’s a 9000-year-old vampire, she looks like she’s 12. And that’s all there is to it,” he stated. “It’s weird. So that part of anime, I’m sure some VTubers have an element of that too, even if they don’t want to with their userbase, these things make me uncomfortable and I think it would just be better if they did not exist. It’s gross.” For his part, however, that’s all Asmongold took an issue with in the world of VTubing, and even put out a special request to any streamers who may have been watching. “If you are a perfectly legal, of-age catgirl with mega milkers, please DM me,” he jokingly begged. “Please.” So far, Ironmouse hasn’t responded to Asmongold’s comments, but it will be interesting to see how the VTuber community reacts, given the Twitch star’s presence on the platform.

Asmongold explains how “mid-life crisis” caused streaming hiatus – Dexerto
Asmongold explains how “mid-life crisis” caused streaming hiatus After a half-month away from streaming, Asmongold has provided his fans with an update as to why a recent “mid-life crisis” caused the short hiatus. Zack aka Asmongold is one of Twitch’s largest streamers with 3.3 million followers and a consistently high number of concurrent viewers. However, he’s also known to have a rather inconsistent streaming schedule. He recently posted a Twitter update on July 25 where he opened up to his fans. He stated that his life had been spiraling out of control and he is taking steps to reign it back in. While he hasn’t streamed on his main channel in a little over half a month, he has appeared on his secondary Twitch channel zackrawrr. Now, Asmon has posted a video to YouTube explaining the exact reasons for his absence. Asmongold details “mid-life crisis” He started by listing a myriad of reasons why he has taken an abrupt hiatus from streaming. His 15-year-old vehicle broke down and would cost $2.5K to fix, he walked miles to his sick father’s house in 110-degree weather, and breaks one of his teeth during an OTK meeting all within the span of a day. “It was like a reality check,” Zack stated. “I realized my life was completely f**king out of control. My sink was stopped up and there was black water in half of it. There was garbage all over my room and I couldn’t do anything cause there was trash everywhere. My car I’ve driven for 15 years, right? For about 12 of those years, if I got pulled over I was getting a ticket or arrested.” He also stated that there were “a million” other things that he needed to take care of like taxes and investments. “I had I guess what you would call a f**king mid-life crisis. I got so stressed out and so upset, I realized I need to take control of my life. It’s out of control for my standards, and that’s saying something.” Zack then stated that the reason he hadn’t been live for a while was that he was working to get his life back on track. He detailed how cleaning his room took five hours and he’s scheduled for dental surgery next week. While he claims he didn’t have intentions to take a break from streaming, he wasn’t in a place where he could. However, he does plan to return to his main channel following his dental surgery and recovery.

Asmongold explains how Katerino scandal affects other content creators – Dexerto
Asmongold explains how Katerino scandal affects other content creators Instagram/katerinotv/Twitch/AsmongoldTwitch streamer Asmongold weighed in on the recent Katerino cheating scandal, and how it’s going to affect other content creators during an April 15 broadcast. Asmongold, who is known for his impressive World of Warcraft streams, watched Katerino’s short video where she addressed rumors claiming that she cheated on YouTuber CallMeCarson with fellow content creator Fitz. Once he finished watching the video, the streamer went into detail about how this whole scandal can have negative implications for any YouTuber who enters a relationship with another content creator. “All the time that I was with Izzy [Pink Sparkles], I had to deal with these stupid f**king comments, of people accusing her of doing things and having intentions she didn’t have,” he said. “This made my relationship with her slightly worse.” The WoW streamer had dated Pink Sparkles for over a year, and while it was stressful, the accusations of unfaithfulness and alleged “gold-digging” didn’t help. “I think it’s something that’s in the back of the mind of a lot of other content creators who are out there and dating someone else who is also a content creator,” he continued. “The reason why people have that opinion and the reason why people think that and the reason why they’re paranoid is because of people like this.” “These are the people. These are the reasons that I have the problems that I have with her,” he blasted. He went on to say that people like Katerino “create a stereotype” and “narrative” that is harmful. “This has personally affected me,” he said. Asmongold then revealed that he knew even more information about her, and while he asked the person involved if he could tell it, the individual is still deliberating on opening up on the sensitive topic. Katerino claims she’s in therapy now and has apologized for her behavior, which has caused ample chaos among CallMeCarson’s fanbase as the situation continues to unfold.

Asmongold explains why explosive Twitch fame is bad for new streamers – Dexerto
Asmongold explains why explosive Twitch fame is bad for new streamers Twitch: Asmongold / TwitchPopular World of Warcraft star Asmongold has warned aspiring streamers against banking on explosive Twitch growth to “make it big” on the platform, and suggested it may even kill all momentum completely if handled wrong. Becoming the next internet sensation is every aspiring streamer’s dream, and it does happen, on occasion. A viral TikTok clip fired Neekolul into Twitch stardom. Humble Kiwi woodcarver Broxh also found himself — albeit less happily — in the spotlight after viral success. It isn’t always sunshine and roses though, veteran streaming star Asmongold has warned. In fact, he sees it as one of the worst ways to grow a channel, especially when the popularity is more than a small-time streamer can control. According to the World of Warcraft streamer, any time a Twitch channel sees an explosion in popularity, hundreds of new fans pour in to “see the hype.” These viewers may seem positive, but too many too quickly spell trouble, he said. The problem? If a Twitch star doesn’t build an actual community from the ground up, full of fans who understand inside jokes, and the vibe of the stream, the streamer can “quickly find themselves a stranger in their own community.” “Whenever a stream grows very quickly, and sees a large surge in popularity, it is extremely hard to create and cultivate and keep those inside jokes and the inside irony behind the jokes as pure as they originally were,” he said. Asmongold — who recently took a four-month break from streaming to give himself a mental reset — said he believes building a meaningful connection with fans is how a streamer gets, and remains, big on Twitch. “The key is trust. The reason that’s important inside a community is because it not only creates a community where you — the streamer or content creator — is comfortable, but your fans are comfortable too,” he explained. “If you find yourself growing too quickly, take a step back. Focus on building a core Twitch community. Make sure you know you have a lot of people watching you, and be aware of that when you’re creating content. Get away from inside jokes.” Asmongold isn’t the only streamer to speak out about the hidden negative side of explosive fame either — Neekolul commented on her “draining” rise to stardom soon after she hit the big time on the Amazon-owned website. Long-term Twitch star Rachell ‘Valkyrae’ Hofstetter, who now streams on Youtube, has also recently weighed in on the struggles of internet fame. She admitted she’s “always paranoid,” and struggles with that a lot in her career.

Asmongold expertly “babysits” lost Hasan viewers in chat while he is banned – Dexerto
Asmongold expertly “babysits” lost Hasan viewers in chat while he is banned Hasan/Twitch/AsmongoldWith Hasan banned from Twitch, his tens of thousands of viewers are dispersing across the platform and trying out other streams – leading Asmongold to joke that one out-of-context chat comment must have been from a “lost” Hasan viewer. On December 13, Hasan and two others were banned from Twitch for their use of the word “cracker” during their streams. Since then, Hasan has been posting on his YouTube channel as he waits out his ban. Now that his massive viewership has nowhere to go, it looks to Asmongold like some of them have stumbled their way into his channel. The phenomenon is sometimes known as “chat refugees” – when a banned streamer, or simply a streamer taking a break, has their viewers visit other channels in the meantime. Asmongold handles “lost” Hasan viewer While streaming on his second channel zackrawrr, Asmon was talking about the new controversial WoW book that has been accused of propping up racial stereotypes. While discussing the book, he noticed one viewer typing some messages in chat that had nothing to do with the topic at hand. He read their message back to them, “‘You realize communists are responsible for Covid?’ Uhm, so what we’re talking about right now is World of Warcraft. I know Hasan’s banned for a week, and you’re probably banned in his chat, but you’re gonna have to wait for him to come back, and then you’ll be able to have that conversation with him.” Asmon was shocked at what the viewer typed, and certainly got a laugh out of it. He cracked up and finished with, “Who are you talking to? What’s the point?” Hasan averaged over 30,000 viewers on many of his broadcasts, meaning there could hundreds of thousands of avid Twitch viewers now looking for new content to watch on the platform. Asmongold won’t be the only streamer with a potential inflow of these viewers. While Hasan serves out his Twitch ban, and his viewership is searching for a new home on Twitch, but Asmongold is having none of it.

Asmongold estimates streaming from second channel costs Twitch $150k monthly – Dexerto
Asmongold estimates streaming from second channel costs Twitch $150k monthly Twitch/AsmongoldPopular Twitch streamer Asmongold is costing Twitch a considerable chunk of change streaming on his second channel, as the platform reveals how much it costs to host content. Asmongold is easily one of the biggest content creators on Twitch. With over 3.3 million followers, the MMO streamer is practically a household name on the purple platform. However, for the past few months, Asmongold has been streaming primarily on his second Twitch account, which at the time of writing has close to 1 million followers. Despite his second account booming in popularity, it still remains completely unmonetized — essentially costing Twitch over $150k a month. Asmongold costs Twitch a fortune streaming on his second channel Despite calls for Twitch to expand the 70/30 sub revenue split to all streamers, in a September 21 blog post, President Dan Clancy explained that the platform won’t be making the change due to the site’s high overhead costs. According to Twitch, it costs more than $1,000 per month to host live video for a streamer who broadcasts 200 hours a month at 100 concurrent viewers using Amazon Web Services’ Interactive Video. Taking the math above into consideration, Asmongold worked out just how much it’s costing the platform streaming on his second channel. In his September 21 broadcast, he concluded that he cost Twitch over $158k in the last month, leaving him completely shocked. “I’m getting got, man,” he joked. “Yeah, that is uh… man,” he stammered while struggling to grasp words. “I’m paying them in exposure, yes of course I am.” Viewers noted that typically it’d cost the platform much more, considering he usually streams more hours. Nonetheless, he was taken aback by how much he’s costing the platform to stream – though it’s unclear if he’ll return to streaming on his Asmongold account after the shock realization.

Asmongold emotionally addresses Rich Campbell allegations: “These are crimes” YouTube: AsmongoldTVDuring a recent Twitch stream, Asmongold addressed the recent sexual assault allegations against Rich Campbell — quickly becoming emotional. On December 16, Twitch streamer Azalia Lexi came out with sexual assault allegations against OTK co-founder Rich Campbell. Just hours later, Campbell resigned from his position at the request of the organization. Asmongold addressed the allegations during his Twitch stream as well, becoming emotional in the process. Asmongold emotionally addresses Rich Campbell allegations Shortly after his stream ended, Asmongold uploaded his statement to his YouTube channel. “The reason I’m going to be talking about it probably more than anyone else in the org is that Rich was my friend,” he explained. “I wanna talk about it on a personal level and I want to say a couple of things. It was a big shock to me. It’s hard for me to process what’s been going on. “This is not drama. This is not getting canceled. These are crimes. It’s not f*cking drama, this is as serious as it gets. I took action as soon as I could. It just f*ckin sucks man.” Asmongold also explained that he went through and read everyone’s responses to the alleged sexual assault, and slammed those who are blaming Azalia or claiming she’s not telling the truth. “You are not on our team, you are not helping us, you are not doing us any favors by calling a girl that comes out and tells this kind of a story a liar,” he explained. Rich has yet to share his side of the allegations at the time of writing, but we’ll be sure to update you when he does.

Asmongold drops hot take on the difference between hard work and smart work – Dexerto
Asmongold drops hot take on the difference between hard work and smart work Twitch: AsmongoldAsmongold dropped a new take about how people interpret effort while reacting to a video diving into Baldur’s Gate 3’s development. While watching the video on-stream, Asmongold paused the video to say that people are more focused on the end product than the labor that goes into it. The top Twitch streamer is known for coming out with some controversial opinions here and there, and this latest one took aim at people looking past the product in front of them and focusing too much on the work that went into it. He also encouraged his viewers to “work smarter, not harder”, because it means they won’t work to hard to produce something that wasn’t worth the effort. Asmongold says people care about the end product over effort Asmongold said: “Nobody cares about the labor. Nobody gives a sh*t. That’s why everybody goes and buys Adidas shoes even though they were made in sweatshops. That’s why AI art is so popular. “Nobody actually cares about how hard you work on something. Please stop caring about how hard you worked. That is not a badge of honor. Oftentimes, it should be the opposite! You worked too f*cking hard to achieve too little. Work smarter not harder! “What the f*ck are you talking about: ‘we need to care about how much effort went into it?’ Asmongold also acknowledged that effort does have an important role, saying: “Of course it matters to an extent, and people can appreciate the effort involved, but don’t expect people to one-to-one value the effort. Because you can put a lot of effort into something and it be worth f*cking nothing. That’s just how it is.” For more news and updates on Asmongold, check out his take on what should be done about TikTok prankster Mizzy after he trashed a convenience store.

Asmongold dominates Twitch rankings with Elden Ring & Lost Ark return – Dexerto
Asmongold dominates Twitch rankings with Elden Ring & Lost Ark return Twitch: AsmongoldFollowing the passing of his mother, Twitch star and MMORPG titan, Asmongold, was slow to return to the streaming platform, but his reentry to the fray has seen him skyrocket up the rankings. Twitch has been dominated by two games in 2022: Lost Ark and Elden Ring, both of which fall into streaming sensation Asmongold’s wheelhouse. Having spent hours exploring the vast plains of Arkesia and The Lands Between over the past few weeks, the Texan has toppled both virtual and real life titans in his wake, skyrocketing up Twitch’s internal rankings and raking in some insane stats. Joining fellow MMORPG streamers at the top, the One True King is back in style and primed to snatch the Twitch throne once and for all. Asmongold dominates Twitch rankings upon return While the Twitch star has been streaming on his backup channel, zackrawr, Lost Ark’s release marked the highly anticipated return to his main channel. According to Twitch aggregator Sullygnome, Asmon has soared to the third most-watched streamer on the platform, lagging just behind Fextralife and xQc respectively. The self-professed professional neckbeard wracked up a peak viewership of 427,880, an average viewership of 104,987, with 414,955 followers gained. Not only did he end February with a bang, he also managed to accumulate 1 million subscribers on YouTube, a platform on which he continues to have notable success. Since his return Asmon has largely been focusing on Lost Ark, leaving old favorite FFXIV in the dust. He has also ventured into the Lands Between to inject some Souls-inspired chaos into his stream, even getting attacked by a pretty ferocious dragonfly on-stream. As he continues to go from strength to strength, it’ll be interesting to see how his numerous different adventures play out – and, more importantly, whether or not he’ll be able to topple xQc.

Asmongold doesn’t know if he will ever return to his main Twitch channel – Dexerto
Asmongold doesn’t know if he will ever return to his main Twitch channel Twitch: AsmongoldFollowing a wave of drama focused on OTK member Mizkif, One True King’s owner Asmongold claims he may never return to his main Twitch channel. On September 19, OTK member Mizkif was caught in the crosshairs of Trainwreck who lobbied some serious accusations at the streamer. Train alleged that Mizkif had orchestrated a cover-up of a sexual assault one of Mizkif’s friends had allegedly committed in 2020. With the gravity of the accusations, Mizkif – one of OTK’s co-owners – was put on leave while a third party investigates. Asmongold, being the face of OTK, has commented on the situation multiple times since it was brought to light. He even announced that he likely wouldn’t be able to stream the release of the WoW Classic Lich King expansion due to having to deal with the Twitch drama. However, he did go live for the release on September 26… but on his alternative channel. Asmongold may never return to his main channel Asmon went like around 12 PM EST on his alternative Twitch channel: Zackrawrr. This channel has almost 1 million followers and is used by Asmon when he is dealing with difficult situations in his life. And during his Lich King stream, he claimed he may never use his main channel again. “I put a tweet in my drafts that I was gonna tweet out that I was gonna go live on my main channel today. I woke up at like 7 in the morning and I was just having like a panic attack, and I was freaking out about it. I couldn’t go back to sleep at all,” Asmon stated. “So I just said ‘f**k it, and I just gave up. I don’t know if I will ever stream on my main channel again at this point. I’m going to be honest, I don’t know if I’ll ever stream on main channel again.” While Asmongold would be leaving behind a channel with 3.3 million followers, his secondary channel does pretty well in terms of viewers. At the time of reporting, Zackrawrr has over 70k viewers, the same amount he usually gets on his main channel.

Asmongold calls for Twitch to make controversial gambling streams “illegal” – Dexerto
Asmongold calls for Twitch to make controversial gambling streams “illegal” Twitch: AsmongoldAsmongold shared his thoughts on gambling streams, which have been a hot topic in recent weeks, and he called for Twitch to make them “illegal” and even claimed they’re “a thousand times” worse than the hot-tub meta. Gambling streams aren’t a new phenomenon on Twitch. However, they’ve been talked about a lot recently after Charles ‘MoistCr1TiKaL White criticized them for being “dangerous.” It’s a sentiment that others share. However, Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel claimed they’re no different to Pokemon TCG pack opening streams, and a heated debate between fans and streamers on both sides has been raging ever since. Asmongold chimed in on the issue, and not only is he against it, but he also called for Twitch to make them “illegal.” “[There has been] a lot of talk about gambling streams recently,” he said. “I personally hate gambling and, if it were up to me, all forms of casino gambling would be illegal. If it’s not against [Twitch’s terms of service], people will [still] do it, though.” For that reason, he called for Twitch to make a decision. But until that happens, he urged fans to not “hate on streamers” because they’re not doing anything wrong and that it “won’t change anything.” Still, that doesn’t mean he likes it. He claimed the gambling stream meta is “a thousand times” worse than the hot-tub meta, and it sounds like he wouldn’t mind seeing it scrapped once and for all. A lot of talk about gambling streams recently I personally hate gambling and, if it were up to me, all forms of casino gambling would be illegal If its not against TOS people will do it though, its up to Twitch to decide if it should be Hating on streamers wont change anything — Zack (@Asmongold) April 25, 2021 Walking what line? Any reasonable person would weigh gambling a thousand times heavier than a girl in a bikini — Zack (@Asmongold) April 25, 2021 It’s a controversial issue with valid points on both sides. However, Asmongold knows where he sits, and he didn’t back down. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops. Twitch might consider pulling the plug on gambling streams at some point. However, they’ve been a part of the platform since it first began.

