  • IRL streamer left in shock after being groped in public on broadcast – Dexerto

IRL streamer left in shock after being groped in public on broadcast A Korean IRL streamer broadcasting on Twitch was left shocked and angered after she randomly groped by a passerby while live streaming in public. IRL streaming, often considered a niche category on the mainly video game streaming platform, has grown significantly in popularity over recent years. Many streamers now broadcast their daily lives for hours every day, either at home or while out in public, meeting friends, eating out and going to events. Due to the nature of the content, streamers can grow a large and very loyal following, which is solely based on their personality and not tied to any particular video game or game genre. However, it can be risky, and there have been countless incidents of streamers getting into trouble while filming in public places, sometimes attracting unwanted attention from other people. A very extreme example of this took place on December 18, when Korean Twitch streamer ‘Hikikko’ (힛키코) was groped, very forcefully, by a passerby. The Twitch channel has since been taken down for unknown, possibly unrelated reasons, but the clip was quickly shared around social media and Reddit. A Korean speaker attempted to translate what was said, claiming the woman exclaimed “Hey! Hey you fucking lunatic! Hey you over there! Come back”, apparently taunting the assaulter to try it again. It appears that the assailant managed to flee and so it’s unlikely they were ever caught for their actions, and they are certainly not identifiable from the footage itself. The individual likely would not have known that the incident was in fact being live streamed, perhaps mistaking the camera being used for a selfie.

  • IRL streamer left speechless after bizarre late night encounter with Australian driver – Dexerto

IRL streamer left speechless after bizarre late night encounter with Australian driver Twitch: Hitch / PixabayIRL Twitch streamer Trevor ‘Hitch’ Daneliuk was left speechless after what started out to be an innocent meeting with an Australian taxi driver turned into a rather bizarre and awkward encounter. Whether it likes it or not, Twitch is home to a whole hoard of bizarre and strange goings-on. It seems like something crazy happens on the daily – from streamers embroiled in housing dramas, to people being inappropriately grabbed and threatened with guns, the platform has seen it all. IRL streamer Hitch is one example of a broadcaster who has dealt with his fair share of crazy occurrences, and this latest encounter is another to add to the ever-growing list. Hitch ‘hitched’ a ride During the fourteenth day of his Australian backpacking trip on July 16, Hitch hitchhiked a ride with a driver willing to take him to his next destination. The pair got chatting, and what seemed like an innocent conversation at first quickly got awkward for the IRL streamer. “So, what do you get up to when you do have your week off, since you don’t have any family stuff to tie you down right now? [What are] your hobbies?” Hitch asked the driver after they talked about what they do for a living. The reply was lighthearted enough at first, with the driver detailing how he likes to go surfing, motorbike riding, and performing motor stunts. But the conversation quickly took an unexpected turn, however, after he finished up with a nonchalant “oh, and doing drugs.” Hitch was stunned at the abruptness of the revelation, and mustered up a small “oh… okay” in reply. The air turned thick with discomfort, as the pair sat in silence for the rest of their ride. It’s not the only crazy encounter he’s had during his trip The Canadian streamer had another just-as-crazy encounter during his Australia trip, except it was a much more wholesome this time. While trying to hitchhike a lift by a set of traffic lights, he strikes gold when a driver agrees to pull over and give him a ride to the next town. In a shocking twist, the woman in question actually happened to be the mayor of said town. “So where are you from and what’s your name?” the lady asked politely as he took a seat in her car. “I’m from Canada and my name is Trevor!” Hitch explained. “Hi, Trevor. I’m Amanda!” she replied, before dropping the heartwarming bomb. “And I’m the mayor of Shoalhaven! I’m the boss of the city.” Read More: Why is Belle Delphine banned on Instagram? – “What?!” the IRL streamer hit back excitedly. “You’re the boss of the city?! That’s pretty cool – thank you for picking me up!” Sadly, as Amanda is the mayor of the town, she could only take him so far before she had to get back to her duties. Hitch was more than thankful though, and took the opportunity to ask her many questions about her leading role. With Hitch documenting his worldwide travels almost daily on his Twitch channel, who knows what wild and wonderful experiences the IRL streamer will run into next.

  • Jinnytty reveals bizarre reason behind fourth Twitch ban – Dexerto

Jinnytty reveals bizarre reason behind fourth Twitch ban Twitch: JinnyttyTwitch IRL and variety streamer Jinny has been banned for a fourth time, and the second time in 2022 alone, this time for a fake boob she wore as a joke months prior to her ban. A member of TSM since October, Jinny has had her account suspended on multiple occasions previously, twice for violations related to dangerous driving. Back in October 2020, Jinny was banned for reckless driving on a scooter. She was then more recently banned in August 2022, after once again crashing while riding a scooter, although it’s not been confirmed if this was in fact the exact reason for the ban. As of November 12, Jinny’s Twitch account is once again suspended. Why was Jinny banned? Jinny was actually streaming on a different channel, Crown, on November 10, sparking some confusion about why her own account was banned. On the Crown channel, which was also featuring fellow streamers FanFan and SupCaitlin, Jinny was showing ‘magic tricks’, using a questionably shaped foam object. Jinny responded on Twitter, saying, “I got banned cause of this sponge c**k magic show are u kidding me I’m dying laughing legit not even sexual but Twitch being ridiculous not the first time.” However, she went on to clarify that the ban was not actually for the sponge toy, but for a “fake boob” she wore some months ago as a joke. She said: “OK IT WASNT THE C**K WHEW BUT IT WAS THE FAKE BOOB I WORE AS A JOKE MONTHS AGO HUH?” It does go some way to explain why Jinny’s channel specifically was banned, but it raises questions as to why it took so long for Twitch to take action if the TSM star was deemed to have committed a bannable offense. Despite this being her fourth ban this year, Jinny’s channel currently states that it is temporarily unavailable due to a violation of Twitch’s Community Guidelines, so the suspension is not permanent. As of November 12, she is still banned on the platform. Twitch does not comment on community guidelines violations to protect the privacy of users.

  • IRL streamer Jinny fires back at drunk stranger calling her career “sad” – Dexerto

IRL streamer Jinny fires back at drunk stranger calling her career “sad” Twitch: JinnyTTyWhile livestreaming her experiences in Pengang, IRL Twitch Streamer Jinnytty documented an uncomfortable interaction with a drunk stranger. Taking livestreams from the comfort and security of home into the wild of the world consistently brings out the strangest in people. Though not everyone can take the drastic step of personal security capturing an emergency or something illegal now seems par for the course when taking viewers out into the real world. Korean streamer Jinnytty has been taking her stream with over 730,000 followers on Twitch around the world. Yet still managing to find an uncomfortably forthright American roaming the streets of Pengang, Malaysia. Amidst a May 26 stream, Jinny was accosted by a stranger outside a bar. Starting by telling Jinny to: “Capture the experience,” you see this man identify himself as ‘Dan’, a Boston native, before stopping in his tracks to “split a beer” with the popular livestreamer. Taking a negative turn almost immediately, you see Dan offering derision for what Jinny does. Saying: “Doesn’t that make you sad, walking around with a camera stick, that’s your career? Shame. Shame.” Dan continues to dig himself a hole by claiming “this is everything wrong with your generation.” Jinny responds in kind to the obtuse stranger “I shame you for shaming this.” Continuing to provide a clinic in late 00’s style negging in an attempt to pick Jinny up, Dan doubles down on smack-talking IRL livestreaming “What’s so special about the way you walk down the street?” Before revealing his motives by stating: “You’re very hot, I’ll give you that.” Jinny’s chat turned on the man, requesting for her to leave the situation. Turning this into entertainment she brings Dan’s attention to the dislike he’s receiving. Pointing out comments such as: “Run away.” “Mean man,” and “f**k this guy.” Eventually, the interaction ended with Jinny just walking away from the man before telling her chat what a weirdo he was. This is far from the first time that Jinny has encountered weird behavior on the streets, dodging potential kidnappings, and getting scammed in broad daylight all part of a day in the life of an IRL streamer.

  • IRL Streamer ‘JakenBakeLIVE’ Invited to Las Vegas Casino to Stream is Kicked Out for Streaming – Dexerto

IRL Streamer ‘JakenBakeLIVE’ Invited to Las Vegas Casino to Stream is Kicked Out for Streaming JakenBake, known for his IRL streams, was invited to Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas to promote their streamer suite and esports initiative. JakenBake took to Twitch to promote the suite, stating that his visit was sponsored by the hotel itself and that he would be streaming his experience. After showcasing one of the massive suites, he made his way down to the casino floor – and was stopped by security. A security guard approached him while he streamed on the casino floor and asked him firmly to stop the broadcast. “Can you please turn it off right now and delete everything you recorded?” Attempting to plead his case, JakenBake stated his purpose with Caesar’s Entertainment – to no avail. “I can tell you exactly who I’m working with – the marketing department that’s working with esports. I’m in your streamer suite right now, in 1501.” The guard wasn’t fazed. “Still – the policy is no recording on the floor for any reason around gaming.” The guard continued to ask him to stop the stream. He likewise asked JakenBake to provide identification and documentation, both of which he produced. Although JakenBake’s testimony was solid, the guard stated that he was not allowed to show any of the games on the casino floor nor to stream there at all. “Yeah, we just can’t stream on the casino floor here. Those guys were really serious, but that’s the rules.” JakenBake’s run-in with security comes alongside Caesars’ new Entertainment Studios, built for television, movie, and esports broadcasts.

  • IRL streamer Jinny banned from Twitch without warning – Dexerto

IRL streamer Jinny banned from Twitch without warning Jinnytty | TwitterKorean Twitch streamer Jinny is one of the most popular streamers on Twitch. Her travels across the world have captured a massive audience, but she’s been suddenly banned with no warning. Jinny quickly travelled to the top of the twitch viewership charts through her travels in June 2022, and became the second most watched female streamer on the platform. But now, she’s been banned. And no one’s really sure why. Reason for Jinny’s ban remains a mystery Jinny’s had her fair share of strange interactions on stream. From arguing with a drunk man who insulted her streaming career, to getting scammed on stream, she’s certainly had her fair share of controversial incidents through her twitch career. It’s been a long while since Jinny’s been banned on twitch for any period of time despite some close calls. Jinny has been banned twice previously on twitch. The big difference here is that those previous bans had an immediate reason. One of her bans was the result of some comments on one of The Last of Us Part II’s main characters, while the other was for reckless driving on a scooter. These bans were immediately responded to by Jinny, and had a reason behind them. In the case of the reckless driving ban, she was quickly unbanned after making a public apology for her actions. Despite these bans, she still has a generally good standing on Twitch and went to the most recent Twitchcon in June. That said, Jinny did recently have another scooter incident where she wasn’t driving responsibly despite being banned previously for the same offense. She was riding a scooter in Istanbul and trying to get it to start while going up a hill. The scooter suddenly sprung to life after stalling, and she jumped off of it before it slammed into a wall. While there’s no direct stated reason for the ban, this is a possible suspect. For now, the only thing we know for sure is that she’s been banned on Twitch.

  • IRL Streamer Involved in Car Accident Because He’s Too Busy Talking to the Camera – Dexerto

IRL Streamer Involved in Car Accident Because He’s Too Busy Talking to the Camera In yet another incident of streaming while driving going predictably wrong, an IRL streamer seemed distracted by talking to his viewers in chat rather than paying attention to the road. Police forces have continually been warning of the dangers of streaming while driving, after the number of in incidents has shot up as streaming in general becomes more popular. Believed to be driving somewhere in California, a state known for congested traffic in busy areas, the streamer is waiting at a red light as he talks to his chat about general things. When he thinks the light changes for him to go, he accelerates all while still talking to his chat and glancing down at his camera placed on the passenger seat beside him. However, as he is distracted he fails to notice that in fact it was not his turn to move at the junction, and coming from where he believed traffic had stopped at a red light, a vehicle blasts its horn before smashing into the side of the streamer’s car. His camera and mic fortunately remains intact, meaning viewers could continue to hear the exchange as he immediately apologized to the other driver, explaining he believed it was a red light. Thankfully, it appears from what is visible in the video and the discussion in the background, that no one was seriously injured in the collision. It is a wake up call for the streamer, and hopefully serves as yet another reminder that streaming while driving is incredibly dangerous, no matter how casual it may seem A past incident we reported in led to the streamer being hospitalized with serious injuries, after unwittingly driving out in front of a massive rig truck.

  • IRL streamer issues warning to troll harassing him at restaurant – Dexerto

IRL streamer issues warning to troll harassing him at restaurant TheUrbanZebra, Twitch / FreepikThanks to the ever-growing popularity of IRL streaming, internet personalities can broadcast their daily lives for all to see – but sometimes, these streams can end in disaster. Although popular, IRL (in real life) streaming can lead to some risky situations, with obsessive fans and internet trolls able to track down streamers’ locations to potentially harass them without warning. One such incident occurred during IRL Twitch streamer “TheUrbanZebra’s” August 22 broadcast, while he was out getting pizza with a friend. In the middle of his meal, the streamer was interrupted by a member of the restaurant’s staff, who told him that his “boyfriend” had called the location and asked him to wait there. TheUrbanZebra was obviously not buying the story, with his friend exasperatedly joking that “Tim is calling again.” “Timothy needs to leave me alone,” the streamer bluntly stated, looking directly into the camera. “I’m really, really tired of him calling me all the time. Timothy, stop it. ‘Kay? We are over. I’m really, really tired of you calling me all the time.” While TheUrbanZebra was obviously playing along with the troll’s joke, his statement held a note of warning, appearing to ask “Timothy” to respect his privacy behind the humor. This wouldn’t be the first time an IRL streamer has been harassed by trolls on camera, by far: in fact, popular IRL streamer Paul “ICE_POSEIDON” Denino was swatted off a plane after streaming inside an airport in April 2017. Denino, known for having a toxic community, was escorted off the plane after a troll called in a bomb threat in his name, later stating that he was “afraid” to stream his Dreamhack experience due to the issue. “If someone’s willing to do that on a fucking plane, what’s to stop them from doing it at Dreamhack?” POSEIDON said of the scandal. While not as serious, TheUrbanZebra’s joking response to “Timothy” marks the latest incident of IRL streamers being followed and harassed without consent – an issue that will likely continue as streaming continues to grow in popularity.

  • IRL streamer humiliated as bystander thinks he’s talking to a tree – Dexerto

IRL streamer humiliated as bystander thinks he’s talking to a tree Twitch/thestockguy/NintendoInteracting with chat can be a fun experience for IRL streamers, but as one Twitch personality recently found out, when people don’t know who you’re talking to you can look very bizarre. TheStockGuy was nearing the end of a magnet fishing stream on October 12, and started talking with his chat. The streamer appeared to have put the phone on a tree so his chat could see him as he fished. When he came back towards the camera to talk to his chat, an off-screen woman began to look at him strangely because it seemed as if he was talking to a tree. “I’m not talking to a tree, I promise,” TheStockGuy exclaimed. “I thought you were and then I saw the phone,” the woman can be heard saying off-screen, prompting a chuckle by broadcaster. “I saw you shaking your head, no I’m not talking to a tree. Thank you,” he added as he and the woman spoke over each other. Before trailing off and leaving the fisherman to do his own thing, the woman had one last quirp: “Better a tree than nobody.” For his part, the streamer agreed with the statement. “Good point, thank you. Thank you for making me feel better,” he laughed. Eventually, once the woman had completely left the streamer confided in his chat. “She literally thought I was talking to a tree. She started walking fast when she passed by until I said something.” IRL streamers often run the risk of looking weird in public when talking to their chat, but it could be especially strange if their phone is literally in a tree. Luckily for TheStockGuy, he wasn’t in his own neighborhood so he wouldn’t have to run the risk of running into people who think he was speaking with a tree ever again.

  • IRL streamer instantly regrets agreeing to eat disgusting giant bug – Dexerto

IRL streamer instantly regrets agreeing to eat disgusting giant bug Twitch star Kiaraakitty is well-known for her IRL travel streams, where she embraces other cultures. Her trip to Bangkok, Thailand, was no exception, though she was left looking disgusted after her first bite of a giant bug. For her part, Kiara had been very open-minded to trying new foods while on her trip, including a scorpion that she barely managed to eat despite a look of sheer disgust on her face with every bite. On November 18, the streamer was walking around a market area and wanted to try eating a new bug for the first time. “Very big and juicy,” she told her stream while she held up the insect for inspection. Ate scorpion for the first time last night..watch the clip here https://t.co/w1XQC3ePjr pic.twitter.com/ilzavhttlI — Kiki 大奶妹 (@kiaraakitty) November 17, 2019 Before she could pop the bug into her mouth, Kiara’s friend showed up and was shocked that she decided to purchase the gross-looking food item. “You actually decided to get that?” she asked. “I’m gonna try this one,” she replied and took a big bite while her friend stared on with her mouth gasped wide in disbelief. While the brave Kiara seemed confident that she would enjoy eating the insect, she immediately appeared to dislike the taste. Meanwhile, the people she bought the creature from just looked on with awkward grins on their faces. Eventually, one of the two salesmen decided to help the young streamer out by taking the wings off the bug. “Oh, you weren’t meant to eat the wings,” her friend observed. Kiara, now with her food correctly prepared, spit the winged insect into a napkin before taking a bite of the wingless snack. On the second go, the traveler enjoyed the ‘treat’ and said it reminded her of the taste of prawn skin. “I was pretty disturbed by it,” Kiara’s friend admitted. “The inside alone.” Bugs as food are prevalent in Thailand and as such, bred for consumption. Local food markets often feature edible bug tables where vendors sell their products.

  • IRL streamer hatches genius plan to save girl being harassed in Tokyo – Dexerto

IRL streamer hatches genius plan to save girl being harassed in Tokyo Twitch/robcdeeTwitch streamer ‘robcdee’ is well-known for his IRL adventures in Tokyo, Japan and helping out tourists in distress. His March 20 broadcast proved once again that he’s up for the challenge – even when those in need don’t speak English. Rob was walking through the popular Shibuya district at night when he spotted a woman being chatted up by two men. In Japan, it’s common for men to use a very aggressive style of flirting. Despite it being a popular practice in the country, it’s still frowned upon. While the streamer didn’t approach the Spanish-speaking girl at first, she definitely noticed him and eyed Rob as he walked past her, talking with his chat about a drink he had bought. “Girl in distress?” sub-gifter Collected1 asked. “She’s okay,” Rob replied. “She’s Spanish.” However, his chat didn’t agree with the observation and encouraged the streamer to step in. “Save her,” another user responded. “Yeah, that girl seemed weirded out.” “Actually? Really?” Rob wondered, and did a quick 180 turn. “You guys just want another clip.” Just like that, Rob, who is actually from Australia, approached the woman and claimed to be from Spain. The girl, however, didn’t buy it, and questioned Rob’s nationality even though the two Japanese men continued to chat her up. After his attempt at speaking Spanish failed, he had no choice but to be upfront about his true intentions. “I’m trying to help you!” he laughed. The woman finally got the hint and leaned closer to Rob while the Japanese men started wondering if he was her boyfriend or not. “No, just friends,” he replied. “Let’s go. Have a good night, guys.” With that, Rob was able to get the girl away from the two men right as her actual boyfriend approached from the other side of the street. Rob has made quite a name for himself saving tourists in need, including one instance where he helped a drunk man get back to his Airbnb. Clearly, he’s the hero Tokyo needs – and maybe even the one it deserves.

  • IRL streamer Hitch has strangest interaction with random bystander – Dexerto

IRL streamer Hitch has strangest interaction with random bystander Twitch streamer Trevor ‘Hitch’ Daneliuk had one of the weirdest encounters with a bystander while IRL broadcasting in Malaysia. Hitch is currently traveling across Asia, hitching rides from random strangers to travel from one place to the next. While in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on October 18, the IRL streamer had a rather bizarre brush with a bystander that left him baffled as to what the encounter meant. 600Strange IRL interaction While sitting down to eat his lunch, the 25-year-old was suddenly fronted with a random man appearing behind him, clearly fascinated by the camera. While the streamer didn’t quite notice he had company at first, he soon realized once the person had gotten close to his head, after which he waved to the stranger. The man waved back and nodded, before pointing to the camera and making a hand gesture in front of his eyes that appeared to be binoculars. He then pointed to his elbow – an action that Hitch then mimicked – before nodding again and walking off. The Canadian burst into absolute hysterics at the situation, wondering what on Earth had just happened to him. “I just liked that that whole interaction was non-verbal!” (Mobile viewers, click here for the clip.) While the streamer is no stranger to bizarre encounters, it comes as no surprise that he’s bound to meet all sorts of weird and wonderful people across his travels. Read More: PewDiePie explains why he’s banned in China – His Instagram bio shows just how far he’s journeyed across the planet, boasting a whopping 32 countries and over 1,500 hitchhiking rides – no small feat, especially for someone who relies solely on strangers to get around. Hitch’s travels have attracted widespread attention online, and he’s amassed over 72,000 followers on Twitch as of the time of writing. While many people might not entertain the idea of hitching a ride with a random person themselves, it just goes to show that many are still curious about it because of how unexpected it can be.

  • IRL streamer has hilarious message during Japanese TV interview – Dexerto

IRL streamer has hilarious message during Japanese TV interview Twitch/RobcdeeIRL Twitch streamer Robcdee had no idea he was going to be interviewed when he went for takeout at a restaurant in Tokyo, but didn’t waste an opportunity to joke around. After getting off his bike and heading inside, the Australian streamer noticed that a television crew was inside with a cameraman and interviewer. “Oh they’re doing [an interview],” Rob said before opening the door to the establishment. After placing his order and being directed to wait at the counter, the reporter turned to the streamer and asked him if he would be down to conduct an interview for Japanese TV. “My Japanese is not very good,” Rob claimed. “Is English okay?” The reporter agreed, and Rob headed to the counter to wait for his meal while the camera crew got set up and finished talking with the restaurant’s staff. A few minutes later, it was finally time for the interview. “How many times do you come here a week?” the television host asked Rob. “In one week? Two times a week,” he answered, before being asked about the ongoing global issues and how it’s impacting daily life. “It’s getting more dangerous so I do takeout.” Once he explained he likes to eat at home, Rob decided to sneak in a quick plug for an infamous mobile game. “And uh, I like to play Raid: Shadow Legends while I eat,” Rob added. Immediately, the streamer’s chat was spammed with LULs and “KEKs” from viewers, who found the plug on Japanese TV to be hilarious. Raid: Shadow Legends, despite positive reviews, has become a bit of a joke with its aggressive marketing campaign with many YouTubers and content creators getting paid to advertise the game. The fact that Rob took the opportunity to advertise the game on Japanese TV is quite amusing, but it’s unclear whether or not the interview ended up airing or if the ad was edited out. In any case, the streamer handled himself fairly well in the interview even if he decided to joke around a bit during it.

