The celebratory stream lasted just over an hour, featuring a range of songs sung by Aqua and other Hololive members. At its peak, this stream reached 749,854 viewers, the most of any VTuber event in history, as tracked by Playboard. Minato Aqua’s graduation spiked as high as 963,662 concurrent viewers. However, this anomaly was likely a bug in YouTube’s view counting, with the sudden spike only lasting a few moments before correcting itself. Aqua’s graduation also received $237,571 in Superchat revenue, the second most of any stream in the VTuber industry. This feat was only beaten by Kiryu Coco’s graduation on July 1, 2021, which received an unmatched $306,442 in donations from fans. Similarly, Kiryu Coco’s graduation was also the most-watched stream from any VTuber before Aqua’s send-off. It peaked at 483,873 concurrent viewers, an incredible feat that was still comfortably beaten by the Hololive 2nd Generation member. This most recent graduation was not only the second most superchatted VTuber stream of all time but also the eighth most on YouTube altogether, cementing its place as one of the platform’s most historic moments. The stream’s success isn’t too surprising given how rare these occasions are. Despite debuting its first talents back in 2017, Hololive’s main branch has only had three members leave of their own accord: Minato Aqua, Kiryu Coco, and Mano Aloe. It’s a similar story with Hololive EN and Holostars EN, with Tsukumo Sana, Magni Dezmond, and Noir Vesper remaining the only members to do so. However, several others have been terminated for various reasons, like Uruha Rushia and Yozora Mel. Back in 2020, Hololive even went as far as to close down its entire Chinese branch following the infamous Kiryu Coco controversy that led to Cover Corp withdrawing from Bilibili, though they recently made a return to the platform earlier this year.

Millions in Twitch charity stream donations allegedly never paid to the charity Twitter: OTKA new report alleges that as much as 42% of charity donations raised through streams featuring Ludwig, Asmongold, xQc and more was never given over to the stated charity. The Jacob Wolf Report reports that Softgiving, an Atlanta-based marketing company, played “middleman” between big-name streamers and a charity called Games for Love. Over the course of two years, streams for Games for Love, as well as other charities, featuring as many as 37 creators raised almost $6.2 million. “Yet, according to public records, almost half of that money never went to charity,” the Jacob Wolf Report states. Over 2020 and 2021, the report claims that of the $6.2 million raised by Softgiving (now renamed as Brandfluence) and the streamers, “$2.6 million went to Softgiving to cover its commission and expenses, including influencer fees, those public records show.” Additionally, for 18 months of that period, “Softgiving did not prominently disclose on donation pages” that there were expenses paid to the influencers that would cut into the total amount raised, nor how much Softgiving retained as a commission. Softgiving also told The Jacob Wolf Report that “it no longer holds performance-based contracts with any nonprofits.” The full report details the various livestreams, featuring creators like xQc, Asmongold, Ludwig, the Botez sisters, AustinShow, and various members of One True King (OTK). Ryan Morrison, who represents xQc, the Botez sisters, and AustinShow told The Jacob Wolf Report in 2021 that he wasn’t told “how the company compensated itself or the influencers.” “We weren’t aware of this information at the time. And now that we are, we will not be working with Softgiving anymore,” Morrison said. It was unclear exactly what had happened to force the Twitch star’s broadcast to end so randomly. Despite all the “F” and “Way Too Dank” spam in the chat, xQc never reappeared, leaving some to worry. A little bit later, Lengyel took to Twitter to reveal that he had somehow forgotten to pay his electricity bill and that’s why the power went out. “Forgot to pay the electricity bill. Power went down, stream did too,” he said. “Will be back on later today or tomorrow. Ups and downs last stream, but overall good!” Some might be wondering how exactly this could even happen, especially in 2021 when everything is automated. This eventually grew so bad that he broke out in hives covering his whole body after being inside the jet. Teller eventually needed to go to a doctor for testing to diagnose the mysterious ailment. The results were quite surprising. “So I go to the doctor and my blood work comes back and I have flame-retardant, pesticides, and jet fuel in my blood,” Teller told Meyer. Luckily, with this information Teller was able to be treated and return to filming. While news of having jet fuel in his blood would make most people nervous, Teller seems to have taken the news in stride. Tom Cruise was not impressed Teller says his reaction to learning about the jet fuel in his bloodstream was that “this is kind of cool.” “So I go to set the next day and Tom [Cruise] is like, ‘So how did it go, Miles? What did they find?’ I was like, ‘Well, Tom, it turns out I have jet fuel in my blood.’” Unfortunately, Cruise did not have the impressed reaction that Teller was expecting. Tom responded to the news by simply saying, “yeah, I was born with it kid”, Teller says. He was 28 years old. According to a report from TMZ, police were called to a bowling alley in Houston just after 2:30am, after reports of a shooting. TakeOff was with his Migos co-member and uncle Quavo, when an altercation reportedly broke out over a dice game. TakeOff, real name Kirshnik Khari Ball, was pronounced dead at the scene due to a bullet wound “to the head or close to the head.” Police also said that two other people were shot and taken to hospital. Despite some reports on social media, it is said that Quavo himself was not shot or injured. Hours before the shooting, TakeOff had posted a selfie from the location of the incident. TakeOff, who died at aged 28, helped make Migos a hit-making machine in recent years. As social media has become a daily part of most people’s everyday lives, it has come to affect society too. From creating thousands of new jobs and career opportunities, to being accused of “poisoning” youths, the ways it’s affected our everyday lives are endless. These changes have also been made clear in schools across the world, as the younger generations are growing up with different social media accounts. But some schools are claiming that students are taking it too far. Middle school students at the Alamance-Burlington School System in North Carolina have now had their mirror privileges revoked after staff members argued students spent too much time in the school bathrooms filming TikTok videos. Middle school removes bathroom mirrors to prevent TikTok use “Students were going to the bathroom for long periods of time and making TikTok videos,” Les Atkins, the public relations officer for the school system, told WFMY. Students were allegedly going to the bathroom up to 7 to 8 times a day to film content for their social media accounts. This has now resulted in the school having to take action by removing the mirrors in the bathrooms. And it seems to have worked. “Not as many visits to the bathroom, not staying as long and students are held accountable and then when there’s accountability you see a great difference,” Atkins said. The school district has also implemented a digital hall pass system that will allow students to check in and out of class, which lets teachers and staff document just how much time each student is spending outside of the classroom. “We’re trying to educate students: we all have cell phones now. We have to learn to use them. We have to learn when to put them down,” Atkins said. Atkins also argued it was a safety precaution as they would always know where each of the students was at every moment of the day. Parents had mixed responses to the news, with some praising the school for what they’d done. However, some didn’t think removing the mirrors was the right solution, and that instead, students should not be allowed to bring their phones to school. Some even went as far as to say that the students should not have their own phones at all.

Jackie said she had crouched for so long in her classroom, that she now has a “full-blown PTSD fracture” that flares up anytime she’s in a stressful situation. The horrific incident in Newtown, Connecticut, left 26 people dead; 20 children and six adults. Michigan State student calls for action to curb school shootings Jackie is now calling for action beyond love and prayers. “My heart goes out to all the families and the friends of the Michigan State shooting. But we can no longer just provide love and prayers,” she said. “It needs to be legislation, it needs to be action. It’s not okay. We can no longer allow this to happen. We can no longer be complacent. I’ll forever be Sandy Hook Strong. I’ll forever be Spartan Strong.” The student’s video was reposted on Twitter, amassing over 9.4 million views, and drawing thousands of supportive replies and retweets. Monday’s attack in Michigan unfolded at around 8.15 pm when Anthony Dwayne McRae entered a classroom and started firing. The incident took place after a student altercation ended with a metal chair being hurled across the classroom. The chair hit the teacher in the head, causing her to fall to the ground unconscious, with footage showing the moments leading up to the throw. In the footage, students in the classroom can be seen in the midst of an argument, with one particular student screaming at someone across the room from her. Seemingly attempting to defuse the situation, the teacher stood in the middle of the room trying to calm students down. But things were about to take a turn for the worse. As things escalated, the upset student picked up a chair and threw it, striking the teacher in the head. Instantly, the teacher was knocked unconscious and fell to the ground as screams erupted throughout the room. Luckily, the school’s Superintendent Kevelin Jones has since announced in a statement that the teacher is “doing well” and was even released from hospital the same day. The teacher is expected to return to work next week, though it remains unknown as to what actions have been taken against the offending student. However, many have called for legal action, with one person writing, “Assault with intent to do bodily harm. Harris wouldn’t have the internet’s sympathy for long, though. Mere days later, thanks to resurfaced records discovered by Washtenaw County Judge J.