Asmongold defends xQc over Twitch gambling sponsorship row – Dexerto
Asmongold defends xQc over Twitch gambling sponsorship row Unsplash/ Twitch: Asmongold/xQcTwitch star Asmongold has jumped to xQc’s defense after his fellow streamer came under fire for accepting a sponsored gambling promotion deal. Online gambling promotions continue to be a controversial topic among the streaming community. With some creators being offered huge deals to promote gambling websites during their livestreams, others have hit out at the scheme for the effect it could have on viewers. So, when Twitch’s biggest streamer xQc revealed that he would be promoting online gambling again, it caused a fiery debate. Especially, as he’s been open about his gambling addiction in the past. However, Asmongold has fired back claiming that the blame shouldn’t be placed on the streamer’s shoulders. Instead, the hate should be aimed at gambling itself. Asmongold supports xQc over gambling deal As the debate surrounding xQc’s gambling sponsorship raged on Twitter, Asmongold leaped to his defense. He argued that with streamers being offered such huge figures to do the promotions, they can’t be blamed for taking the deal. “Don’t hate the player hate the game, if people malding at this maybe make it illegal,” Asmongold said. “Nobody’s giving a f**k about a tweet when they’re getting a 7-figure check. “It’s pointless and naïve moralizing over gambling when it makes so much money. People will always do it unless there is a change in the rules. It’s too lucrative and popular to pass up.” It’s pointless and naive moralizing over gambling when it makes so much money People will always do it unless there is a change in the rules It’s too lucrative and popular to pass up — Zack (@Asmongold) May 17, 2022 However, Twitter users were quick to point out that Asmongold has spoken out against the promotion of online gambling. On numerous occasions, he’s called on Twitch to take action on gambling streams, even going so far as to make them illegal. Although, he has stressed that the streamers are not to blame for the issue. Asmongold has made his standing on the row over the use of sponsored gambling ads during livestreams clear. Yet, it is obvious that the dispute is far from over.

Asmongold defends Valkyrae in Twitch return: “People make mistakes” – Dexerto
Asmongold defends Valkyrae in Twitch return: “People make mistakes” Twitch: Asmongold / YouTube: ValkyraeAsmongold returned to Twitch, and one of the first things he did was defend Rachell ‘Valkyrae’ Hofstetter over the RFLCT skincare drama, claiming that “she obviously got played.” Asmongold took some time off streaming after his mother sadly passed away. However, he made a brief re-appearance in which he vowed to be “less of an a**hole” moving forward and confirmed plans to return in the near future. He followed through with those claims and returned to the platform on November 7. He also took some time to address the backlash surrounding Valkyrae’s now-defunct RFLCT skincare line, which forced her to see a therapist. “The RFLCT thing was dumb,” he said. “But Valkyrae, she obviously got played. That’s why she’s not doing the deal anymore.” He believes she could have ignored all the backlash still sold it. “A handful of people would have been pissed off. But that’s it, right? If she had just ignored it, she could have been fine.” However, he commended her for not doing that and believes it’s proof she got played. “She chose not to because she didn’t want to get played herself even if she did make money on it. Because you look like an idiot.” Still, he admitted that she should be held accountable, at least in part, for putting herself in that position. But he believes it will serve as a “learning experience” and reminded fans that “people make mistakes.” Asmongold isn’t the only streamer who has weighed in on the situation. Nadeshot, Pokimane, Sykkuno, and many others voiced their opinion, too. Valkyrae was very open about her struggles regarding the RFLCT drama, and how she’s now seeing a therapist. But the good news is that she’s back to doing what she does best – streaming – after taking a brief hiatus.

Asmongold defends Trainwreck after ChocoTaco dubs him a “villain” over gambling content – Dexerto
Asmongold defends Trainwreck after ChocoTaco dubs him a “villain” over gambling content Twitch: Trainwreckstv/AsmongoldMMORPG pro Asmongold was quick to jump to his fellow streamer Tyler ‘TrainwrecksTV’ Niknam’s defense after he was called a ‘villain’ by content creator ChocoTaco on Twitter for promoting gambling streams. Twitch star Trainwreck has made his name as one of the most popular gambling streamers in the community. Pulling in whopping amounts of cash by hitting the fruit machines, he’s also donated a great deal of money to charity and his fellow streamers. However, it hasn’t helped him to escape the criticism of his fellow creators for promoting gambling during his livestreams, which could have a potentially devastating effect on his influential viewers. It all got too much for Trainwreck on May 29, after his fellow creator ‘ChocoTaco’ accused him of being a “villain” who was trying to “camouflage” himself by doing “good deeds.” Trainwreck fires back at ChocoTaco On May 29, news circulated that Trainwreck had gifted streamer ‘GeT_RiGhT’ with a $16k CSGO sticker gift for his birthday. However, ChocoTaco responded to the news with a quote from Star Trek’s Jean-Luc Picard: “Villains who twirl their mustaches are easy to spot. Those who clothe themselves in good deeds are well camouflaged.” Trainwreck quickly fired back in a series of tweets clearly offended by being compared to a ‘villain.’ As well as having the motives behind his donations questioned “without knowing [him] at all.” During the rant, Trainwreck claimed: “The conclusion you decided to draw didn’t come from some deep reading based on IQ, it came from what I do publicly […] which contradicts the very f**king quote of hiding my villainous acts in acts of kindness you stupid mother f**ker.” and that no one else could then that presents an entirely different problem, but the issue with that is, the conclusion you decided to draw didn’t come from some deep reading based on IQ, it came from WHAT I DO PUBLICLY, OUT LOUD, TRANSPARENTLY, SAYING IT, DOING IT, WHICH — Trainwreck (@Trainwreckstv) May 29, 2022 But, ChocoTaco didn’t stop there and openly called out streamers who promote gambling in their content. Especially those who tell “viewers not to do the thing you’re promoting because you know it’s bad.” being paid to promote gambling is bad. It’s worse if you also tell your viewers not to do the thing you’re promoting because you know it’s bad. — chocoTaco (@chocoTaco) May 29, 2022 Train’s fellow streamer Asmongold also added his voice to the argument by showing his support for the gambling star. In particular, he called out ChocoTaco who claimed he was being “harrassed” by Train’s fans. “The only thing obvious here is that you thought you could talk sh*t to someone then pretend to be a victim when they do the same thing back to you,” Asmongold claimed. “Don’t you think your original post caused people to harass Train? Of course it did, that was your goal when you posted it.” The argument died down as the day wore on. However, this latest dispute is yet more proof of how the streaming community continues to be divided over gambling streams.

Asmongold defends Hasan for joking about Dr Disrespect’s affair amid NICKMERCS drama – Dexerto
Asmongold defends Hasan for joking about Dr Disrespect’s affair amid NICKMERCS drama Activision/DrDisrespect/AsmongoldTwitch star Asmongold is defending Hasan after the content creator joked about Dr Disrespect cheating on his wife in the midst of the NICKMERCS Pride month controversy. NICKMERCS’ comments about Pride month in schools and Call of Duty removing his Operator skin set off a firestorm in the streaming community. While some sided with him, others were seriously opposed. One of the first names to voice support of NICKMERCS was Dr Disrespect, who uninstalled CoD and demanded that Activision apologize for removing the skin. This ultimately resulted in Hasan joking that Doc was more loyal to Nick than he was to his own wife. In response, the two-time hit back at the “fat phony” and warned that he wouldn’t dare say those things in person. However, Asmongold believes that Hasan was within his right to make those remarks, even if he did so on Dr Disrespect’s anniversary. Asmongold sides with Hasan in feud with Dr Disrespect During a stream on his secondary channel, Asmongold stated that while Hasan was “mean” for making the comments, Dr Disrespect made a bad decision. He cheated on his f**king wife. Hasan is not obligated to be nice to Dr Disrespect. Am I crazy? We joke about Doc cheating constantly,” he explained. “Everyone is going to act like Hasan did that and he’s the worst guy ever?” The OTK leader also took issue with those believing Hasan specifically made those comments to coincide with Doc’s anniversary. “I don’t think Hasan was looking at a clock and was like, ‘oh, it’s their anniversary it’s turn up.’ I don’t think he did that. I feel like that’s unlikely,” Asmongold added. We’ll have to see where the rivalry between Dr Disrespect and Hasan escalates, but for now, it seems like Asmongold knows where he stands on this whole ordeal.

Asmongold defends Dream after finally admitting to Minecraft speedrun cheating – Dexerto
Asmongold defends Dream after finally admitting to Minecraft speedrun cheating Twitch: Asmongold/Twitter: DreamPopular Twitch streamer Asmongold stepped in to defend Dream’s apology over the Minecraft speedrunning drama, saying he acted as anyone else would if they had people try to expose him. Thanks to his Minecraft videos, Dream exploded in popularity in 2020, gaining huge followings across social media, especially on both YouTube and Twitter. However, the Minecraft YouTuber was plunged into controversy in December when one of his trademark speedrun records was rejected over alleged cheating, something which he denied for quite a while. Dream even had an astrophysicist try and clear him from any wrongdoing. Despite trying to clear his name, on May 29, Dream finally admitted to having cheats enabled for his speedruns which upped the spawn rate of some key items. Some long-time doubters have taken a victory lap following Dream’s apology, but others have also defended him. That includes popular World of Warcraft streamer Asmongold who said that Dream only acted as he did, because he’s human, and anyone else who was only so much pressure would have done the same thing.R “I mean after reading the apology, he admitted fault in a half dozen different ways and that the run was illegitimate,” Asmon tweeted after the apology did the rounds on social media. “Even though he did kinda play victim, he probably had millions of people trying to “expose” him or talk s**t about him. I think that would f**k with anyone’s head.” I mean after reading the apology, he admitted fault in a half dozen different ways and that the run was illegitimate Even though he did kinda play victim, he probably had millions of people trying to “”expose”” him or talk shit about him I think that would fuck with anyone’s head — Zack (@Asmongold) May 31, 2021 The Twitch star further added that anyone who was being “pushed” like Dream was would have gone into defense mode anyway. “If you look at him as a person rather than an entity, it makes sense for him to act the way he did,” he added. Yeah exactly, getting pushed like that by so many people would send almost anyone into defense mode, regardless of the reason If you look at him as a person rather than an entity, it makes sense for him to act the way he did — Zack (@Asmongold) May 31, 2021 Dream hasn’t uploaded a speedrun since the drama kicked off, but he has been active in the Minecraft community still, taking part his own DreamSMP server and the Minecraft Championship. It remains to be seen if he’ll ever return to speedrunning now that he’s cleared things up, but some fans will be hoping he does.

Asmongold defends CallMeCarson after grooming claims: ‘It’s not that bad’ – Dexerto
Asmongold defends CallMeCarson after grooming claims: ‘It’s not that bad’ YouTube: CallMeCarson/Twitch: AsmongoldCallMeCarson has faced major allegations in the opening days of 2021, being accused of grooming younger fans. Many top content creators have had their say, and popular World of Warcraft streamer Asmongold has explained why he thinks what Carson did is “completely fine.” Throughout January 4 and 5, a number of accusations were levied against Carson, a well-known Minecraft YouTuber. Several former Lunch Club members revealed that he had admitted to exchanging inappropriate images with a 17-year-old fan, while one fan — whether or not it’s the one originally mentioned is unclear — accused him of grooming her. While fans and critics alike debate the severity of the issue at hand, and former friends attempt to distance themselves from Carson, Asmon has made his opinion clear. Offering his “final verdict” on the allegations and drama surrounding them, Asmongold says that he believes what Carson did isn’t that bad. “I don’t think it’s that bad,” he started. “I don’t think it’s that big of a f**king deal and it’s not the end of the world. There are a million other things that a million other people do that are a thousand times worse than that.” That wasn’t all, though. He continued: “I don’t think that he’s a predator or a terrible person. I think he’s a goofball who got horny and talked to a girl. She was within two years of his age, I think that’s completely fine.” Adding that “maybe that’s a ‘down here in the South’ take,” Asmon obviously realizes that some people will disagree with him, but as he explains, that’s just what he thinks of the situation. Carson himself has not yet publicly spoke about the accusations being made, having gone radio silent on social media since they came out. However, we can expect him to come out with a statement of some sorts at some point in the near future. Obviously, there are two sides to every story, and from what he’s heard, Asmongold doesn’t believe what’s happened is really that bad.

Asmongold criticized for comparing Andrew Tate’s arrest to Martin Luther King Jr. – Dexerto
Asmongold criticized for comparing Andrew Tate’s arrest to Martin Luther King Jr. AsmongoldTwitch star Asmongold has been criticized for comparing Andrew Tate’s arrest in Romania on human trafficking charges to Martin Luther King Jr’s persecution. He said governments “frame people all the time” and could be doing the same for Tate. Andrew Tate’s reported arrest on December 29 on suspected human trafficking and rape charges has blown up on the internet. With the influencer taken into custody in Romania, alongside his brother Tristan, speculation has been rife about Tate’s viewpoints as well as his actions. Asmongold is known for not holding any punches when it comes to these big moments in news, but his comparison of Tate’s arrest to Martin Luther King Jr’s persecution has caught the ire of those online. The Twitch star claimed “the government frames people all the time”, and there’s a chance Andrew Tate could be used as a martyr like “they tried to f**k with Martin Luther King” due to corruption. “‘What’s the probability that the government wants to frame the Tate brothers?’ I don’t know, probably 50%. The government frames people all the time — from any of the leaks, from the way they tried to f**k with Martin Luther King, yeah absolutely the government f**ks with people. “Is Romania better than the US? I don’t know. I have no idea. I think it’s a very high chance they wanted to frame him. It’s not that it’s true, but it’s possible. A lot of things are possible. I don’t trust the governments.” He was quick to add just because he’s distrusting of the government doesn’t mean he’s automatically on Tate’s side: “Why would you think I trust Andrew Tate? You think I can only trust the government or Andrew Tate? What if they’re both lying? Don’t put words into my mouth.” However he’s highly suspicious of the arrest and the discourse around it, and no matter what the outcome is, it could be corrupt. “He could get arrested and be arrested because it’s some kind of corruption shit, or he could be let free because of some corruption shit. I think it’s extremely consistent when you think about it. “You can’t say he’s guilty until you know what the charges are, but people don’t like Andrew Tate so it makes sense.” He also mentioned the Andrew Tate arrest, and subsequent legal drama, is “probably going to be content for me for the next two weeks.” It comes after many streamers used the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard trial for content earlier in the year, which divided the streaming community. “I’m very thankful for this. If there is a trial, I’m sure Andrew Tate, with as much of an egomaniac as he is, will have the trial televised. We’ll be waking up at 8AM every day to watch this. We will be farming these guys in or outside of prison no matter what. I am super excited for it. All of the videos on this will be monetized. “It’s just great. We’re entering a new golden age. I don’t really give a f**k about this either way, it doesn’t matter to me.”

Asmongold confirms Twitch return after short break, hints at changes – Dexerto
Asmongold confirms Twitch return after short break, hints at changes Twitch: AsmongoldAsmongold confirmed he’d be back on Twitch soon after taking a short break from streaming to “recalibrate himself” and hinted there would be some changes moving forward. On August 31, Asmongold announced he was taking a short break from Twitch after telling fans he was feeling “really weird” about streaming and needed some time off to recalibrate and figure things out. He didn’t want people to speculate what it was all about. However, fans believe it might have had something to do with reactions to his comments about the #ADayOffTwitch movement and complaints that he’s “abandoned” World of Warcraft, which he hasn’t. The good news is that taking time off appears to have worked like a charm. Asmon is ready to go again and confirmed the date of his return on social media. “Streams will resume on Saturday,” he said. “Stormblood and my first P.O box stream will be this weekend.” He also hinted he has “some changes and stuff” that he wants to talk about once he goes live. Though rest assured he promised it’s all “good stuff” rather than bad. Streams will resume on Saturday Stormblood and my first P.O. box stream will be this weekend Have some changes and stuff I’ll want to talk to everyone about then! (Good stuff not bad) — Zack (@Asmongold) September 6, 2021 Asmon’s fans can’t wait to tune into his streams again. Not only because they miss his content, but also because it’s hard to find another streamer on the platform who is as passionate and outspoken as he is. And as for the good changes he’s got planned, we’ll have to wait until Saturday, September 11 to find out what he meant.

Asmongold confirms his plans for returning to Twitch & YouTube – Dexerto
Asmongold confirms his plans for returning to Twitch & YouTube YouTube: Asmongold TVAsmongold has confirmed when, and in what capacity, he will be returning to Twitch and YouTube, following his mother’s passing. During the week beginning October 25, Asmongold announced that his mother had passed away. The streamer had been incredibly open about his mom’s ongoing struggle with COPD, even revealing that he had saved her after a fire started in their family home. An outpouring of support greeted the announcement, with Final Fantasy XIV: Online players choosing to hold vigils and erect monuments all across Eorzea in tribute to her passing. Having been understandably silent for the past week or so, the streamer has made a brief return to YouTube to discuss the situation, and answer the question on everyone’s lips: when will he be back on Twitch? Asmongold confirms streaming return In an emotional November 4 video entitled “About my mom.” the streamer has announced that he will be returning to streaming, but the process is likely to be a slow one. “For like, what am I going to do now? What’s going to happen now?” he asks. “I don’t know when I’ll be back to streaming on my main channel, I have no idea. I really don’t.” Noting that several administrative issues still need to be resolved behind the scenes, he admits “I can’t really say when, however I would like to come on my alt stream [Zackrawrr] and just kind of give my f**king opinon about things; talk about stuff I’m reading online that I have to give my two cents for. It’s either I talk to the camera or I sit in front of a mirror and I almost have the conversation with myself. “I do want to continue making maybe YouTube content that I do on my second stream maybe a couple of times a week,” he tells fans to “keep up with my Twitter and I’ll let you guys know what’s going to happen.” [Topic begins at 28:33] As Asmongold’s fanbase and fellow Twitch stars continue to urge the streamer to take all of the time he needs to recover, it’s clear that he’ll be welcomed with the open arms of his community when he does return to streaming. He’s also said that he promises to be “less of an asshole” when he does make his return.