IRL streamer gives “subtle” warning to tourist being targeted by scammers Seanonsite85, Twitch / FreepikThanks to the advent of IRL streaming, netizens can broadcast their daily lives for a live audience – but sometimes, these broadcasts can capture unexpected and downright awkward moments. One such moment was caught during an August 30 broadcast from Twitch streamer “shaunonsite85,” who was streaming his trip in Seoul, Korea. During his travels, he came upon a tourist who he felt was being scammed, who could be seen speaking with two Korean women on the street – although loud music and background noise obscured most of their conversation. 600Shaun looked visibly worried about this encounter and appeared to question if he should approach the group before taking the initiative, interrupting their visit by asking the tourist if she’d found a Starbucks nearby. “I’m sorry to bother you, but have you found another Starbucks around here by chance?” he began – but his question soon turned into a pointed warning. “Because I am so looking for a Starbucks – you know, I’m trying to prevent from being SCAMMED by some people. I’m trying to look around, trying to get to hiding, you know, from being SCAMMED by someone.” Shaun’s well-intentioned warning appeared to fall on lost ears, as the tourist returned his statement with a confused, “Okay?” “They’re trying to scam you,” he continued before walking away, explaining to his viewers that the scammers in question frequented the area to prey on unsuspecting tourists. “I get so sick and tired of these scammers coming around here,” he explained. “That’s why she was covering up with the umbrella, trying to say, ‘Don’t show our faces.’ No, I’m gonna show your faces, ya dumb broads, coming out here, trying to scam foreigners and everything.” Although the alleged scam was never verified, tales of such rip-offs are common in the some areas of the country, with YouTuber “Singaporean in Korea” explaining that scammers will often ask foreigners for directions – which ends up turning into a convoluted recruitment plan for so-called “cults.” [Timestamp: 2:50 for mobile viewers] Whatever the case may be, it’s always a good idea to keep your guard up in crowded places – and, thanks to thoughtful bystanders like Shaunonsite, another possible scam may have been prevented.

Shook had been drinking at a bar in the Philippines, when he was approached by a lady who asked him to pay for the beer he’d been drinking. Latham paid 500 pesos (roughly $10 or £7.50) for his beers – after he was prompted by the ‘waitress’. Neither the streamer nor his viewers batted an eyelid when prompted to pay, despite the woman’s struggles to add up his drink tally, or the amount of questions she asked about how much he owed. The ‘waitress’ was not in a discernible uniform, but claimed to be the manager of the establishment, and was subsequently paid by Shook. Suspicions were first raised after another member of staff came over and asked the streamer to pay for his drinks, to whom he explained that he had already given a member of staff 500 pesos. The actual staff member was confused by this and went to get a senior member of staff, as Shook explained he had been charged 125 pesos per beer, and that the waitress who had asked for it had finished her shift. This was followed by Shook being approached by the actual manager of the bar, who asked to see the clip of the waitress, to establish whether or not she was an actual employee. The manager explained that the lady is “not staff here”, causing Shook understandable frustration. Shook spent the next couple of hours at the same bar, establishing what happened and showing footage of the lady in question, who likely did not know she was being filmed as she performed the theft. He later described the event as “wild” and took issue with a number of his chat who were jokingly suggesting he had “snitched” on the fake waitress. However, it’s hard to see him letting such a minor event ruin his world travels.

IRL streamer freaks out after deer steals and eats his Japan travel pass Twitch: JOEYKAOTYKAn IRL streamer’s broadcast in Nara, Japan quickly went south when a deer stole his Japan Rail Pass from him. The Twitch personality lost it when the animal tried to eat his travel document. The city of Nara is known for its historic temples, and beautiful sights. The Prefecture capital is most known for its iconic park where majestic deer roam to mingle with visitors. However, a Twitch streamer’s peaceful experience was disrupted when one of the mammals took his rail pass from him and began to munch down on it. Panicked, the IRL personality jumped in to get it back. IRL streamer’s rail pass stolen by deer Streamer ‘Joey Kaoty’ was visiting Nara on March 27, and broadcasted his experience at the infamous park. He and his companion waited as the animals began to surround them. “They’re smelling us, oh s**t. Don’t move!” he exclaimed. However one of the mammals came up from behind them and dove into his streaming partner’s purse. “Yo, there ain’t nothing in there! What are you doing?” he yelled at the creature. The deer then lifted up his head with the IRL personality’s travel pass in his mouth. “That’s my JR Pass!” Joey screamed. The streamer then dove towards the creature and tugged at the document that he was now chewing on. “Give my f**king JR Pass now! He’s chewing my f**king JR Pass!” He then managed to yank the pass back from the animal and exclaimed “Yoink, mother f**ker!” Still flustered by the incident, the Twitch personality then yelled out loud. “I’m so triggered right now! Man, there is spit all over it!” He then held up the document to the camera to show his viewers. While he managed to get the expensive pass back, he was still stunned by what had just happened. “Goddamn. So triggered, dude. I’m done f**king with deers.” His streaming partner burst into laughter over watching him scramble for his railway pass. “It’s not funny! Oh, you’re having so much fun now. That was fun!” he exclaimed jokingly. The Japan Rail Pass is offered to tourists and can only be purchased outside of the country. The document lets you use the bullet train up and down the countryside at reduced prices. While it’s a huge saving for those looking to visit Japan, the JR ticket can be worth hundreds of dollars depending on the package that is paid for, making the streamer’s reaction completely understandable.

  • IRL streamer freaks out after random man on beach sniffs her – Dexerto

IRL streamer freaks out after random man on beach sniffs her Twitch/ImjasmineIRL Twitch streamer ‘ImJasmine’ was left stunned after a stranger randomly touched her with his nose while running across a beach in Vietnam. The streamer was walking around the beach during a March 30 broadcast while talking with her viewers and enjoying the scenery. As Jasmine was trying to figure out a potential stream delay issue by getting her viewers to spam “bobs” in chat, a man started approaching from behind. What made the whole thing more bizarre was she was counting to ten and right as she reached it, the man sped up and appeared to hit her with his nose, causing the startled streamer to leap back. It’s unclear what prompted the man to act like that, but Jasmine had no interest in engaging with the individual who was walking farther up ahead. “Oh my God,” she cried while the strange man walked passed and gave her a thumbs up. “That was so scary. Did that guy just sniff me?!” The whole encounter was extremely bizarre from the sniff to the thumbs up, but according to Jasmine, the man did more than just smell her. “He literally just… he went up and wiped his nose and sniffed me on my shoulder,” she disgustedly explained. “Can I just go this way before I get murdered?” Luckily, because she was at a beach, the Canadian decided to just go into the water and wash herself and get germs off her body. “That was some Silence of the Lambs s**t,” she laughed, referencing the 1991 Oscar-winning film starring Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins. Eventually, she was able to get away from the man and off the beach safely, but she was clearly still absolutely baffled at what transpired.

  • IRL streamer falsely accused of filming in public bathroom – Dexerto

IRL streamer falsely accused of filming in public bathroom An IRL Twitch streamer was falsely accused of recording in a public bathroom by a random stranger in Japan on August 2. The bystander reported her to the police and the situation left her completely distraught. In-real-life streams can sometimes get uncomfortable fast, as the outside world isn’t always as safe as the normal broadcasts we are used to watching due to the unpredictability of human behavior. While in Japan, IRL streamer ‘milkypuff’ was broadcasting her daily life when the situation took a sharp turn. She was suddenly approached by police after a local man accused her of breaking the law by filming in a public bathroom. A man called the police on milkypuff During her August 2 stream, the Tokyo-based model was walking around a Japanese subway station when she paused her stream to go to the bathroom. “I just got partnered, so I don’t want to have that kind of reputation,” she laughed before putting her broadcast into ‘BRB’ mode while she entered the public toilets. After the streamer came back, she was seen visibly distraught as a couple of police officers surrounded her, alongside the member of the public who accused her of filming in the bathroom. “Camera on,” one of the officers stated, pointing at her phone and then in the direction of the bathrooms. “Microphone. Toilet.” “And it was off!” milkypuff insisted. “He says I filmed in the bathroom when I didn’t. And…” She was then cut off by the angry man who reported her who accused her again of recording live in the bathrooms because the screen was on. “It was not live! It was off! It’s off!” the streamer stated, as she got more upset. The bystander continued to argue with milkypuff, who broke down crying in defeat before being escorted away by the officers to the police station. milkypuff claims the man was racist Eventually, milkypuff returned to her stream and was absolutely distraught, claiming that the man who reported her was allegedly racist towards her: “He was racist, that’s why he did that. The entire time he was just talking about like foreigners do this, foreigners do that. It’s the foreigners so they must be doing it.” She then went on to explain that she showed the police the VOD, and proved her innocence. But it took longer than necessary because of the man’s rant. “They knew I was innocent. But because the guy went on a fucking rant about foreigners, I had to stay for like an extra two hours for him to finish.” This latest IRL streamer interaction just goes to show yet again that not everybody is clued in on the world of online broadcasting and there’s still a long way to go before it’s a universally understood thing.

IRL streamer flees in terror after being attacked by monkey while live YouTube: TheRealMoisesBA streamer was attacked by a monkey while live after he accidentally trod on its monkey friend, sending the streamer scarpering as they watched on. Just Chatting and IRL livestreams are always home to some weird, wacky, or downright scary situations. We’ve seen streamers robbed, with property stolen straight out of their hands while live, as well as being embarrassed by their chats while out in public. Not only are humans unpredictable, however. Animals in livestreams are even more unpredictable and often provide some of the strangest content you’ll see on stream. Monkey hits out at IRL streamer in self-defense YouTube streamer TheRealMoisesB found this out the hard way during a May 18 livestream, while he and his friends trekked around Kathmandu, streaming their journey as they go. As a pair of monkeys were simply traversing between them, Moises’ friend accidentally trod on one of them, causing them to squeal slightly in pain. Much like humans, said monkey was immediately defended by their friend, who launched themselves at the man who ran away as soon as he realized he was under threat. Timestamp 1:22:22 The two monkeys stayed where they were, watching their mystery assailant scarper off into the distance before walking off to continue going about their monkey business. This isn’t the first time a monkey has had problems live on stream. Earlier in May 2023, one IRL Kick streamer was also left terrified after being chased down by a monkey. Needless to say, if you’re a streamer traveling across Asian countries — or anywhere where monkeys might be roaming the streets — we would advise you to admire them from afar or risk a nasty battle that you don’t want to fight.

  • IRL streamer EBZ rages at hotel staff as stream snipers target him – Dexerto

IRL streamer EBZ rages at hotel staff as stream snipers target him Unsplash/YouTube: EBZIRL streamer Ebenezer ‘EBZ’ Lembe got into a war of words with hotel staff after his stream viewers bombarded the phone lines asking to speak with him. When it comes to IRL [in real-life] streaming, viewers can usually interact by messing with text-to-speech donations or sharing media that will prompt some confused looks from passers-by. Others, however, take up the mantle of trolling streamers by calling restaurants, stores, and hotels that they may be eating at, shopping in, or staying at. That fate fell upon EBZ, a YouTube IRL streamer, when viewers figured out what hotel he was in, began calling reception, and asking for him – causing anger from the staff. 600During his September 23 broadcast, the IRL streamer had been sat in a hotel in New York when his viewers began calling the building and asking for him. Of course, that frustrated hotel staff who kept answering the calls. “Sir, what are you doing sir?” asked one worker, “this guy is calling for you.” Instead of answering, EBZ told him to hang up the call – prompting further annoyance from the staff member. “Ok,” he replied, before stating that calling the cops wasn’t out of the question. This immediately sparked fury from the streamer who questioned if he was being threatened because of the phone calls. “Are you warning me? Are you threatening me?” he asked, before exploding. “Ok, do what the fuck you need to do bitch. Fucking idiot. What, are you bored at work? Did you just threaten me? Did you just threaten me? I fucking hope not – idiot.” Instead of continuing the confrontation, the streamer headed away from the desk and went to sit down – visibly still frustrated by the interaction that he had just encountered. Whether he suffered any repercussions from his arguments with the hotel staff is unknown considering his channel doesn’t hold streams and he hasn’t issued any update about the situation on Twitter.

  • IRL streamer embarrassed after failing miserably to give blind couple directions – Dexerto

IRL streamer embarrassed after failing miserably to give blind couple directions Twitch: DKaneIRL Twitch streamer Dustin ‘DKane’ Morris was left red in the face after giving directions to a blind couple by pointing and not realizing his mistake until much later. DKane, who is the brother of popular streamer Chance ‘Sodapoppin’ Morris, gained relative popularity on Twitch back in May – amassing over a thousand subs. That quick growth allowed him to finally quit his day job, a moment that went viral when he broadcasted it live to his audience, and become a full-time streamer. Since then, he’s continued IRL streaming with regularity, and gave his viewers an incredibly embarassing moment to savour when he tried to help out a blind couple looking to find their way around a mall. DKane had been out shopping during his July 21 stream when he was stopped by a blind couple. who asked for directions to the pretzel shop. Initially, the streamer was a little lost but took some time to figure things out. Once he had his bearings, he quickly pointed out where they needed to go and left the couple to go on their way. The streamer walked away, oblivious to his error until his cameraman pointed out the embarrassing slip-up. “I am so fucking dumb dude, holy shit,” said a distraught DKane, with his head in his hands. “I’m so embarrassed. I just did that on stream too – that’s so bad dude. I literally just pointed to a blind man.” Once he had realized his mistake, and his chat started spamming laughter at him, DKane tried to figure out what he should have done instead of pointing. “How do you? Wait, how would I have told him where to go?” he asked his cameraman, before finally coming up with an answer. “Turned him? I’m serious. Like wait – I don’t even want to talk about it because I’m dumb.” The streamer even tried to get an opinion on what he’d just done from a cookie vendor – explaining that it was purely an accident but he felt bad. Of course, the seller agreed with him and admitted that they’d feel pretty bad if they had done it too but recognized that it was a mistake. Despite the slip-up, DKane carried on with his stream for a few more hours and managed to avoid any further mishaps.

  • IRL streamer EBZ goes crazy at parking attendant for doing her job – Dexerto

IRL streamer EBZ goes crazy at parking attendant for doing her job YouTube IRL streamer Ebenezer ‘EBZ’ Lembe turned his fury onto a bemused parking attendant while streaming and couldn’t let it lie when he drove away. EBZ gained popularity as a streamer after being a part of Ice Poseidon‘s infamous CX crew – popping up every now and again with hilarious antics that usually stem from some sort of rage. After splitting off from the streaming group, he’s created a niche for himself on YouTube despite turning that rage at viewers for their clips – threatening to sue them – and even his housemates – by saying he will fight them. Yet, he took that anger one step further during a driving stream when he couldn’t find a suitable place to park. During his July 14 stream, the YouTuber had been driving around looking for a parking spot when he stopped and was informed that he couldn’t park where he was. That set him off as he turned his anger onto an unsuspecting parking attendant. “That should be the first statement, where I actually can park instead of telling where I can’t park,” started the streamer. “Just tell me where I can park since you’re so smart about it bitch, shut the fuck up – shut the fuck up.” However, EBZ couldn’t leave the argument there as he carried on ranting to himself and repeating his previous statements over and over. Of course, it’s not the first time that EBZ has left fans confused during a broadcast from his car – even though the road rage is a new one. Back in April, viewers pleaded with the streamer to stop driving as he appeared to be falling asleep behind the wheel. Thankfully for the streamer, and his viewers, he was able to make it to his destination but the scenes were clearly unnerving. Considering the trouble he’s run into while streaming from his car, it might be a good idea for EBZ to re-consider any future broadcasts when he’s on the road – especially when it could land him in more trouble than its worth.

  • IRL streamer EBZ pulled over by cops again just days after $700 fine – Dexerto

IRL streamer EBZ pulled over by cops again just days after $700 fine IRL YouTube streamer Ebenezer ‘EBZ’ Lembe found himself pulling into the side of the road once again at the instruction of police officers, just over a week after receiving a $700 fine for speeding. IRL streaming lets those who broadcast leave their homes and head out into the world, bringing their audience along with them to explore the sights and sounds of the world through the eyes of their favorite content creator. EBZ has been using his IRL broadcasts to drive around the city of Los Angeles, but has had a number of run-ins with law enforcement officers, and less than a fortnight after receiving a hefty fine for speeding, the streamer saw the flashing blue lights in his rear-view mirror again as they pulled him over. While streaming on January 9, EBZ was driving around the Californian city with his camera facing out towards the road. The streamer was dodging and weaving through traffic as he sped around, eventually coming to a set of traffic lights. He could be seen speeding up behind slower cars, then cutting across lanes to get past them, flying up behind a truck pulling a trailer, veering to the left to get past it, before speeding up and cutting back in front. Just as the maneuver took place, what looks like a police car passes him going the opposite direction, with EBZ coming to a stop at a set of traffic lights. It seems he knew what was coming, telling his stream: “Oh, I’m f**ked,” while stationary at the junction. As he turned left onto a new street, the unmistakable noise of police sirens fired up behind him, with the streamer saying “Oh yeah,” as he pulled into the side of the road. After stopping the car, EBZ quickly turned off the stream, choosing not to record his conversation with the police officer who was heading for his window. Clip starts at 5:13 for mobile users. EBZ found himself parked on the road, getting told off by a police officer back on December 27, when he was caught driving at 90miles-per-hour in a 65 mph zone. That time, it earned him a $700 ticket, and almost getting a second from the same officer for not having license plates on his vehicle. Whether the streamer was forced to pay $700 on this occasion remains to be seen.

  • IRL streamer disgusted by “praying” man who wasn’t really praying at all – Dexerto

IRL streamer disgusted by “praying” man who wasn’t really praying at all One IRL Twitch streamer received an unexpected surprise while walking the streets of Tokyo, Japan during a night out on the town, thanks to a kneeling bystander. Although Twitch is often hailed for the unexpected moments that get caught on stream (such as viewers trolling a backpacker or a man falling through a frozen lake), one broadcaster witnessed a moment that quickly made him turn away. Japan-based native Australian “robcdee” often shares his nightly excursions with his 15.9k followers on Twitch, getting into various shenanigans and giving viewers a first-hand glimpse of Tokyo’s bustling nightlife scene through his camera lens. However, one of his nightly walks in the city featured an unintended act of exposure, which unfolded as the streamer was making his way down an alley. While he walked, robcdee passed a few groups of people standing and speaking, before coming upon a man kneeling on the sidewalk with a few unidentifiable objects in front of him. Innocently enough, the broadcaster assumed the man to be praying, due to his posture — but it turns out that he wasn’t actually praying, at all. Instead, the bystander was urinating, which, thankfully, can’t really be seen on camera, but can be assumed due to robcdee’s hilarious reaction upon realizing what was actually happening. “Look at this. He’s so pious. He’s praying,” he announced as he passed by the man before interrupting himself, turning the camera away toward the other side of the street. “Oh my god! Please tell me you didn’t see anything.” After asking his chat if anything sensitive was caught on camera, robcdee went on to describe the man, lightening the mood for such an uncomfortable (and unexpected) situation. “The way he was looking down… the biggest s**t-eating grin, right?” he continued. “Like, ‘Ayyye, boy!’” This wouldn’t be the first time the broadcaster has caught an unanticipated moment on stream: in fact, robcdee caught a few stuntmen jumping over a drunk citizen with their bikes in November 2019, leading to a humorous interaction with the “scared” local. While his January excursion wasn’t as wholesome, it certainly made for an interesting moment in robcdee’s already unique array of content.

  • IRL streamer “disgusted” as random man ‘grabs’ and harasses her in public – Dexerto

IRL streamer “disgusted” as random man ‘grabs’ and harasses her in public A Twitch IRL (in real life) streamer says she was “disgusted” after a random individual appeared to harass her during a live broadcast, while walking the streets of Japan. IRL streaming is one of the most popular categories of cintent on Twitch, as the random nature of the broadcast can lead to some crazy, unexpected incidents, but equally, some scary moments too. Streamer ‘EllieGato‘ began her adventure on the platform on June 8, hoping to showcase her travels to the world, but was left visibly shocked after experiencing physical harassment while streaming in Tokyo on June 29. While interacting with her Twitch chat, a man appeared to take a peek at her phone screen before seemingly attempting to get under her umbrella, with a smirk on his face. The stranger didn’t stop there, apparently attempting to grab the streamer’s arm on more than one occasion, leaving her shook. “What are you doing?!” she shouted. “The fuck? He just started following me. Oh my god – I feel so disgusted right now.” The man made little attempt to hide his actions before quickly disappearing out of shot, with the streamer revealing the whole encounter occurred on the doorstep of a local police station. Ellie said: “I was like ‘What the fuck – get away’. He walked up and grabbed my arm. I was right in front of the police station. Oh my god.” Despite being clearly stunned by the incident, she quickly put it behind her and continued to broadcast her adventures in the country. The decision to do so highlights her thick skin, something that will definitely be needed should she continue to IRL stream on Twitch, but of course the behavior from the man in question was unacceptable and potentially unlawful, although Ellie doesn’t seem to want to take the situation further.