Asmongold claps back at ‘hypocritical’ New World podcaster nitpicking his criticism – Dexerto
Asmongold claps back at ‘hypocritical’ New World podcaster nitpicking his criticism Twitch: Asmongold/Amazon Game Studio’sAsmongold, real name Zack, decided to respond to insults from a New World podcaster who stated the streamer’s criticism towards the game is influenced by professional status. While on hiatus from his main channel due to his mom’s health, Asmongold has taken to his second channel to grind some New World gameplay. The creator has been critical of the game during the beta as well as since release, stating that he’s able to grind the same five quests to reach max level so he can say he’s “bored.” When Twitch podcasters ‘newworldordershow‘ heard about his comments, they claimed that Zack is influenced by money and professional status. However, when the creator got word of these judgments, he had the perfect response for the podcasters. Asmongold response to podcasters During an early October 18 stream on his second channel ‘zackrawrr,’ the creator was made aware of a clip from the New World podcasters stating: “I’m not gonna throw him under the bus, he threw himself under the bus.” They made these comments right after reading our report on how Asmon is reaching max level. The podcaster went on to mention: “There’s a certain amount of malice there that makes you wonder, professionally speaking, what his goal is.” Asmongold didn’t hesitate before responding to the insults: “I would take their opinion on being a professional seriously if they were professionals, the only reason they’re in the directory is because they were embedded onto the front page.” “I think that you can make a much stronger argument on a professional level that your opinion should be discarded much more than mine,” he continued. “because that box behind him as well as that power bank and hat were part of the influencer package provided by Amazon last year. I know that because I have one.” Zack went on to explain that if someone is going to call him out for having ulterior motives, they shouldn’t be wearing and displaying items provided to them by the company for free: “You shouldn’t throw stones if you live in a glass house.” This isn’t the first time Asmongold has been critical of a new game release, having recently made comments on Blizzard’s remaster of Diablo 2.

Asmongold claims he is “sick” of places like McDonald’s following Dollar Menu change – Dexerto
Asmongold claims he is “sick” of places like McDonald’s following Dollar Menu change Twitch: Asmongold, McDonald’sTwitch streamer Asmongold has steered his frustrations toward fast food restaurants, noting a major change that several of them have made to their popular Dollar Menu. Fast food chains such as McDonald’s, Wendy’s, and Taco Bell have many delights to feast on, but the dollar menu reigns supreme when it comes to getting a bargain. You can even bag some Overwatch 2-themed goodies in the process. Items like the McDonald’s McChicken or a small Wendy’s frosty come in clutch when you’re after a cheap hunger fix. However, over the years several fast food restaurants have decided to alter the Dollar Menu – leaving customers such as Asmongold on the sidelines. The popular World of Warcraft streamer unleashed his bewilderment toward this unpopular menu change. Asmongold blasts fast-food chains for “slick” Dollar Menu alteration When you’re streaming for hours on end, a quick fast food hit undoubtedly hits the spot. And Asmongold isn’t mincing his words when it comes to increased pricing at his favorite fast food places. “All these fast food places think they’re slick renaming the dollar menu to the “value” menu,” Asmongold exclaimed. The Twitch streamer explained that many chains are “charging 3 dollars for a small French fries” despite advertising competitive prices. “It’s happening everywhere and I’m sick of pretending like it’s not,” added Asmongold. The downfall of Dollar Menu prices isn’t just affecting Asmongold either. His followers have pitched in with their stories of disappointment, with Taco Bell amid many chains in their concerns. Twitter user Hecman15 said “Look at all the ‘value’ two dollars got me at Taco Bell. It’s the recession menu now.” Look at all the “value” two dollars got me at Taco Bell. It’s the recession menu now. pic.twitter.com/m4Qx1d7ZJh — Hector (@Hecman15) October 26, 2022 Some slick marketing maneuvers. All their dollar items you now need their app. Use McDonald’s app get large fries for $1. pic.twitter.com/VUnTd44eV6 — JOHNNYBULLET (@johnny_bullet) October 26, 2022 Other Twitter users such as johnny_bullet have kept tabs on chains like McDonald’s, bringing to light that Dollar Menu items are mostly accessed through their app. McDonald’s parted ways with the original Dollar Menu back in 2013. Could Asmongold be a figurehead in restoring the Dollar Menu to its former glory? Probably not, but at least we can find solace in Burger King’s Modern Warfare 2 crossover.

Asmongold claims Belle Delphine has joined his WoW Classic guild – Dexerto
Asmongold claims Belle Delphine has joined his WoW Classic guild Twitch: Asmongold / Instagram: Belle DelphinePopular WoW Classic broadcaster claiming that she has joined his Olympus guild. Asmongold is largely regarded as the face of World of Warcraft on Twitch, with thousands teeming into his stream to watch him and his Olympus guild take on quests and crawl through dungeons in search of loot. Now, it appears that his ragtag clan has a new member in its ranks, with Instagram starlet Belle Delphine reportedly the lastest addition to the Olympus roster, according to the streamer himself. 600During his October 8 stream, Asmongold revealed live on stream that Delphine had joined their WoW guild, stressing that he absolutely wasn’t joking about the situation. “We’ve got Belle Delphine joining the guild,” he told his audience, with a look of surprise on his face. “I’m not even kidding. She just joined the guild. I said she could join if she gave everyone a discount on her bathwater.” “I’m serious guys, I’m actually being 100% serious. Really. This is actually serious. She (directed messaged me) on Twitter.” Asmongold’s viewers were unsurprisingly stunned by the news, asking him to show the Twitter DMs as proof, with the streamer declining, saying he “doesn’t do that” kind of thing. Delphine has returned to the internet after months of silence following the banning of her Instagram account, posting an image of her supposed mugshot on Twitter on October 7. Fans of the model have been left scratching their heads, trying to figure out if the 19-year-old really was locked up for a bizarre incident involving a hamster, or if this is a ploy to go viral once again. While she may not be posting a lot on social media at the moment, she does seem to be working on levelling up her WoW character, if Asmongold is to be believed. So far, the Brit has yet to make an appearance on his stream, but with the pair now apparently in the same guild, it may only be a matter of time before she pops up on his channel.

Asmongold celebrates the crypto and NFT crash: “I don’t feel bad” – Dexerto
Asmongold celebrates the crypto and NFT crash: “I don’t feel bad” AsmongoldTwitch star Asmongold couldn’t help ut laugh at the massive crash of the crypto and NFT market as he’s been a vocal opponent of the technology since its inception. The cryptocurrency market, as well as the NFT market, are in complete freefall right now. One of the most popular cryptocurrencies, Luna, has collapsed entirely losing nearly all of its value in mere days. Asmongold has long been an opponent of investing in crypto and has said he’s worried young investors are in over their head when investing in the new technology – prompting his reaction to the latest crash. Asmongold reacts to crypto crash The 30-year-old streamer admitted he wasn’t even going to go live on Twitch, but when he caught wind of the crypto crash, he just had to turn the camera on. “I was about to post that I wasn’t gonna go live today. And then I thought, you know what, it doesn’t matter how I feel. I’m not gonna miss the day where NFTs f**king die.” Asmon cracked up with joy as he’s continually railed against both NFTs and crypto in general for quite some time. The OTK streamer continued, “I never feel bad for people who lose their money in this stuff. Because you’re betting on nothing. And as soon as people realize it’s nothing, they start selling and the price goes down.” Asmon finished his thoughts on the crash, “It has no intrinsic value. If everybody thinks it’s not worth anything, well, then it’s not wort anything.” Unlike company stocks, cryptocurrencies are not productive assets, such as a company, meaning their value is largely based simply on what others are willing to pay for it. The Twitch star certainly felt vindicated as he has been saying since the beginning that both crypto and NFTs weren’t a solid investment.

While he continues to grow throughout his Twitch, YouTube, and social media platforms, the streamer is likely to reach another major milestone in the future — and we’ll be here to celebrate with him.

Asmongold celebrates Diablo 4 launch with return to main Twitch channel – Dexerto
Asmongold celebrates Diablo 4 launch with return to main Twitch channel Twitch: AsmongoldAsmongold is celebrating the long-awaited launch of Diablo 4 with his first stream on his main Twitch channel since December 2022. Over the last few years, It’s become a bit of a meme that Asmongold never actually streams on his main Twitch account. Instead, he’s gone live nearly every day on his alt: Zackrawrr. As a matter of fact, Twitchtracker stats say that the OTK co-founder hasn’t used his main channel since December 17, 2022 — meaning he’s yet to stream on it in 2023. But on June 1, Asmongold shocked fans with the return to his main Twitch channel to celebrate the launch of Diablo 4. Asmongold celebrates Diablo 4 launch with main channel stream Shortly after his tweet was posted, fans began flooding his offline chat with love, support, and excitement for Asmongold to return to his channel for the first time in 2023. Before he even managed to hit the go-live button, there were over 9,000 fans ready to celebrate. Seconds later, over 3,000 more joined up as well. Known for his love for MMOs, fans have been wondering whether or not Asmongold was going to stream Diablo 4 at release like he has for many other games. Users flooded the replies on his tweet as well, with nearly everyone sharing their excitement. “WE ARE BACK ON THE MAIN BOYS!” one user replied. Another said: “You got this, man. Enjoy the moment & have fun. I’m happy to see you back on main.” While many others simply commented: “The return of the King.” This return to main comes just a week after Asmongold revealed that he was having issues with panic attacks after a visit to the emergency room prevented him from streaming the PlayStation Showcase.

Asmongold calls WoW community “trash” compared to FFXIV fans – Dexerto
Asmongold calls WoW community “trash” compared to FFXIV fans Twitch: AsmongoldAs Twitch star Asmongold continues to explore the vistas of Final Fantasy XIV Online’s Eorzea, he’s called out the WoW community for being “trash” in comparison to FFXIV’s. Asmongold’s iconic FFXIV character, Asmongold Bald, has etched himself into both Eorzean legend, and Twitch streaming history. Shocking himself with his stats after switching to the Square Enix title, the self-professed professional neckbeard’s popularity continues to snowball. Despite his FFXIV prowess, the streamer made his name in World of Warcraft, a game now scarred by the ongoing Activision Blizzard lawsuit that alleges the company freely allowed sexual harassment in the workplace. Making Eorzea his home, Asmongold has praised the FFXIV community for being so positive in comparison to WoW’s. Asmongold compares WoW and FFXIV communities As more and more streamers join the FFXIV universe, fans everywhere have been flocking to make them feel welcome. With fellow Twitch behemoths like Jaryd ‘summit1g’ Lazar getting almost royal welcomes, Asmongold has directly praised the game’s community. Referencing a clip by EsfandTV, where he called the community “so excited and so accepting,” Asmongold echoed these sentiments on his August 1 stream. “It’s been an incredible adventure, and I’ve really enjoyed it a lot,” he stated. “I saw a clip of Esfand talking about the Final Fantasy community as a better community than the WoW community, in terms of being supportive, etcetera. “Let me tell you something. That is completely true. There has never been a truer true that has ever been trued. I’ll be honest, the WoW community is trash. How do I know that? Because I was in it.” Although he clarified that “I am still in the WoW community, I’m just trying something different,” he concluded by saying “that’s basically how I feel about it.” While his roots will forever be within WoW, Asmongold has clearly found a place within the bustling walls of FFXIV’s vast cities, and we can’t wait to see where his journey takes him next.

Asmongold calls Twitch out for missing Kai Cenat’s sub milestone – Dexerto
Asmongold calls Twitch out for missing Kai Cenat’s sub milestone Kai Cenat/AsmongoldTwitch star Asmongold called out the platform for not honoring fellow streamer Kai Cenat’s achievement of hitting over 60,000 subs and becoming the second most subscribed channel on all of Twitch. Asmongold has never held back when publicly criticizing Amazon-owned streaming platform Twitch. Most recently he hit out at the platform for his secondary channel being banned, which ended up only being a brief suspension. Now, he’s calling out the platform once again, this time for what he believes is improper treatment of a fellow streamer. Asmongold slams Twitch over ignoring Kai Cenat milestone On August 26, Kai Cenat became the second most subscribed channel on all of Twitch, hitting a whopping 60k subs. Despite the very public achievement, Twitch was dead silent on the matter. Asmongold saw this as a slight to not only Kai, but the entire crew he came up with like Adin Ross and BruceDropEmOff. He said, “Crazy how Twitch can’t find the time to publicly congratulate Kai Cenat for hitting 60k subs or even acknowledge anyone in that community at all (Bruce, Adin, YRG, etc.)” Asmongolf finished, “Fastest growing community and if you only followed Twitch you wouldn’t even know they exist. Why?” In response to Asmongold’s criticism, banned Twitch streamer JiDion praised the 31-year-old broadcaster for his comments. He said, “Thank you for saying something, you have no idea how far this will go in helping black creators on Twitch.” JiDion called Twitch “racist” after the platform banned a streamer for performing a sexual act while live for just one week, meanwhile, JiDion has been permabanned from the platform since January for an incident with Pokimane, whom he’s made amends with. Despite Asmongold speaking out and a host of people echoing his sentiment, Twitch has still yet to congratulate Kai on his achievement.

Asmongold calls out Twitch streamers using trick to inflate views: “same as view botting” – Dexerto
Asmongold calls out Twitch streamers using trick to inflate views: “same as view botting” YouTube: AsmongoldTVPopular World of Warcraft content creator Asmongold is accusing streamers embedding their stream of “view botting”. Zack “Asmongold“, much like any big-name Twitch streamer, made his career by providing fun content, stories, and injecting his own personality and hard work into his content. This might be why the topic of view botting, taking shortcuts, or exploiting certain flaws with Twitch or the live streaming model gets such a reaction from the content creator. Asmongold uploaded a video on January 22 in which he reacted to Vex explaining how Final Fantasy XIV streamers are “view botting” via embedding their videos on popular websites. Zack himself called this practice “desperate and scummy.” Asmongold accuses streamers using embeds of “view botting” According to the Twitch star’s explanation, embedding is a practice where someone displays their stream on a website. This website then, when accessed, will autoplay the stream giving the broadcast on Twitch a view, while oftentimes the user is unaware any stream is even playing. “Embedding and view botting are functionally the exact same thing” the streamer commented. “I do not think embedding is different than view botting in any way.” Asmongold went on to explain to the members of his chat that this practice affects the entire platform in a negative way in his opinion. “I think it’s also worse for viewers. If people are view botting, and they are disproportionally boosting their channel up, they are providing a way for them to not have to earn that spot. And the way that people earn spots in the directory is by providing quality content. “If you have somebody who’s cheating their way to top directory spots, which is going to give them more visibility to a browse viewer. And then that browse viewer thinks ‘wow this must be an interesting stream because there’s a lot of people here’, and then they tune in and its view botted. “That person just had their time wasted,” concluded Zack The streamer also explained that he doesn’t blame people using this method, he simply wishes Twitch would not count that as active viewership or do something else about it.

Asmongold calls out Twitch for “unfair” GMHikaru ban for watching Dr Disrespect – Dexerto
Asmongold calls out Twitch for “unfair” GMHikaru ban for watching Dr Disrespect Instagram/gmhikaru/Drdisrespect/twitch/asmongoldAsmongold is accusing Twitch of unfairly banning GMHikaru after the chess streamer was banned for tuning into Dr Disrespect’s YouTube broadcast. Chess grandmaster Hikaru ‘GMHikaru’ Nakamura was hit with a three-day Twitch ban on March 22 after deciding to tune into Dr Disrespect’s chess match against Dr Lupo. Dr Disrespect was infamously banned from the platform in June of 2020 – something that prompted the two-time to take Twitch to court. While it’s still unclear why Doc was banned, his lawsuit with the site was resolved in March of 2022 – something that left many streamers confused. With the court issue behind him, many, including GMHikaru, incorrectly felt like they could interact with Doc’s content on Twitch and after the chess star was banned, Asmongold spoke out in his defense. This seems weird considering dozens of streamers (including me) watched both the Ice Posideon NFT scam controversy videos and reacted to Doc’s studio drama regarding NFT’s The rules are clearly not black and white and 3 days for not understanding an unstated nuance seems unfair — Zack (@Asmongold) March 22, 2022 Asmongold slams Twitch’s rules regarding Dr Disrespect In response to Hikaru revealing why he had been banned, Asmongold spoke up and called for more clarity from Twitch. “This seems weird considering dozens of streamers (including me) watched both the Ice Posideon NFT scam controversy videos and reacted to Doc’s studio drama regarding NFT’s,” he said, referencing another permanently banned streamer. As Dexerto reported, Asmongold was very critical of Dr Disrespect’s game studio, Midnight Society, integrating NFTs into the title, but he didn’t suffer any consequences for discussing it on Twitch. “The rules are clearly not black and white and 3 days for not understanding an unstated nuance seems unfair,” he added. Twitch viewers debate Hikaru ban However, as some pointed out, Hikaru was watching Doc play chess during his stream, which is a bit different than simply discussing them or their projects. Twitch community guidelines state: “It is prohibited to use your channel to knowingly feature or advertise a suspended user.” That said, others still agreed with the award-winning MMO streamer’s point, and accused the Amazon-owned platform of not being consistent with how it handles creators and bans. Whether or not this leads to a change in how Twitch enforces this rule remains to be seen, but the incident did make Doc feel bad enough that he decided to send Hikaru a bottle of Black Steel Bourbon. In any case, this ban should serve as a reminder to streamers that watching Dr Disrespect is prohibited – a sad reality given how popular and influential his content is.

Asmongold calls out “pathetic” Amouranth viewers for demanding refunds – Dexerto
Asmongold calls out “pathetic” Amouranth viewers for demanding refunds AsmongoldAsmongold has called out Amouranth viewers who demanded refunds after finding out the Twitch streamer was married, calling them “pathetic” for being so delusional. Amouranth recently went live with a shocking Twitch broadcast on October 15, where the streamer revealed the alleged abuse from her husband. This news was obviously shocking for both her fans and those who know her, with many of the Twitch star’s community coming together to share their support. However, there have been a number of Amouranth viewers who have been less sympathetic to her recent news. Following on from the livestream, certain members of her community have demanded that Amouranth refund their money after finding out she isn’t single. Asmongold has been keen to highlight how “pathetic” these individuals are and that they should be “ashamed” of themselves for making such demands. Asmongold calls out Amouranth viewers During his recent stream, Asmongold responded to Amouranth fans that had demanded refunds after finding out the streamer is married. In fact, one such viewer demanded that the Twitch star return them the 3k they supposedly gave her, which Asmongold was keen to highlight. “I think that you’re a f*cking idiot, giving her three thousand dollars – I don’t think it’s ok at all,” responded Asmongold. “You should be ashamed of yourself, you’re pathetic, and you deserve to lose your money.” “Hey don’t worry about it, think of it as you just paid three thousand dollars for a life lesson. Now, this might not be the first time or last time that you’ve learned that lesson, but it’s another episode.” Asmongold was keen to highlight that people that did donate to Amouranth never had a shot at dating the Twitch star anyway. He revealed that Amouranth never forced her viewers to donate money, while also highlighting that it would never have led to her acknowledging them in the first place. “I think these people deserve to be taken advantage of,” said Asmongold. “I think people like that are just pathetic, and they deserved to be treated that way. Maybe it’s just a stupid tax and I have no sympathy for them.”