  • IRL streamer confronts scammers after being pickpocketed – Dexerto

IRL streamer confronts scammers after being pickpocketed As one of the net’s most popular live streaming platforms, Twitch is a hive for a variety of content across the board – but some of this content includes shocking subject matter. Although Twitch boasts a slew of different categories, its IRL streaming section is one of its most popular genres, with streamers opting to broadcast their daily lives for all to see. However, these broadcasts can capture unexpected moments as they unfold in real time, as seen during Megan “megancs” Soh’s October 18 stream. 600https://www.instagram.com/p/B028kkoHV5M/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link Megan’s trip to Berlin, Germany was interrupted by a group of bystanders, who quickly crowded around the 23-year-old and two other travelers as they walked down a street. After begging the group to stop, one of the travelers explained that they were scammers, known for using their crowding tactics to pick pockets. This caused Megan to check her own belongings, noticing that the scammers had stolen her wallet amid the kerfuffle. While some would merely call the police rather than incite a confrontation, the streamer made her way back to the scammers, demanding that they return her personal effects. “Give it back,” she commanded. “I just want to check,” one of scammers appeared to say. “She’s crazy!” Thankfully, Megan’s money wasn’t inside of her wallet – but that didn’t stop her from being exasperated by the ordeal. “First day, and it’s these kind of people,” she bemoaned. “Luckily my passport wasn’t in my wallet. …I scolded him! I said, ‘Give it back.’” This wouldn’t be the first time a streamer has been pickpocketed on camera, either: streamer Giannie Lee’s boyfriend was also stolen from during their trip in London, with her camera catching the thief pilfering his wallet from his back pocket. However, the thief later “returned” the wallet, claiming that he’d found it – but it’s more likely that he realized he was being filmed. https://www.dexerto.com/entertainment/pickpocket-returns-wallet-after-being-caught-red-handed-twitch-irl-stream-643296Thanks to the advent of live streaming, it’s easy to catch thieves in the act – although it certainly doesn’t soothe the awful feeling of being stolen from, nor being the target of a group of scammers preying on unsuspecting tourists.

  • IRL streamer has creepy encounter with fan – Dexerto

IRL streamer has creepy encounter with fan Yunicorn, TwitchThanks to the advent of IRL streaming, internet personalities can broadcast their daily lives for all to see – but sometimes, these streams can capture unexpected and downright creepy moments as they unfold in real time. Popular IRL streamer “Yunicorn” was the unfortunate victim of one such creepy moment during a broadcast on September 20, after she was confronted by a fan during her night out on the town in New York. However, this particular fan wasn’t content with merely being an enthusiast of the streamer’s – instead, he hoped to develop a “friendship” with her, and wouldn’t take “no” for an answer. 600https://www.instagram.com/p/B2T-yBMn-oi/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_linkA cringe-inducing clip from Yunicorn’s stream shows her attempting to part ways with the fan after their meeting, with the fan asking if he could see the streamer “Tomorrow – Sunday.” Obviously uncomfortable with the situation, Yunicorn answered that she had an appointment that day, with the fan finally waving goodbye to the camera – but that wasn’t the end of their interaction. Instead, the fan ended up following the streamer after she left her seat, causing her to confront him about his behavior. “Okay, so you’re not gonna go back to your house?” she asked. “You’re gonna just follow me?” “…let’s get some coffee,” the fan answered, refusing to leave her side and even sitting beside her on a park bench shortly thereafter for an uncomfortably long time. Eventually, Yunicorn made her escape, asking the fan to “wait” at the bench while she continued with her evening. The fan’s feelings for the streamer were later made clear in a broadcast of his own, where he admitted that he wanted to “smash that ass.” Read More: CoD streamer humiliated by angry father – “I know how to do sex, though,” he continued, giving his audience a demonstration of the act in full view of the camera. Whether famous or not, it’s no secret that people don’t enjoy being followed – but internet personalities are especially prone to interactions with overenthusiastic fans, with even the likes of Felix “PewDiePie” Kjellberg asking fans to stop showing up at his house. Needless to say, it’s never a good idea to follow someone around without their consent – even if they’re being polite about it.

  • IRL streamer confronted by furious stranger over his cigarette smoke – Dexerto

IRL streamer confronted by furious stranger over his cigarette smoke Twitch: cwattA Twitch personality’s stream was interrupted when a man exploding with anger confronted him over his cigarette, showing the incredibly unpredictable nature of IRL broadcasts. IRL streams are exciting for the unpredictability of being in the real world as you never know what can happen. But for the same reasons, things can also get scary pretty quickly. A Twitch personality’s February 1 broadcast became an example of that when a stranger raged out over his cigarette. The smoker was left stunned over the man’s anger towards his habit. Streamer ‘cwatt’ was walking around the streets of New York when a man suddenly approached him. The stranger held out his hand, and motioned for the Twitch personality to hand over his cigarette. The furious citizen then began to scream and swear at the personality, until he gave him his smoke. “Take it. Jesus Christ!” he said, handing it over. He then turned around to see the man explode in a rant full of expletives. While it’s unclear what he was saying, it seems he wasn’t a fan of secondhand smoke. “What the f**k just happened? Holy sh*t!” the streamer told his chat. Another passerby asked him what he had done, so he replied, “I did nothing. He wanted my cigarette!” Still stunned by the exchange, cwatt exclaimed, “What the f**k?. Goddammit. That’s going to go on LSF!” referencing Reddit’s LivestreamFails section which hosts Twitch clips. “Why was he so angry?” he asked, before breaking into laughter. As the Twitch streamer continued to walk down the sidewalk, he clarified the incident to his viewers. “I wasn’t actually scared. I just felt really awkward. I just wanted to get away from the situation. I wasn’t actually nervous!” Replying to someone in his chat, he said, “I just kept walking? True. Let’s be honest, he’s insane. I could’ve beat his a**. But I don’t want to f**king fight someone in the middle of the street!” While it’s still not entirely clear what exactly the man was upset about, he wanted the streamer’s cigarette and wasn’t going to take no for an answer. Regardless, it’s an example of how quickly an IRL broadcast can be turned into a tense situation. In the end, Cwatt didn’t seem too phased by the incident, and continued on after the uncomfortable exchange.

  • IRL streamer confronted by police for ‘bullying’ homeless woman – Dexerto

IRL streamer confronted by police for ‘bullying’ homeless woman IRL streamer Sherwin was confronted by Metropolitan Police in London for “bullying” a homeless woman after calling the authorities over a missing Oyster card. ‘In-Real-Life’ streams often see content creators take to the streets, and on Tuesday, November 26, Sherwin took to the streets of England’s capital city in clown makeup, meeting a homeless woman named Charlie at the start of his broadcast. After some discussion about her current needs, Sherwin offered to give the woman his Oyster card, which is used on the city’s Underground system for travel, with the woman asking him if he was sure before taking it, while the streamer offered to go with her to check it worked. Sherwin then decided that he had made a mistake, confronting the woman and asking for the Oyster card back, who explained that she had lost the Oyster card he had given her. The streamer then decided to call the police, stating that he had been “robbed and mugged,” before telling police that she was selling it for drugs, and he thought he needed help. Shortly after his call, London’s Metropolitan Police appeared on the scene, talking to both parties involved about the incident as they attempted to straighten the facts of the situation. After giving his side of the story, the female officer in attendance stated: “I’m confused though because you’ve told me that you gave it to her,” with Sherwin replying: “I wanted to test her if she needed it, the cash.” Eventually, the police confirmed that no offense had been committed, and a male officer attending the scene gave the streamer a stern talking to about his behavior, telling him that he was bullying her. “This is not a crime,” he told Sherwin. “You’ve given her the Oyster card. Why have you got this contraption? Why are you filming everything? Why are you dressed up like this? Were you holding out this Oyster card with the intention of getting more views or social media status?” “To be honest, that’s how it appears. You’re wasting my time, you’re wasting my colleague’s time. This poor lady is on the streets, she’s homeless. Have a bit of respect, please. She doesn’t have a choice. First, you started the whole story saying I gave her my Oyster card, now you’ve said to me that you held up your card in her face and said; ‘Do you need an Oyster card?’ Do you understand how that comes across to a homeless person?” “It’s like going up to a dog and holding up some food, and please, I’m not comparing her to a dog, I’m using an analogy. That’s effectively what you’re doing to people. These people have lives to lead too, now go and lead your own life, and don’t pick on others, it’s bullying. Grow up.” Sherwin, who regularly streams on YouTube, was forced to leave without the Oyster card, telling his stream that he had made an error in letting her have it in the first place. No charges were filed against either the streamer of the woman, but Sherwin certainly got an intense lecturer from the officer over his behavior.

  • IRL Streamer CJ Gets Fright of His Life After Stream Sniper Pretends to Mug Him – Dexerto

IRL Streamer CJ Gets Fright of His Life After Stream Sniper Pretends to Mug Him CJayride – TwitterNotable Twitch streamer CJ was in the middle of an IRL stream when he was confronted with a supposed mugger. Stream snipers are a definite probability for those looking to stream their daily activities – and CJ is no exception. Known for his IRL streams and large Twitch following, CJ was conducting another livestream as per usual when a stranger confronted him. The individual could be heard off camera demanding CJ’s money in a threatening tone. “Give me all the money in your pocket.” CJ replied that he didn’t carry cash in an attempt to ward off the supposed robber. Lucky for him, the stranger was just a stream sniper, who quickly revealed his true intentions with good humor. “I’m just fucking with you. I’m a stream sniper!” CJ embraced the sniper with a friendly handshake, seemingly relieved at the turn of events. After a brief message to the chat, wherein he declared that streamer JakenBake was ‘gay,’ the sniper walked away to get into his vehicle. “Oh… make sure you get some chicken, man. What’s your name?” “Kevin,” (the sniper appeared to say.) Lucky for CJ, this interaction ended with smiles. His chat appeared to be thoroughly convinced of the mugging, posting the Jebaited emote upon the sniper’s self-reveal. This event follows CJ’s departure from Taiwan, where he stirred up controversy for hosting a party that shone Taiwanese women in a negative light. Now, CJ is back in the states, and making unlikely connections with stream snipers during his IRL excursions.

IRL streamer confronted by angry stranger who didn’t want to be filmed Sherwindo, TwitchIRL streamer Sherwindo had a scary moment on the streets of London as he broadcast his walk through the English capital, after being confronted by an aggressive stranger who threatened the Twitch personality. The multi-platform streamer was wandering around outside coffee and sandwich shop Pret a Manger during his October 6 broadcast, when he accidentally turned his camera onto a gaggle of men standing around on the footpath. Sherwindo quickly realized one of them had taken personal offense to the camera being turned his way, and walked on, expressing to his loyal viewers that he might be in a bit of trouble. “Oh my god, Romanian gypsies. Man, the look on that guy’s face. Uh oh, uh oh, uh oh,” the streamer said. The stranger followed him with a disgusted look on his face, waving his finger and demanding he shut off the broadcast. “No video! No no, no video. I will call the police!” Read more: PewDiePie explains why Pokémon confused him – The streamer looked at the stranger’s hands, and when he saw no phone in sight, he seemed to have a lift in courage: “Call the police. Where’s your phone? I’m filming myself!” he yelled, before adding a few extra thoughts in Persian. Funnily enough, as soon as Sherwindo stepped into the Pret a Manger to escape the uncomfortable situation with the man outside, another stranger spotted the Twitch streamer’s camera setup, and yelled out as well. This time it was in more of a joking manner, however, which elicited a wide smile from the filming star. “Hey, a camera! Hello, hello!” the coffee-wielding stranger said as his face filled the screen for a moment, and the IRL streamer breathed a sigh of relief. Sherwindo’s uncomfortable moment near the coffee shop wasn’t the only time the streamer has been approached while out and about this week. During an earlier October 3 broadcast, he was approached by a couple in the streets with a “really great deal.” “It’s a digital MP3, you can play it in your car, bluetooth, everything yeah?” the would-be salesman said, which sparked a laugh from Sherwindo before he turned around and set off running. “Leave me alone! I have 58p on my debit card, everyone is trying to use me!” The multi-platform star has also had troubles at home recently due to his streaming lifestyle, after his sister told his mother that he had been filming their conversations. His mom beat him, yelled at him, and pulled his hair—all while on-camera—which left Sherwindo in tears.

  • IRL streamer captures painful faceplanting accident on camera – Dexerto

IRL streamer captures painful faceplanting accident on camera One IRL Twitch streamer was left worried for his female friend’s safety after he accidentally caught her painful accident live on camera during his June 22 broadcast. IRL streams are as real as it gets, which means they can be unpredictable and erratic at times. They also sometimes highlight people making bad decisions. From Twitch star Dr Disrespect streaming in a public bathroom, to a streamer eliciting donations to play a racist alert message on a public train, IRL streams capture the ‘very best’ in human behavior. But it’s particularly hard to watch when someone gets hurt. When IRL streams go wrong Streamer ‘EJipt’ was broadcasting an IRL stream when things suddenly went horribly wrong. In the clip, the streamer was presumably hanging out with a group of his friends, getting ready to jump into nearby water using a rope swing. One female was being instructed on where to grab onto the rope and tight to hold it, before she took off and completely missed the water by a couple of feet. 600The female let go of the rope but completely missed her landing, and fell face first onto the ground. It looked horribly painful, and the IRL streamer reacted by putting his camera down and running to her to see if she was okay. It’s hard to know what went wrong. Did she grab the rope too low, was she not forward enough on the platform? Thankfully, she is okay The Twitch streamer allegedly jumped onto Discord after the stream ended, and told his worried viewers that “everything is okay” before detailing her injuries. “She’s just scrapped and bruised, so we’re gonna take care of her”. Thank God that the girl is okay – that looked nasty. If nothing else, this serves a lesson that anything can happen at any time, so it’s always a good idea to stay vigilant.

  • IRL streamer casually picked up by Mayor while traveling across Australia – Dexerto

IRL streamer casually picked up by Mayor while traveling across Australia IRL Twitch streamer Trevor ‘Hitch’ Daneliuk couldn’t believe his luck when the mayor of the town he was visiting in Australia offered him a ride during his broadcast. While plenty of Twitch’s IRL [in-real-life] streamers just hang out at home, chatting with viewers and reacting to videos – some do actually venture outside and create content while traveling. One such streamer is Hitch. The 25-year-old Canadian can regularly be found hitchhiking his way across a country for thousands of viewers. His most recent trek took him across Japan and saw the streamer run into some hilarious and some embarrassing incidents. Now, though, Hitch has made the small jump across to Australia where he’s experiencing more heartwarming encounters. 600During his July 12 stream, Hitch had been looking for a ride a few hours into his broadcast from Potato Point. As he waited by a set of traffic lights, the streamer began striking up conversation with passers-by in the hopes of securing a ride. He struck gold when one detail-filled car pulled up alongside him and quizzed him on where he was going. As the stranger offered him a lift, Hitch obliged and grabbed his gear before introducing himself properly. It didn’t take long for Twitch’s everyday explorer to find out that the woman was actually the mayor of the town he was in, and could take him a short way up the road. Of course, it’s not every day that Hitch runs into a politician, even if it’s just at the local level like a small town mayor, so he didn’t pass up the chance to ask questions. The pair immediately struck up a rapport after Hitch asked about her history of being the mayor, if she had always wanted to be in politics, and other queries about the town. Unfortunately for the Canadian, he wasn’t in the company of the Mayor for all too long, getting dropped off five minutes later. While she offered to give him a second lift later on in the day, if he still needed help, the streamer found another kind soul to take him on his way up to Nowra, New South Wales before ultimately trying to make it to Brisbane. As with any Hitch journey, he’s going to be sticking around for a little while longer yet, so who knows what other random encounters he will run into on his trek across Australia.

  • IRL streamer can’t stop laughing after he’s trolled by stream sniper – Dexerto

IRL streamer can’t stop laughing after he’s trolled by stream sniper Twitch: HitchAn IRL streamer’s broadcast was interrupted by a perfectly-timed stream snipe that left the Twitch personality in absolute stitches. In-real-life streams are fun to watch as viewers never know what the personality is going to run into. The unpredictable nature of the real world makes for exciting entertainment. However, sometimes tricky audience goers can use the format to their advantage and find where the broadcast is happening to crash it. That is what happened to a hitch-hiking Twitch streamer. IRL streamer’s broadcast hilariously sniped IRL streamer ‘Hitch’ is currently hitchhiking across Europe, and is documenting his trip to Twitchcon. The annual event is being held in Amsterdam, and runs from May 2 to 3. While in Croatia during his March 2 stream, the personality was walking down the street and talking to his chat when he noticed someone in the distance holding a sign. As the person got closer, it was revealed to be a viewer hilariously holding a piece of cardboard that read “SUB for FREE with TWITCH PRIME.” The streaming personality burst into laughter, and couldn’t stop as the moment was so absurd. “Oh, it was hilarious!” he told his chat, before explaining, “Guy was walking down the street carrying a cardboard sign with ‘subscribe for free with Twitch Prime’ on it!” Soon after, the Twitch personality received a subscription and exclaimed “Yay, it worked!” before praising the stream snipe for actually taking effort and being well executed. “See, he put work into that. Because he like wrote out that sign and everything. Had to find the road I was on. Make sure he was walking against so he could flash the sign. Oh man!” he said. When a viewer asked who the man was, he replied “I have no idea! They were just walking past me!” As long as streamers broadcast in the real world, there will be viewers looking to find a way to get involved. Thankfully for Hitch, the snipe was pretty wholesome and left him in tears of laughter. The personality continues to grow his audience as he takes his chat with him around the world. At the time of writing, he’s amassed over 80k followers to his channel on the streaming platform.

  • IRL streamer captures epic GTA V style police chase on camera – Dexerto

IRL streamer captures epic GTA V style police chase on camera Freepik / Rockstar GamesThanks to the advent of IRL streaming, anyone with streaming equipment can broadcast their outings for a live audience to see – which can result in some hilarious and unexpected moments, as evidenced by one Twitch streamer’s July broadcast. While many IRL streamers broadcast their everyday routines or nights out on the town, streamer ‘SoWeQ’ decided to share his walk down a road in the middle of the Nordic countryside – a decision that ended up being a bit more adventful than a mere hike outdoors. SoWeQ and a friend were making their way down a narrow road beside a set of train tracks when they heard police sirens, with the streamer urging their friend to get off the road, should police cars come speeding down the way. This IRL streamer wasn’t in a game of GTA V – although it sure seemed like it. As it so happens, SoWeQ’s decision to stream caught an actual police chase on camera, as a motorcycle came careening down the path with a law enforcement vehicle in tow just behind them. “Holy shit!” SoWeQ laughingly exclaimed as the two sped past. “That guy, he better be running, man! That guy better be running! Jesus Christ!” The moment quickly went viral across sites like Reddit, with some users finding the ridiculous scene like something out of GTA V – but that wouldn’t be the only “GTA V-esque” moment captured on a Twitch stream, by far. An IRL streamer was broadcasting his bike ride in August 2018 when he similarly became part of a high-speed police chase – but this time, his involvement in the action wasn’t as a mere bystander. Instead, they nearly got run over by the offending vehicle, after hearing a Corvette revving its engine behind him: the car quickly sped past him and blasted through an intersection just ahead of the streamer, shortly followed by a series of police cars, sirens blaring. Considering Twitch’s incredibly wide and varied userbase, it comes as no surprise that moments like these are caught on camera from time to time, giving viewers at home a huge shock when they happen – although the streamers are likely the ones nearly having a heart attack!

  • IRL streamer breaks down after losing €1,000 in San Francisco – Dexerto

IRL streamer breaks down after losing €1,000 in San Francisco Twitch/jinnyttyKorean streamer ‘Jinny’s’ day in San Francisco, California ended in disaster after losing her purse that contained over $1,000 – and her ID cards. While the IRL streamer was at a drugstore trying to make a purchase, she discovered she was missing her purse, and it was not in her bag. “I have my passport, phone and everything – just the purse,” Jinny told her chat while walking down the aisles of the store, retracing her steps. Eventually, the streamer headed back outside in an attempt to find it. Just as things were looking grim, Jinny found her wallet laying on the ground, much to her relief. “Oh my God,” she cried and rushed to pick it up. “I found it!” she said with a wide grin on her face. Unfortunately for Jinny, her brief moment of happiness turned to sorrow the second she looked inside. “My one-thousand Euros are gone. It’s f**king gone,” she revealed, showing the barren innards of her wallet. The emotional streamer endured a lot in a matter of minutes: losing her purse, finding her wallet, and then discovering it was empty all while in a foreign country. As the streamer teared up, viewers started to send her money, including a massive $520 donation from someone named ‘Kaz’. Perhaps still too emotional to thank the donor right away, Jinny continued to sob and wondered, “Why would anyone take my Korean ID card?” While the whole incident was a roller-coaster of emotions, the streamer managed to pull herself together and head back to her hotel to cancel her cards. This wasn’t the only crazy incident to happen during Jinny’s Sam Fransisco trip, either. Earlier in the day, the streamer and her companion ‘yugwha0901’ were confronted by a homeless man, who called the two “b*tches.” Hopefully, the rest of Jinny’s trip can be more relaxing, in spite of her concerning loss in a foreign country.

  • IRL streamer has calmest reaction ever to almost being run over – Dexerto

IRL streamer has calmest reaction ever to almost being run over IRL Twitch streamer Trevor ‘Hitch’ Daneliuk had a close call with a passing car during his broadcast, and his reaction to almost being run over was probably the calmest you’ll ever see. Because in real life streaming merges the real world with the digital one, it’s unsurprising that madness can ensue because life stops for nobody – not even streamers. Infamous hitchhiker Hitch has found this out the hard way a few times, but a situation during his October 17 broadcast left viewers with their mouths wide open in shock. The calmest reaction ever The IRL streamer was broadcasting from a busy city in Malaysia when he decided to cross the road. Suddenly, a taxi sped around the corner at full speed – right into Hitch’s line of sight. Luckily, the driver saw the hitchhiker just in time and slammed on the brakes. The streamer noticed this, and instead of being freaked out as most would be, instead let out a simple “oop!” before making his way to the other side of the street. The taxi driver honked in protest, but the Canadian simply kept walking as his Twitch chat exploded with messages such as “Holy sh*t!”, “OMG!”, and “You almost just got f*cked up!” (Mobile viewers, click here to view the clip.) While most people would probably link hitchhiking to serial killers and murderers, the 25-year-old has no fear and has traveled across 32 different countries and been hooked up with over 2,500 rides, according to his Instagram bio. Now that’s some serious dedication. You can only imagine how much money the streamer has saved on-air and bus fair by traveling this way too – it’s kind of genius. Hitch currently boasts over 72,000 followers on his Twitch channel at this time of writing, proving that while many might not dare to catch a ride with a stranger themselves, they’re definitely curious about it. The IRL streamer is currently traveling across Asia, with Malaysia being just one of the many stops the Canadian is planning to make across his journey.