Asmongold calls on Twitch streamers to challenge “ridiculous” DMCA laws after new wave of strikes – Dexerto
Asmongold calls on Twitch streamers to challenge “ridiculous” DMCA laws after new wave of strikes Twitch: Asmongold / PixabayWoW Twitch streamer and OTK co-founder Asmongold has called on fellow streamers to come together and change DMCA legislation amid fears over future bans and strikes. Twitch and DMCA go together about as well as oil and water. Under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998, streamers are not able to broadcast licensed music without risking a strike, as allowing the music to be streamed could see legal action be taken against the platform by record labels. But sometimes strikes are handed out completely erroneously and for the most bizarre reasons. Back in March, GTA RP streamer Ramee received a strike for “sirens and horn blasts” playing in the background, while more recently Warzone streamer NICKMERCS had to delete all of his VODs amid DMCA fears. Twitch has announced that they are planning to work with music labels to come to a viable solution that suits all parties, but this hasn’t stopped outrage at streamers losing VODs of previous streams. As such, Asmongold has suggested a potentially risky solution to undoing DMCA legislation and preventing streamers from being targeted with DMCA bans. “Streamers and YouTubers should get together and bribe (lobby) politicians to change these ridiculous and antiquated laws,” he said on Twitter. “Embarrassing that the internet still follows a law written in 1998.” However, other streamers questioned the viability of this tactic, as TSM streamer and Twitch partner Jake ‘ChocoTaco’ Throop said: “1998? we still follow stuff from the 18th century.” Current legislation describes a DMCA takedown as: “When content is removed from a website at the request of the owner of the content or the owner of the copyright of the content. It is a well-established, accepted, internet standard followed by website owners and internet service providers. “Any owner of content has the right to process a takedown notice against a website owner and/or an Online Service Provider (e.g. ISP, hosting company etc.) if the content owner’s property is found online without their permission.” Given the money behind record labels, it would take a monumental collaborative effort from streamers to successfully lobby politicians to change the system. As things stand, streamers will likely have to be patient while Twitch works with record labels to find a solution.

Asmongold calls on Square Enix to make Arcane-style FFXIV animated series – Dexerto
Asmongold calls on Square Enix to make Arcane-style FFXIV animated series Asmongold/Square EnixTwitch star Asmongold talked about his desire for a Final Fantasy XIV animated show and mentioned the franchise has had success with the medium in the past. Asmongold has returned to streaming on Twitch, which means his adventures in Eorzea have begun once again. He was streaming on his secondary channel, zackrawrr, when he went into detail about his desire to see Square Enix expand on the FFXIV world, outside of just the MMO. With the success of Riot Games’ new League of Legends-based animated show, Arcane, gamers have been pondering how other big franchises could benefit from a similarly styled show, with Final Fantasy being a prime example. Asmongold’s desire for FFXIV animated series Since Asmongold began streaming FFXIV on July 4, he’s grown an affinity for the game and its story. Now, he’d like to see that story expanded into different mediums. “I wish that they (Square Enix) would make an animated series,” he states. “‘There is?, what, Advent Child from 2007? I don’t mean that, and the f***ing movie they did in 2001. I remember the f***ing Walmart I bought Advent Children at – and when I mean I bought that, I mean I got my mom to buy that. And it was so good, man, that s**t was lit.” A viewer in chat was surprised that Asmon was a fan of the Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children movie, to which the streamer responded: “F**k yeah, bro, what do you mean? Hell yeah!” With Final Fantasy having a proven track record of popular movies like Advent Children, Asmongold believes the success of FFXIV could lead to a show based on the story of Eorzea. With the Endwalker expansion just weeks away, there will be four different expansions worth of story for a potential animated series to work with, not to mention the base game story as well. Hopefully, for Final Fantasy fans, Square Enix takes a note from Riot Games’ Arcane and deliver the show that players are craving.

Asmongold calls for streamers to boycott Twitch amid new changes – Dexerto
Asmongold calls for streamers to boycott Twitch amid new changes YouTube: Asmongold TVProminent streamer Asmongold is calling for other creators to boycott Twitch after the platform announced major changes coming to branded broadcasts. On June 6, Twitch revealed its new guidelines for branded streams, scheduled to kick in on July 1. Included in these changes are restrictions on what kinds of “burned-in” advertisements are allowed, meaning these ads can’t be a direct part of the actual stream. Twitch also rolled out restrictions for what kinds of branded content is allowed on its platform. The site does not allow the promotion of illegal substances, scams, or “hateful products or services.” Bu, more shockingly, Twitch is also banning branded streams for “political content, adult-oriented products or services, weapons, tobacco products, certain financial products and services,” and even “medical facilities and products.” These new guidelines have sparked quite a storm of backlash on social media, where several mainstream broadcasters have spoken out against the platform and are even encouraging a boycott. Asmongold encourages Twitch boycott amid branded stream restrictions Asmongold is one of these streamers. The popular MMO broadcaster, who recently stepped back from streaming on his main channel due to anxiety, is urging other creators who stream on Twitch to boycott the site as a result of these restrictions — or even leave the platform altogether. “I don’t say it lightly, but I think this is a legitimate situation where streamers should consider boycotting Twitch or moving to other platforms,” he wrote in a tweet. “Making common and harmless forms of advertisement literally against ToS so Twitch can monopolize more of streamers income.” Asmongold says he’ll leave Twitch if branded content guidelines go through That’s not all; Asmon also addressed the issue during a live stream that same day, arguing that Twitch was using these new guidelines to “monetize, monopolize, and take advantage of smaller streamers,” as well as bigger broadcasters. He also claimed that he will switch platforms if these changes actually happen, although he will still stream on Twitch every so often. “This is f*cking everybody over in a way that does not need to happen,” he said.” Yes, I will move to another platform non-exclusively. I will still stream on Twitch occasionally. If this goes through, I will start actively pursuing a deal.” Twitch streamers outraged by branded content guidelines Asmon isn’t the only streamer feeling this way. A slew of other popular broadcasters have spoken out against Twitch’s latest decisions, one of them being Jack ‘CouRage’ Dunlop, who notably moved to YouTube Gaming in 2019 as one of the first major creators to jump ship from the purple streaming site. “Joining YouTube Gaming in 2019 was the greatest decision of my entire career,” he said in a tweet addressing Twitch’s new guidelines. “Reminder: YouTube has gifted members, YouTube has a 70/30 split for creators, [and] YouTube has VASTLY more discoverability with Shorts.” Other streamers also offered criticism over Twitch’s impact on grassroots esports tournaments, with JERICHO writing: “Putting aside the fact that almost every sponsor I’ve ever done has necessitated these things, how the f*ck does ESL or any grass roots organization ever run a profitable tournament ever again?” putting aside the fact that almost every sponsor I’ve ever done has necessitated these things, how the fuck does ESL or any grass roots organization ever run a profitable tournament ever again???????? — TUCKER (@JERICHO) June 6, 2023 Dexerto has reached out to Twitch for comment on its new branded guidelines. It’s clear that streamers aren’t happy with Twitch’s latest move as the platform continues to come under fire — a development that follows a trend of many big-time broadcasters making the move from Twitch to other sites like Kick and Rumble.

Asmongold calls EEvisu a “piece of sh*t” following OTK Schooled cheating scandal – Dexerto
Asmongold calls EEvisu a “piece of sh*t” following OTK Schooled cheating scandal Twitch: Asmongold: Twitter: EEvisu:Asmongold has hit out at mash star EEvisu after he was caught cheating during the final round of OTK’s game show ‘Schooled.’ Streamer EEvisu won $50,000 after being crowned the champion of OTK Schooled Season 2, beating fellow small streamer ExtraEmily. However, things turned heated after viewers compiled a number of clips and images that showed EEvisu cheating during the episode’s final question. As a result, he issued an apology video, and ExtraEmily was proclaimed as the “real” winner of Season 2. Several streamers have already shared their opinions on the drama. Now, one of OTK’s co-founders Asmongold has given his response, calling EEvisu a “piece of sh*t” for cheating. Asmongold slams EEvisu for cheating As co-founder of OTK, fans were eager to hear what Asmongold had to say about the scandal surrounding EEvisu cheating in the final round of the Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?-style show ‘Schooled.’ During his livestream on April 26, Asmon admitted that he wanted to move on from the incident, but was annoyed by EEvisu’s actions. “I mean, the guy’s a piece of sh*t for cheating. I’m glad that he at least admitted up to it and I think let’s just move on.” EEvisu did issue an apology saying that he had spoken to the OTK team and that he wanted to have a “clean conscience” after the drama. However, the clip seemed a bit forced for Asmon, who accepted EEvisu’s apology, but claimed he only came clean because he got caught. “The thing is he admitted it after it was proven almost beyond a shadow of a doubt that he was cheating,” the Twitch star said. “It’s not like he just grew a conscience overnight. I think people grew a little bit of evidence overnight and then somehow he grew a conscience after that. So, that’s really what happened.” Schooled certainly was no stranger to cheating allegations. Although, earlier on in his stream, he claimed that it would be “totally f*cking amazing” to set up a ‘Summer School’ where OTK would bring all the ‘cheaters’ together to participate in a game show. Mizkif may have proclaimed that he was canceling the fan-favorite Schooled following the numerous cheating scandals. However, Asmon and his fans have found the perfect alternative.

Asmongold called out for having “homophobic” friends on Twitch stream – Dexerto
Asmongold called out for having “homophobic” friends on Twitch stream Popular WoW streamer and OTK owner Asmongold is being called out by his fans for having “casually homophobic” friends on his Twitch stream. Between all the controversy generated by both OTK and Starforge PCs, it’s been a rough year for Asmongold. He’s been addressing these issues openly on stream, however, and has had support from his fans through a great deal of it. However, a recent on-stream moment is being heavily criticized by fans of the streamer. He had some friends over to hang out in the background while he was live, and what their “casually homophobic” language has been called out by Asmongold’s viewers. And, while Asmongold didn’t directly say anything that agreed with his friends’ take, he didn’t condemn their words either. Asmongold’s friends called out for “homophobic” comments Asmongold was streaming on his second channel with some friends over. A chatter typed, “Who’s the Mexican?”, offending both of Asmon’s friends and prompting them to ban the chatter. One of Asmon’s friends said, “Cody’s a homosexual, not a Mexican.”, using the word homosexual as an insult toward Cody, one of the men on Asmon’s stream. Asmongold called out his friend, who he named as Jeff, by saying “Jeff, can you try not to get me banned?”, followed by claiming that “Jeff’s been banned on more platforms than Andrew Tate.” While Asmon did tell Jeff to stop, he didn’t condemn the words he was saying and said he just didn’t want to get banned. The friend to the left of Asmon, Cody, claimed that Jeff had been “banned from TikTok 15 times in a row”. A comment on the reddit post said, “He’s still having the convicted woman beater on his stream? Yikes” referring to Cody, and linked to a web archived affadavit related to one Cody Victor Ramirez Coy. It was used as evidence in a court case that led to this Cody being convicted of assaulting his girlfriend at the time. The commentor claims the on-stream Cody and the Cody mentioned in the affadavit are one and the same, but it’s yet to be confirmed whether or not this is the case by the man in question or Asmongold. While there aren’t too many people calling out Asmongold directly, fans have heavily criticized the company Asmon keeps.

Asmongold blown away by new MMO using him as a preset character – Dexerto
Asmongold blown away by new MMO using him as a preset character Twitch: Asmongold, Intrepid StudiosAs the veil drops around Intrepid Studio’s MMORPG, Ashes of Creation, it turns out Twitch star, Asmongold, has found his way into the game’s promotional materials. Set in the mysterious world of Verra, Intrepid Studio’s highly anticipated MMORPG, Ashes of Creation, tasks players with carving out their own destiny in a dynamic world that changes depending on their choices. Doesn’t that sound like the perfect place for Twitch star and MMORPG streamer, Asmongold? Well, funnily enough, it happens to be on the Texan’s to-do list. As he continues to explore Lost Ark’s Arkesia, he took some time out hacking and slashing to take a peek at some of Intrepid’s new promo material. Watching a dev video live on stream for thousands of viewers, it turns out there’s a familiar face in the character creation section that has the streaming sensation absolutely speechless – and we all know that’s rare! Asmongold floored by Ashes of Creation recreation While watching the promo material for Ashes of Creation’s character creator, the devs flick through a series of presets before coming to a rather perfect reaction of Asmongold (and, of course, he’s bald). “I know that guy,” laughs one dev. “Oh my God, I forgot about this guy. We were playing with the functionality [to see] how granular we could get in the customization options to create different personalities… Hopefully, Asmon likes this little rendition.” Grinning ear to ear, Asmon nodded along as they spoke. “Uh, yeah,” he laughed. “It looks good – it does, it looks good! Oh my God; that’s scary! Holy s**t, look at that!” Whether or not we see this preset model make into the actual game remains unclear; but the devs may keep it there simply because of the hilarity it caused; and also because it has Asmon’s seal of approval and saves him making a character. The flip side of that, though, is imagining millions of Asmongolds running around causing chaos. Asmongolds of Creation, anyone?

Asmongold blasts “stupid” DMCA rules after xQc’s ban for streaming Olympics – Dexerto
Asmongold blasts “stupid” DMCA rules after xQc’s ban for streaming Olympics Twitch: xQc, AsmongoldTop Twitch streamer and MMO star Asmongold has hit out at the broadcasting platform for banning fellow influencer xQc due to watching the 2020 Olympics on July 28, calling the suspension “stupid.” The 2020 Olympics are finally underway in Tokyo, Japan, and a slew of streamers are getting in on the hype. However, Twitch has been less than friendly regarding rebroadcasts of the Games, and is even hitting streamers with DMCA’s for merely broadcasting near Olympic venues in the country. Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel was the latest Twitch star to be hit with a ban after watching a Judo match between Japan’s Arai Chizuru vs Austria’s Michaela Polleres on stream on July 28. At first, Lengyel didn’t seem to be too bothered about the potential for a DMCA takedown, claiming that he’d be fine as long as he deleted the VOD of his broadcast. However, the streamer was hit with a five-hour ban shortly thereafter, prompting him to publish a statement apologizing for the misunderstanding and promising he’ll be “better/smarter next time, and follow guidelines more strictly.” Several high profile content creators have spoken out about xQc’s ban, including the likes of Tyler1 and MoistCr1Tikal, but Asmongold is the latest to throw his two cents into the ring… and he isn’t a fan of Twitch’s policies regarding the 2020 Olympics. I THINK I GOT MY CHANNEL LIVE-DMCA’d. I TOOK NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS AND THOUGHT IT WOULD BE FINE. REALLY DIDN’T EXPECT IT BUT I COUL’VE EASILY AVOIDED THIS. SORRY FOR EVERYONE INVOLVED INCLUDING THE VIEWERS. I’LL BE BETTER/SMARTER NEXT TIME AND FOLLOW GUIDELINES MORE STRICTLY — xQc (@xQc) July 28, 2021 “I hate — absolutely, f**king hate — the control that DMCA gives people,” he said of the situation. “It’s way too f**king much. I let people upload my content as much as I can and make money off it.” “I don’t make a f**king cent off of it,” he continued. “I don’t need to. It’s totally fine. I think that the philosophy, the law, with that kind of stuff is completely behind. It’s completely behind the times, and I think that they’re stupid and foolish for that.” It’s clear that Asmongold feels changes need to be made regarding DMCA’s on Twitch — and luckily, the platform recently rolled out a change that reversed the decision to make such notices permanent for streamers, although plenty of broadcasters are still disgruntled by the prevalence of takedowns on the site.

Asmongold blasts Pokimane hater: “You need to f**king rethink your life” – Dexerto
Asmongold blasts Pokimane hater: “You need to f**king rethink your life” AsmongoldTwitch star Asmongold has put one of his fans on blast, claiming they need to “rethink” their life after hating on fellow streamer Pokimane. The streaming community has been torn since xQc’s shock move to Kick, signing a non-exclusive streaming deal worth $70 million, but could push the total to over $100 million with incentives. While some are eyeing up a contract with the Stake-backed streaming platform, Pokimane has completely shut down the idea of ever joining Kick, stating she doesn’t want to “compromise” her “morals and ethics.” Drama amongst the community has since sparked, with fans and fellow streamers hitting out at the Twitch star, while others jump to her defense. Asmongold hits out at viewer hating on Pokimane In a recent June 22 live stream, Asmon was reacting to the situation, where he noticed a user in his chat going by the name of ‘snicker10101’ continually hating on Pokimane — leading him to put the viewer on blast. “Snicker should I just ban you bro?” the streamer asked. “You’re just spamming, how old are you, how old are you man? Like what the f**k are you doing?” The Twitch star then pulled up the user’s chat logs, showing them repeatedly spamming messages hitting out at Pokimane — where he took the opportunity to poke fun at his viewer’s profile picture of Tom and Jerry. “Are you 11 f**king years old?” he said. “What are you doing typing this drama bullsh*t in here? For like what, 10 minutes? Jesus, bro I’m not going to ban you but you need to f**king rethink your life. Jesus man, stop it.” While Asmon remains in a neutral position when it comes to drama, it’s clear that the Twitch star doesn’t appreciate his viewers hating on fellow streamers.

Asmongold blasts Pokimane’s “pandering” comments about playing Blizzard games – Dexerto
Asmongold blasts Pokimane’s “pandering” comments about playing Blizzard games Twitch: Asmongold / PokimaneAsmongold fired back at Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys after she claimed that popular streamers shouldn’t play Activision Blizzard titles. He described it as a “moot point” and claimed it was just “pandering”. On December 8, Pokimane shared her thoughts on Activision Blizzard’s involvement in multiple controversies. She claimed that financially well-off streamers shouldn’t play their games as a means to boycott them. Asmongold shared his thoughts on her take, and he came to a different conclusion. He believes streamers shouldn’t be expected to stop playing the games they want, and other people’s opinions shouldn’t influence them. “Did I see Pokimane’s take on big streamers playing Activision Blizzard games? Yeah, I saw it,” he said “It’s always hard to draw a line of what you should and shouldn’t support and why you should and shouldn’t support something. “In my opinion, I think that it’s just a complete moot point because people are going to do whatever is beneficial to them,” he added. “Any expectation otherwise is just stupid… It’s just pandering. That’s all there is to it.” Asmon insisted that other people’s opinions shouldn’t determine whether a person decides to play a game or not. “It doesn’t really matter what people tell you. It doesn’t matter what influencers or opinion-makers say.” In the end, he concluded: “The only thing that really matters to you… is what you want to spend your money on. You’re not really accountable to anyone on what you spend that money on, other than yourself.” Poki also said that she thinks streamers who keep playing Activision Blizzard games should be “extremely vocal” about the company’s issues. Asmonold has certainly done that. He described the allegations against the company as “shameful” and also expressed his support for the employee walkout. However, as far as boycotting their games goes, he believes it shouldn’t be up to anyone else except the player.

Asmongold blasts Ninja over Pokimane feud: “He’s 100% wrong” – Dexerto
Asmongold blasts Ninja over Pokimane feud: “He’s 100% wrong” Instagram/Pokimane/TwitchTwitch streamer Asmongold has weighed in on the controversy involving Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys and Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins, explaining why the Fortnite star is in the wrong. Pokimane and Ninja are two of the biggest streamers on Twitch and things between the two have become heated in recent days after fellow streamer Jidion was permanently banned for bringing a “hate raid” to Anys’ channel. After some confusion about Ninja appearing to help Jidion by contacting a Twitch rep and saying not to “ratio b***hes,” Pokimane shot back asking “why Ninja would help someone evade a ban for harassing me? I have no idea, I genuinely don’t know.” At this point, Ninja’s wife, Jessica Blevins, contacted Pokimane saying they were considering getting their legal team involved over defamation. Such a statement rippled across the streaming community with many big names including Asmongold giving their thoughts. Asmongold weighs in on Ninja vs Pokimane feud “This is just 100% Ninja being wrong,” the popular World of Warcraft streamer said while reading Jessica’s legal threat to Pokimane. “This is literally 100% Ninja wrong.” According to Asmongold, Ninja even looks worse than Jidion because he isn’t texting her legal threats or making additional comments after his suspension. “This is worse in my opinion,” he added. “He’s bringing out the legal team, like holy f**k man. It’s not her responsibility to smooth things over for people who are hurting her and making statements towards her that are not true.” Asmongold isn’t the first streamer to voice support for Poki in her battle with Ninja. Valkyrae, Ludwig, and more took her side, even knocking Blevins for lacking “common sense” in the whole ordeal. It will be interesting to see how this new blow-up develops and if the two make peace or escalate their conflict.

Asmongold blames Twitch for new ASMR meta after not banning hot tub streams – Dexerto
Asmongold blames Twitch for new ASMR meta after not banning hot tub streams Twitch: Asmongold/IndiefoxxPopular Twitch streamer Asmongold believes Twitch boxed themselves into a corner to allow the new ASMR and legging streams as they didn’t ban the hot tub meta. Twitch might be home to some of the biggest, and best, gamers in the world, but the Just Chatting section has always been a sore sticking point for some streamers and viewers. In recent months, the section has been dominated by the controversial hot tub meta, as streamers sat in their beachwear for hours on end. Plenty of streamers complained to Twitch about the streams, and suggested that Twitch’s lack of action against them would have dire consequences in the future. Well, that’s kind of happened with the new ASMR and leggings meta. The bizarre meta has seen streamers lay in front of their cameras, licking ASMR microphones, and even cluck around in Pigeon masks. While some viewers can’t get enough of it, Asmongold says Twitch is at fault for not acting sooner, and that they pushed themselves into a corner by ignoring the complaints. “Twitch wrote themselves into a corner by playing into the intellectually dishonest rhetoric that they won’t punish “perceived attractiveness” of streamers who make obviously sexual content,” he tweeted. “If they do something, they side with incels, if they don’t, they’re SJWs. Ideology>Reality.” Twitch wrote themselves into a corner by playing into the intellectually dishonest rhetoric that they won’t punish “”perceived attractiveness”” of streamers who make obviously sexual content If they do something, they side with incels, if they don’t, they’re SJWs Ideology>Reality — Zack (@ZackRawrr) June 18, 2021 Some responses quickly suggested that Twitch should just outright ban the content, or move it to a heavily moderated section. Others, though, said that if Twitch makes a change, the streamers will just find another way to make similar content. It remains to be seen if Twitch will do anything against their streams, like they did with demonizing Amouranth’s hot tub streams. For now, though, it remains the new meta on Twitch.

Asmongold believes Twitch shouldn’t ban streamers unless they break the law – Dexerto
Asmongold believes Twitch shouldn’t ban streamers unless they break the law AsmongoldTwitch star Asmongold has revealed he believes the platform shouldn’t ban streamers for breaking the rules in games unless they actually break the law. Twitch’s rules and terms of service are quite vast. While there are some grey areas in its community guidelines, the platform outlines precisely what is and isn’t allowed on the site. Of course, the platform is relatively strict when it comes to violence, sexual content, and hateful conduct. However, the community guidelines also state that it’s against the rules to break a specific game’s terms of service. With that said, a World of Warcraft streamer by the name of TinyViolin69 was recently hit with a Twitch ban after he sabotaged his fellow guild members during a raid — breaking the developer’s terms of service. However, according to streaming star Asmongold, creators shouldn’t be punished by the platform for what they do in a game unless they’re breaking the law. Asmongold says Twitch shouldn’t ban creators unless they break the law During his July 23 live stream, the Twitch streamer reacted to TinyViolin69’s ban, where he hit out at the platform’s decision, before saying he believes nobody should be banned unless they break the law. “I don’t think that anybody should get banned for anything unless things that are like against the law,” he said. “Like if Blizzard has a problem with him doing that they can give him the Tyler1 treatment.” He continued: “Ban any account that he’s on and do that, but they don’t. So like how is it Twitch’s responsibility to make this decision?” Asmongold then went off on a viewer, who commented on how in TinyViolin69’s case he had a lot of issues, with the chatter claiming “narcissism” was his biggest problem. “Wait so you think he should get banned because he’s a narcissist?” Asmon hit back. “What the f**k are you talking about, are you delusional? What are you talking about?” He added: “What, he trolled people in a video game, who cares? Like, It doesn’t really matter.” According to the tracking site StreamerBans, a total of 152 Twitch partners have been banned from the platform in the past 30 days, all for various reasons.

Asmongold believes Twitch gambling streams are bad for the streaming website – Dexerto
Asmongold believes Twitch gambling streams are bad for the streaming website Twitch: Asmongold/UnsplashStreaming star Asmongold wants Twitch to ban gambling streams altogether before they have dire consequences for the site later down the line. Twitch might be home to some of the best, and most entertaining, gamers in the world, but it’s typically the other categories that cause the site the most issues. In the last few weeks, hot tub and ASMR streams have been in the spotlight, with streamers calling on Twitch to act before things get out of hand and the site suffers dearly. While Twitch have made some changes – introducing new categories and banning streamers – attention has turned back to the gambling streams that have come under fire before, given that many streamers are advertising online gambling to a younger audience. Plenty has been made of these gambling streams in the past, especially given how much some content creators can make off the back of them, but Asmongold wants things to change. Previously, the World of Warcraft streamer called on Twitch to make the streams “illegal” but now he’s warned of the consequences they may have in a few month’s time if a change isn’t made. “Twitch needs to ban gambling streams full stop. The amount of bullshit and pitfalls this is going to create in the next 6 months will fuck the website in so many ways we don’t even realize yet,” he tweeted, referencing EU gambling laws and how they could pose trouble. Twitch needs to ban gambling streams full stop The amount of bullshit and pitfalls this is going to create in the next 6 months will fuck the website in so many ways we don’t even realize yet Just looking at EU gambling laws, anyone could see this will not end well — Zack (@Asmongold) June 25, 2021 Other streamers quickly responded, noting that some of Asmon’s OTK group have taken up these streams before. “I don’t hold doing gambling streams against any streamer because of how lucrative and successful they are,” he said, shifting the blame back on to Twitch. “It’s entirely Twitch’s responsibility to uphold integrity on their own site, not the streamers.” I don’t hold doing gambling streams against any streamer because of how lucrative and successful they are It’s entirely Twitch’s responsibility to uphold integrity on their own site, not the streamers Don’t hate the player, hate the game — Zack (@Asmongold) June 25, 2021 Twitch already has multiple gambling-related sections, and streamers are required to disclose when they’re being sponsored for said stream. However, it remains to be seen if the Amazon-owned platform will crack down further, or if some of Asmon’s worst fears will be realized.

Asmongold becomes Twitch’s most watched streamer with Depp vs Heard trial content – Dexerto
Asmongold becomes Twitch’s most watched streamer with Depp vs Heard trial content AsmongoldOff the back of his reactions to the Johnny Depp vs Amber Heard trial, Asmongold has become the most popular streamer on Twitch over the last few weeks, racking up some ridiculous numbers. Since the middle of April, the internet has been completely taken over by the defamation trial between movie stars Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, with pretty much everybody weighing in with their take on proceedings. Many of Twitch’s top names used it as a part of their daily broadcast, spending hours upon end watching the legal proceedings as they unfolded, and then watching further reactions from experts who offered a bit more legal insight. Though, there were plenty of critics of that practice. With the jury ultimately finding in favor of Depp on June 1, streamers have had to move on from the trial but it’s proven to be a massively successful period for some – with Asmongold coming out as the biggest winner of the bunch. The MMO streamer, who is typically found playing Final Fantasy or World of Warcraft, dedicated plenty of hours to the final few days of the defamation trial, claiming the throne as the site’s most popular streamer as a result. As per stats from SullyGnome, Asmon’s streams racked up over 12 million hours in watch time since May 20th, which is around 400,000 more hours versus xQc who sits in second place for the same timeframe. On top of that, he averaged over 117,000 viewers, which was only beaten by LCK and PGL – both streaming major Esports events. However, he blew away everyone’s else stats upon the conclusion of the trial as his broadcast peaked at around 450,000 viewers. The MMO streamer will likely hold on to his spot at the top for a little while but expect him to be dethroned before long. With the way Twitch works, a new ‘meta’ will take over before long and those early adopters will skyrocket to the top – even if it is only for a brief moment.

Asmongold opens up on his battle with Twitch anxiety: “I just feel like a loser” – Dexerto
Asmongold opens up on his battle with Twitch anxiety: “I just feel like a loser” Twitch: AsmongoldAsmongold may be taking another break from Twitch very soon, with the popular streamer opening up on his ongoing struggles with “performance stress” and major anxiety from broadcasting over the past eight years. The Twitch star has been streaming since 2014. In that time he’s grown his modest World of Warcraft audience into one of the biggest on the Amazon-owned platform. Right now, Asmongold boasts a massive two million Twitch followers, and has raked in 12.3k subscribers in June. Across his eight years, the streamer has inked his name into the Twitch history books plenty of times too. When WoW Classic first launched in 2019 the 30-year-old helped the category crack one million viewers, and cracked personal records when he first hit level 60 on the same remastered title. It’s clear the popular star has enjoyed plenty of success on Twitch. Beneath the surface, however, Asmongold admits he’s “struggling with really bad anxiety.” The problem, Asmongold explained during a June 14 stream on his ‘zackrawrr’ account, has been something that has plagued him since he was young. It’s “not exactly depression,” he said, but he gets “overwhelmed” with performance anxiety. “It gets in my head, and I can’t really deal with it. I’ve tried to do other things [instead of playing World of Warcraft] on my stream, and when things happen I don’t expect I just shut down completely,” the streamer revealed. “I have horrible performance anxiety. “I can’t even pretend [to be okay] either, when it happens, and it does really make me feel like complete shit, right? I’m not really… it makes me feel like a loser. (Trigger warning: suicide). “That’s really what it is. I sit there, and I’m thinking ‘everyone else can do this properly,’ and then I just can’t. It makes me feel like I’m a failure, in a way. I just can’t deal with it. I just can’t f**king deal with it. Honestly, looking back at footage [and seeing his reactions] makes me want to kill myself. It’s really bad.” He added: “Streaming puts a huge amount of stress on me.” Twice recently Asmongold has taken extended breaks from streaming in a bid to “manage” his issues, and the streamer admits there’s every likelihood he’ll have to take more time off in the future too, as his anxiety problems continue. “It’s why I have to take breaks,” he said. He repeated, “It’s why I have to take breaks. I don’t want to be in that mindset. It’s really bad, because I’m just so… the word isn’t depressed. I’m just disappointed in myself. I try so hard to get over it, and I can’t. There’s lots of different methods I try, and nothing works. I think it’s disgusting, and I’ve always been like this. Asmongold confirmed he’s planning another hiatus: “I spend a lot of time trying to be another person. It’s all so exhausting. That’s why I have to take a break.” If you are experiencing suicidal thoughts, or know anyone that is, and you would like to talk to someone, please reach out and call the Suicide Prevention Helpline 1-800-273-8255 (USA), the Samaritans 116-123 (UK), or Lifeline 13-11-14 (AUS).

Asmongold bashes people who believe in astrology: “F**king idiots” – Dexerto
Asmongold bashes people who believe in astrology: “F**king idiots” Twitch star Asmongold shared his take on people who believe in astrology, claiming they’re “f**king stupid.” Asmongold is one of the most popular and successful streamers on Twitch, amassing millions of followers across multiple channels on the Amazon-owned platform. However, the Twitch star certainly isn’t shy from frequently discussing his opinions on hot topics on stream, previously comparing Martin Luther King Jr to controversial internet star Andrew Tate. Scrolling through his Reddit community at the beginning of his May 20 live stream, Asmongold stumbled across a post from a fan sharing a meme poking fun at astrology. It was then that the Twitch star put astrology believers on blast — slamming them as “f**king idiots.” Asmongold calls astrology believers “f**king idiots” “Look, anybody who believes in astrology is a f**king idiot,” he said in an on-stream rant. “I mean like is there anybody who actually doesn’t think that? I mean, come on it’s f**king stupid. I mean, really, it’s an instant red flag.” He added: “I’ve never met somebody that believes in astrology seriously and makes logical decisions or makes good decisions about anything in their life you know?” It isn’t the only contentious opinion that the streamer has shared recently. Earlier in May, the 33-year-old shared the “uncomfortable, sh**ty truth” when it comes to streaming on Twitch, claiming creators won’t get viewers if they’re “fat or ugly.” Asmongold doubled down on his opinion while responding to the backlash, arguing his point by showing the critics that lashed out at his appearance. One thing is for certain, Asmongold has a clear hard stance against astrology, although it seems he may dislike NFTs promoters more.

Asmongold baited into giving game ‘free’ promotion with cheeky trick [UPDATED] – Dexerto
Asmongold baited into giving game ‘free’ promotion with cheeky trick [UPDATED] Update: Battlestate games has reached out to Dexerto to clarify that they had no involvement with the clip being shown on Asmongold’s stream. It appears a random user impersonated the developers of Escape from Tarkov. Team Lead Nikita Buyanov states “it was not me or anybody in the company.” Completely ignoring traditional means of marketing, the Escape from Tarkov developers managed to still show off their new trailer when they baited Twitch star Asmongold into promoting their title for ‘free’. Video game developers often pay large sums of money to the most popular content creators in order to promote their upcoming video games to the masses, but developers of the realistic first-person survival RPG Escape from Tarkov took a slightly different approach. Primarily known for his World of Warcraft broadcasts, Asmongold has a following of over 1.2 million on Twitch and stands among the top of the pack in the MMO space, and the Escape from Tarkov devs took full advantage of the WoW Classic star’s audience reach in the cheekiest way. In one of Asmon’s media-share streams on October 24, where viewers were able to donate in order to have the popular streamer watch and react to certain videos, the sneaky developers threw a recent trailer from their game into the mix. At first, the plan seemed to work perfectly, as the WoW streamer seemed interested in trying out FPS game, before one of his friends flagged the cheeky trick. “One of these days I might try it out,” Asmongold expressed before being made aware of the fact that the developers themselves had cheated the system and affordably promoted their game. “Wait it’s a dev dono, it’s from the devs,” a member of his voice chat finally discovered. “Wait what, guys come on,” the streamer responded, seemingly a little upset he’d been fooled in the middle of his stream. “You got a huge ad in front of almost 50,000 people for like 40 bucks,” Asmon said. He didn’t seem mad for too long though, and admitted he would still try the game “if it’s good.” When certain content creators are being paid tens of thousands per hour to promote upcoming releases, it’s no surprise that Asmongold had such a negative reaction at first. As the developers had cleverly exploited the media-share stream and saved themselves a considerable fee in marketing their title to an MMO-savvy audience.

Asmongold backtracks after Martin Luther King Jr and Andrew Tate comments: “I was wrong” – Dexerto
Asmongold backtracks after Martin Luther King Jr and Andrew Tate comments: “I was wrong” Twitch: zackrawrrTwitch streamer Asmongold has backtracked after his comparison of Martin Luther King Jr to Andrew Tate received widespread criticism. The detainment of Andrew Tate has taken headlines for the last couple of days. The controversial commentator was arrested in a raid in Romania on December 29 as part of a human trafficking and rape investigation. Naturally, reactions flooded in. KSI mocked Tate for “snitching” on himself, while Greta Thunberg also jabbed at Tate for his video responding to her Twitter burn. Asmongold was also among those who reacted, but was widely criticized for his response. Specifically, he suggested government involvement in the arrest of Tate, before saying it could be like “they tried to f**k with Martin Luther King”. Now, the streaming giant has backtracked on his comments, admitting they were “stupid” and “wrong”. Asmongold concedes Andrew Tate and MLK Jr comparison was “stupid” Speaking in a December 30 stream on his second channel ‘zackrawrr’, Asmon accepted the comparison was both “stupid” and “wrong”. “There were a lot of people who were not happy that I compared the Andrew Tate thing,” he said. “I used an example of the government framing somebody as Martin Luther King. And I used that example and said the chances of the government framing him was like 50%. Both of these two things were stupid to say and they’re not true.” He accepted that “everybody said it was f**king stupid” and that he now agrees. “I f**king hate having to go on and say that I was wrong,” he continued. “I f**king hate it. I almost never do it, I will find little ways how I wasn’t wrong and how it was different. But I was f**king stupid. I shouldn’t have said it. That’s all there is to it.” Viewers of Asmon largely welcomed his concession, especially in light of him admitting how much he “hates” to be wrong.