  • IRL streamer berates viewers for not donating “enough” money during 7-hour broadcast – Dexerto

IRL streamer berates viewers for not donating “enough” money during 7-hour broadcast As one of the net’s most popular live streaming platforms, Twitch sees a slew of unexpected and sometimes downright shocking moments – as well as some incidents that make viewers seethe with rage, as evidenced by one streamer’s June 28 broadcast. Many streamers across the net accept donations during their broadcasts, as a means for their fanbase to help support their stream in a concrete way, with some streamers getting massive donations in the thousands. However, one streamer didn’t receive such gratuity from his audience – a development that led him to effectively “shame” his viewers for failing to donate the “right” amount. 600The streamer (whose name is currently unknown) was broadcasting his night on the town when he not-so-subtly reminded his viewers to donate, in order to make up for the cost of going out. “Guys, we got a donation goal, dude, we’ve been spending a lot of money tonight,” he began. “Fucking, consider donating – consider donating to this fucking thing, dude. Consider donating right now… help us out with the costs for tonight, man.” However, his audience didn’t take the hint, leading the streamer to berate his viewers for only donating $40 during his seven-hour broadcast. “I don’t know what to say, dude,” he reprimanded, holding up his hand in defeat. “Come on, bro. I’ve been streaming for fucking, like, seven hours or more. Forty bucks.” [Timestamp: 4:25] While this IRL streamer’s entitled attitude likely didn’t help his case, other streamers have received jaw-dropping amounts of money during their broadcasts, with one streamer receiving $7k in donations during a June 24 stream. Twitch personality ‘QTCinderella’ was left stunned after receiving the massive donation, as if trying to comprehend the incredible amount before bursting into laughter. She wouldn’t be the only streamer to receive a huge donation out of the blue, either; popular Korean streamer ‘HAchubby’ even received $1,600 during a broadcast, with the donator asking her to “buy a nice laptop” with the cash. While these streamers were left shocked by their unexpected donations, it looks like our IRL streamer ended up getting the short end of the stick – and a sour reputation due to his behavior toward his audience.

  • IRL streamer ‘Bjorn’ attacked by a woman live on YouTube stream – Dexerto

IRL streamer ‘Bjorn’ attacked by a woman live on YouTube stream A popular IRL streamer who goes by ‘Bjorn’ was viciously attacked at a train station during a live broadcast, continuing to film throughout the assault. The incident, which is believe to have taken place at Roskilde station in Denmark, sees a woman tell Bjorn to stop filming, but as he shows no indication of complying, she grabs him. The woman proceeds to kick and punch Bjorn, and at one point looks like she is trying to knock him to the floor. The fight and the moments building up to it has been deleted by Bjorn, at the request of the woman who attacked him, as is shown in another clip. Because of this, it is unknown what caused the altercation, although the woman appears to possible be inebriated, though this cannot be confirmed. Bjorn makes little attempt to fight back, and no one else in the station intervenes, until another woman outside tries to asks what the problem is, but is ignored. At the start of the clip is cut off, before the woman attacks, a donation reads “would you go back in to see what happens”, suggesting that possibly a previous altercation had already taken place. IRL streamers often purposefully instigate fights or attempt to troll people in the general public to bait a reaction from them, resulting in entertaining content for their viewers. Just recently, another IRL streamer known as Yuber antagonized a group of drug dealers, who chased and beat him, smashing his front teeth with a bottle.

  • IRL streamer awkwardly rejects drug deal mid-broadcast – Dexerto

IRL streamer awkwardly rejects drug deal mid-broadcast Twitch streamer ‘PENTA’ was left laughing after he was awkwardly propositioned by a drug-dealer during the middle of his broadcast. Wandering the streets and streaming your adventures on Twitch can often lead to some hilarious results, as this awkward encounter with a stranger undoubtedly reaffirmed. From fights breaking out in the middle of various broadcasts to giant rats invading stores, there’s never any shortage of entertainment out of exciting category on Twitch. One Twitch streamer known for his IRL showcases as well as some GTA Role-Playing shenanigans, hilariously broadcasted a moment that he won’t soon forget. In a November 17 stream, PENTA shared that he would “drinking in Austin” throughout his latest IRL broadcast. Taking to the streets, he happened upon a stranger that reached out with an odd request. “You’re not recording now, right?” They questioned before imploring the streamer to “turn [the camera] off and talk to [them].” “I mean, can we not talk with it on?” he responded, somewhat laughing off the awkwardness of the situation at hand in a very public setting. “What do you have to say? You can whisper it,” PENTA suggested as he leaned in to hear what the perplexing stranger simply had to get off of their chest. Amused by what he had just heard, the streamer immediately began to walk away as he responded that, “no, I don’t need any coke, thank you.” Continuing to laugh and shake his head as he walked off, it’s safe to assume that the streamer had no clue a hardcore drug was about to be offered in the midst of a worldwide livestream. The streamer continued his adventures after the awkward encounter, walking through the streets of Austin for another few hours alongside thousands of live viewers and a handful of amusing companions along the way. Certainly not the only awkward encounter of late, at least PENTA managed to stay on his feet after the startling conversation, unlike this unfortunate streamer.

  • IRL streamer banned from Twitch after flirting with staff at TwitchCon – Dexerto

IRL streamer banned from Twitch after flirting with staff at TwitchCon Yuber / TwitchIRL streamer ‘Yuber’ has been handed a 14-day suspension for “invasion of privacy”, after he approached members of Twitch staff and asked for their number at TwitchCon 2019. Yuber, who previously moved to YouTube streaming and has been involved in a number of viral incidents during his IRL streams, was exploring the area around the convention in San Diego. He has already tried and failed at picking up women on his travels, with another clip going viral days before, but this time he inadvertently tried it with Twitch staff. He was streaming his activities when he approached two women sitting at a bar, and began by stating “I’m going to be honest, I need a girlfriend.” One of the women responds, “I really appreciate you but I don’t want to be on camera right now because I’ve been working at the convention all day, can we pick this up tomorrow?” Yuber then goes on to ask for her number so they can meet the next day, and when it’s explained that they will be on the floor of the convention, it dawns on Yuber that he is, in fact, speaking to members of Twitch staff. After confirming this, Yuber seems to make a run for it, cutting off the conversation immediately. On September 28, Yuber Tweeted to confirm that he had been suspended from the platform for 14 days, under the community guideline violation of invasion of privacy. Although it wasn’t confirmed to him, the streamer believes it “has to be the staff member clip,” but is confused as to why this amounts to an invasion of privacy when he “was outside in the public the entire time.” Suspended for 14 days on Twitch due to “”Invasion of Privacy””. Has to be the staff member clip. I was outside in the public the entire time. Unless they tell me something, then I will probably keep making the same mistake since there is absolutely no clarity. On YT until appeal. — Yuber @ TwitchCon (@hahayuber) September 28, 2019 Yuber also argued that there was a lack of clarity on these rules, which could lead to himself or others falling foul of the guidelines in future. Twitch’s community guidelines state “Do not invade the privacy of others. It is prohibited to share content that may reveal private personal information about individuals, or their private property, without permission.” Perhaps the clause most suited to this incident would be third example given, which forbids “Sharing content that violates another’s reasonable expectation of privacy, for example streaming from a private space, without permission.” Twitch may have deemed the incident to have violated the staff member’s reasonable expectation of privacy, although it should be noted that the engagement took place in a public setting. Another of Yuber’s most infamous stream moments saw his front teeth knocked out after taunting a group of alleged drug dealers to a fight. Yuber also went viral in May 2018 after uploading a tearful video about how trying to make it big on Twitch had ruined his life.

IRL streamer attacked by man who didn’t want to be filmed FreepikThanks to the advent of IRL streaming, livestreaming platforms like Twitch and YouTube deliver a near-constant flood of hilarious and unexpected moments as they happen in real time – one of which happened to an unfortunate Norwegian streamer. One of these men noticed that Stian had a streaming camera attached to his backpack and pushed the device downward, leading to a heated argument between the two. 600https://www.gunrun.tv/backpackoldWhile much of the clip is in Norwegian, the disgruntled bystander later broke out into English after Stian told him to “Shut the fuck up.” Read More: Alinity jokes she’ll get reported to PETA – “Shut the fuck up?” the angered man asked. “You know who I am? The enraged man got in a few more swings before the broadcast ended, showcasing a disturbing side to the IRL streaming community – one that has, unfortunately, happened before. While this instance contained no threat of violence, IRL streamer CJayRide was likewise approached by several individuals during a livestreamed trip in early July, one of whom asked him to delete his footage and even threatened legal action. “Are you recording?” a woman can be heard asking while CJayRide got a drink in a restaurant. “…that’s not okay. …you cannot record me. …you need to delete that, or I will sue you. Please respectfully delete this footage.” Despite the popularity of IRL streaming, it looks like plenty of people aren’t too keen on the idea, with Stian’s case being just the latest in a string of such incidents on camera.

  • IRL streamer awkwardly asked out by guy “wearing women’s clothing” – Dexerto

IRL streamer awkwardly asked out by guy “wearing women’s clothing” GGria, TwitchIRL Twitch streamer GGria was bizarrely asked out by a stranger “from India” armed with $900 as she wandered the streets of Toronto, Canada during her September 17 stream. Streamers who take themselves outside open themselves up to a load of weird and whacky situations, and GGria’s experience while she was waiting to order Chick-fil-A was no different. As she waited she was talking to her chat, before a man suddenly appeared beside her with a determined look on his face, armed with a few questions for the Twitch personality. “How are you?” the stranger opened with, before sharing some personal information about himself. “From India … let’s hang out?” GGria was, understandably, blindsided by the abruptness of the stranger’s request, and asked if the fact the was from India automatically meant they should be hanging out. The stranger, appearing interested in continuing the conversation, agreed. The Indian stranger’s hilarious reasons for taking the streamer on a date weren’t over yet, however, as he rolled out his next defining, and surprising, selling point. “I’m wearing women’s clothing,” the man said, before breezing past that odd detail and dropping his trump card. “You want to hang out? I have $900, we could go somewhere else instead of Chick-fil-A. We could go to a restaurant.” The roaming Twitch star seemed stunned by the boldness of the suggestion, as well as some of the details he’d shared, and again politely turned down his offer with an awkward smile. Considering the weirdness of the proposition, her rejection could have gone badly. To the cashed-up stranger’s credit, however, once GGria declined again he accepted her refusal and simply walked away – potentially with a plan to treat himself to a $900 feast somewhere nearby. Read more: xQc shows off his hilarious rapping skills – As he disappeared into the streets of Toronto, GGria summed up every viewer’s reaction to the situation perfectly, bursting out laughing before exclaiming “What!?” as she read her chat. The seemingly rich Indian’s proposition isn’t the first time GGria has had an interesting experience on-camera in Toronto either. Just a few months ago, the streamer was left terrified after a man yelled wildly at pedestrians while she was in the middle of her broadcast. This time around, the IRL personality’s run-in was luckily funnier than it was scary, though it definitely will also be filed into the ‘weird’ category of her experiences.

  • IRL streamer asks random stranger for threesome in uncomfortable encounter – Dexerto

IRL streamer asks random stranger for threesome in uncomfortable encounter Youtube ‘Gooch’Thanks to the advent of IRL streaming, just about anyone can broadcast their daily lives for all to see – but sometimes these streams can capture uncomfortable and even downright awkward moments as they happen in real time. One such moment occurred during a September broadcast, when IRL streamer Goocheese was streaming herself out on the town in Europe. However, this wasn’t any ordinary walk: the streamer went on to approach a seemingly random bystander, asking him if he wanted a threesome with herself and her friend – a request made all the more strange by the fact that the friend claimed to be the bystander’s sister. Despite her best efforts, the stranger didn’t understand her request, prompting an awkward explanation from the streamer as to the specifics of her proposal. “We all interact with your dick,” the streamer stated, going on to introduce herself as “Gooch” and claiming that the stream would be posted to YouTube – inciting an embarrassed reaction from the stranger in question. “YouTube, oh my god!” he exclaimed, moving out of frame of the camera as if trying to escape the awkward encounter. “You’re beautiful!” the streamer shouted after him. “Okay. Don’t be shy! This isn’t the first time a streamer has asked an embarrassing question to a random bystander, by far: in fact, Twitch streamer “CookSux” likewise asked an older woman if he could smell her feet during a September 10 broadcast, making for an uncomfortable interaction. “Can I smell your feet?” the streamer asked. “No? How about your toes? …you’re ticklish? No, no, no, I’ll stay far away, just like this. One time. I won’t get that close, I promise!” Her misgivings didn’t stop CookSux, who shuffled over to her feet and actually sniffed them, confirming that they “smelled like flowers.” No matter their reasons, Twitch streamers can end up creating some troublesome moments when interacting with strangers on the street.

  • IRL streamer attacked and followed by angry man in hair-raising incident – Dexerto

IRL streamer attacked and followed by angry man in hair-raising incident Twitch: di_rubensA Russian streamer was attacked and followed by an angry man in a hair-raising incident she caught during a live broadcast. IRL streams (short for ‘In Real Life’) are some of Twitch’s most entertaining broadcasts, following streamers as they roam around the world, sharing their travels or daily lives with fans. However, these kinds of streams can also capture frightening moments as they happen in real-time. More than a few IRL streamers have witnessed, or even been victims of, crimes during these streams — and their viewers watched it all happen live. For instance, one streamer caught the moment a woman’s purse was snatched outside a Gucci store in Paris, showing the criminal dragging her along the ground in full view as she refused to let go of her bag. Now, another wild moment has been captured thanks to an IRL streamer who was broadcasting her travels abroad in Madrid, Spain. Russian streamer attacked and chased by man during IRL broadcast Russian Twitch streamer ‘di_rubens’ was in the middle of a broadcast when she encountered a group of men who didn’t seem to like being filmed. After exchanging some heated words with the men, one of them stood up from where he was sitting on the side of the street and appeared to hit her camera. That’s not all; the man even followed her as the streamer retreated, with the two arguing back and forth all the while. The man managed to strike her camera a second time before the streamer successfully made a getaway. It’s clear that he didn’t want to be filmed at the time, which ultimately appears to have sparked their tense altercation. Although bystanders surrounded the streamer throughout the entire ordeal, no one jumped in to help deescalate things — but despite the frightening nature of the situation, this isn’t an uncommon occurrence for IRL streamers traveling abroad. We’ve covered a slew of similar instances that have happened to IRL streamers many times in the past, with one of the most recent happening to streamer ‘reydempto,’ who was threatened and chased by a man in a public park while broadcasting in Amsterdam.

  • IRL Streamer Arrested and Given $75,000 Bail After Fake Bomb Donation Alert Caused College Shutdown – Dexerto

IRL Streamer Arrested and Given $75,000 Bail After Fake Bomb Donation Alert Caused College Shutdown The freedom of a relatively unknown Twitch streamer hangs in the balance after a donation alert landed him in police custody. The world of IRL streaming (in real life) continues to break boundaries and test the waters of what is considered acceptable in modern day society. The decision to stream out in public on sites such as YouTube and Twitch is rapidly becoming one of the most watched parts of the streaming world, making household names of the likes of ICE_POSEIDON, GreekGod, Andy Milonakis and AnyThingForViews to name just a few. Popular IRL streamers often find themselves in precarious situations and are usually subject to some kind of abuse by their viewers, whether it be one calling the police to their location, or even turning up to ‘stream snipe’ in person. One up and coming streamer has learned the hard way that you shouldn’t trust your audience, after allowing his viewers to play any kind of noise through his speakers while in public for a small donation fee. Jammal Harraz was inside a room full of people when a donator played the noise of a bomb ticking down, resulting in everyone fleeing in fear. This unintentional prank appeared to cause severe mayhem within the building, and Harraz fled the scene until he was arrested by local police where he was charged with threatening to bomb or injure property. Appearing in court on Friday, June 1st, the IRL streamer had his bail set at $75,000 and will remain in custody. Judge sets bail at $75,000 for suspect arrested for UW bomb threat. IRL streamer arrested for disorderly conduct following a fight Scuffed Justin Carrey, Twitter / Adobe StockIRL streamer and YouTuber ‘Scuffed Justin Carrey’ was arrested during a live broadcast after inciting a brawl outside of a bar in Key West, Florida. According to Carrey, he’d lost his wallet, which contained such important items as his credit card and ID. Clips from Carrey’s stream show that he spoke to two police officers, to whom he claimed that his wallet had been stolen after being allegedly assaulted in a bar. Carrey escorted the officers to the bar in question, named ‘Sloppy Joe’s,’ where he claimed the altercation took place. Carrey later approached a bearded individual who was waiting in line just outside of the establishment, hurling insults at the man while alleging that he had stolen his wallet. “Pussy!” Carrey shouted. “You’re a pussy. You fat fucking loser. I have autism. You feel big? Bullying someone with autism?” “You couldn’t beat anybody,” answered another man waiting in line with the individual. The stream’s footage quickly became distorted as if Carrey were moving, followed by an exclamation of, “Oh – he hit me! He fucking hit me!” Another clip from the stream shows Carrey being instructed to place his streaming equipment on the hood of a police vehicle, after which he was told that he was being arrested for disorderly conduct. Carrey refuted the arrest by citing his autism, to which an officer responded, “I don’t think you have autism.” Scuffed Justin Carrey is a member of the CX Network, an entertainment group that contains such streamers as ICE_POSEIDON, Sweet Erin, and Sam Pepper, among other personalities. Carrey has since contacted us with further details on the situation, stating that he was not handcuffed and that he was detained in solitary confinement for a short period before being released.

  • IRL streamer AndyPyro banned from Twitch – Dexerto

IRL streamer AndyPyro banned from Twitch Popular streamer Anssi ‘AndyPyro’ Huovinen has been suspended from Twitch for seven days, with the platform citing “dangerous or distracted operation of a vehicle” as the reason. The Finnish-based streamer is partnered with Method, and often streams games like PUBG, CS:GO, and Modern Warfare, as well as IRL streams. However, he will be away for the platform until next week after being suspended for his conduct on stream. Why was AndyPyro banned from Twitch? On November 18, AndyPyro was handed a seven-day suspension from the platform for “dangerous or distracted operation of a vehicle.” AndyPyro spent his day streaming from his new BMW, which he bought the day before and was showing off to his dedicated fans. Twitch believes that the streamer was using his phone while driving to read and engage with his chat throughout the stream. Twitch’s Community Guidelines state that all users on the platform must not engage in any self-destructive behavior, and must not break the law on stream. IRL streamer AndyPyro wowed by perfect Linkin Park cover at karaoke bar Wikimedia Commons / Twitch: OfficialAndyPyroPopular Twitch streamer Anssi ‘AndyPyro’ Huovinen was enjoying a casual night out with friends at a local pub when a karaoke performance of Linkin Park’s Papercut left him absolutely stunned. IRL streams often lead to a number of bizarre and even uncomfortable moments, yet every now and then something incredible is caught on camera. Sharing his time at a local bar with viewers around the world, former PUBG pro-turned-IRL streamer, AndyPyro, was left stunned by a jaw-dropping rendition of Linkin Park’s Papercut during a karaoke performance in Finland. Having been sat at the bar for just over two hours, the opening track from Linkin Park’s 2000 release, Hybrid Theory, came over the speakers and quickly caught everyone’s attention. Just seconds into the song, one of the pub-goers let out an impressive scream to start the performance, dropping the jaws of everyone on camera. Cheering them on, the IRL streamer almost couldn’t believe just how authentic the guttural roar was to that of Chester Bennington’s. Continuing through the rest of the track, AndyPyro even turned the camera to face the two performers as they flowed from smooth rapping to harmonic singing during the chorus. Letting out one final scream to cap off the performance, everyone in the venue stood and applauded as the karaoke duo walked off. Unfortunately for the streamer, he happened to be up next on the microphone and one of his friends even joked that he has “to top that” extraordinary performance. Having wowed the entire audience, there’s no denying that the performance set the bar for the rest of the night. Rather than trying to one-up the impressive Linkin Park rendition however, the streamer went for the more humorous play instead and took on the challenge of covering John Denver’s ‘Take Me Home, Country Roads.’

  • IRL streamer almost knocks child out with pumpkin after epic fail – Dexerto

IRL streamer almost knocks child out with pumpkin after epic fail An IRL streamer’s broadcast at a food festival took a quick turn for the worst when the Twitch personality’s epic fail led to a kid almost getting knocked out. One of the most exciting thing about IRL streams is its unpredictable nature, as anything can happen in the real world. However, while most personalities that broadcast outside get taken by surprise by the actions of others, sometimes it’s the streamer that surprises everyone else. During his October 20 broadcast at a food festival called ‘Taste of Atlanta’ in Sandy Springs, Georgia, Twitch streamer ‘WholeWheatPete’ was documenting his experience at the event when things went south after he took a nasty spill on camera, and almost took a kid out with his flying pumpkin. The IRL streamer was walking around the food festival carrying a pumpkin, when he turned around to talk to his cameraman. As he was walking backwards, he suddenly clipped a bench with his leg and it sent him flying forward, as the pumpkin lunged from his hands and went sailing. The flying fruit cut through the air and almost hit a child in the head, but barely missed him as the boy quickly noticed the object, and dodged it out of terror. The streamer fell to the floor and frantically searched for where his pumpkin had landed. A lady off camera asked the streamer if he was alright, and stunned by what happened, he asked her the same thing back. “Nothing happened to me! I just heard all this fumbling!” the woman replied, clearly amused. Pete then slowly got up and his cameraman asked him if he was alright. “Dude, I think I just tripped on this bench!” he exclaimed, as he shook his leg before searching for his fruit. The cameraman checked to see if the little boy who was almost hit in the head was okay and apologized, before catching up to the Twitch personality who was distraught upon discovering that his pumpkin had been obliterated. (Mobile viewers, click here for the clip.) The IRL streamer quickly walked away in embarrassment, as his friend exclaimed, “I just wanted to let you know that you flung (the pumpkin)!” “I deada*s fell like over the bench!” Pete explained, before his buddy cut in with, “I don’t know how you managed to do that with the pumpkin, but yikes!” As WholeWheatPete continued to walk off, fans in the chat were going wild. “You could have gotten a double kill!” he read out, laughing. “Did I almost hit a kid?” he asked his friend. “Oh God. It’s time to end stream, we are done here!” (Mobile viewers, click here for the clip.) While the food festival stream didn’t go as he had planned, the streamer probably learned a lesson to not walk backwards in a crowd while broadcasting, especially when holding a large pumpkin. As of the time of this article, WholeWheatPete has over 17,000 followers on Twitch and growing.

  • IRL streamer almost runs child over with scooter – Dexerto

IRL streamer almost runs child over with scooter Knut, Twitch / FreepikThanks to the advent of IRL streaming, just about anyone can broadcast their daily lives for all to see – but sometimes, these broadcasts can capture shocking, hilarious, and unexpected moments as they unfold in real time. Norwegian Twitch streamer and bodybuilder “Knut” captured one such unexpected moment during a September 14 broadcast, while streaming his travels about the town on a motorized scooter. Knut is a popular streamer on the platform, boasting over 85k followers at the time of writing, known both for his humorous IRL antics and video game fails – but it wasn’t a video game that had viewers on the edges of their seats this time. Norwegian Twitch streamer and bodybuilder “Knut” avoided a close call with a pedestrian. The streamer was blazing through what seemed to be a shopping district on his scooter, weaving through a crowd of people with another broadcaster when a small child suddenly crossed his path. In a nail-biting moment, Knut brought his scooter to a screeching halt, laughing in shock that he’d almost taken out the little girl before continuing his travels. “Holy f*ck,” Knut exclaimed through laughter. “That thing coming for the kid? Ahh…” The gravity of the situation did not escape Knut, who later commented that things could have gone South very quickly had he actually hit the youngster, predicting a viral post on sites like Live stream fails. “Imagine crashing with a child that size on stream,” he surmised. “Oh no, that would be bad. Live stream fails. I clipped it.” Although Knut was merely using a scooter, Twitch has cracked down on streaming and driving in the past, with streamers like duo “BriandKatie” getting banned from the site for broadcasting themselves driving with one knee and using both hands to eat a pint of ice cream. That’s not all: another streamer was similarly suspended from the platform after nearly running over pedestrians on two separate occasions, all within a short span of thirty seconds. However, it looks like scooter-ing and streaming is a relatively grey area for the site, for now – and thanks to Knut’s quick reflexes, an unfortunate accident was narrowly avoided.

  • Twitch IRL streamer witnesses brutal sucker punch on random man – Dexerto

Twitch IRL streamer witnesses brutal sucker punch on random man Twitch: MizkifTwitch streamer Mizkif accidentally captured an insane moment of madness on his stream, as he witnessed a passerby get sucker punched by a random assailant. What is IRL streaming? The streamer had been broadcasting his in-real-life [IRL] stream, where he puts a camera on himself and goes on the air to his viewers, for a few hours as he and his pals bounced from bar to bar in Boston – where they are attending, and streaming from, the PAX East 2019 convention. While he and his friends were stood across the street from Fenway Park, chatting to anyone who passed by and recognized them, his stream somehow incredibly captured one random guy receiving a sucker punch. The guy who took the punch had been walking out of a bar, before flicking something away to his left. Upon walking a few more steps, he was on the receiving end of a right-hook from another guy wearing a black hoodie and cap. The victim was immediately sent flying off his feet and into the wheel arch of a parked truck while other people retaliated on his behalf, chasing after the punch thrower with jabs of their own. After turning his camera away from the group of people, showing only his own shocked face, Mizkif’s stream caught the victim being helped away from the area by his friends – seemingly ok, despite the brutal incident. The streamer had been leaving the area of the fight when two females asked him if he was ‘vlogging’. Stopping to speak to them, Mizkif told the pair to shout themselves out, however, they admitting to ‘lowkey starting the fight.’ “I told those guys they looked like fucking pricks for fighting with the bouncers,” said one of the girls, explaining how she had started the fight. “They were literally fighting the bouncers for no fucking reason.” After speaking to a few more people about what had happened, the streamer ran into the victim and checked up on how he was doing. Yet, it was his friend, known as Kevin, who immediately jumped on camera. “I will go finish that motherfucker to death. Till he’s dead, bro,” screamed ‘Kevin,’ who admitted to fighting back after his friend had been sucker punched. “He ran from me,” added Kevin. “Pushed my brother from behind, but when I came up and rocked him, he ran!” Mizkif didn’t stick around much longer after that, continuing to stream his late-night antics in Boston for a few more hours, as they headed to a few more nightclubs. There’s no word on if there was any further fall out from the incident or if the streamer will get into trouble with Twitch for accidentally streaming violence on his channel.

  • IRL streamer accidentally buys underwear from vending machine in Japan – Dexerto

IRL streamer accidentally buys underwear from vending machine in Japan One IRL streamer and his wife tried their hand at Japan’s famous “gashapon” vending machines – but what the couple received was not what either of them expected. Streaming duo “EXBC” are a married couple who broadcast their trips around the globe, with their latest travel destination being Osaka, Japan. As the third largest city in the island country, Osaka boasts a rich history and bustling nightlife – but EXBC got distracted with another phenomenon that spans throughout Japan, rather than a particular historical landmark. “Gashapon” machines, or popular toy-based vending machines, are found all across the country, peddling a variety of items like action figures, keychains, and other such merchandise. However, some of these gashapons can get a bit inappropriate, as evidenced by EXBC’s experience. Heosu, wife of fellow streamer Esco, tested her luck with one of Osaka’s gashapon machines – and ended up with an unexpected surprise, as the item inside the capsule turned out to be a pair of panties. “Oh sh**! Panties?” Heosu exclaimed, unwrapping the package to reveal a neon orange thong. “Oh yeah, orange!” As if getting an actual thong in a vending machine wasn’t odd enough, she went on to sniff the undergarment, giving it to her husband as a humorous “gift” – who also gave them a sniff for good measure. Despite the seemingly random nature of such an occurrence, this isn’t completely unusual in Japan: in fact, the country boasted a “used panty” vending machine boom in the mid-nineties, although it’s far less likely to run across such gashapons now, as the practice was quickly culled by authorities. While selling used panties is now illegal, coming across a machine that sells “artificially used” or “prepared” panties isn’t completely impossible, as EXCB illustrated – but don’t expect to run into any of these machines during your usual outings there. While many IRL streams capture unexpected moments in real time, EXCB’s vending-machine antics take the proverbial cake in a site filled with crazy and unanticipated clips from all manner of shenanigans.

  • Invadervie under fire for shaming “cheapskate” viewers for not subbing – Dexerto

Invadervie under fire for shaming “cheapskate” viewers for not subbing Invadervie, TwitchTwitch streamer “Invadervie” is coming under fire after shaming unsubscribed viewers for not supporting her channel monetarily — in spite of current global events that have caused many to lose their jobs, entirely. Like many live streaming platforms, Twitch allows viewers a myriad of ways to support their favorite content creators, by directly donating, subscribing, and even gifting subscriptions to other users. However, subscriptions come at a cost, and generally include various tiers, with viewers getting more benefits depending on how much they pay. Streamer “Invadervie” spoke out on the issue during a broadcast on April 14, where she appeared to shame unsubscribed viewers for not supporting the content they enjoy with a five dollar payment. “I’m not asking your for a large financial contribution,” she argued. “…it doesn’t matter how broke you are. If you have time to watch Twitch, you have ten dollars, truly. If you don’t have ten dollars, you probably don’t have time to watch Twitch, because you should be working.” When a viewer explained that they would support Invadervie were they not unemployed, with all their income going towards necessities, the streamer held her ground, arguing that her cost for subscribing was extremely low. “No one’s gonna convince me that what I’m saying is so rude or so unacceptable or so outrageous,” she continued. “It just simply isn’t. It’s five dollars. It doesn’t cost you that much to sub.” Unsurprisingly, viewers began hitting back at her insensitive comments — leading the streamer to give a scathing reply that accused them of being perverted “cheapskates” using her content to get off. “These people in chat who are making these comments do not appear as immature, childish, cheapskates whatsoever,” she said sarcastically. “They’re just sitting here m**turbating as hard a they can, as quietly as they can, ‘cause their parents are in the next room talking about how disappointed they are in them, going like, ‘Why would I ever pay for this when this sl*t gives it away for free?’” Invadervie isn’t the first streamer to make such comments, either; broadcaster “BadBunny” notoriously came under fire in January, after shaming her viewers for not subscribing in a debacle that quickly went viral across the net. Despite her audience’s clear distaste for her stance on the subject, it doesn’t look like Invadervie is backing down anytime soon — even in the face of severe global circumstances.

  • Invicta’s fateful journey to becoming male VTubing’s “gold standard” – Dexerto

Invicta’s fateful journey to becoming male VTubing’s “gold standard” Supplied: InvictaMale VTubers have turned out in force in 2023. One group leading the way is Invicta, an all-male quintet. While in retrospect it looks like their success was an inevitability, the path here was far from that. Visually, Invicta can be an intimidating presence. The all-male VTuber group features five very strong-looking men, muscles bulging in every direction. Getting them all into a room together can dial that feeling up tenfold. That’s until they open their mouths and the banter starts. Behind the models are five humble guys who happened to stumble into each other’s lives with a fate you wouldn’t believe in the most ludicrous anime. To break the ice, the rest of the group eggs Taiga Chama — Invicta’s “mom-ager”, as he likes to coin himself — to start his story. It can be distilled into four words: “I was an accident,” he laughs. Taiga has long had an original character to commission art of. He’s spent thousands across the years. But he had his eyes set on one artist in particular, Jouvru. When the opportunity came to get a commission from her, he took his chances. After years of waiting it paid off. Except he didn’t quite read the fineprint. “She DM’d me and asked if I wanted a full-body Live2D. I didn’t know what Live2D was, but I saw the words ‘full body’ and I was like ‘Yeah I want a full body commission!’ “I got the file and I was just expecting a PNG like you normally would get, but then she gave me the PSD file. I opened up the file and I was like ‘What the f**k? Why is everything separated? What is this?’” Within hours the Twitter account he had set up years ago to just reshare art had thousands of followers, all anticipating a VTuber debut. Taiga had no idea what a VTuber even was. He asked his friends and they said “you got a Kizuna Ai thing.” He barely even understood the streaming landscape. But Taiga was determined to learn because when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. “I’ve always been a person where if I dip my toe in, I’m going to throw my whole body in. The few months after I binged so much about VTubers and streamers. “I ended up researching this new form of entertainment, and then in November I was like ‘I am ready to figure out this sh*t.’ And those friends? “At first it was out of a whim and a joke like ‘I can’t believe you became a VTuber, dude!’ and they were making fun of me. Now they’re all messaging me like ‘I can’t believe you’re a VTuber, dude’ with a different tone of voice!” An unexpected bond Invicta’s five members all come from different creative backgrounds. The free-flowing Kite Hasegawa has an entertainment background, but with a much different look. Kaine Knight operates in a very strict lore setting due to his character being built out of an otome game. Harmony Kyrus is a reserved artist, while Taiga is the outgoing voice. While both were pushed by their friends to chase the streaming spotlight, they had different challenges to overcome. Each had different goals for VTubing. They’re even ostensibly very different people. You’d think all this would clash, but instead they perfectly complement each other. And it all happened because they’re all tied to one person: Jouvru. They just happened to be the five VTuber children of the popular artist. That led to them chatting to each other as they waited for each other’s designs. And then that kindled the friendship. Instead of venturing into the murky mass of VTubing alone, they bonded together. Nikolas Nelo started a Discord server for his own activities, and the rest kind of squatted. Given they all hung out there, and their communities started doing so too, it made sense to make it official. With that, one could say Invicta started off as a relationship of convenience. But it’s very much evolved into something deeper, and in doing so, they kickstarted a revolution in VTubing. “If I think about it, if it wasn’t for the fact we all have the same model [parent], I don’t think our paths would have crossed. I think about that all the time,” Taiga muses. This is often a point of contention between Invicta. While Kaine quickly digresses “I’m sure our paths would have eventually crossed in some capacity,” you have to admit it’s a weird coincidence that it all panned out this well. Being together from the outset made things a lot easier though. They could do a proper debut schedule and drum up hype for each other. After all, five voices amplifying an event is better than one. While that worked for most, for Harmony who was the last one to debut, it gave him a bit of stage fright: “I was a bit nervous and sweaty, my hands are clammy — but then I see someone type ‘oh my god we broke 200 people’ and I was like ‘ah,’” he laughed. “I told people that if I see more than 50, I may pass away because of my nerves.” From there the momentum kept riding off. The name Invicta was on people’s lips as male-presenting VTubers took off. That name value was really important for all the members to thrive off of each other. Instead of having to rely on being independently found, people could find one and then the other four weren’t far away. It also gives them a selling point at conventions. People might not know who each of the members are, but they do know Invicta. That is a double-edged sword at times — individual recognition is always politely taken — but their name spread like wildfire as a result. “A lot of the collabs we’ve done, and even Offkai Expo, was basically ‘here’s the Invicta boys, take a look at the men who have been taking the VTubing world by storm,’” Kaine explained. “If you were to mention one of our names, maybe five out of 10 people would know who we are. But the other half would be like ‘Invicta? I know them, but I don’t know who is in it.’ I’ve seen that a lot. Mainly our name carries a lot of weight so it’s really helped in building us up.” However, being in a group wasn’t all about metrics. It was mostly about being able to uplift each other, build their own skills, and hold each other accountable. “It really would have been on the backburner, and I would have turned to it when I wanted to,” Harmony admitted. “If not for the group, it would have been a hobby thing. I would have looked at the account whenever.” That was incredibly important when Invicta went through its lows. At its core, the group is just five guys doing something together. They’re fending for themselves in the content creation world. There’s no big corporation backing them. They’ve also traveled treacherous paths to get here. Health issues, juggling careers, and general skepticism around men in VTubing were just some of those external tensions. Internally, no group gets along all the time. But the fact they’ve made it this far is a testament to how strong their bond is. “I think there were points in time where me looking from the outside, I did not know if Invicta would be able to continue,” Taiga said. “The fact we’ve lasted this long shows we trust each other to a point where we respect each other enough to talk to each other when something is wrong.” Harmony continued: “I’ll do as much as I can for these guys. If they need any artwork done, graphics, I’ll put my Bachelor to work and I whip it up for them. For other people? I just go ‘That’s too bad.’ “I consider them my second family, if not my first because I don’t associate much with people, but I’m very close with these guys.” And one other thing about the group? If you don’t like one of them, you can find something more to your taste with another member. Better yet, you might vibe with them all, and that’s all Invicta can ask for. “I want more people to meet these people I find near and dear to my heart,” Kaine said. “If there is something on my stream that maybe you don’t vibe with, I have four other brothers who may fill that void for you.” Breaking the male VTuber stereotype Male VTubers, especially in the early days, fit a stereotype. There was a lot of techwear, for starters. People were dressed up in big hoodies cluttered with straps. The faces, for a lot of them, were very similar — ‘ikemen’ style at their most masculine, but often more feminine. Invicta bucked that trend. Here were five guys looking like musclemen. They were buff, they were tall, and it gave them a more aged and hard-cut look. That couldn’t be further from their personalities, but it gave some eye candy other male models didn’t have. “At the time we got our models, our model types, being more buff and masculine and bara, was not the norm,” Taiga explained. “The norm was that super anime bishounen look. The princely type.” This is just one example of how Invicta, in some terms, rewrote the VTubing meta for men. Invicta’s debut was fortunately timed in line with Luxiem’s explosion. NIJISANJI EN’s most successful wave to date debuted mere weeks after Invicta did. That brought a new audience to VTubing, which was one the group could tap into. But they still found a way to make their own in the community thanks to their unique designs, and eventually, their standalone content. The camaraderie of the group was unlike any other. They could all individually stand on their own, but the whole was greater than the sum of its parts. And from there, they set the benchmark. “I think what’s crazier for me now is we’ve opened up more opportunities for male-presenting indies,” Taiga continued. “When we all started, I don’t think we were expecting to have the same type of community and recognition and reception as a corporate-backed group.” “As indies, we were happy when people showed up. And once we started building our community, the communities started to form around our different personalities.” VTubing does have its fair share of discourse though, and male VTubers are often in the firing line. In the same way lewd content creators fight for acceptance, masculine-looking VTubers often face contempt for their existence. There’s a few working theories for that. Male VTubers cater to a women-dominant audience, which can spur some vitriol, something Kaine mentioned. “It’s the double standard,” he continued. “Generally we would appeal to a female audience, but because of who we are, we also appeal to a male audience and everyone in between.” However, every time these topics arise, Invicta is somehow never included: “Because of the content we have, we have been safe as far as keeping the target off our back.” The rest of the group agreed. “I’ve commented on a few VTuber discourse things just to see how people would react because we’re such masculine characters, but they’re like ‘not you Taiga, not Invicta, you guys are different,’” Taiga explained. Kite continued: “We got very lucky with the people we chose to be in Invicta together with. We still have to watch our steps because the VTuber space is very volatile, but should we continue along that path, we will be fine.” Being loud and proud Another working theory for that is just how open Invicta are. The group are incredibly relatable, and their varied backgrounds play a part in that. They are also incredibly open about some of their personal challenges. Taiga, as an example, has always put his foot down about chronic health issues and his voice. “I’ve always had extreme vocal dysphoria,” Taiga explained. “I didn’t think I sounded bad per se. But no matter any of the online spaces I joined growing up, people could never figure out what I was. It caused me a lot of gender dysphoria as well. “One of the first things I had to do, as a male VTuber, was say ‘If you comment on my voice, my gender, you will be banned.’ “But the fact I’m so used to my voice, I’ve had so many people come up to me and say I’ve helped them want to become a VTuber and overcome their own fears because they’re not what people perceive male VTubers to sound like.” The sentiment was echoed by Kite, who explained how VTubing let him be more open with his sexual identity. “What really hit hard was just looking at how comfortable people in the LGBTQIA+ community were,” he said. “Throughout my whole life, I haven’t been able to explore that myself. It was through VTubing I was able to become much more comfortable with embracing that side of me. “It’s ironic because you’re showing yourself as your character, but I’m able to be much more of who I am as a person than I was in my own flesh.” And even for those playing up the character like Kaine, you still get the essence of the human beneath. “I can’t break the facade of who Kaine is in comparison to everyone else. Breaking through that was the most difficult challenge at the beginning. I still have difficulty with that now. But at the same time that’s what I love about VTubing. Being able to be myself through this character is a beautiful thing. It’s challenging but I love the challenge and love being able to change people’s lives with this persona.” Two years on from when Invicta set male VTubing onto a new direction, they are now journeying down different paths. Kite Hasegawa has a 2.0 rebrand planned for 2024, with many others (excluding Kaine) going through similar refreshes. If Invicta is Latin for undefeated, that’s a pretty good emblem for their journey so far. How they came together might have been an accident, but they seized the opportunity. And with that, the next step they’re all taking together is filled with purpose and determination to keep going. “It’s so weird because if you asked me that as a general question previously, I’d think of financial stability, having a great career,” Kite said. “But over the years comes wisdom and maturity, and the pandemic wearing you down.” “If we can keep what we have right now, with bits and improvement and growth over the next three to five years, then I think just that would be great.” “When I went into this head on I wasn’t expecting anything out of it,” Taiga mused. “But there was an offhanded conversation I had with my younger brother while going to the grocery store. I was driving back home and he looked at me and was like ‘I think this is the first time I’ve seen you happy.’ “With the things I experienced in my life, I never thought I’d make it to the future. Being able to talk and think about something beyond my current present is something I’m not used to.” “But I hope we can keep doing this. I want this to be my every day. If we achieve our goals, that’s even better.”

IRL food truck streamer assaulted by drunk customer on camera Popular streamers and food truck runners “GrubTruckers” were interrupted during their shift by a drunken customer who got a bit physical after being denied a free ride home. The GrubTruckers, known for their gourmet Mac n’ Cheese, were in the middle of a shift during a December 18 live-stream when a drunken stranger walked up to their food truck asking for a ride home. Unfortunately for him, the staff on duty clarified that they couldn’t give him a lift, as they had yet to close up shop — an answer that the customer didn’t seem to take very well. “We’re not allowed to close for another hour,” one staff member said. After a short conversation regarding the frat he was in, the customer left to loiter by a storefront, after which he threw his phone down on the concrete with a guttural, “God damn it!” Angered by the fact that staff couldn’t offer him a ride, the man sauntered up to the truck’s window to give them a piece of his mind. “You know what? Me and him asked you for help,” he slurred. “We both asked you for help.” Read More: Who was the most-watched streamer of 2019? – “You did,” a staff member replied. “You asked for a ride. But we can’t leave.” The customer angrily tipped a container of forks into the truck window at this, flinging in a few other objects that appeared to shatter inside the vehicle. Despite the danger of the situation, the window runner kept his cool. “I’m gonna ask you to leave politely one last time,” he said to the customer, who was promptly shoved aside by his friend as the situation escalated. This didn’t stop his outrage, though, and he threw another object toward the side of the truck, shouting, “Have fun working at the Grub Truck, you f***ing loser!” The man was later escorted off the premises by his friend, leaving behind a shot glass that he’d lobbed inside the window — a hilarious turn of events that gave staff a good laugh. This isn’t the first time the GrubTruck has experienced such drama, by far. In fact, a fight broke out in front of their business just a month prior, when a bystander sucker-punched another stranger after what appeared to be a heated argument. Thanks to the many cameras on their vehicle, the GrubTruck will always have damning footage as proof, should another drunken patron decide to get physical during one of their late-night runs.