Asmongold backs up Grace Van Dien amid FaZe Rain backlash – Dexerto
Asmongold backs up Grace Van Dien amid FaZe Rain backlash YouTube: FaZe Rain, Asmongold / FaZe ClanPopular Twitch streamer Asmongold is openly supporting Stranger Things star Grace Van Dien after her joining with FaZe Clan sparked backlash among the group’s OG members. Grace Van Dien is best known for her role as Chrissy Cunningham in Stranger Things Season 4 — but she’s branching out from her career as an actress to become a top-tier streamer, instead. After revealing that she was sexually harassed by a producer for a movie project, she made the decision to focus on streaming and later signed with gaming and entertainment organization FaZe Clan on May 25, 2023 as a content creator. Grace’s inclusion in the group instantly sparked backlash from other members of FaZe’s team, particularly longtime member and co-founder FaZe Rain. Rain actually spoiled Grace’s addition to the org on Twitter before the news went public, and later called her inclusion a “political move.” Rain also put Grace on blast for not knowing what “trickshotting” is, something FaZe was known for before it became the massive esports group it is today. He then levied several personal insults toward the actress, saying she made Stranger Things her “entire personality” and called her “excruciatingly mid, who I would never let touch me on my drunkest night.” (Topic begins at 7:58) Hitting back at Rain’s comments, Grace made mention of his previous drug addiction in a now-deleted Twitch stream addressing the drama. “I know that’s what you’re kinda known for, but I know you, Rain, as the person who almost overdosed on a live stream, and I know that you’re better now and I’m really proud of you for that. I am, because I grew up with a mom who was heavily into drugs.” Grace’s particular mention of this difficult facet of Rain’s life sparked outrage among FaZe’s fanbase, causing her to come under fire online. Asmongold sticks up for Grace Van Dien after FaZe Rain hurls insults toward actress While many are critical of her comments on the subject, Twitch streamer and World of Warcraft star Asmongold is showing his support for the actress and is backing up her response. “So, this is my perspective on this,” he said after watching Grace’s response during a live broadcast amid the ongoing drama. “I believe in self-defense. And if he wants to call her ‘mid,’ and then she makes fun of him for almost overdosing on a stream, I think that’s totally fine.” “He shouldn’t have said that and made it personal. I’ll take the high road. I’ll stay on the high road, it’s no problem. But if you take the low road, I’ll meet you there.” Asmon isn’t the only major streamer siding with Grace, either, as Disguised Toast also openly supported the actress in a stream where he made no bones about calling out the group’s OG members for taking issue with Grace becoming part of the team.

Asmongold backflips on claims he’d quit Twitch: “I don’t know if I’ll ever completely stop” – Dexerto
Asmongold backflips on claims he’d quit Twitch: “I don’t know if I’ll ever completely stop” Twitch: AsmongoldAsmongold backflipped on claims he’d quit Twitch, insisting he doesn’t know if he’ll ever completely stop and believes he will always be involved in content creation to some degree. On April 19, Asmon talked about the breaks he’d taken from streaming in the past few years and admitted the next could be his last. “If I have to take a break again, I will probably quit forever. That is my plan,” he said. However, he never said it was set in stone, and now he’s backflipped on that idea, admitting he can’t ever see himself not making content in some capacity, even if it’s through other means rather than streaming on Twitch. “I don’t know if I’ll ever completely stop,” he said. “I don’t like writing blank cheques. I don’t like saying I’m going to stream forever. I don’t like saying I’m never going to stream again. I have no idea. I’ll decide at the time. “Do I ever see myself not making content? Not really. “Let’s say I make videos for the rest of my time, or OTK keeps growing, and I take a larger role in running the company. I’d probably do that more and not have as much time to stream.” Asmon thinks something like that could be in the realm of possibility because content creation is in his blood. “This is something that I’ve always done, and I think in one way or another it’s always going to happen.” Asmon tends to narrate his thoughts on stream. So, although it can sometimes seem like he’s saying something definitive like quitting a game or quitting streaming forever, he’s more so just bouncing ideas around instead. However, if he ever does decide to stop streaming for good, his fans can rest easy knowing that he’ll still be involved in content creation to some degree. Plus, there’s always a chance he could change his mind and come back.

Asmongold announces indefinite break from streaming on Twitch – Dexerto
Asmongold announces indefinite break from streaming on Twitch AsmongoldPopular World of Warcraft streamer Asmongold announced he would be taking a break from Twitch indefinitely, and although he didn’t specifically mention why, he explained there are many reasons, which has some fans worried. Asmongold has been a powerhouse on Twitch for quite some time. He’s arguably the most popular and dedicated World of Warcraft streamer on the platform. However, he does dabble in other games and activities from time to time. He’s also known for being very opinionated and often chimes in on various issues within the scene. But his views and insights are always valuable, and he won’t hesitate to tell it like it is. Unfortunately, his demanding streaming schedule has taken a toll on him over the years. It even played a part in his decision to take an extended break in the past. Now, it seems like he’s doing it once again, and this time, it’s indefinite. “Going to be taking a break from streaming indefinitely,” he said on January 10. “I’ve gone back and forth about this for the past few weeks, which is why I’ve missed so many days. A lot of different reasons why. Too much to list out in a tweet.” Asmongold has missed many streams over the past few weeks. Though nobody thought anything of it. Most of his fans assumed he was a little burnt out. It seems like that might still be the case, but it could also be so much more. Going to be taking a break from streaming indefinitely I’ve gone back and fourth about this for the past few weeks which is why I’ve missed so many days A lot of different reasons why, too much to list out in a tweet — Zack (@Asmongold) January 11, 2021 Shortly after this tweet was posted, a lot of his fans were concerned he may be quitting streaming for good. As a result, Asmongold took to Twitter to clarify that this was not the case: “Since a lot of people are misinterpreting… Not quitting, just taking a break.” Although it’s not set in stone, he did state that he’d be gone for “probably a month or so.” Since a lot of ppl are misinterpreting (could be my fault idk) I wanted to clear a couple things up -Not quitting, just taking a break. I’m just not sure how long, probably a month or so -It’s not because of chat/Rust lol, obv chat tilts me sometimes though https://t.co/0TT3LkjoE5 — Zack (@Asmongold) January 11, 2021 Either way, his fans have poured in to show their support. Some are hopeful that he will explain the situation in more detail. However, most understand he doesn’t owe them an explanation and they want him to take all the time he needs. It’s probably not the start to the year that Asmongold’s fans expected, but it seems like a necessary one. A long break could do wonders. There’s no doubt he’ll bounce back and be fresher than ever when he’s ready, whenever he does decide to make his return.

Asmongold and Sneako clash over MrBeast’s support of Chris Tyson – Dexerto
Asmongold and Sneako clash over MrBeast’s support of Chris Tyson Twitch streamer Asmongold got into a heated exchange with Sneako on Twitter after the streamers disagreed over how online communities were reacting to Chris Tyson’s HRT announcement. In a tweet, Asmongold stated that he thought it was “exhausting” to see people online discuss the personal lives of content creators, responding to a YouTube video from SunnyV2 that speculated that Chris could become a liability for MrBeast’s content. He said: “How is it that people have nothing better to do than micromanage and mald about the lifestyles of content creators?” “It’s exhausting how opinionated internet users are about the personal lives of people they’ll never meet. Holy f*ck.” Sneako and Asmongold clash over Chris Tyson However, content creator Sneako replied to the tweet, claiming that Asmongold was a hypocrite because he wasn’t as annoyed when Sneako was the subject of internet controversy, during his conflict with MoistCr1tikal. “When it’s SNEAKO everybody farms clout digging into my past. When it’s a trans you cry.” Asmongold hit back with “When Chris pulls out a gun and threatens you because of this tweet, let me know.” He also asserted that it wasn’t a double standard because he defended Sneako when his personal life was under the microscope, in the same way he was doing for Chris. “I literally defended you on the cuck shit because it’s your own personal choice, just like this is for Chris. It’s not a double standard. “I try to stay away from shitting on people for personal reasons unless they hurt others. The only ideology I’m defending here is individualism, to be who you want to be.” But Sneako wasn’t convinced, saying the exchange was a “great example of how wokeness is the constant need to be the victim.” Asmongold then replied: “Wouldn’t that mean that you’re woke considering you came into my tweet about another person and made yourself into the victim?” Sneako ended the exchange by telling Asmongold to “re-read your original tweet.” Sneako has previously said he wants Chris to stop his HRT, saying “this is not the right path” for a role model to take. Chris Tyson has received lots of support from content creators across different platforms. Twitch streamer F1NN5TER defended him from haters on TikTok, while MrBeast has repeatedly voiced his support for his friend on Twitter. Asmongold agrees to one-off VTuber stream after Ironmouse spurs him on – Dexerto
Asmongold agrees to one-off VTuber stream after Ironmouse spurs him on Twitch: Ironmouse / AsmongoldAsmongold admitted he’d be open to doing a one-off VTuber stream after Ironmouse spurred him on and revealed that his avatar would be inspired by Oscar the Grouch from Sesame Street. Asmon has developed a reputation for not being fond of the VTubing community, perhaps due to some of his more recent comments. However, he insisted the reputation isn’t quite accurate and has even spoken positively about some aspects the Vtuber community. “People got this idea that I hate VTubing. I don’t know where people got this idea,” said Asmon. “I do not hate VTubing. I think that it’s funny, I think that it’s clever, and I think that it’s a hack for female streamers.” He proved that by doing a crossover stream with Ironmouse, one of the most popular VTubers on Twitch, and at one point in their conversation, admitted he’d consider being a VTuber for a day after she spurred him on. “I think you should become a VTuber for one day,” said Ironmouse, cutting right to the chase during their joint stream. To her surprise, he admitted he would. “I would use a VTuber avatar. Sure. Yeah, that would be okay,” he said. He doubled down on it, too. “Like, actually no memes. No bullsh*t. Whatever. I would do it for a day. Why not?” As for what his VTuber persona and avatar would be, he said it’d be something akin to a muppet. “You know the guy in Sesame Street that lives in the garbage can? Oscar the Grouch? I think I’d use that as inspiration.” The relevant part of the video begins at 13:30. Later in the conversation, Asmon asked Ironmouse if she thinks male VTubers can be successful since the most popular ones seem to be female. She assured him it could happen and even offered some advice. “Yeah,” she said. “Especially now. I feel like male VTubers are the hot thing right now. You could totally be a sexy YouTuber demon guy or a sexy cat boy. Perhaps he’ll take her advice. After all, it’s not the first time she’s converted a streamer for a day.

Asmongold admits he was wrong over OTK “oxy” drama after xQc calls him out – Dexerto
Asmongold admits he was wrong over OTK “oxy” drama after xQc calls him out xQc/OTK/AsmongoldTwitch star Asmongold admitted to being a “d**k” when he responded to a clip of xQc calling him out over the recent drama surrounding OTK. Streamer collective One True King hosted a ‘Friendsgiving’ on November 21 to play games and live-stream all the fun. Drama arose when attendee and streamer Minx was offered alcohol by fellow creator Malena. OTK member Esfand jumped in to intercept the alcohol and claimed Minx “can’t drink” as he thought Minx was also under the influence of Oxycodone, a painkiller. Minx claimed being on the painkiller was “a bit”, and that she wasn’t under the influence. This wasn’t clear at the time, leading to Esfand’s strong reaction. After the incident, Asmongold chimed in to say that “everyone was in the wrong” in the situation, and now, xQc has now openly criticized Asmongold’s take on the drama. Asmongold admits he was a “d**k” over OTK drama xQc was watching a YouTube video where Asmongold made comments about gambling streams when Asmon said, “I think gambling streams are bad, everybody knows it.” After Asmon’s opinion on gambling streams played xQc replied, “Yeah, but let me throw it at Asmongold. But, he’s my friend though, and, he’s not my dad. I can do what I want, right? If you’re somebody’s friend, who are you to tell them what to do and what not to do, right?” The former Overwatch pro’s comments were in reference to Asmongold’s original take on the Esfand & Minx situation. Now, Asmon has responded admitted he was in the wrong. While streaming on his secondary channel, zachrawrr, he said: “Remember whenever a couple of days ago, the thing with Esfand and the alcohol. I went and said I was mad at Esfand for it and everything. I went back and I thought about it. It’s just stupid to say. I feel like I get in these really weird headspaces, and I try to make sure that I don’t feel that way whenever I go live, and it’s really hard for me to stop that feeling.” He finished his thoughts and noted: “I saw the xQc clip about it today. I watched the clip and I’ve been pretty critical of his gambling streams and everything, and he’s calling me out, and he’s right. I was just being a d**k.” It’s clear that xQc’s public comments about Asmongold have made the streamer change his mind, as he accepted his wrongdoing. Asmongold recently said he wanted to be “less of an a**hole“, and this could be the start of that journey.

Asmongold addresses speculation about him moving to Kick after xQc’s mega-money deal – Dexerto
Asmongold addresses speculation about him moving to Kick after xQc’s mega-money deal AsmongoldTwitch star Asmongold has claimed he won’t take an exclusive streaming deal with another platform amid massive Kick signings. Ever since Ninja paved the way by signing the first-of-its-kind exclusive streaming deal with Mixer, the streaming world has changed a lot over the past couple of years. Many of the top streamers have signed deals with platforms such as YouTube, Twitch, and more recently, Kick — who are offering multi-million dollar deals to creators. Several prominent names have already made the jump to the new Stake-backed platform, and many more are eyeing up a switch too. Although, while his peers such as xQc are signing deals worth upwards of $100 million, Asmongold has assured his fans he won’t be locked down with a single platform if he moves on from Twitch. Asmongold says he won’t take exclusive streaming deal During the beginning of his June 16 live stream, the Twitch star addressed speculation about him moving to Kick following xQc’s shocking deal, signing a non-exclusive contract that is worth $70 million, but could push the total to upwards of $100 million with incentives. “I’ve been a very busy dude today,” he opened his June 16 broadcast. “I had a lot of things I needed to do, conversations that needed to be had, things that needed to be talked about.” A viewer then asked Asmon intends on moving to a different platform, to which he responded by promising fans he won’t be signing any exclusive deal. “Well, a lot of people ask me if I’m going to go to another platform. People ask this all of the time. I mean I don’t know, we’ll have to see what happens. “What really matters to me, I’ll give you guys two promises, is that I will consistently continue to stream, and I will not take an exclusive deal on another platform.” He added: “I don’t think that’s the right option for me at this moment. So yeah.” It’s clear that Kick has an interest in the Twitch star, who’s been streaming on the Amazon-owned platform for over a decade. Earlier this year, platform co-owner Trainwrecks promised the Twitch veteran “a deal he deserves” if Twitch doesn’t. While it’s unclear who’ll be next to join Kick, the platform anticipates more exponential growth in the coming weeks after amassing over a million new users in 24 hours following xQc’s move.

Asmongold addresses charity stream “scam” accusations: “I don’t have to say anything” – Dexerto
Asmongold addresses charity stream “scam” accusations: “I don’t have to say anything” YouTube: Asmongold ClipsOTK co-founder Asmongold has addressed charity stream “scam” accusations on stream but made it clear that he’s not going to directly talk about it. Back in December 2023, Investigative reporters Jacob Wolf and Hunter Cooke claimed that millions in charity donations made to campaigns organized by the company Softgiving never actually made it to the charity. The company organized streams with some of the internet’s biggest influencers, including Asmongold and Mizkif of OTK. During a recent broadcast, Asmongold was asked about the situation by a viewer, causing him to finally address it… but says he doesn’t have to say anything. Asmongold addresses Softgiving charity stream controversy On January 5, 2023, Jacob Wolf shared a clip of Asmongold’s stream where he was asked about the ongoing situation with the company Brandfluence which was formerly known as Softgiving. In the clip, Asmongold asked: “who gives a sh*t.” “Somebody makes an allegation against me and suddenly I have to respond to it? No! I don’t have to say anything… who gives a f*ck?” he said. “What am I gonna do? Am I gonna sit here and try to defend myself and explain it to people? No. There’s no reason to.” “What do you think I’m gonna do?” Asmongold added: “I don’t go out of my way to shut any of this stuff down because any reasonable person that looks into it will see the truth of it. That’s the reason why.” In a reply to a follower, Jacob made it clear that they haven’t accused him of any wrongdoing. He said: “all I’m curious to know is what he and OTK knew or didn’t know prior to our article.” For more news and other viral stories, keep it locked to Dexerto.

Asmongold accuses YouTube of creating “misleading narratives” by removing dislikes – Dexerto
Asmongold accuses YouTube of creating “misleading narratives” by removing dislikes Twitch/AsmongoldTwitch streamer Asmongold gave a big thumbs down to YouTube over the decision to no longer display dislikes on the platform, accusing the site of censoring opposition to corporate and government “propaganda.” On November 10, YouTube announced it would no longer display dislikes on videos and instead only showcase the amount of likes that videos receive. The site claimed that it was making this change to protect against “dislike attacks,” where viewers would mass-dislike videos as a way to harass content creators. However, considering YouTube already lets users disable likes, dislikes and comments on their videos, this decision was slammed by many, including Twitch streamer Asmongold. YouTube removing dislikes not only censors dissent from corporate propaganda and brand agendas It also protects predators and abusers from accountability to their audience, making new victims easier to find In the effort to make users “”safe”” YouTube has done the opposite — Zack (@Asmongold) November 11, 2021 Asmongold blasts YouTube for dislike count change The World of Warcraft streamer is no stranger to speaking out on hot-button issues, and YouTube’s dislike count was no different. In a series of posts, he blasted the Google-owned platform for a change that he feels is promoting censorship and making the site less safe. “YouTube removing dislikes not only censors dissent from corporate propaganda and brand agendas,” he said. “It also protects predators and abusers from accountability to their audience, making new victims easier to find.” He also pointed out that by removing only dislikes, narratives can be spun where content that would normally result in backlash would now look positively received. I see what you mean but I disagree Removing Likes AND Dislikes from a video is removing feedback entirely Removing ONLY Dislikes allows you to craft a positive and potentially misleading narrative regardless of the audience’s reaction — Zack (@Asmongold) November 11, 2021 “Removing Likes AND Dislikes from a video is removing feedback entirely,” he noted. “Removing ONLY Dislikes allows you to craft a positive and potentially misleading narrative regardless of the audience’s reaction.” Asmongold says YouTube is censoring legitimate criticism In his Twitch stream, Asmongold touched on the issue more, reiterating that YouTube was becoming more friendly towards “corporate propaganda.” “It makes it more friendly towards corporations pushing propaganda and not being able to be criticized for it by the audience,” he explained. “It just makes the website more friendly towards corporate propaganda and government propaganda too.” Asmongold isn’t the first big name in the streaming space to speak out against the decision. Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel warned the site they were making a big mistake by implementing this change, while YouTube megastar PewDiePie thinks the system is fine as is. The latter even cited his own experience looking up tutorial videos and knowing to avoid ones with a high dislike count, something Asmongold also touched upon. Bro idk how many times I’ve looked at a tech help video with 2 likes 38 dislikes and saved myself 15 minutes — Zack (@Asmongold) November 11, 2021 “I don’t know how many times I’ve looked at a tech help video with 2 likes 38 dislikes and saved myself 15 minutes,” he remarked. While it’s unlikely that YouTube backs down, in an interesting twist, the video the site uploaded announcing the removal of public dislikes has four times more downvotes than upvotes. Go figure.