  • Inugami Korone reveals why she doesn’t use popular “Furball” VTuber model often – Dexerto

Inugami Korone reveals why she doesn’t use popular “Furball” VTuber model often YouTube: Inugami KoroneHololive talents have a number of VTuber models at their disposal, Inugami Korone included. The beloved doggo has a fan favorite in her Furball form, but she doesn’t pull it out too often for a specific reason. Every VTuber, and fans in the space, know what goes into a new outfit. From art to rigging and even just the base design, it takes a lot of effort. However, it makes every new model that much more special to debut. Hololive talents have a lot of resources at their disposal to keep the new outfits coming. From Hololive Summer and its swimsuits to winter outfits, New Years, and other festivities, there’s seemingly a new debut every month. Inugami Korone has many forms herself, especially since she’s been with the agency for some time. Fans have their biases as to what model the doggo uses, but one collective fan favorite is the Furball outfit. It’s based on a fan design, debuting it in April 2022 as just a simplified version of her model. It’s that last little bit, though, that complicates when the VTuber can use it, she admits. “My Furball form hasn’t made that many appearances at all,” she said on stream, according to a translation. “There’s rules about it… since I had it made for myself, the stuff that you get made for yourself — how do I put this — there’s all this stuff surrounding it. “It’s something that I’ve talked about and decided with management. It’s not a matter of copyright, it’s not a particularly difficult issue or anything between Hololive, the other members, and me. It was an internal discussion. I know a lot of you are like ‘show us your Furball form!’ but it’s not something I can bring out right away. Struggling to find the words, she used an analogy between her Furball outfit and one of the other ones she wears from time to time: “Kadomatsu is a New Year’s outfit, and it’s something everyone received. Furball was something I had made for myself. I asked for it to be made so I could use it, so it’s a little different. Because it’s not official? Kind of?” It might be a mild disappointment to some fans in the “Furball faction”, as Korone put it. However, she wants to dismiss the notion that the reason she doesn’t use it is because of jealousy. The other Hololive talents have no issue with Korone using her Furball model. Management has cleared it too. It’s just an issue of comfort for her, and wanting to be respectful of her fellow VTubers. “There’s no Hololive member that would say this but it’s something like ‘how come only she gets to do that? It’s not fair!’ You know what I mean? So to prevent any feelings of unfairness — that’s the gist of it,” she continued. “All the Hololive members care for each other. But as a member of the group, it was more like ‘maybe we should agree to do it this way?’ It’s not a hard rule or anything. It was decided out of kindness [and respect]. It wasn’t like management went ‘that’s not allowed!’” Although with that being the case, she does want to find new ways to bring out her Furball model in special streams. “I do want to show it off to you guys though, I’d really love to. I can’t just bring it out on the spot. There’ll be times when I will use it again, so I hope the people who love Furball can wait patiently. “If I discuss with them beforehand like ‘I have something planned, I’d like to use it’, then I can.”

  • Invadervie hits back at viewer after finding out they’re not subscribed – Dexerto

Invadervie hits back at viewer after finding out they’re not subscribed Invadervie, Twitch“Invadervie” is a popular broadcaster on Twitch, known for her “Just Chatting” streams and humorous interactions with viewers — one of whom got shut down in a major way in spite of their seemingly positive comment. Invadervie is one of Twitch’s quickest-growing personalities, who skyrocketed to fame during her first month on the platform. Although the 29-year-old Canadian will broadcast video games or musical content at times, she most often chats with her audience of over 125k viewers, which has lead to more than a few unique conversations in the past. One such conversation occurred during a February 8 broadcast, after a viewer claimed that she was their favorite streamer. Despite the apparent compliment, Invadervie called out the commenter for seeming to use flattery as a way to receive positive attention from a broadcaster — despite not financially supporting them. “I don’t believe you, exactly, that I’m your favorite streamer, because you’re not subbed to me,” she replied. “That just seems… I don’t know if there’s evidence to your claim. I’m a highly emotional person, and so I see that, and my first instinct is, ‘Yay, I’m your favorite! That means that I’m the best!’” She went on to clarify that she doesn’t want to give out snap judgements, but chooses to react “logically” to avoid being potentially extorted. “But I also need you to realize that because I am a highly emotional person, that can lead me to being taken advantage of very quickly, so I focus on behaving as a highly logical person,” she continued. “I don’t try to judge anybody, but I do try to perceive you for all the evidence you’re giving me of your character.” It comes as little surprise that the streamer knew right away that the viewer wasn’t subscribed, as she previously admitted to conducting very thorough research on her financial supporters. This wouldn’t be the first time she’s popped off on a viewer before, either: Invadervie also delivered a scathing clapback to a troll who accused her of being a “Twitch thot” in early January, showing that she’s not afraid to call out those who aren’t acting up to par in her chat room — or practicing what they preach, for that matter.

  • Interview: xQc’s blockbuster Kick deal allegedly had nothing to do with Twitch’s gambling ban – Dexerto

Interview: xQc’s blockbuster Kick deal allegedly had nothing to do with Twitch’s gambling ban Kick StreamingIn an exclusive interview with Dexerto, xQc’s agency explains that his blockbuster Kick deal had nothing to do with Twitch’s gambling ban and Stake’s ownership. When Felix “xQc” Lengyel penned his $100 million deal with the streaming platform Kick, it lit the entertainment world on fire. One of the largest of its kind, it drew comparisons to blockbuster sports signings which it handily dwarfed in price. However, questions arose surrounding the nature of the deal as Kick is backed by the online casino Stake.com, and xQc has long been critical of Twitch’s handling of gambling streams in the past. So, did xQc’s Kick deal have anything to do with Twitch’s gambling ban and his gambling streams? xQc’s Kick deal had nothing to do with Stake and gambling, agency claims Talking to Sébastien Delvaux, the COO of Evolved, the talent agency representing xQc, he says that the deal had nothing to do with gambling or Stake. “The actual Kick conversation, Stake was never part of that, [Kick] was very clear, and we were very clear,” he said of their discussions with the streaming platform about the deal. “They were very clear that Kick as a platform is not just an outlet for Stake, and we were very clear that Stake and deliverables around that potentially cannot be part of this contract.” Delvaux said this was to ensure the quality of xQc’s streams didn’t suffer, as the experience for viewers would decline if he was made to do gambling streams. “There’s no world in which we want 100% of xQc’s to be gambling, or even for fans to feel like this move is going to deteriorate the quality of their experience as to what they’re used to on Twitch.” Rather, Delvaux says the contract allows xQc the choice to do gambling streams if he wants to, but is never obliged to do so under the deal. “Making sure that Felix has the freedom to gamble, if he wants to, because a lot of fans do enjoy those types of streams, but isn’t necessarily obligated to do it in any way, was very important to us. So he can do it if he feels like it’s something that he wants to do at the time, but there’s no obligation in the Kick contract for him to do that.”

  • xQc turned down offers to leave Twitch despite huge deals before $100m Kick signing – Dexerto

xQc turned down offers to leave Twitch despite huge deals before $100m Kick signing Instagram: xqcow1In an exclusive interview with xQc’s agency, they reveal that the streaming giant received multiple competing offers before inking his $100 million Kick deal, but turned it down because he wasn’t ready for a “retirement move”. With a price tag of $100 million, Felix “xQc” Lengyel’s Kick deal rocked the entertainment world. Not only because of its massive price tag but also because of how high profile such a signing was for the burgeoning streaming site. When xQc inked his Kick deal, the Stake-backed site was barely half a year into its launch, and xQc was undoubtedly their biggest signing to date. Despite just being a non-exclusive streaming contract, The Juicer was brought on to put Kick on the map, and that he has done. This was in total contrast to previous blockbuster streamer deals. When names such as Ninja and Shroud moved for the now-defunct Mixer, it was an exclusive move to the platform, meaning the two made a complete shift towards the platform. xQc received multiple competing offers before signing his blockbuster Kick deal However, according to Sébastien Delvaux, the COO of Evolved, the talent agency representing xQc, he was never ready for a “retirement move” like that, despite receiving competing offers. “Over the years, there have been competing offers from other platforms, and very often during this initial review process that we have with Felix, the conversation comes around, ‘well, we’re not ready for a retirement move, right?’” Which was why, Delvaux explained, xQc never entertained many other offers. Deals only focused on monetary value just weren’t on the table for the megastar. Rather xQc wanted a deal to grow his channel. “That’s why he wasn’t a part of the wave that moved to Mixer back in the day,” Delvaux said. “Because he was in a big growth period, and it’s not a paycheck that was exciting him, it was the ability to grow.” So this is a place where he has potentially the ability to grow further and to do more than what he can do on Twitch.” As for who the rivaling platforms are that offered him deals, Delvaux wouldn’t say. “Probably won’t tell you exactly,” he told us. “But I can tell you it was a good handful.”

  • Interview: Twitch outlines plans to continue making a “safe space” for all streamers – Dexerto

Interview: Twitch outlines plans to continue making a “safe space” for all streamers TwitchTwitch APAC Content Director Lewis Mitchell spoke with Dexerto about what the company is currently doing along with its future plans to ensure the streaming platform promotes inclusivity and diversity. For Twitch, encouraging diversity and inclusivity on the platform is a mission that the company seems dedicated to. During an exclusive interview at PAX Australia, Dexerto sat down with APAC Content Director Lewis Mitchell to chat about all things on that end. While Twitch allows anyone to jump online and let viewers watch along, this openness does, unfortunately, pave the way for some inappropriate behavior. Many big-name female content creators especially, the likes of Kyedae, Pokimane, and many others, have been vocal about the sexism and misogyny they have encountered during their time on Twitch. Whether it be comments from chat or even their fellow streamers, female representation on Twitch and streaming as a whole still has a way to go. Almost all of the most-watched streamers on Twitch are male-identifying, many of whom are also caucasian and identify as heterosexual. While this demographic is being represented at large on Twitch, the rest of the gaming community is still trying to find its footing in the streaming world. After all, we live in a world where anyone and everyone can play and enjoy video games. It is no longer a male-dominated hobby but instead, one that is consumed by all. Therefore, what is being done by Twitch to ensure that LGBTQ+ streamers, content creators who are people of color, and other minorities, all feel safe and supported when turning Twitch on and going live? Twitch’s mission to promote “diverse creators” on the platform When broached about inclusivity, Mitchell first began by talking through the programs in place at Twitch today to help encourage diverse creators to jump on and get streaming. “We’ve expanded on the programs we run to really promote diverse creators. We have spent a lot of time and put some really good tools out that are helping make sure it is a safe space. It’s really important that everything we do comes along with that safe space.” In regards to diverse creators, the concept of them having a safe space is a conversation that is constantly on their minds. During the interview, Mitchell expanded further on how they’re ensuring all content creators are looked after and feel comfortable and supported by Twitch. “We released an update where if you ban a viewer, they can no longer watch the stream. That was a massive cry from minority groups, something we’d heard from coming to these conventions.” The power of moderators and how they help keep Twitch chat in check Mitchell then added, “User Voice is a system we use, anyone can go on. We’re really active in that, the product team mostly uses that. One of those requests was banned by viewers. “We’ve really done a lot to update moderation tools. The cross-pollination moderation tools that have come out, where a moderator, they ban somebody and can put a note into why that person was banned.” Why is this sense of safety so important for Twitch you ask? In the eyes of those who work there, the most important cogs in the machine are the content creators and moderators who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that the platform remains an inclusive space for everyone. “Everyone says creators are the heart and soul of Twitch, I’d put moderators as the soul. It doesn’t work without them.” Moderation is one of the most important tools Twitch has to help rid the platform of negativity and create a safe space for content creators. And while useful, the fact that this is such a core aspect of streaming culture does also indicate the way in which sexism, homophobia, and racism are in a way expected in the streaming world. The quest for inclusivity on Twitch is always a work in progress And while there are systems in place and programs to help diversify the type of content and streamers on Twitch, Mitchell acknowledged that there is still more to be done. Twitch is always looking to make further progress to help ensure inclusivity is always woven into the foundations of the platform. “We’re constantly talking internally and looking at policies, updating them based on situations that are happening. It’s absolutely paramount to what we do, making sure creators have that safe space to be as creative as they want to be.” With a clear vision for what they hope to achieve in regards to greater inclusivity and diversity on Twitch, the streaming platform and the content creators we see rise in popularity will hopefully reflect the work that Twitch is putting in to ensure that anyone and everyone can stream on the site. However, the battle between maintaining profits and championing new talent is one that Twitch still needs to find a happy medium between just like all streaming platforms. After all, it’s safe to say Twitch has had a rocky relationship with its creators of late. One of the biggest stories of the year has been the back and forth on the share of revenue streamers bring in from their sub count. But knowing these conversations are happening and that Twitch is working towards building up inclusivity and supporting diverse talent should certainly be music to the ears of many active users, both streamers and viewers alike. • Interview – Twitch welcomes competition from Kick: “It means we’re onto a good thing” – Dexerto

Interview – Twitch welcomes competition from Kick: “It means we’re onto a good thing” Twitch / KickTwitch welcomes competition from rival platforms like Kick, as APAC Content Director Lewis Mitchell explained to us at Dexerto in an exclusive interview, arguing their recent investment is beneficial for the industry at large. The original streaming wars saw juggernauts jostling for position atop the industry with blockbuster exclusivity deals thrown around on a seemingly weekly basis. With a constant push to capture the masses and lure crowds away from rivals, it was certainly an exciting time for fans around the globe. For the most part, the original wave of this competition died down in recent years as the plug was pulled on Mixer, Facebook Gaming scaled back its involvement, and Twitch largely continued to dominate the space as it did prior. Though a new challenger has since stepped into the ring and reignited the war. Kick has emerged as a new contender, one that doesn’t appear to be slowing down its aggressive push anytime soon. Be it more enticing revenue splits with content creators or the many mouthwatering contracts being floated to the very biggest online celebs, we’ve already seen plenty of Twitch superstars ink deals as the competition ramps up once again in 2023. This competition, however, is something the Amazon-backed streaming giant welcomes with a smile. In a recent sit-down at PAX Australia 2023 with Twitch’s APAC Content Director Lewis Mitchell, he outlined how, from their perspective, the competition is just another sign they’re on the right track as a company. “The way we think about it is if you have people wanting to invest in the livestreaming space, it means you’re doing something right. It means we’re onto a good thing,” Mitchell said. “Whenever you’re onto a good thing, other people are going to come along and want to build on that, and that’s great.” The recent surge in interest around Kick seemingly isn’t perceived as a threat to Twitch’s foothold, and they don’t appear actively concerned with what the rival platform is doing in the day-to-day. Rather, as Mitchell explained, the competition is simply another area of growth in the industry that helps benefit everyone involved. “From our side, we keep coming to these events, listening to [streamers], making sure we’re giving them what they need. As part of that, as the industry grows, you’re going to have other people come along, and that’s great.” As for the sheer value attached to some of the landmark streaming deals in recent months, the dollar signs don’t come as a surprise to Twitch, Mitchell added. When asked if xQc’s reported $100 million non-exclusive deal caught him by surprise, he replied, “honestly, no.” “It’s just one of those things. We keep focusing on our creators and what they need. Others can invest in the ways they invest.”

  • Interview: Content creator Demondice talks J-Rap, voice acting and streaming – Dexerto

Interview: Content creator Demondice talks J-Rap, voice acting and streaming DemondiceContent creator Demondice sat down with Dexerto to discuss her career as a J-Rap artist, her desire to continue growing her platform, and to preview what kind of voice acting she would love to do moving forward in her career. In 2023, what it means to be a content creator is a varied idea. For many, it means streaming on the likes of Twitch and YouTube. However, some content creators like to explore more avenues and experiment with various types of content. Enter Demondice, a US creator who refuses to limit herself to just one platform or type of content. In an exclusive interview with Dexerto, Demondice sat down to chat about all things from J-Rap, the streaming space as well as her desire to get more involved with voice acting moving forward. “I am an animator, musician, songwriter, vocalist, and at times rapper as well. And also at times streamer, I also take on a lot of different voice work and I have several different jobs that I’m involved in as an entertainer. So I’m really quite a crazy person. As to how I would define myself: Just an insane person. A person who really likes to do a lot of things.” Despite not wanting to limit herself, Demondice has developed quite a passion for Japanese rap, better known as J-Rap. This style of music is something that she loves listening to as well as creating original songs and covers for. Demondice breaks down the J-Rap scene and being the “token white person” When discussing how she got into the J-Rap scene, it’s safe to say that breaking into the “community” presented some unique challenges for someone who isn’t actually from Japan. “A lot of people, they had their own community uploading like underground music, onto the Internet, kind of similar to how a lot of people that, you know, speak English, for example, have SoundCloud or a lot of people outside of Japan in general upload to SoundCloud and have their own communities. In Japan, they had their own Japanese rap as well, and I was a big fan. “It was really interesting because from an early time, I was kind of seen as the token white person I think. For a while, every time I went to one of the underground shows, people were always like ‘Who’s that?’ Until I started talking to people. The main way that I connected with folks was actually on Twitter, so it’s not like there are already several people that knew who I was. In the beginning, which is probably for the better because I think it would have been very hard to make friends if I hadn’t been talking to them on Twitter.” How childhood dreams inspired Demondice to become a content creator When reflecting on how Demondice decided to make the leap to content creation, she discussed how her struggles as a child helped define her tastes and how her confidence to explore the artistic side has grown as she stepped into the spotlight as an adult. “I always wanted to be an actress. But, you know, I experienced a lot of bullying in school, that kind of shot my confidence. So I always had this sort of creative thing in my head, the sort of creative component to be creative and outgoing and entertaining. But it just manifested in a different way. So I actually ended up kind of gravitating towards comics and writing stories and drawing, and that was mostly how I manifested my creativity for a while. And so I really kind of taught myself how to draw and animate from a very young age, probably about the age of 11 or so. And then as I grew into an adult, I became more and more confident and then realized that I enjoyed making music.” Speaking more on J-Rap, Demondice expressed her desire to see the music style break into the Western world in the same way K-Pop has become a cultural phenomenon. The content creator breaking down how K-Pop has been able to successfully make the jump and what she thinks J-Rap needs to do to mirror its success. How J-Rap can take inspiration from K-Pop “I would give the same advice that I was given from my Senpai as a rapper in the underground Tokyo Scene: It’s hard to connect with an audience if you can’t speak their language. Something interesting about K-Pop in general is you actually hear a lot of English in K-Pop songs. Which I think also contributed to really helping their rise to sort of mainstream popularity. I think asking Japanese people to speak English when they just live in Japan is very stupid and you shouldn’t do it. But when it comes to wanting to try and get the music to spread overseas, it’s just something that you’ve got to do. I don’t wanna say a sacrifice that you have to make, but it’s a skill that you have to put in the time and effort.” And when it comes to what Demondice is hoping to achieve in the future, she admitted that her two big goals are to get more involved in the streaming scene and to break into the voice acting industry. Demondice wants to stream more & break into voice acting in the future “I want to keep doing it and it turns out that there are a lot of people that enjoy watching me for some reason with this camera on my face. That makes me happy. So I guess if they really want that, then I will continue to do it. And honestly, it’s just a great way for me to kick back.” When I asked which streamers Demondice draws inspiration from, the content creator was quick to discuss the ever-evolving VTuber scene that has risen in popularity at a rapid rate over the past few years. How the likes of Ironmouse and others have paved the way for herself and others to follow suit. “Well, I love Ironmouse of course. I think she’s just the epitome of a fantastic entertainer. I think that being 2D does not limit her. Well, I think that she has cultivated an amazing audience of people that love both that aspect of her and the person behind Ironmouse. She has an amazing community that loves and supports her and she made that herself.” Furthermore, when discussing her desire to do more voice acting, Demondice explained that she has “already started making moves toward it. So for example, I actually have a commercial demo reel that I have to do in the next couple of days. I’ve already put out my character reel, which I’ve posted on Twitter so everybody can see, and I’m really proud of it. And then once I get my commercial reel out there. I’m going to start applying to agencies to see what I can do because until then it’s going to be really hard to get any notable roles. I think until you know I’m within an agency, but to be honest, I’ve done a couple of small video game things and a couple of small guest things as well.” With the likes of J-Rap, K-Pop, and other different styles of music permeating the Western audience, Demondice represents a new wave of content creators drawing inspiration from these types of content. In the years to come, these styles of content creators, those who wear more than one hat, are likely to become the norm rather than an outlier.

  • Interview: Ryan Shakes reveals 4 ways to make money on TikTok – Dexerto

Interview: Ryan Shakes reveals 4 ways to make money on TikTok Instagram: Ryan Shakes[jwplayer ZXB9LNVP]After building up a following of 5 million on TikTok, Ryan Shakes suddenly stopped posting. But, he didn’t sabotage his own success. Instead, Ryan’s hiatus was part of a new business strategy designed to make as much money from the app as possible. Based in Florida, the 18-year-old has been on TikTok since 2016, when it was called Musical.ly, and quickly became one of the biggest names on the app – without joining a creator collective. It’s easy to believe that just by getting lots of followers on TikTok alone, you’ll make huge amounts of money. The app’s live feature allows you to take donations from enthusiastic viewers – Ryan told Dexerto that he made more than $100,000 in one year from live donations alone. After taking part in an exclusive interview with Dexerto, Ryan revealed some of his top tips for creating a TikTok empire. 1 – Grow your followers Ryan says that the “secret sauce” to gaining followers quickly on TikTok is to get involved in as many trends as possible or popular songs. He told us: “You just go on the For You page refreshing and scrolling through one or two times and find something that you want to recreate.” Ryan and his younger sister Zayla will often recreate popular TikTok dances together. Also, he noted to make original content that other people could easily copy. Ryan was the originator of the air freshener trend where he’d spray the bottle in time to a popular song on TikTok at the time. 2 – Make merchandise Top influencers including Addison Rae, Bryce Hall, and the Lopez Brothers have all jumped on the merch bandwagon alongside collectives such as the Hype House and YouTube’s Team 10 – and for good reason. Making sales from Merchandise is extremely easy for the app’s biggest stars, but influencers with fewer followers than Addison Rae and Charli D’Amelio shouldn’t be perturbed, because merchandise goes a long way. Ryan has created a brand under “Shakey Fam” named after his followers says that it is “passive income” as opposed to something like a brand deal where you need to work out how to seemingly include the product in your content. Within the first month of the site’s operation, Shakeyfam.com racked up over $125,000 in sales. 3 – Educate yourself Ryan’s new merchandise shop “Shakey fam” is his second attempt at selling branded items in his own name. He says: “I wish somebody sat down with me and talk to me about how to form your own business.” The first time around, Ryan hired someone to help him design and sell his product and says that the first batch of products was sold without his logo on them accidentally. “He just wanted a quick buck off of me,” Ryan said, revealing that this person took 40% of the profit. 4 – Don’t compare yourself to other creators Trends are easy to copy, but it’s also important to find your own voice and originality on the app. Even if someone else is quickly gaining thousands of followers, it doesn’t mean you don’t have great content, Ryan says. “When you compare yourself to somebody else, you’re only just lowering yourself… you can look up to them and set goals because essentially you can have anything you want.” With these strategies, Ryan amassed 5 million followers and successfully turned his account into a business opportunity. Follow his advice and it could be you too. Follow Ryan Shakes on TikTok here.

  • Internet stunned by Japanese man’s insane drinking trick – Dexerto

Internet stunned by Japanese man’s insane drinking trick Twitch: robcdeeThe internet was left stunned after watching a Japanese man pull off an insane drinking trick during a live stream on Twitch. Robcdee is a popular IRL streamer on Twitch, where he often chronicles his travels in Japan for viewers around the world to see. Over the years, Rob has earned himself the nickname ‘angel of Shibuya,’ thanks to the many times he’s stepped up to help people in need during his broadcasts. However, the latest moment going viral from his stream doesn’t show the creator stepping in to help a drunk passerby get home safely; instead, it’s a far more raucous affair that has seriously impressed just about everyone who’s watched it. Japanese man stuns the internet with viral drinking trick Robcdee was having a drink at a bar in Japan when one of the folks he was drinking with decided to pull off an eye-popping party trick. After announcing the “Japanese party / festival” trick, the entire group started clapping while the guy placed his drink upside down on the palm of his hand. Surprisingly, no beer spilled out — and instead, he managed to drink it from a small pocket that had formed between his hand and the mug’s lip without a single drop falling to the floor. Commenters online were left stunned by the party trick, with one writing, “Actually might be the coolest drinking move I’ve ever seen.” “Now that is a professional,” another said. Even Twitch star xQc was left shocked by the trick, seemingly baffled at how the man was able to apparently defy physics. “Wait, what?” the steamer asked. “I have never seen that before. Dayum!” It’s certainly nice to see such a fun moment take social media by storm — something that recently happened when Robert Irwin went viral for rescuing a snake trapped in a vending machine.

  • Internet turns against Streamlabs after ‘copy/paste’ OBS apology & name change – Dexerto

Internet turns against Streamlabs after ‘copy/paste’ OBS apology & name change StreamLabsStreamlabs got slammed for its brief response after it was accused of plagiarizing competitors like OBS, Lightstream, Elgato, and others. Though the company responded to the OBS drama, people online noticed it was light on addressing the problem while opting into a familiar style of company apologies in the past. “I swear if Streamlabs is gonna come with that black background white text company apology bulls**t on how they messed up I’m gonna be so done,” Twitch streamer ‘REVERSAL’ tweeted. The streamer was beside himself hours later when Streamlabs publicly acknowledged the debacle in a similar format. That summed up the public outcry against the company that made it trend online on November 17. https://twitter.com/REVERSALx7/status/1461051986317615111 Streamlabs slammed for ‘OBS’ apology The company’s apology didn’t assuage people online that it was taking the necessary steps to rectify the situation. “Nah, I’m out,” popular streamer ‘JERICHO’ said. More people were sharing the same sentiment of dropping the popular software maker for an alternate program. “Sucks that OBS had to go public before you guys listened but now we are here,” streamer ‘WJacky101’ said. “You say that you take responsibility for your actions – good! “What changes are you making to show that you take that responsibility? Simply complying with the request from OBS doesn’t suffice, in my opinion.” Sucks that OBS had to go public before you guys listened but now we are here! This exploded into more revelations involving Streamlabs. Lightstream CEO Stu Grubbs pointed out how Streamlabs’ website copied everything from its marketing to user product reviews from his company. This started a winding discourse on Streamlabs’ history that got a response from the OBS Project. “Near the launch of SLOBS (Streamlabs OBS), Streamlabs reached out to us about using the OBS name,” OBS said. “We kindly asked them not to. “They did so anyway and followed up by filing a trademark. We’ve tried to sort this out in private and they have been uncooperative at every turn.”

  • Internet roasts Ben Shapiro for burning dolls in protest of Barbie movie – Dexerto

Internet roasts Ben Shapiro for burning dolls in protest of Barbie movie YouTube: Ben ShapiroBen Shapiro watched Barbie in theaters, and safe to say, he wasn’t impressed. In fact, he was so distressed by the film that he bought himself two of the iconic dolls to burn — and the internet did not hold back when roasting him for it. American commentator Ben Shapiro makes his living sharing htis opinions on a range of trending and political topics. The latest victim of Shapiro’s wrath? Greta Gerwig’s Barbie. Claiming to have been “dragged” to theaters by producers, Shapiro released a scathing review of what he considered “one of the most woke movies I have ever seen.” And the review was not without theatrics, featuring a segment in which the commentator set a Barbie and Ken doll on fire in “the most Oppenheimer fashion.” Now the internet has responded, roasting Shapiro for his antics. Describing the film as an “angry feminist claptrap that alienates men from women,” Shapiro was evidently upset by the PG-13-rated film. The 39-year-old found various issues with the film, such as its inclusion of a trans woman and Ken’s “annoying and ridiculous” portrayal. But his review has sparked amusement and bafflement, with the internet left wondering, “Why is this grown man so fixated over a children’s movie?” “It’s obvious that Ben’s problems are clearly rooted in the fact he wanted to go to art school but his parents wouldn’t let him,” one person tweeted. “His performative art pieces, while lacking talent, clearly show his passion.” Another posted, “Awe, Ben burned his Barbies. Most people that have Barbies get rid of them at a much younger age than he is now. Glad he was able to finally let go of them.” We are honored to share this milestone in Shapiro’s journey through adulthood. For all the latest entertainment news, be sure to check out our page here.

  • Internet stunned as Ninja somehow fails to cut a loaf of bread – Dexerto

Internet stunned as Ninja somehow fails to cut a loaf of bread Top streamer Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins may be a talented gamer and entertainer, but all that time spent honing his skills on the controller and the keyboard has left him lacking in the culinary arts. Formerly a professional Halo player, Blevins is now best known as the world’s top Fortnite streamer, and he’s been a dedicated gamer for much of his life. He did, however, work at fast-food restaurant Noodles & Co before going full time on Twitch but clearly his skills weren’t required in the kitchen, judging by a viral clip from his appearance on YouTube cooking show Bon Appétit. The recipe in question seems fairly simple on first inspection, as Ninja was guided by professional chef Carla Music to make an egg-in-a-hole bacon and cheese sandwich. Unfortunately, Ninja was stumped at one of the early stages of sandwich-making: cutting the bread. In a clip that his since gone viral on Twitter, the Mixer star appears perplexed trying to find the best way to tackle the bread-slicing maneuver, despite Carla’s best attempts to show him. i just watched 28 year old tyler “”ninja”” blevins struggle to figure out how to cut two slices of bread out of a loaf pic.twitter.com/4TJm1BOR6o — rob law (@itsroblaw) December 10, 2019 In his confusion, the 28-year-old began slicing the loaf horizontally, for reasons unbeknownst to anyone but himself. As part of the setup, the professional chef isn’t allowed to get ‘hands on’ with her assistance, leaving Blevins to make his error. And the difficulties didn’t end there, as Ninja’s next foe was the daunting avocado, which he admitted he had never cut before. Similarly, his chopping technique was unorthodox, as he sliced directly through its center – straight through the pit. THEN HE CUT AN AVOCADO LIKE THIS??? BRO LMAO pic.twitter.com/0TJf0noIJE — rob (@itsroblaw) December 10, 2019 Thankfully for Ninja, he wasn’t alone in his lack of avocado knowledge, as his fellow Mixer streamer Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek admitted he didn’t even know what it looked like, after being shown his counterpart’s mishap. “I don’t even know what an avocado looks like,” he conceded, “that’s the first time I’m looking at it on the inside.” Presumably, neither shroud or Ninja have made their own guacamole before. my pal @GordanRamseySDK is friends with @shroud and he showed him this thread and this was his reaction LMAO pic.twitter.com/ECil9fy7KW — rob (@itsroblaw) December 11, 2019 Making matters worse, Ninja even explained that he had spent time working in the kitchen at Noodles & Co. at the start of the video, recalling that he would “saute, cook at the noodle station and prep meals.” It seems is questionable techniques have irked some of the show’s viewers, with the number of dislikes left on the video approaching 6,000 – but balanced out by around 11,000 likes at the time of writing. In the end, his sandwich came out just fine though, even if it wasn’t quite what his instructor had in mind. His time at the top of the livestreaming world may have left his cooking skills a bit rusty.

  • Internet reacts to Logan Paul vs Floyd Mayweather boxing match – Dexerto

Internet reacts to Logan Paul vs Floyd Mayweather boxing match Amanda Westcott for SHOWTIMEThe internet was left stunned when YouTuber turned boxer Logan Paul went the distance against one of the greatest fighters of all time, Floyd Mayweather, in their June 7 exhibition bout. Despite the match having strange rules, such as not having a winner announced, many expected or in some cases wanted to see Logan Paul get knocked out. However, the influencer managed to defy the odds and emerge not only in one piece, but a few million dollars richer. The draw result has even lead to some crazy new theories from people who can’t believe Logan survived. The latest of which is that Floyd actually held Logan up after knocking him out in order to make sure the fight went the distance. While this conspiracy itself is quite wild, others had far more tame verdicts on the outcome. Get your tinfoil hats out everyone. The latest conspiracy is that Floyd KO’d Logan but held him up to make sure it went the distance.https://t.co/x6VNjqlNKX — Dexerto (@Dexerto) June 7, 2021 Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy took to Twitter to claim that calling the bout “legalized burglary was probably right” seeing as how much money both fighters made. As Dexerto previously reported, Mayweather alone teased that he was looking at $80M for the fight, not counting any PPV payouts or sponsor fees. Logan wins. Floyd wins. “Legalized burglary” was prob right — Dave Portnoy (@stoolpresidente) June 7, 2021 Streamer Jack ‘CouRage’ Dunlop seemed to echo Portnoy’s take, claiming that both Floyd and Logan Paul won. “They just made so much money,” he wrote. There are two winners tonight: Logan Paul and Floyd Mayweather. They just made so much money. — Jack “CouRage” Dunlop (@CouRageJD) June 7, 2021 Former UFC champion Daniel Cormier was impressed with Logan lasting the whole eight rounds, but wasn’t pleased with Mayweather. “Hats off to Logan Paul. He went 8 rounds with [the] greatest boxer ever. Not a good look for Floyd,” he wrote, which even earned a “thanks DC” from one half of the Paul brother duo. Speaking of his brother, Jake Paul seemed convinced that Logan actually won the fight, making several tweets celebrating his elder sibling’s “victory.” “50-1” he exclaimed, believing that Mayweather actually suffered the first loss of his career. “Holy f**k. My brother just beat Floyd Mayweather.” Considering the fact Mayweather’s own promoter believes he didn’t take the fight seriously, it would have been interesting to see how the bout would have played out had he done a full training camp. Certainly, the internet would have been more impressed with the matchup itself.

  • Internet reacts to trailer for hysterical new K-drama: Chicken Nugget – Dexerto

Internet reacts to trailer for hysterical new K-drama: Chicken Nugget NetflixA new K-drama, Chicken Nugget has sent the internet crazy as fans react to its hilarious premise: the series is literally about a woman who turns into a chicken nugget. Korean dramas run the gamut of genres, with series dedicated to historical and crime dramas, fantasy themed shows and even horror-comedies. K-dramas are famous for their creative story lines and plots which leap from heart-wrenching to heart-warming in just a few frames. However, the synopsis of one soon-to-be-released series has sent the internet into a fit — of giggles. Chicken Nugget is a new K-drama set to start streaming on Netflix this year, and its plot is wild, to say the least. The aptly named, Chicken Nugget, is a series about the daughter of a company president mistakes a new machine as a device which will help her with fatigue. After using the machine, she’s accidentally transformed into… you guessed it. A chicken nugget. The series follows her father, and an intern with a crush on her, as the pair try to find a way to turn her back into a human. Along the way they discover some ‘unexpected secrets’. The series stars actress, Kim Yoo Jung, as the eponymous nugget herself. Jung is well-known amongst K-drama fans thanks to her performance of Ae-ran in the Korean thriller, The 8th Night. “Best drama already,” joked one fan on Twitter, sharing the trailer. And K-drama fans were quick to express their enthusiasm for both the trailer and Kim Yoo Jung. Of course, not everyone was as convinced by the trailer. “Someone got paid to write this.” Another user chimed in. Some users suggested the series is adapted from a Korean webtoon, which they described as “random and ridiculous”. Chicken Nugget will air on Netflix during the first half of 2024.

  • Internet outraged over offensive “Gen Z Tattoo” TikTok trend – Dexerto

Internet outraged over offensive “Gen Z Tattoo” TikTok trend TikTok: julissaroman25A recent TikTok trend, which encouraged people from Generation Z to all get a similar tattoo, has gone viral for all the wrong reasons. TikTok user and Generation Z member Jordan Joann Williams recently posted a video encouraging other members of Generation Z (which refers people born between the mid-late 90s and early 2010s) to get the letter “Z” tattooed on them as a symbol of the generations “unity” and “rebellion”. However, other TikTok users were quick to point out that the ‘”Z” design proposed in this video was actually reminiscent of the Wolfsangel symbol, which was an early symbol used by prominent hate groups during the early 1900s. A lot of people on social media also shared their enthusiasm for the matching tattoos, which led to TikTok users who know the symbol’s history desperately duetting with people to stop them from getting the symbol tattooed on them. Some are sharing TikToks stating they want to get tattoos. Others are duetting these videos desperately trying to inform them it’s a Nazi symbol. pic.twitter.com/dDEgUKZDBr — Def Noodles (@defnoodles) September 20, 2020 However, despite this and fact that the the video was swiftly deleted following people pointing out OP’s error, this didn’t stop several people from getting the tattoo. A few Gen Zs who got the tattoo and few thinking of getting the Nazi symbol tattooed. pic.twitter.com/sPw9qmdqda — Def Noodles (@defnoodles) September 20, 2020 The original poster later responded to the online backlash, explaining that she had been writing her Z’s that way since pre-school and was unaware of the implications of the symbol. In a tearful apology, she explains that this trend was meant to be about “bringing the whole generation together” and spreading “love and unity”. She also shared that as part of the backlash of incident, she had been receiving death threats and had people contacting her boyfriend, who she says had “nothing to do with this”. Begging people to leave her alone, Jordan said: “I am not Charli D’Amelio, I am not Loren Grey and I do not know how to handle hate like this.” However, this appeal seemed to be in vain, as she later uploaded a TikTok detailing messages she received from another user. Since then, people have been sharing ideas for an alternative “Gen Z” tattoo that doesn’t have the same connotations as the original idea, with many people suggesting incorporating an equals sign into the tattoo. Seemingly bouncing back from the online hate she received, Williams uploaded a further TikTok summarising the range of less offensive Gen Z tattoos other users had come up with. Although this trend started out with the best intentions, it is good that people now recognise the disturbing and offensive historical context behind the tattoo. There are other ways to show unity, and hopefully one of the alternative tattoo designs catch on!

  • Internet is obsessed with trying to figure out this BBQ TikToker’s age – Dexerto

Internet is obsessed with trying to figure out this BBQ TikToker’s age TikTok: @bbqwithbigjakeTikToker BBQwithBigJake went viral on TikTok, all because of speculation and theory-crafting related to his age. In a viral April 24 TikTok video with almost 8 million views, @bbqwithbigjake shared what he called a “poor man’s burnt ends” recipe for those who want to enjoy BBQ on a budget. The video, however, did not go viral because of the ingenuity of his budget recipe. Instead, the comment section of the video has become a forum for rampant speculation about Jake’s age, because according to one of the many such comments Jake “could be 12, could be 40.” TikTok reacts to the confusing looks of Jake TikTok users in the comments were confused about BigJake’s age, as it is extremely hard to guess based on his appearance and face. “Is he old or young? I can’t tell,” reads the most-liked comment under the TikTok. Followed up by a similar comment of the same nature: “he either 17, or 47.” Some other users pointed out that Jake looks very cheerful in the video. “Dude knows something funny but won’t tell us,” said one user. Another comment broadly states: “Seems to have such a gentle soul.” Whatever the reason for his viral breakout, his newfound fans seem to be sticking around thanks to the quality of his cooking. Many of the comments not related to his looks solidify that, as many users have thanked Jake for his recipes and he often answers questions from viewers related to recipes themselves. • Internet issues knock out xQc’s stream two days in a row – Dexerto

Internet issues knock out xQc’s stream two days in a row Twitch streamer Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel was forced to end yet another broadcast early due to an apparent DDoS attack. xQc ran into some trouble with DDoS attacks first during his New Year’s Eve stream, after he inadvertently revealed his IP address to viewers during the broadcast. Just about 30 minutes after revealing his IP, Felix’s stream abruptly came to an end due to what seemed to be a DDoS attack, which overwhelms a target with massive amounts of internet traffic. On January 14, two weeks after the first incident occurred, xQc was once again forced off his stream by more internet issues – but whether it was actually a “DDoS” attack or not remains unknown. “Ok chat, my entire internet is f*cked up,” Felix announced, before confirming his phone wasn’t working, either. “Yeah, I know CMD (command prompt) doesn’t work either.” “Chat I’ll see you in 15-20 minutes, depending on how long it takes to do that,” he assured viewers before his stream went down. However, that wouldn’t be the end of xQc’s internet issues for the week, as they came up again during a stream the very next day on January 15. After noticing slow download speeds, Felix apologized to chat for what he considered “wasting their time,” before again being cut off mid-sentence. “Chat I’m not going to troll you guys, listen, I rarely say it dude, but I value chat’s time a lot,” xQc told viewers. “And I feel like I’m wasting you guys’ time whenever we stall really badly, whenever this sh*t happens, dude. I don’t want to waste everyone’s time with this stupid sh*t, because I would hate if that happened to me.” Of course, it’s impossible to tell if it was actually a DDoS attack or just something else that happened to xQc’s internet connection, but something suspicious definitely seems to be going on. Hopefully it’s nothing more than some connection problems, and xQc can get his internet issues ironed out for his viewers and his stream in 2020.

  • Internet inspired after Neuralink patient posts using only his mind – Dexerto

Internet inspired after Neuralink patient posts using only his mind John Manning/ XThe first Neuralink patient, Noland Arbaugh, has inspired the internet by putting up his first post on social media using just his mind. Arbaugh has been busy showcasing the capabilities of the Neuralink chip in his head since his surgery earlier this year. The paralyzed man reportedly spent hours playing Civilization IV once the technology got up and running, and has even streamed himself playing chess. Arbaugh said during the stream that he essentially uses his mind to “move” the cursor on a computer to complete tasks and play games. His most recent stunt was posting on social media. His X/Twitter account, which says it was created in 2018 and has not posted before, put out a post joking about how he is now a “bot.” “Twitter banned me because they thought I was a bot, X and Elon Musk reinstated me because I am,” Arbaugh said. Musk fanboys and health technology nuts alike said they were inspired by the post and the continued exponential growth the patient has been showing since the chip was implanted in his brain. “You are an inspiration and hero Noland! And funny too,” one Musk fan said. Others also joked about Arbaugh being the first “cyborg” to post on the social media website. “Add this one to the history books. First tweet made possible using a wireless brain implant,” another social media user said. Neuralink has been criticized in the past for its lack of transparency around its subjects and trials, including its testing on animals. This new press rollout around Arbaugh is the first update the company has given about its test subject since Musk announced in January that he was “recovering well” from his surgery. Overall, it seems like the internet is loving Arbaugh, and can’t wait to see what else he can do with the implant.

Internet fooled as fake Elon Musk account suspended following Twitter purchase termination Following the news that Elon Musk had terminated his deal to purchase Twitter, an account with a near-identical username to the PayPal founder was suspended sending the internet into hysteria. In April of this year, Elon Musk secured a deal to purchase Twitter. For a mere $44 billion – and for the sake of ‘free speech’ – Musk planned to buy the massive social media platform. However, as time passed since the deal was made public, the rockier it became. Users threatened to leave the platform and Musk threatened to back out of the deal unless Twitter could provide information regarding ‘spam bots’. Ultimately, Musk terminated the deal giving users the peace of mind they sought. And just as the deal fell through, a Twitter account with the username @eIonmusk was suspended. Fake Elon Musk suspension fools internet Shortly after the fake Elon Musk account was discovered, many Twitter users posted screenshots of the suspension page to either celebrate or mourn the account’s status. A large number of users pointed out that the suspension came shortly after Musk terminated his deal to purchase Twitter. And some news outlets even wrote stories claiming Elon Musk’s Twitter account was suspended. However, when visiting Elon Musk’s actual Twitter account, it’s clear he has not been suspended. Eagle-eyed users quickly noticed that the “l” in the suspended account’s username was actually an upper-case “I”. • Internet erupts as Megan Thee Stallion seemingly argues with Justin Timberlake at VMAs – Dexerto

Internet erupts as Megan Thee Stallion seemingly argues with Justin Timberlake at VMAs IG: theestallion / justintimberlakeThe 2023 Video Music Awards (VMAs) have taken an unexpected turn, with a backstage video capturing what seems to be a heated exchange between Megan Thee Stallion and Justin Timberlake. The 19-second clip, which has since gone viral, shows Megan waving her finger at Timberlake, who seems to be laughing or smiling in response. Of course, the internet is now buzzing with speculation about the nature of their exchange. Fans were quick to take sides, with comments ranging from “idk what they were arguing about but she’s right” to calls for a lip reader to decipher the silent exchange. The video’s rapid spread led many to believe that a major altercation had taken place between the two stars. However, a report from Variety has since shed light on the incident, suggesting that there was “zero fight” between the two artists. The brief interaction, which seemed intense in the silent video, was apparently more gentle than it appeared. Megan’s animated gestures, which some interpreted as anger, might have been nothing more than a passionate conversation or a playful exchange. “He said, ‘It’s so nice to meet you,’ and she said ‘No, no this don’t count, this don’t count. We gotta meet proper.’ “It was very cute,” the source says. It’s worth noting that both Megan and Timberlake had significant moments during the VMAs. Timberlake reunited with his *NSYNC bandmates to present an award, while Megan delivered a show-stopping performance. Given the high emotions and adrenaline backstage at such events, it’s not uncommon for artists to have animated interactions. But for now, it seems there was more smoke than fire in this viral VMA moment.