Asmongold accepts huge FFXIV Online challenge with 10,000 gifted sub bet – Dexerto
Asmongold accepts huge FFXIV Online challenge with 10,000 gifted sub bet Twitch: Asmongold, Square EnixTwitch streamer Asmongold doesn’t shy away from a good bet, and he’s offered to gift 10,000 subs to fellow streamer Zepla if he completes this insane FFXIV Online challenge. As Asmongold continues to dive deeper into the wonders that Ezorea has to offer, he’s done everything from shatter Twitch viewership expectations, to losing against FFXIV’s terrifying mechanic hydra, Kalyia, with only 0.1% of its HP left. Continuing to document his journey online, Twitch viewers are chiming in with their opinion of his playstyle, constantly challenging the MMO legend to try out new, insane things. One such challenger is fellow streamer Zepla, who claimed that Asmon wouldn’t be able to complete this incredibly difficult FFXIV challenge. As you can imagine, he wasn’t having any of it. Asmongold accepts FFXIV challenge on Twitch Zepla dropped a clip on-stream that has riled up not just the self-professed professional neckbeard, but his community. While scrolling through his subreddit, Asmon stops on her video, only to find himself facing the challenge of a lifetime. “I’ll say it,” she begins, going on to confess that “I am so convinced that Asmongold cannot clear The Epic of Alexander Ultimate before Endwalker, and if he actually does it I’ll go Lalafell for a week.” Lalafell are some of the least popular races in the game, hence playing as the character would be a nightmare for a lot of fans. With Endwalker set to debut on 23 December, Asmongold appears to have quite a bit of time on his hands. However, he ups the stakes even more by placing a bet against himself. “If by the release of Endwalker I do not have a single Ultimate cleared I will gift 10,000 subs,” he states, concluding the segment with a determined “I can do this.” Ultimate tier raids are the highest raid tier in FFXIV, with them being described as for “the best of the best.” Also, the steel menace that we mentioned earlier that sent Asmon into an explosive rage happens to be a boss in one of the game’s three Ultimate raids, and we all saw what happened there. Can he do it? He’s certainly confident, but we’ll have to see if he can put his money (literally) where his mouth is.

Asmongold abruptedly ends stream amid Rich Campbell sexual assault allegations Asmongold |Twitch/Rich Campbell | TwitterFollowing the sexual assault allegations made against Rich Campbell, OTK streamer Asmongold addressed the issue at length on stream and abruptly ended the broadcast after appearing to be overwhelmed by the situation. OTK has been steeped in controversy for months, with the most recent event being allegations against Rich Campbell for sexual assault that have resulted in him resigning from OTK. Asmongold was streaming as the allegations came to light, prompting him to address the issue on stream and try to move on with the broadcast. Asmongold would go on to address the situation at length the next day, giving an in-depth series of statements as to how the situation is being handled. Later in the broadcast, he suddenly ended his stream after appearing to be overwhelmed by the whole situation. Asmongold ends stream after Rich Campbell controversy During Asmongold’s stream, allegations about OTK member Rich Campbell were spreading across Twitter, prompting quick action from the organization. Being one of OTK’s founders, Asmongold felt the need to address the issue with a quick statement on-stream. “Ok… This is like super f***ing awkward to do right this minute when I’m playing a new game. Yes, we saw the stuff about Rich. Yes, we’re addressing it. That’s all I’m going to say.” Asmon addressed the situation at the outset of his next stream, deciding to speak about the situation before he got too far into the Twitch broadcast. He had this to say about Rich Campbell: “I saw a lot of people that were saying that it wasn’t true, that she’s making everything up. Please do not do that. You’re not our fan, you’re not on our side. We’re on their side. That’s why Rich is gone.” He continued by making it clear that clear that slander toward those who may have been affected by Campbell’s alleged actions would not be tolerated in his stream. “If you go and you are messaging these girls, trying to cast dispersions, cast a shadow of doubt and make them feel bad for coming forward with what their story is, you are not our fan. You are not my fan. You are not doing us any favors, you’re not on our team. You’re not helping us. You’re not helping anyone.” Asmongold was able to stream for a few hours after that, but he couldn’t keep the stream up as long as he would have liked. After saying that he was done and that he “couldn’t think clearly”, he decided to end the stream. He had the full support of his chat through this, with tons of hearts getting spammed as he announced and followed through with the abrupt end of the broadcast.

Asian TikToker opens up after hit by racist barrage on social media – Dexerto
Asian TikToker opens up after hit by racist barrage on social media YouTube: Wanton ProductionsAsian TikToker ‘Seantanwonton’ shared an experience he had with a young man hurling racial slurs at him on Omegle, claiming it’s not uncommon and left him feeling “pissed, angry and annoyed.” Seantanwanton, who has almost 100,000 followers on TikTok, is known for posting funny videos. However, a recent one he uploaded was anything but that. It detailed a disgusting brush with racism he experienced on Omegle. In the video, a young man and his friend start chanting “chink” and “zipperhead” before asking Sean whether he speaks English. After he confirmed that he does, they asked him if he knew what a “zipperhead” was and explained one of its very gruesome origins. Sean, who was taken aback at how enthusiastic the young man seemed when describing the horrific violence, asked him whether he enjoyed it. However, the young man ignored the question and instead asked him if he knew what a “chink” and a “fishhead” were before likening them to the n-word. At that point, Sean heard enough and exited the conversation, telling his fans that “someone needs to get canceled”. After gaining traction on social media, he told Newsweek that the situation left him feeling “pissed, angry and annoyed.” “The times I’ve been on Omegle, I would always experience such things every time I am on the TikTok server,” he said. “I hope the video teaches others to be respectful to different people from different countries.” Sean received an overwhelming amount of support on social media, with many users rallying under the #StopAsianHate hashtag on Twitter. The identity of the young man and his friend in the video remains unknown. However, his face won’t be forgotten, and his actions could come back to haunt him in the future — even if it doesn’t get him canceled.

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis apologize for character letters amid Danny Masterson sentencing – Dexerto
Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis apologize for character letters amid Danny Masterson sentencing Instagram: apluskAshton Kutcher and Mila Kunis have released an apology after receiving backlash for writing character letters on behalf of their That ’70s Show co-star, Danny Masterson. That 70’s Show actor Danny Masterson has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after being convicted earlier this year of raping two women. Masterson was first accused in 2017 and has remained adamant that the encounters were consensual, his defense lawyers planning to appeal the convictions. Nonetheless, a judge told Masterson that “One way or another you will have to come to terms with your prior actions and their consequences.” With the disgraced actor behind bars, two of his old costars have been feeling the heat after their character letters in support of Masterson were made public. Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis have now both issued an apology for their letters, taking to Instagram to address the situation. The pair posted a video together, Kutcher starting the apology by saying, “We are aware of the pain that has been caused by the character letters we wrote on behalf of Danny Masterson.” “We support victims. We have done this historically through our work and will continue to do so in the future,” Kunis added. Kutcher then explained that the Masterson family had reached out to the couple and asked them to write letters representing the person that they “knew for 25 years.” “They were intended for the judge to read and not to undermine the testimony of the victims or re-traumatize them in any way,” Kutcher said. “We would never want to do that. And we’re sorry if that has taken place.” However, their apology video has not been well received as unimpressed viewers flocked to Twitter to share their outrage. “It’s giving scripted. It’s giving rehearsed. It’s giving ‘oh shit, we were caught!’” one person wrote, with another stating, “They aren’t really apologizing for defending him, they’re just sorry it came out and lead to a backlash.” It certainly doesn’t look like these two will be in the clear anytime soon. “Ashamed” TikToker claims Austin McBroom cheated with her in secret Malibu home – Dexerto
“Ashamed” TikToker claims Austin McBroom cheated with her in secret Malibu home Instagram: Austin McBroom/TikTok: Monica BushFollowing on from allegations made by Tana Mongeau, TikToker Moncia Bush has doubled down on recent rumors that Austin McBroom has cheated on his wife, Catherine, in a series of TikToks. She claims that he got in touch under the guise of giving her samples from his clothing brand for her to promote via Instagram, before texting her and asking her if she was going to be in LA so that he could give her package. “I’m not sure why he thought it was necessary to text me afterwards,” Monica admitted, who goes by the handle ‘MoniManey’. When she arrived to LA, she claims he kept pushing the plan to meet her until it got later and later before picking her up in his blue Range Rover and driving her to a house in Malibu. She said that she was “naïve” and thought the two were “just talking business” and about other potential brand deals before he turned on Netflix and the two started watching Netflix on the couch. She said he then put a blanket over him and invited her to lay with him. Bush claims she rejected him and said she was just trying to do business, to which Austin responded: “This is doing business.” The following night, Monica alleges that that the same thing happened again, with Austin encouraging her to take an Uber to the same house. She says he also claimed that him and his wife weren’t actually together and were only together for publicity. At this point, Bush claimed the two slept together and that afterwards, Austin paid her $800 in advance for brand deals. She says that following this encounter, she kept hearing stories from other people that “this is what he [Austin] does with girls.” Moncia also said McBroom continues to try and speak to her to this day. In the series of TikToks, she showed iMessage screenshots as well as a Snapchat account which she claims belongs to Austin. These allegations come after YouTuber Tana Mongeau also accused McBroom of infidelity. In a series of TikToks and Tweets released on 12 June, she claimed: “One time, Austin McBroom was cheating on Catherine, and the girl he was cheating on her with left her lipstick in his car. We get a call, and we answered it, and it’s Austin bawling his eyes out and Catherine absolutely screaming while holding this lipstick inside of the car. “She’s screaming, and she’s like, ‘is the lipstick Tana’s?” she continued. “Austin says the lipstick is Tana’s.’ Austin’s bawling. My dumb a** thinks that the right thing to do at the time is saving the kids. So, I lied to Catherine. I’m like, this is my lipstick.” Read More: Tanner Fox claims Tayler Holder & Gib hid huge weight difference that nearly stopped their fight – She also alleged that Austin hired four of her friends as “nannies” in order to sleep with them. McBroom vehemently denied the claims on Twitter, calling Tana “the biggest clout chaser of all time” before going on to beat TikTok star Bryce Hall in Battle of the Platforms. Siska Leontyne will graduate on June 15 and then Amicia Michella’s graduation will follow on July 16.

Artists put music back on Spotify after Joe Rogan protest lasts five months – Dexerto
Artists put music back on Spotify after Joe Rogan protest lasts five months Crosby, Stills & Nash, Joe Rogan ExperienceFolk-rock trio Crosby, Stills & Nash have rejoined Spotify after ex-bandmate Neil Young protested against the platform. Back in February, folk singer-songwriter Neil Young made a pretty big move in having his discography removed from Spotify. The move came after Young protested for the Sweden-based platform to remove the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, claiming it would “stop supporting Spotify’s deadly misinformation.” Now, Crosby, Stills & Nash have returned to the platform despite their former bandmates’ stance. Neil Young’s ex-bandmates return to Spotify amid Rogan controversy Crosby, Stills & Nash have ended their five-month protest against Spotify, restoring their back catalog to the platform. This comes after the band previously stated in February “we support Neil [Young] and we agree with him that there is dangerous disinformation being aired on Spotify’s Joe Rogan podcast. “Until real action is taken to show that a concern for humanity must be balanced with commerce, we don’t want our music — or the music we made together — to be on the same platform.” While the band has yet to comment on their decision to re-partner with Spotify, Joe Rogan himself addressed the controversy prior to Young’s withdrawal from Spotify. All folks looking for my music can easily head to AMAZON MUSIC and click here https://t.co/xvhKGMkA36 – all new listeners will get four months free. pic.twitter.com/a66GaGUKEk — Neil Young Archives (@NeilYoungNYA) January 28, 2022 Speaking on his Instagram account, Rogan said: “I’m not trying to be controversial. I’ve never tried to do anything with this podcast other than just talk to people and have interesting conversations.” The podcaster added that he will try to “balance out these more controversial viewpoints with other people’s perspectives, so we can maybe find a better point of view.” Neil Young has remained silent since moving his discography to Amazon Music, making it unlikely he will return to Spotify soon.

Artists claim Twitch is ignoring creative streamers by hiding category – Dexerto
Artists claim Twitch is ignoring creative streamers by hiding category TwitchTwitch started rolling out a discoverability experiment on their platform that merges art and creative streams into the IRL category, and it hasn’t sat well with streamers, who feel like it makes it even harder for viewers to find them. Twitch is always looking to innovate and streamline its platform in an attempt to make the site a better experience for streamers and viewers alike. However, they don’t always get it right. They recently came under fire for introducing ‘intrusive’ mid-stream ads and dishing out a relentless series of DMCA takedowns, which they’ve since apologized for and explained. Unfortunately, it seems like they’ve done it again. This time, they’ve tried to streamline their categories and directories, inadvertently ignoring artists and creative streamers in the process. “We’re rolling out a discoverability experiment to a portion of users,” they said. “This experiment will provide a new way to browse Twitch, and make it easier to find content you’ll love!” The new directories include Games, Music, IRL, and Esports. 📢 We’re rolling out a discoverability experiment to a portion of users! The update shoehorns artistic and creative streamers into the IRL category, which many believe will make it harder for viewers to find them. It didn’t take long for streamers to start voicing their concerns. Ross O’Donovan is an animator, artist, voice actor, and streamer with more than 250,000 followers on Twitch. He was one of the first to express his dissatisfaction. “Hey Twitch. Your decision to gradually dismantle creative as a category over time isn’t going unnoticed,” he said. “Merging it with IRL is not fair on the artists who already have a hard time with discoverability,” he added. “These are the artists who make the very emotes that sell your subscriptions.” Hey Twitch. Artists are fed up with fans throwing objects on stage: Adele, Billie Eilish & more speak out – Dexerto
Artists are fed up with fans throwing objects on stage: Adele, Billie Eilish & more speak out Artists like Bebe Rexha had to get eye stitches after being struck while on stage with an object. Fans and performers are now reacting to the viral trend, hoping that concerts won’t be canceled. Although Live Nation ticket sales reached a staggering $6.28 billion by the end of 2022, concerts are looking a little different these days. As 2023 continues, concertgoers have gone viral for more than their star-struck behavior of singing along to songs and screaming a performer’s name. Lately, artists of all genres have been hit, literally, with a new trend of fans throwing items on stage — some, with the intent to actually strike performers like Billie Eilish, Bebe Rexha, and even Drake. Billie Eilish calls thrown objects on stage “infuriating” While summer is a popular time for concerts and music festivals to occur, performing artists are facing a new and somewhat dangerous obstacle while taking the stage. As of late, fans close to the stage have been throwing objects like shoes, bras, phones, and even adult toys at those performing. With this happenstance acting as a new trend among many concerts, both fans and artists have taken to social media to react to this behavior. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, singer Billie Eilish called the trend “absolutely infuriating.” On the other hand, Adele directly addressed her fans before beginning one of her residency shows in Las Vegas, saying, “Have you noticed how people are like forgetting f*cking show etiquette at the moment?” Adele continued, “People just throwing sh*t onstage, have you seen them? I f*cking dare you. Dare you to throw something at me, and I’ll f*cking kill you.” Although artists may think they have no ally regarding the trend of throwing items on stage at them, TikToker Mallory Thompson began making concert etiquette videos to take a stand not only for the artists, but also for the attendees who have spent their money to actually see the artist perform, as some have just walked off the stage after being struck. Another TikToker, Annabelle Raquel Knott, has also taken to the platform to explain why throwing items on stage is not okay, saying, “It seems like it’s getting out of control,” as she mentioned singer Bebe Rexha had to get stitches after being hit in the eye with an item. Other fans who just want to see their favorite artists perform continue to fear concerts going away altogether, saying, “It’s going to get to the point that they’ll either never have concerts again or create a net or something to protect the artist on stage.” There has not been a rule set into place yet for those who throw items and cause injury to the performing artist.

Artist terrified after gazing upon James Charles’ buns – Dexerto
Artist terrified after gazing upon James Charles’ buns Twitch: 39daph / Instagram: @jamescharlesArtist ‘39daph’ was streaming on Twitch on August 25 when decided to look at what she thought was YouTube star James Charles talking about the Amazon rainforest fires, but what she saw instead left her terrified. 39daph is an artist from Vancouver, Canada who takes art commissions online. She streams on Twitch during her drawings sessions, and also streams games with friends. During a recent broadcast on August 25, the streamer was talking to a friend in chat when he convinced her to look at the makeup mogul’s Twitter account, and what she found left her shocked. 39daph got baited The artist was about to play Terraria when her friend asked her to go full screen on her camera, and convinced her to look at James Charles’ Twitter account. “Just tell me when you see it. You’ll see it,” he said. “It says we need to put out the fuckin’ Amazon rainforest fires before we all fuckin die,” 39daph read, before being encouraged to keep looking by her friend. “Nah, just keep on looking,” he goaded her. Soon after being persuaded keep looking, the artist clicked and immediately let out an enormous scream, as a look of horror washed over her face. What frightened her so much? James Charles’ butt. She quickly clicked out of her full screen facecam, and said “I don’t want to see that” frantically going back to her game of Terraria. “I don’t want to see that. I don’t like that” she repeated, clearly shook by the image. Why did James Charles post a nude? James Charles’ social media account was hacked on August 24, and he lost verification status temporarily as a result. After getting back into his account, the YouTube star posted a tweet where he leaked his own nude to stop the infiltrator from potentially trying to blackmail him. “hi I got my account back 🙃 just case I ever get hacked again, here’s the ONLY nude I’ve ever taken! can’t threaten me with it now 🤠🖕🏼 get a life” he tweeted. hi I got my account back :upside_down_face: just case I ever get hacked again, here’s the ONLY nude I’ve ever taken! can’t threaten me with it now :face_with_cowboy_hat::reversed_hand_with_middle_finger_extended::skin-tone-3: get a life pic.twitter.com/8xT5lKFFDV — James Charles (@jamescharles) August 24, 2019 The makeup mogul’s account wasn’t the only one hacked that day – YouTube star Shane Dawson, and even the late Desmond ‘Etika’ Amofah had theirs compromised too, though it’s unclear all three attacks were related.

Artist reimagines Nadeshot, Banks, Alissa Violet and Logan Paul with tattoos – Dexerto
Artist reimagines Nadeshot, Banks, Alissa Violet and Logan Paul with tattoos Instagram: mrsaetherAn artist has taken some of YouTube and social media’s biggest stars and created what they would look like with tattoos. Known as mrsaether on Instagram, the artist has taken pictures uploaded by these popular stars, and added their own twist to them, covering them in body art. Tattoos have become a prominent part of popular culture, with rappers like Post Malone covering themselves in images and mantras for aesthetic reasons, and as a way of expressing themselves or their beliefs. The images created by mrsaether see some of YouTube’s most recognizable creators adorned with sleeve tattoos, chest pieces and even images on their faces, as seen on the image of 100 Thieves CEO Matt ‘Nadeshot’ Haag, who has a smiley face underneath his left eye, and some script above his right. Clout Gang member Allisa Violet got a similar makeover, with three tattoos on her face, while a large piece featuring skulls and playing cards covers her left shoulder and much of the left side of her chest. Another resident of the Clout House also got the tattoo treatment, with the artist giving Ricky ‘FaZe Banks’ Banks two full arm sleeves along with tattoos on his knees and neck, while Alexander ‘Adapt’ Pinkevich also got designs added to his arms. Finally, brothers Jake and Logan Paul both received body art thanks to mrsaether, with Jake sporting two full arm sleeves, while Logan’s chest and arms are covered in small pieces, including a Maverick logo tattoo on his right arm – although the tattoo Logan recently got in real life is missing. While all of these are just mock ups, 100 Thieves CEO Nadeshot seems to like the idea, posting the image on his Twitter account. Many thought the designs suited the former Call of Duty pro player, with Twitch star Timothy ‘Timthetatman’ Betar urging Haag to “do it.”

Artist merges My Hero Academia and Street Fighter V characters with incredible results – Dexerto
Artist merges My Hero Academia and Street Fighter V characters with incredible results Viz MediaWith the next season of popular anime My Hero Academia set to release in October 2019, fans are left with a fairly lengthy wait to see where the story goes, next – but one artist is taking matters into their own hands. New York-based artist ‘Kellzallday’ has created a stunning mesh between the young heroes of My Hero Academia and the classic characters of the Street Fighter franchise, drawing each hero in the iconic attire of Street Fighter’s world warriors. Kicking off in December of 2018, Kellz started their project with the gravity-defying Uraraka Ochako, who, in the spirit of her internship with Top Hero Gunhead, took on the schoolgirl uniform of Sakura Kasugano, known for her admiration of the series’ main protagonist, Ryu. 600 Kellz wasn’t finished, just yet; they likewise combined Mina Ashido with Alpha 3 wrestler R. Mika – likely due to their bubbly personalities, going on to give Yaomomo the iconic leotard of Cammy White’s Delta Red Forces. 600600 Kellz’s fanart has since become so popular that cosplayers have even brought these crossovers to the real world, with cosplayer ‘Lindsgaycosplay’ creating a near-perfect rendition of Yaomomo’s Cammy-inspired look. 600 It’s not all about the heroes, though; Kellz made sure to give some love to MHA’s villains, as well, seeing fit to combine Himiko Toga’s psychotic personality with Juri Han’s insatiable thirst for vengeance. 600 Kellz’ latest additions to the collection include one of Street Fighter’s brand-new characters, the orb-wielding Menat, who Kellz combined with Hearing Hero Kyoka Jiro – although we’re not sure if the orb plays music, in this case. 600 While it might seem like their collection features only femme fatales, Kellz has finally added a male to the mix, finding Bakugou’s explosive personality a good match for Ken Masters’ own fiery moveset. 600 Bakugou’s explosive entrance to Kellz’ collection comes in the wake of one of the fighting game community’s largest tournaments of the season, Combo Breaker, which features a Premier Event on the Capcom Pro Tour – marking a major opportunity for competitive Street Fighter V players. While My Hero Academia doesn’t boast a fighting game in the traditional sense, Bandai Namco released My Hero: One’s Justice in August 2018, which allows players to throw down with their favorite heroes. 800 With these crossovers in mind, it would be pretty cool if SFV managed to drop some My Hero skins in the future. What heroes would you like to see featured next in Kellz’s artwork?

Artist goes viral after tour of his tiny “skip house” in London – Dexerto
Artist goes viral after tour of his tiny “skip house” in London Instagram: harrison_w_marshall/TikTok: jj02395A man has gone viral on TikTok after showing a creator a tour of his tiny “skip house” that he lives in in the middle of London. As popular content on TikTok continues to evolve and the weather gets warmer, an increasing number of creators are taking to the streets to ask strangers questions. Many are asking people how much they pay for rent inside of a big city, sometimes getting one-on-one tours of houses. TikToker Jub London, who goes by jj02395 on the app, recently met a man spending just £50 a month for rent in what may be the smallest house possible. Man with “skip house” in London goes viral on TikTok Uploaded on March 3, 2023, the viral video has been viewed over 21 million times. In the clip, Jub London tours the man’s skip house which appears to be smaller than some people’s bedrooms. Meant as a “loophole” to live in central London for next to nothing while he builds up funds, the “skip house” features a bed, storage space, a small kitchen, and a mini-fridge the size of a Prime Energy can. With over 20 million views, plenty of viewers took to the comments to share their thoughts on the living quarters. One user replied: “What in the world can fit in that mini fridge!?” “It’s like homeless but in a fancy way,” another viewer said. A third TikToker commented: “I now want to live in a skip lol.” What is the Skip House? The man featured in the viral TikTok is Harrison Marshall, an artist in London who collaborated with others to create the art piece in response to the rising cost of living in London. In a post on the project’s Instagram page, Harrison explained where the bathroom and shower amenities are located. So, it’s clear that the art project isn’t exactly a livable solution for most people as basic amenities aren’t available within the house. Either way, fans from the viral TikTok video love the art project and have found their way over to The Skip House’s project pages to watch Harrison’s life throughout the next year.

Artist exposes YouTuber for charging “promotion fee” for job offer – Dexerto
Artist exposes YouTuber for charging “promotion fee” for job offer A digital artist put a YouTuber on blast after being approached for a hefty animating job — one they would have to pay to undertake. For the self-employed, being “paid in exposure” is a gruelingly tiresome phrase often thrown around by potential clients who don’t have the cash — or manners — to pay up for the hard work they require. Subreddits like “ChoosingBeggars” often relay such horror stories, including screencaps of tone-deaf clients claiming that their prices are “too high” or that they should feel “honored” by being allowed to work for them. One digital artist by the name of “SmooGoo” told a similar tale in late December, just as the holiday season came to a close after they were approached by a YouTuber asking for a boatload of work for a comparatively modest price point. The client (whose name was blacked out for privacy’s sake) required SmooGoo to create a banner, intro and outro cards, a minimum of five reaction images, three animations, and three badges, making sure to state that their character MUST be correctly referenced in each of the artworks. The amount they were willing to pay? A whopping $50, for a slew of work, they required to be completed in a mere two-week time frame. “This would be a great opportunity for you,” the YouTuber wrote. “I have many followers, and you’d get a lot of fresh eyes on your work!” SmooGoo politely declined their request, claiming that $50 was far too low a payment for such a list and admitting that they were already swamped with other commissions. However, it turns out that this $50 fee wasn’t a payment for the artist’s time: instead, it was a fee that SmooGoo themselves would have to pay for the honor of animating the YouTuber’s character. “I wasn’t offering to pay you,” the YouTuber replied. “I was giving you the offer of paying me to be your promoter. It’s a very reasonable fee, given how big my channel is going to get. …you’ll be sorry if you don’t take up this offer, though!” Despite the ridiculousness of the YouTuber’s request, SmooGoo managed to find the humor in such a wacky scenario, claiming they “cried” from laughter over the ordeal — an all too familiar situation for artists across the net.

Artesian Builds stops operations after viral PC giveaway backlash – Dexerto
Artesian Builds stops operations after viral PC giveaway backlash Twitter: Artesian Builds“And there’s the reroll”. Artesian Builds have stopped operations, effective immediately amid a phenomenal fallout following an ambassador PC giveaway where CEO Noah Katz belittled participants. On March 9, after just over a week of intense public scrutiny and being dropped by sponsorship partners, Artesian Builds confirmed that they will no longer be selling PCs. The company has seen a week of derision off the back of a botched PC giveaway, leading to accusations of tax evasion. Apologies from the company were offered, but nothing seemed to stem outrage against the actions of Artesian. In a tweet posted onto the company’s official Twitter page Artesian Builds announced that they will be “freezing/suspending all activities.” We are sad to announce that, effective now, we are freezing/suspending all activities. Ongoing is analysis by outside counsel for reorg. to ensure fair treatment of clients, creditors, and employees. We expect more info by month’s end. We are open to assistance/investment. — Artesian Builds (@ArtesianBuilds) March 9, 2022 While a company is more than the actions of a CEO, the opinion expressed on Twitter and Reddit has indicated that Noah Katz is largely responsible for the feelings directed towards Artesian Builds. Katz’s comments on-stream about ‘kiapiaa’, claiming she was “under [Noah’s] threshold” to receive the PC in the ambassador giveaway, ignited the social media outcry. Comments on the Twitter post announcing the effective closure of the company have been turned off, but pundits have been expressing their thoughts with quote tweets instead. Opinions on Twitter have ranged the full spectrum of human emotion, with the majority of opinion fitting within the idea that this serves the company right. Artesian Builds files for bankruptcy two months after Twitch giveaway scandal – Dexerto
Artesian Builds files for bankruptcy two months after Twitch giveaway scandal Twitch: Artesian BuildsA difficult two months of controversy has seen Artesian Builds go through a spectacular downfall. The final nail has now been slammed into the coffin of Noah Katz’ business with the PC builders filing for bankruptcy. On March 1, PC builders and Twitch streaming company Artesian Builds received public backlash, after company CEO Noah Katz, roasted a small streamer ‘Kiapiaa’ and refused to give her a PC she had rightfully won in a giveaway. This led to the company being dropped by many of their sponsorship partners and unveiled a series of dodgy business practices within the company. Now, as of April 28, Artesian Builds has officially filed for bankruptcy, putting an end to the dealings of the company, and their alleged shonky services. As was revealed in an email sent out to the company’s debtors. Artesian Builds have officially filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy pic.twitter.com/Fiqdtsw3L2 — Dexerto (@Dexerto) April 27, 2022 With filing for bankruptcy, the company and its sole holder, Noah, are no longer held to be accountable for any outstanding debts that have been incurred during the company’s existence. This is a substantial amount of money. In the bankruptcy filing, it came to light that Artesian owes $450,000 to two PC parts sellers, as well as having over $200,000 in credit card debt. Beyond this, there’s an unknown amount of unpaid overtime and leftover holiday pay for employees, some of which had been there since inception. As well as $1.37 million in unfulfilled orders. Announcing a call to action for those who may be currently waiting on refunds or PCs that’ll never arrive, forms have been sent as this is now “the only chance to be made whole,” as streamers pointed out in the wake of this news. UHHH, okay, Artesian Builds bankruptcy docs just went out. If you got a computer, never got it and never got a refund, you need to pay attention to this. Summing up the feelings of many in the community around the speed with which Artesian collapsed, one user on Twitter aptly stated: “Crazy how one bad move can kill your whole company.” A solid reminder for anyone running questionable businesses.

Artesian Builds CEO accused of tax evasion after giveaway controversy – Dexerto
Artesian Builds CEO accused of tax evasion after giveaway controversy Twitter: Artesian BuildsArtesian Builds CEO Noah Katz has been accused of tax evasion after the company’s business license in California was forfeited. It comes after he was embroiled in controversy for denying a small streamer their PC giveaway prize live on Twitch. Artesian Builds, a popular PC builder, has been under fire this week after CEO Noah Katz revoked a giveaway live on stream because the winner didn’t have a big enough following. Streamer ‘kiapiaa’, who has since blown up in the aftermath of the controversy, was denied a free PC after entering the company’s ambassador giveaway. Katz also belittled the streamer’s social media following, with others speaking out about experiencing the same thing. However, the story continues to unravel as people dig into Katz’ background. Now, Twitch streamer ‘Onepeg’ is claiming Katz has forfeited his company license in California for failing to pay taxes in the state. If you haven’t heard @ArtesianBuilds do not care about their small streamer ambassadors. They have monthly PC giveaways for their ambassadors, great, right? Expect they don’t care for small streamers. I got chosen and they changed their rules last minute (cont.) pic.twitter.com/CzDiq7VTZP — kia (@kiapiaa_) March 1, 2022 A company by the name of Artesian Future Technology, registered in California under Katz’ name, was forfeited on March 2, 2022, according to an online database. While the exact reason was not given, the Franchise Tax Board states “when your business has been suspended or forfeited, it is not in good standing and loses its rights, powers, and privileges to do business in California.” To get the company back, board members must file all tax returns, pay all dues, and also pay an $800 fee to “revive” their business. Without doing so, Artesian Builds legally cannot do business in the state. Onepeg also claimed Artesian failed to pay for the license to build PCs in California in November 2021. The Artesian Builds parent company, under the same name in North Carolina, is still listed as active. Since the controversy went viral, Artesian Builds has lost its partnership with OTK, Pestily, and other streamers. Names like NICKMERCS are also evaluating their deals with the business. Artesian Builds apologized for the giveaway controversy, with Katz stating he “takes full accountability” and that he “made the wrong decision” to not give out the PC. The company approached kiapiaa shortly after the statement went live, with the streamer declining their offer.

Artesian Builds called out by Twitch streamers after refusing to honor PC giveaway – Dexerto
Artesian Builds called out by Twitch streamers after refusing to honor PC giveaway Twitch: KiaPiaaTwitch streamers ‘kiapiaa,’ ‘protezee,’ and ‘strwbrrymoogle’ have called out prebuilt-PC company Artesian Builds after the CEO Noah Katz allegedly changed the rules of a PC giveaway after “belittling” their stream stats. Due to a global supply crisis, computer parts like graphics cards have become harder to come across and prebuilt PC companies have risen in popularity with content creators as they have the ability to receive products straight from the manufacturer. One of those companies is Artesian Builds, which offers an ambassador program that allows creators to share a link or discount code with their community to earn a percentage back from each sale that uses their code. Now, three Twitch streamers — kiapiaa, protezee, and strwbrrymoogle — have accused the company’s CEO of “slander” in regards to comments he made after they each won a giveaway. Streamer calls out Artesian Builds on Twitter In a multi-tweet thread on her Twitter account, kiapiaa posted clips of the Artesian Builds live stream after her name was chosen to win a completely built PC. Starting off, her first tweet read: “They have monthly PC giveaways for their ambassadors, great, right? Except they don’t care for small streamers. I got chosen and they changed their rules last minute.” After reading her Twitch stats and naming off what parts are above his “threshold,” Katz said: “Let’s see if you have any redeeming qualities.” If you haven’t heard @ArtesianBuilds do not care about their small streamer ambassadors. The rules say that you need the Artesian panel in your twitch About, and I do have it. So what’s the issue @ArtesianBuilds?” You hear this mans voice? He’s belittling me. Twitch streamer ‘SonicMega’ claimed that they would have had to buy part of their own product just to be sponsored by Artesian Builds. They said: “*I* would have had to buy in with my own money for THEIR sponsorship. What a joke.” https://twitter.com/sonicmega/status/1498624748195958786?s=20&t=m2UU_AZNc1W3vdUYRhdc6A More streamers have come out in regards to the Artesian Builds giveaway, totaling three creators who were allegedly denied their prize after Noah realized their stream stats were “not high enough.” Twitch streamer strwberrymoogle called the company’s CEO “scum” and that his comments made her feel like all of her work with her stream “had meant nothing.” Wow. @ArtesianBuilds Noah you are the definition of scum. Noah Katz, not only did you essentially just look at all my hard work and go “mmm not enough”, you straight up lie to people. You made me and so may of us feel like all of our work means nothing. The company’s CEO said: “Hey Twittersphere I’m really sorry for the way we did parts of the giveaway today. We’ve given a lot of people a lot of awesome free tech and that’s not going to stop. If you want to talk, I’m here- that’s kind of the point of being live so much.” https://twitter.com/ArtesianBuilds/status/1498556078665048064?s=20&t=KL4TYtFUuVKA0K2sc2hPXQ The company went on to talk about how they have always given away computer parts to ambassadors on stream and will continue to do so. They added: “The easy way is to not be there for you. But I’ve been there for years. I haven’t done much of anything else. I love interacting with you all. And I feel terrible that anyone didn’t enjoy that process today. Please feel free to share ideas on how to improve.” 4. The easy way is to not be there for you. But I’ve been there for years. In the statement, Noah Katz says that he “takes full accountability” and that “due to updated giveaway guidelines” that were allegedly “in alignment” for the giveaway, he “made the wrong decision” to not provide kiapiaa with the PC. https://twitter.com/ArtesianBuilds/status/1498812513948864514?s=20&t=Y_pkZ3-08oaYZX2xHo9zeQ After Katz released his statement on the company Twitter account, Kia revealed that Artesian Builds had reached out to her to offer her the PC she initially won on stream. She said: “My email back to them was a simple two-sentence reply. No thank you. Take me off your ambassador list.” Okay just to clarify: They emailed me offering a PC. I denied it. I am not supporting a company that doesn’t support small streamers AKA THE backbone of their company. My email back to them was a simple two sentence reply. No ty. Take me off your ambassador list 🙂 heh ok gn— kia (@kiapiaa_) March 2, 2022 Dexerto has reached out to Artesian Builds for further comment and will update if we hear anything back.