Internet fears for Gypsy Rose’s husband after spotting concerning detail Instagram: gypseyrose_a_blanchardAfter looking further into details about the death of Gypsy Rose’s mom, the internet is in fear for her husband. Gypsy Rose, 32, was sentenced in 2016 to 10 years in prison for her role in the death of her mom, Dee Dee. Though she has received support since her early release in December 2023, some people still question who Gypsy Rose truly is when she is behind closed doors. However, one of the main concerns that arose about Gypsy is that she may be controlling her husband, Ryan Scott Anderson. Internet thinks Gypsy Rose’s words have come back to haunt her Gypsy and Ryan married in July 2022 while Gypsy was still in prison. The two first met as pen-pals and soon turned their relationship exclusive. Though Gypsy and Ryan have gone on a press tour since her release, having done many interviews together, the internet noticed a detail about how Gypsy treats Ryan that is quite eerie. In a video of a younger Gypsy, she said, “She’d squeeze my hand, and I’d know — zip it.” Gypsy was referring to when her mom Dee Dee would squeeze her hand when she was disclosing too much information. In recent videos where Gypsy and Ryan were being interviewed, you can see Gypsy squeeze Ryan’s hand the same way that Dee Dee squeezed hers as a child. The internet has since commented on the matter, “Gypsy Rose’s social media presence comes to a dramatic end with her own words haunting her.” Reads another comment, “There is no healing for Gypsy. I have a feeling she’s a monster just like her mother was. No matter how ‘sick’ they are. They are still monsters.” However, there were also those who showed their support for Gypsy, “So she’s showing signs of trauma that she learned over years of being abused to the highest level? Pls just shut up.” Gypsy has yet to comment on the claims. She and Ryan are leaning into their life as newlyweds, seemingly unbothered by the traffic of negativity.

The 10-year-old influencer is also known for his apparently outstanding skills in Little League Football… so much so, that his father is reportedly shopping him around at various top universities to snag a potential scholarship. While Gronk’s athletic skills might be impressive at his age, the internet was left cringing when the youngster appeared on a podcast episode, thanks to his father trying to feed him answers throughout the show. Baby Gronk’s dad causes internet cringe in awkward podcast episode Gronk appeared on the ‘Bring the Juice’ sports podcast back in May, but it looks like footage from the show is just now starting to circulate on social media in a major way. A particular clip from the pod is making the rounds online, showing Gronk’s dad, Jake San Miguel, feeding his son answers to the hosts’ questions and even asking that they say the question again so he can give a ‘scripted’ reply. “Ask that again, bro, and say, ‘Man, what kinda question is that? You see my Instagram,’” Miguel coached his son. The host asked the same question again (“Are you him?”), and Baby Gronk replied with his dad’s answer. This interaction has led more than a few Twitter users to side-eye the youngster’s father, with one even asking him to “blink twice if you’re tired of being dad’s clout bait.” “I’ve never had a more difficult time sitting through a 90-second video in my life,” one user said. “To call it cringe is an understatement. • Internet divided by bizarre changes to McDonald’s uniform – Dexerto

Internet divided by bizarre changes to McDonald’s uniform McDonald’sThe Internet is torn by bizarre changes to McDonald’s uniform, allowing workers to now wear clothing like bucket hats and jeans. McDonald’s is well known as one of the most popular fast food restaurants not only in America but also worldwide, boasting reasonably priced food with great taste to match (even if it’s slightly unhealthy). One of the countries where McDonald’s has become a staple in many people’s lives is the UK, but recently there was a UK-wide uniform change that has the internet torn. The change, currently in a trial phase, proposed that staff be able to wear more casual items of clothing like McDonald’s themed bucket hats, jeans, joggers, and bandanas. While some loved the fast-food chain becoming more lenient, allowing workers to wear more comfortable clothing, others thought the new uniform looked absolutely horrendous. McDonald’s uniform change sparks love-hate reaction Some people found it cool that workers now had the opportunity to create a more personalized look with the more diversified uniform choices being introduced. “Like you can choose any piece you want in any combination plus you can wear joggers and skirts,” one person praised. “Huge improvement, the maccas’ [McDonald’s] uniforms are the foulest in retail in my honest opinion,” agreed another. However, others were not so convinced by the new uniform options. While they admitted they might be more comfy, they thought that the overall look was too bland, plus not logical: “Looks too plain/unbranded IMO. The whole point of a staff uniform is so customers can recognize that you’re a staff member, doesn’t really work when the uniform looks like normal clothes for the most part,” one person pointed out. Still, while the uniforms in the UK are undergoing massive change, the American uniforms will remain the same – and some wouldn’t even care if it did change, as long as the food still has the iconic McDonald’s taste.

And the internet is not happy with Hill. Celebrity news is on fire, with multiple big names within various industries being called out for inappropriate behavior of late. And while Colleen Ballinger cops the heat on YouTube, it seems Jonah Hill is taking on the backlash for the film industry at this point in time. Rising to fame through his roles in 21 Jump Street and Superbad, Hill is currently making headlines after his ex-girlfriend Sarah Brady seemingly exposed the pair’s private messages and labeled the actor as emotionally abusive. The couple were together briefly between 2021 and 2022, leaving the internet shocked at some of the alleged “boundaries” Hill set. Twitter was quick to notice similarities between Hill’s alleged messages and patterns of abuse. Despite Hill maintaining that he was simply setting boundaries in the texts, many have labeled his requirements as controlling. Referring to Hill’s message in which he asked Brady not to post “pictures of yourself in a bathing suit”, one person Tweeted, “She is a surfer and shouldn’t…post pictures of herself in a bathing suit? [What the f***].” Brady is a pro-surfer and often shares photos of herself on Instagram either at the beach or on a surfboard — making this particular request bizarre to many. However, not everyone saw an issue with Hill’s messages, with some fans rising to defend the actor. “It’s not abusive to have preferences and standards. Y’all [crazy]. He was very respectful in the text. He’s not obligated to just accept any behavior,” one tweeted. International footballer fired by club for pro-Andrew Tate posts on Instagram YouTube: PBD PodcastA footballer has been sacked by their club in Sweden after reportedly posting pro-Andrew Tate posts on social media despite being warned not to. Despite being around for years, Andrew Tate rose to prominence on the internet in the back half of 2022 through his misogynistic views, clashes with influencers, and lavish posts about his lifestyle. The former kickboxer had been banned from a number of platforms including TikTok, Twitch, and Twitter due to his claims, and he’s also been arrested for 30 days by Romanian authorities in relation to the abduction of two girls. This followed an online clash with climate activist Great Thunberg. Plenty of Tate fans have taken to social media to support the Brit, with plenty circulating a video of him ‘predicting’ that “the matrix” was going to cause something to happen to him. Footballer sacked by Swedish club for pro-Andrew Tate posts Iraqi-Swedish footballer Abbas Mohamad, who played for GAIS in the Swedish first division, reportedly posted an Instagram story in support of Tate with the caption: “innocent until proven guilty”. This prompted a statement from the club on New Year’s Eve where they said it was “completely at odds with GAIS’s core values,” and that Mohamad had been warned about his posts. On January 7, though, GAIS confirmed that they’d cut ties with the defender. “GAIS and the recently contracted defender Abbas Mohamad have chosen to go their separate ways,” they posted on their website. “As an employer, the club will not comment further on the circumstances.” Following the confirmation that he’d been dismissed from the club, some fans noted that the defender posted another Instagram story of him laughing at the drama. Naturally, some were pleased to see him leave the club, calling it “disrespectful.” Others, though, questioned if he should have been sacked for his own personal social media posts. Though, he had been warned.

  • Interior designer slammed for ‘racist’ bathroom following house tour – Dexerto

Interior designer slammed for ‘racist’ bathroom following house tour TIKTOK: hannahpolskinstudio / INSTAGRAM: hannahpolskinstudioAn interior designer is facing backlash on TikTok, after sharing a house tour featuring a ‘racist’ and ‘slavery-themed’ bathroom. In a now-deleted TikTok, Hannah Polskin (hannahpolskinstudio) gave a tour of her home, and showed off the design of her bathroom, which included pieces of decoration influenced by African culture. Some of the wall decor included a photo of African-American boxer Muhammad Ali, African-inspired art, an African tribal mask, an afro pick, and a toilet roll holder made out of chains. The designer has since garnered backlash, as viewers think that the traditional African art and the photo of Ali with the chainlink toilet paper holder connotes slavery. Given that Hannah is white, her choice of decor has been deemed offensive by many. Interior designer slammed over ‘racist’ bathroom decor In a viral clip with 928,000 views, TikToker JPG (jpgeez) showed the artist’s original video and raised concerns about the bathroom design. “So, I have questions. Is this your bathroom? Did someone ask you to style the bathroom like this?” he said. “I think the thing that I’m wondering about, and what I would imagine most people are wondering about, would be the toilet paper holder with the choice of the rest of the decor, you know.” Many TikTok users took to the comments to slam the interior designer. “Such a lack of respect,” one person wrote. “That’s honestly kinda creepy,” another added. “It’s the chain with artwork surrounding… truly telling,” a third shared. Others said the bathroom reminded them of Jordan Peele’s Get Out. “This is a bathroom in the Get Out house,” one user said. “What in the Get Out bathroom,” another commented. “I would see that toilet paper and probably run from my sense of impending doom,” someone else wrote. • What happened to TikTok Room? Instagram drama page mysteriously disappears – Dexerto

What happened to TikTok Room? Instagram drama page mysteriously disappears Twitter: thetiktokroomIt is the go-to page for every kind of TikTok-related drama you need, but the 2-million-follower page has suddenly disappeared from Instagram. What really happened to TikTokRoom? UPDATE 3/23/2021 5:16 PM PST: TikTokRoom has officially returned to Instagram, although no reason for their absence has been given. In their latest post, they have urged fans to follow their TikTok account for additional content. https://twitter.com/thetiktokroom/status/1374499911127863300 For now, it seems that fans will continue to wait for an explanation for the page’s absence, if they ever choose to divulge why they have been off and on in the past few days. Original story is as follows: On March 23, fans are beginning to realize that TikTokroom may have been deactivated for good. At the time of writing the famous Instagram cannot be found for the second time in the space of a week, with an error reading ‘page not available.’ Concern first started on Wednesday, March 17, after the Instagram tea page for all things TikTok-related disappeared from the mobile and desktop app. With more than 2 million followers and over 15,000 posts, it is a big loss to the community of TikTok drama lovers. The account describes itself as the ‘First ever TikTok shaderoom’ and regularly posts screenshots and videos revealing some of the drama that happens behind the scenes among influencers. The account was one of the first places to publicize that Charli D’Amelio was losing followers by the hundreds of thousands back in September 2020, and has always been quick to reveal much of the drama surrounding budding romances or sudden break-ups among the app’s most popular creators. TikTokRoom even became so influential that it hosted its own awards online at the end of 2020, crowning Sway as the best content house, and Larray as the funniest TikToker among other categories. The page was created by TikTok fans Nat and Elasia as just a place to collate some TikTok drama, and little did they realize just how much it would blow up. Following this, several other TikTok shade pages cropped up with many also gaining popularity rapidly, however, TikTokRoom has always taken the top spot. Where is TikTokRoom? At first, it was not the end for the iconic shade account. On their back-up page @tiktokroomig, the creators behind the account posted a story letting people know they had only temporarily disabled the account and returned online soon after. https://twitter.com/TaylorLorenz/status/1372302144934617088?s=20 However, TikTokRoom has now disappeared yet again, and Instagram’s rules dictate that you can not deactivate an account more than once in the space of 7 days. This spells trouble for the account, possibly meaning it has been permanently deleted. This is leading to speculation over what went wrong, and there is not yet any word from the page’s creators on their backup page or their Twitter. For those missing their daily dose of internet drama, there are several other Instagram pages that should be able to fulfill your needs. TikTok-specific accounts include TikTokInsiders, TikTokleakins, and theshadeoftheroom.

  • Instagram star Supreme Patty under fire for throwing cat – Dexerto

Instagram star Supreme Patty under fire for throwing cat “Supreme Patty” is one of Instagram’s biggest stars, boasting over six million followers on the platform – but in spite of his popularity, the internet celeb is coming under fire for a familiar offense. The 20-year-old Floridian Instagram sensation is known for his outrageous content, being akin to the late great “Jackass” crew with his hilarious stunts and over-the-top videos. However, one of these videos is sparking outrage across the net, and it’s not the first time such an offense has occurred in the online world, either. Patty uploaded a video to Instagram on November 26 that featured himself and a group of friends standing in a circle and throwing things over their heads – one of which happened to be a living, breathing cat. Although it seems like the feline landed on its feet, the internet is taking issue with the video, with many commenters speaking out on apparent mistreatment of the animal. “I honestly think throwing a cat isn’t fun or funny,” one user commented. “Who knows what would’ve happened if the cat got hurt?” “If they want to throw stuff in the air to hurt themselves, that’s on them,” another user agreed. “The cat shouldn’t be brought into it.” “It’s pathetic and so heartless,” another wrote. Internet regulars will know that this isn’t the first time a social media celeb has tossed a cat on camera: in July, Twitch streamer “Alinity Divine” went viral after throwing her cat over her head in an apparent fit of rage during a game of Apex Legends, after the animal seemed to get in her way. In fact, the outrage was so intense that the Saskatoon SPCA even investigated the matter, later revealing that their investigations found that he had “no malicious intent” and “expressed remorse” concerning her actions. While Patty has yet to receive such intense scrutiny, he has not responded to outrage over his latest upload – but the internet isn’t letting him off the hook in wake of Alinity’s viral cat-tossing catastrophe.

  • Instagram stars accused of creating fake paparazzi account for clout – Dexerto

Instagram stars accused of creating fake paparazzi account for clout Ryan Halsa/InstagramBrothers Ryan and Sammy Halsa have been accused by YouTuber Danny Gonzales of creating fake paparazzi accounts on different social media platforms to make themselves appear more famous. Social media is a strange place. From having its own language to making people famous overnight, you never know what the next trend or drama might be. YouTuber Danny Gonzales recently came across the TikTok page Hollywood Paparazzi which seemed to be devoted to chronicling the paparazzi’s obsession with the apparently very famous influencers Sammy and David Halsa. Both the Halsa brothers have 4.8 million followers each on their personal Instagram accounts. But according to Gonzales, Ryan Halsa gained 1.4 million followers in July 2022 but soon lost more than 708,000 followers two months later in September 2022. This could indicate that Halsa is buying followers, said Gonzales. But despite their millions of followers, the paparazzi and news clips of the brothers are often met with comments wondering who Ryan and Sammy Halsa are. Who are the Halsa Brothers? According to an article in New York Weekly, a publication that people can pay to be featured in, the two brothers grew up in Newport Beach, California, and have been attempting social media fame for the past several years. The article also says that Ryan “has reached an audience of over 3.6 million followers and turned into one of the world’s most media/paparazzi-covered influencers. Not too different is Sammy Halsa, an American social media star with a strong fanbase on Instagram. Sammy has also been one of Hollywood’s top media-covered celebrities.” Ryan is also an aspiring musician and has recently hinted on his Instagram that he’s about to release music. A separate TikTok channel devoted specifically to sharing news reports and paparazzi encounters about the brothers has also drawn suspicion after they are often connected to Justin Bieber and Jake Paul. But despite the hundreds of news videos about the brothers on the “Behind ur back” TikTok channel, information and other news stories about the brothers are hard to come by outside these channels. In his video, Gonzales discusses why the brothers might allegedly be making these paparazzi and news accounts about themselves. He brought up the fact that some viewers believe that the videos are made as a satire of real celebrities. However, Gonzales does not agree. He believes that the brothers are doing this to make themselves look more famous than they are – sort of like a fake it ’til you make it situation. “I just feel like, if it was a joke, their posts would probably be a little bit funnier. And they’d be leaning into goofiness a little bit more,” said Gonzales.

  • Instagram reverts feed changes after ‘Make Instagram normal’ campaign goes viral – Dexerto

Instagram reverts feed changes after ‘Make Instagram normal’ campaign goes viral Unsplash: Luke van ZylInstagram boss Adam Mosseri has revealed that the company will be reverting changes to the app feed following recent backlash from users. Over the last few weeks, Instagram users have shared their thoughts about recent changes to the platform that included a stronger push toward video content that included a full-screen feed. This included Kylie Jenner, who joined the “Make Instagram Normal” campaign. This prompted Instagram head Adam Mosseri to respond on July 26, as he posted a video on social media where he claimed the company was doubling down on its full-screen feed and focusing on video. The video prompted influencers to claim the platform was effectively dead. Now, Mosseri has revealed that Instagram will be reverting the recent changes in an interview with Platformer. Instagram reverts changes In the interview, Adam Mosseri explained why they are deciding to revert from the full-screen style feed as well as cut back on recommended posts within the feed. “I’m glad we took a risk — if we’re not failing every once in a while, we’re not thinking big enough or bold enough,” Adam explained. “But we definitely need to take a big step back and regroup. We’ve learned a lot, then we come back with some sort of new idea or iteration. So we’re going to work through that. “For the new feed designs, people are frustrated and the usage data isn’t great, So there I think that we need to take a big step back, regroup, and figure out how we want to move forward.” However, he made it clear that the reverts announced today do not mean they won’t focus on video in the future. Adam explained that the data still speaks for itself, but that they’re taking some time to make sure photo and video content are not “mashed into one” and that he is trying to “untangle” users’ content. We’ll have to wait to see how the platform evolves in the future, but for now, Instagram will be made “normal again.”

Instagram “shadowban” – what it is & how to avoid it Ever seen an Instagram influencer re-post a grid photo on their story? Or wondered why you haven’t seen your fave account post in so long? They could be suffering from an Instagram shadowban. Here’s how you can avoid the same fate. Instagram is often utilized as a platform of free expression, education and community. But are we really able to post anything we want? Accounts who choose not to follow the app’s community guidelines could see their accounts suspended, restricted or shadowbanned. Although, multiple users have reportedly been shadowbanned despite conforming to the rules. What does it actually mean to have a shadowban placed on your account? Are there ways to avoid it? What is a shadowban? While you’d typically be informed if your account was about to be suspended, accounts can be shadowbanned without warning. Hubspot state that a shadowban may be applied to your account if your content is deemed “inappropriate.” Instagram users such as Nyome Nicholas-Williams have previously disputed their shadowban as they’ve claimed to follow the community guidelines. If an account is shadowbanned, the owner is still able to post as much content as they’d like. They may, however, see a significant decline in engagement. This is because Instagram will hide their content from other users, meaning that posts are unlikely to reach the explore page. How do I avoid a shadowban? There are a number of reasons an Instagram account might be shadowbanned – and they don’t stop at the community guidelines! Using (un)follow apps, broken or “banned” hashtags such as “like4like” might get you the chop as well. Its always worth reviewing the app’s guidelines to make sure you’re not posting anything dodgy. The guidelines state that your content should always be “your own,” and should never contain “nudity” or offensive imagery. “Spam” is also against the rules, so make sure you’re only posting a reasonable amount of times per day. As long as you’re sticking to the guidelines and only using trustworthy external apps, you should be safe!

  • Instagram star Caroline Calloway responds to Natalie Beach controversy – Dexerto

Instagram star Caroline Calloway responds to Natalie Beach controversy Popular Instagram influencer Carolin Calloway has become one of the most talked-about people on the internet seemingly overnight, after a damning article posted by a former friend, and has now responded to the ongoing backlash. Calloway is known mainly as an ‘Instagram personality’, with over 790,000 followers on the platform and growing fast. The cause of this growth is partly due to an article posted by her former friend and ghostwriter Natalie Beach, who gave an in-depth account of the pair’s turbulent relationship. It is alleged by Beach that she was ghostwriting many of Calloway’s captions. Beach was also apparently “financially dependent” on her, and at one time, Calloway essentially left her homeless after taking away her summer housing. Although the article is highly critical of Calloway, she didn’t shy away from it, instead imploring both her supporters and detractors to read the article, in a showing of sympathy for Beach. However, Calloway has now revealed that she plans to tell her own side of the story in a response article, to be posted on the same New York Magazine vertical, The Cut. In an Instagram post on September 12, she writes: “You may not like it or think that it’s important or say that I’m manic or spiraling or melting-down. And that’s fine. You’re entitled to your opinion although I ask kindly that you go express your concern somewhere else.” Calloway’s response on Instagram, finding herself in the eye of an internet storm. She concludes by saying, “Now if you’ll excuse me I have to get back to writing my response for @thecut. Working title: “I Am Caroline Calloway.” She had already been given forewarning that the article from Beach was coming, and had fully supported it, writing “You should read Natalie’s article when it comes out,” although her team had advised her not to bring any attention to it. View this post on Instagram Do you guys have any friendships that have ended that still bring you pain? This afternoon I found out that one of the two people I have hurt the most in this world will be publishing an essay about our friendship for The Cut. I don’t know when this essay will go live. But it will be different than the articles that called me a scammer for clickbait. Everything in Natalie’s article will be brilliant and beautifully expressed and true. I know this not because I have read her essay but because Natalie is the best writer I know. I still love her. Our friendship ended 2 years ago, but I still walk around New York sometimes, listening to music, running errands, thinking about her. Amsterdam. I’ll let her tell you about that trip because it put her in danger—not me—so maybe it is hers to tell. Maybe she has custody of that story. Sometimes I all but gag with guilt. Sometimes I write emails to her in my head. Sometimes I imagine a future where we’re friends again! Natalie suffered all the consequences of being loved by an addict and none of the benefits of being loved by the woman that recovery made me into. In early August Natalie liked one of my Instagram photos by accident. I knew it was by accident because I know Natalie. But still! I thought: Maybe she is checking in on me because she still wants to be friends! Maybe she still loves me, too. I realize now that she must have been working on the article about us that will be published soon by New York Magazine. My team asked two things of me: To ignore this essay in my posts so I don’t drive traffic to it and to give them Natalie’s email so they could reach out. This is the first time I’ve disobeyed them. You should read Natalie’s article when it comes out. I’ll post a link when it does. Go leave a comment on nymag.com even if it’s insulting me. Every digital impression will be another reason for The Cut to hire Natalie again and to pay her even more next time. And The Cut doesn’t have access to the audience most interested in hating and loving Caroline Calloway. I do. So start anticipating this article. Get excited. Read it. I hope I can support Natalie now in ways I never did during my addiction. Who is Caroline Calloway? This is not the first Caroline Calloway controversy, although it is her most prolific. First rising to fame in 2015, signing a major book deal for her memoir entitled ‘AND WE WERE LIKE’, published in the UK, US and France, which earned her a reported $500,000. Her biggest controversy, perhaps until now, came in 2018, when she threw a “creativity workshop” in New York, but the event was criticized by attendees and fans who said they were not given the experience promised. Calloway refunded tickets and canceled planned tour stops for the workshop in other US cities. Since then, Calloway has continued to grow her following on social media, but there’s now questions being raised about how much of this growth is owed to her former friend.
